Video summary
The video transcript explores critical theories regarding the upcoming confrontation between Luffy's crew and Imu in the Elbaf arc of One Piece. The central argument posits that Zoro and Sanji are essential to defeating Imu, primarily by eliminating his powerful God's Knights allies, Summers and Killing Heel. While there is a debate over whether harming these knights directly weakens Imu or merely forces him to retreat due to the physical toll on his own body from staying outside Mary Geoise for too long, the consensus leans toward the idea that removing his proxies will eventually compel Imu to leave Elbaf to recover his strength. This dynamic suggests a strategic shift where Luffy and Loki can survive by holding off Imu while their allies neutralize the immediate threats, creating an opening similar to previous climactic moments like Thriller Bark or Oars Island.
A significant portion of the discussion focuses on the necessity of a training arc for Luffy and Loki before they face Imu in the final war. The transcript suggests that after dealing with the God's Knights, Elbaf will likely see Shuri and Geban stepping up to mentor the Straw Hats alongside other giant warriors or even spirits from the astral realm. This joint training session would be designed to reveal all of Imu's secrets, including his magical abilities and power sources, ensuring that Luffy is fully prepared for the ultimate battle. The narrative also touches on character development, particularly Sanji's journey toward awakening Conqueror's Haki and overcoming internal conflicts related to his family history and relationships with women, which are seen as crucial elements in his growth alongside Nami's involvement in these personal struggles.
The video concludes by outlining two potential scenarios for the end of the Elbaf arc that both serve Luffy's long-term goals. In the first scenario, Imu realizes he has overstayed his welcome and must return to Mary Geoise immediately after Zoro slices Summers' steel heart and Sanji awakens his Haki to defeat Killing Heel. Alternatively, if Imu attempts to stay longer despite the risks, a "Thriller Bark moment" could occur where the Straw Hats successfully stall him long enough for Luffy and Loki to recover from their injuries. Regardless of which path is taken by Eiichiro Oda, the overarching theme remains that defeating Imu's minions in this arc will strip away his power sources, effectively weakening him significantly and setting the stage for a decisive victory in the final war against World Government forces.

you can't be Joy Boy, cuz Joy Boy
wouldn't be this weak. That's a crazy
thing to say, because remember, at the
end of the day, Imu won against Joy Boy.
Joy Boy lost as well, meaning that no
matter how strong Joy Boy was, Imu was
still able to defeat him, and Imu's
saying, "You're not even as strong as
Joy Boy." What does that mean for the
Straw Hats? What does that mean for
Luffy? What does that mean for their
fate? Who's fighting Imu now? I
definitely think there is going to have
to be a training arc. That's what we're
entering now. But, in terms of what's
going to happen for the rest of Elbaf,
there was always a time limit in terms
of how long Imu could stay. So, Imu
might have to leave to tend to
whatever's going on at Mary Geoise, and
because of whatever happens to his body
if he's out of Mary Geoise for a long
time. So, I think Imu could leave Elbaf
and then think, "Well, I've given
Summers and Killingham my powers, so
they can handle the rest." But, then of
course, Zoro is going to be able to beat
Summers. Sanji is going to awaken his
Conqueror's Haki and defeat Killingham,
which means that really, rather than
Luffy, his wings are going to step up
and save Elbaf, and then we shall see
the training arc. Is that what's going
to happen? Oars moment incoming. Straw
Hats are going to have to hold off Imu
until Zoro and Sanji weaken him by
killing the Gods Knights and Luffy and
Loki getting back up. Do we think that
Imu's going to stay that long? I would
love to see it. Can you imagine if Imu
gets stalled by the Straw Hats? I do
really think that there's a chance that
Imu will have to leave because of the
time limit, because of the fact that he
can't stay out of Mary Geoise for a long
time, the effect that it seems to have
on his body. But, if we do have another
Thriller Bark moment, if we see that the
Straw Hats keep Imu at bay whilst Luffy
and Loki recovers, because there's no
way that the Straw Hats would be able to
hold off Imu unless it was also Zoro and
Sanji involved. I feel like it's more
likely that Zoro and Sanji are going to
be battling Summers and killing him.
Otherwise, the Elbafian children are at
greater risk. You know, they're at risk
already as it is. Time works different
in Elbaf. What is this a reference to?
Is this Are you saying that Imu might
actually be able to stay longer at Elbaf
because of the way that time works? That
is true. Well, there are other things
that we have to take into account. Geban
could get involved at this moment. He
might say that, you know, I've healed
enough or I'm like I'm I'm okay as it is
or the astral realm. Who lives on the
astral realm? Is the astral realm
supposed to be the afterlife for all the
Elbafian warriors? Will the Elbafian
warriors who have passed, will their
spirits come down to protect Elbaf? Time
works differently in Elbaf. So, then
that means Luffy and Loki can train like
can do a speed run of a training and
then come back to fight Imu. I love this
idea of Imu getting shocked at how
strong the Straw Hats are, at how strong
this new generation is. But at the same
time, I feel like Elbaf is going to end
with Imu undefeated. This is just a
teaser of Imu's strength to give Luffy
and the Straw Hats and Loki a taste. And
then I think what's going to happen is
they're going to wake Gunko up or Shuri
up, I should I say. And then Shuri is
going to teach them. It's going to be a
joint training arc between Shuri and
Geban teaching Luffy and the Straw Hats
and Loki all of Imu's secrets, all of
Imu's powers, what sort of magic he's
got up his sleeves, and then so that
they're ready for the final war. And
then of course, Imu's going to be
pulling out all sorts of crazy stuff
during the final war as well. Rice
Lucas, Zoro and Sanji are involved. They
are the key to defeating Imu by killing
the God's Knights. So, you think by
killing the God's Knights that weakens
the power of Imu? Apart from the fact
that Imu has clearly lent them his
strength at this point so that they've
become stronger. I'm not convinced that
harming the God's Knights will mean Imu
himself sustains damage. Is that
something that we've seen in the past? I
don't remember that ever being shown. I
mean, it is certainly a possibility, so
we can't rule it out, but Luffy let
himself get stabbed, so Imu won't dodge?
I don't know. I like that idea as well,
but I don't know. Look at that state. I
think he was shocked. I don't see this
being premeditated. I think Luffy was
caught off guard. He had this unmatched
confidence. He had this, you know,
self-assurance that was unjustified. I
really feel like this is Oda's way of
showing us that this is the scale. This
is the new scale. This is the new bar
that we have to attain, that we have to
reach. This is Oda showing us that Luffy
just isn't there yet. Imu has said as
well, "You are not Joy Boy, because Joy
Boy would not be this weak." Is Sanji
trying to grab
You're right. I didn't even see it that
way. I just read it as Sanji being
jealous about Nami cozying up and
getting close with the turtle, but
you're absolutely right. Mr. Oda son is
in his bag. I love that idea so much
that this is another way that Oda is
subtly hinting to us that Sanji is going
for the king. He's after that
Conqueror's Haki. And then it also makes
sense that Nami is involved there,
because it could link to all of the
insecurities, and it could link to all
of that internal conflict Sanji has
about who he is as a person, about his
family's history, about his relationship
with women. The IQ in this chat is high,
too high. When is my birth My birthday's
on the 23rd of July. So, it's always the
day after One Piece Day, which is why I
was saying that we're going to do a
joint celebration. In the final
flashback chapter for Loki, he said that
each covenant comes at a price for him.
Uh yes, I get that, but my question is
does a holy knight getting killed or
holy knight getting hurt, Does that
affect Im-sama? Does that weaken him?
Because I don't think that that was ever
said. Is Im-sama still saying that they
don't have the time for training? Even
if they can't beat Im-sama, they send
him away by killing Killing 'Em and
Summers. I see the huff huff puffs, but
the way that I interpreted that was that
he was saying like he was angry at what
was happening. He was shook at what had
happened at the news that like someone
of Harold's caliber had died. Cuz he
says it's only going to be the death of
more knights if we send them. And
performing the covenant inflicts a cost
on Im-sama as well. Not necessarily that
if more knights die, then that will
inflict a cost on Im-sama. Like from
what we've seen of Im-sama in this
chapter, what we've seen of Im-sama in
this arc, I guess maybe Killing Killing
'Em and Summers will affect Im-sama as
well. But I don't know to the extent
that it will make him necessarily have
to retreat. I can see it going both
ways. I'm undecided if that is going to
be the way. I would love it if that was
the case though. If that is the case
that Zoro and Sanji are able to defeat
Killing 'Em and Summers, and that's sort
of the final draw for Im-sama. That
makes him realize now I've got to go
back to Mary Geoise to regain my
strength because I've left it for too
long. It's taking way too much of a toll
on my body. I would love to see that,
you know, the Straw Hats were able to
indirectly defeat Im-sama in that way.
And I guess it does give us a little bit
more of an insight as to how to defeat
Im-sama going forward because it means
that, you know, in the final war all the
Straw Hats, all allied pirates, new
alliance they're going to come up with
in the final war are going to have to do
is just to defeat all of Im-sama's
minions, defeat all of the Holy Knights,
defeat the Gorosei who are surely easier
to defeat than Im-sama himself, and then
that will strip Im-sama of his powers.
Can see it. We've got two options how
the Elbaf arc might flow. So number one
is that Im-sama has to leave, and
because he realizes, "Huh, there's
nothing more to do here. I am going to
leave it to Summers and Killing Him. You
guys defeat these puny Straw Hats, these
puny pirates who think that they are
have the strength when they clearly
don't." So that he could sustain his
body back to Mary Geoise, whereas
Killing Him and Summers are too
overconfident because they have just
been granted Im strength, not realizing
that Zoro has the ability to genuinely
slice up Summers' steel heart, and that
Sanji will, in fact, awaken his
Conqueror's Haki. And so just as they're
about to kidnap the Elbafian children,
Zoro and Sanji step up and defeat
Summers and Killing Him, eventually
leaving Elbaf safe for the moment, and
then allowing time for Loki and Luffy to
rest and get the training arc that they
need before they can continue this
journey to defeating Im in the final
war. So that's option number one. Option
number two, Im stays and is about to
say, "Okay, we've got to wrap this up.
Come on, let's go." And then, during
that moment, the Straw Hats come to keep
Im at bay just as he's about to really
kill Loki and Luffy off for sure. I
mean, Gabann is here as well, so
Gabann's probably going to get involved.
I assume that, you know, the other giant
warriors are going to get involved.
Perhaps there are even players from the
astral world that come down yet, because
that astral world is such a mystery that
we're going to have to solve, that we're
going to have to see at some stage. But
anyways, it's the Straw Hats that are
able to keep Im at bay, and decisively
it's Zoro and Sanji who, again, are
going to defeat Summers and Killing Him.
And if it is true that damage sustained
by the Holy Knights also inflicts damage
upon Im himself, then that is what's
going to make Im realize, "Okay, no
crap, we've got to get out of here
because I have spent way too long. I've
given you my strength, and then you guys
have been defeated. It's affecting me,
too. Huff. Huff. Huff. Let's get out of
here." And that is how the Elbaf arc is
going to end. Again, allowing Loki and
Luffy training for the future. I can see
it going both ways.
