Video summary

Yella Beezy, whose real name is Marquise Conway, is set to return to court for a second day of testimony regarding his capital murder charges related to the 2020 killing of fellow Dallas rapper Mo 3. During this proceeding, his legal team has requested that the judge exclude several of his rap songs from evidence, arguing that jurors might mistakenly interpret lyrical content and stage personas as real-life admissions of guilt. To support this motion, the defense called an expert on hip-hop music who testified that rap storytelling often relies on exaggerated characters, drawing a parallel to professional wrestlers who maintain their personas long after a performance ends. This strategy aims to prevent the jury from conflating artistic expression with factual evidence in the trial. A significant development in the case involves the testimony of Keewon White, also known as Key Glock, who is scheduled to testify before Yella Beezy. The hosts discuss how White's upcoming appearance could potentially shift the narrative, suggesting that if White takes full responsibility for the crime, it might clear Yella Beezy of direct involvement. There is speculation that this sequence of events could lead to a reduction in Yella Beezy's bond or provide him with a legal break, as the focus may move toward holding White accountable. However, the hosts also note the strategic nature of these moves, questioning why the prosecution would pursue a lengthy trial if they believed the defendant was solely responsible for orchestrating the killing without ties to Mo 3. Despite some perceived leniency regarding evidence and witness order, the situation remains complex with numerous moving parts that could turn against Yella Beezy. The hosts point out inconsistencies in the case details, such as conflicting stories about tattoos and physical descriptions of the shooter, while noting that other individuals like Rain Water are facing separate legal troubles involving asset seizures and lawsuits. They emphasize that murder cases do not have a statute of limitations, meaning authorities can revisit old evidence years later, which adds to the uncertainty surrounding the trial. The discussion highlights the high stakes involved, with the potential for new witnesses and shifting testimonies making it difficult to predict the final outcome for all parties involved in the Mo 3 case.

[music] >> Yeah, we on Boss Talk TV. Shout out to E Heater, reason you see >> Marquise Con So, Yella Beezy, whose real name is Marquise Conway, will be back in court this morning for a second day of testimony. His attorneys are asking the judge to keep several rap songs out of evidence, arguing jurors could mistake lyrics and stage personas for real-life admissions. Conway has pleaded not guilty to capital murder. Prosecutors accused him of orchestrating the 2020 killing of fellow Dallas rapper Mo 3. Yesterday, the defense called an expert on rap music, who testified that rap often tells stories through exaggerated characters, comparing artists to professional wrestlers, who stay in character long after the performance and >> Let me stop right there. Man, guys, Yella Beezy just got some great news, man. Uh he got some great news. Yella Beezy's legal trouble just got a little lighter. But, the Mo 3 case definitely isn't going anywhere. It says uh the "That's on Me" rapper allegedly with drew 40,000 in cash just days before Mo 3 was slain on Interstate 35 in Texas. It says his bond may have been lowered from 2 million to 750,000, but the odds are are evidently still stacked against Yella Beezy. Uh it says it's talking about Thursday It says the Dallas rapper appeared in court, and when he did, Graciela Lewis reviewed the capital murder for uh remuneration uh and charged it with connection to 2020 shooting of fellow home uh hero hometown hero Mo 3. Uh and as y'all know, his grandmama stepped up during that time, and basically uh you know, she she hooked him up. And all this stuff has happened, but now Yella Beezy is basically uh he he got a break cuz the other boy got to go first. I know OG said that it's a bad thing, but if this guy gets up there, and and this thing become all about him, it's not such a bad thing. I didn't agree with OG on that after I further thought about it. OG, are you there? >> I'm I'm Yeah, I'm listening to you. The judge I can hear >> Wait a minute. The judge Louis But So, it's a little easier on him and instead of a little harder on him. If that man is going before him >> Once he easy. Once he easy. >> Well, if the guy goes before him and he takes all of the blame for it, he don't have to worry about it when he go up there. It's like you already know he didn't have nothing to do with it. That could be blowed out the water. >> If was a fifth, we'd all be drunk. >> But it could it could be blowed out the water, right? It could be blowed out the water now because uh Keewon White could go in there and mess this whole thing up. You don't have to make it the way it's easy on Yella Beezy. So, I thought about that and I said, you know what? I'm going to check OG about that when I do get to talk to him about it. I'm going to have to let him know the truth how I feel about it in my heart. >> That's not the That's not the truth. >> Why is it not the truth, OG? >> That's That's your opinion [clears throat] and you have no educated opinion about law. You're You're a a novice that just deal with emotions, not real life. And so, it is a plan and I stand on what when that man gets to court if he was going to take the beef, he wouldn't even be going to trial. He'd just say, "I'm guilty." Why do you think they would do a whole trial in Texas to for somebody to just say, "Oh, I would have did it single-handedly." And he has no ties to Mo 3. It doesn't even sound logical. Now, think about it sometime, bro. >> So, you you trying to tell me it doesn't sound logical when he's But he going because he's fighting it, but in that fight, he could make some horrible horrible mistakes to where it points the finger more at him showing that he was the one that orchestrated it all together. So, you don't know which way it's going go. That courtroom, you and I both know how it can go either way. >> going to go that way. We know it ain't going to go that way. >> Well, I mean it's a reason why they pulled Trap Boy Freddy's information away from him. It's a reason why they basically uh put this list together. You and I both agree that it was no way they going to put 200 and some odd, almost 300 people on no damn stand. So, this is a lot of stuff where it looks like a lot of reaching going on at some point here, too. I know a lot of the uh the Mo Threep the Mo Three uh sectors going to say this and say that when I say cuz they they they always want me to pick a side. I never pick a side in this stuff. And so, at the end of the day when I see uh uh uh things that look crazy to me, it's like, "Wait a minute. Why why are they pulling certain people away? Why are they now adding 70 more witnesses to this? Why are they doing It's a lot of moving parts here, and it's all been orchestrated in the public eye." Now, his grandma definitely pushes a punch down there, but at the end of the day, um this case is going to be already it's something everybody already been able to view and voice their opinion on over 6 years. So, you don't really know what's going to happen in there. But one thing I can rest assured on is Keefe D has been talking a lot on these interviews, a lot. I mean, he's been telling people about the Boosie shooting. He's been telling people about all kind of stuff that where he was driving. Why would he be so involved in this stuff if he didn't have nothing to do with it? So, at the end of the day, a lot of people saying he didn't have a tattoo on his neck. He did, he didn't. He's not as tall as the guy that jumped out the car. You hear all of these stories, but yet and still, when his time was up in that federal penitentiary, they locking him into this Mo Three deal right now to where he can get caught up in the situation where they felt like he was from the very beginning. So, OG all this you don't know, I do I can tell you this much it's not going to be hard for Yella Beezy to see the handwriting on the wall after this is over. Do you agree with me on that? He going to understand a little more what they got on him because of this K1 going first, right? >> Of course. >> So, that's the good part for me to for him to see that. That that hey man, this might not you know, they don't have this. They got that. And then the fact that they not using certain lyrics. There was certain songs that was way worse that they the judge decided they weren't even going to bring them them songs in. Because the songs that that the laugh now, all those songs they they can't bring those up. Now, they do got a couple that where Yella Beezy, you know, it may have been a little bit in it but not not nothing like that take three. So, all of this stuff starting to filter down to we been waiting for six years. But again, it scares me. It scares me on the fact of how to how they can wait and then they can come back and they can still put this stuff together cuz you always tell me they ain't no ain't no stat not something about murder. It ain't no what do you what do you tell me about that OG? >> No statute of limitation. >> Yeah, it ain't it ain't it ain't now. So, you can come back 50 years, 100 years. When it comes to murder. Huh? >> I don't care if they did it last year or they can pull them back up. >> So, when when it comes down to the the to the the Mo3 case and the and and and who was all in this, there's also other people I feel like will be pulled into this thing. But after it's all said and done, you know, I know having Rain Water over there on the show he said he can't he got to get in there and say his part and say his peace. He also came up the other day and and and him and his lawyer done filed a motion against Yella Beezy to give up cuz he did that song about money. Now they want him to give over his jewelry and to give over his assets for this lawsuit that that Rain had put in. So, this thing ain't letting up for the for for for Yella Beezy, but I thought it was a lighter note that they basically um is now saying, "Hey, man, I ain't going to let them put certain music in there. Hey, man, Key Glock white gets to go first. Hey, man, it's a lot of hey-manning going on here for this case for some reason." I can't wait to see what happened. I think it'll be a uh uh the bridge for for for the city once everything is put behind in a few months. We'll see what the city like after that. But, I thank God we ain't like them people on the West Coast or sorry, the East Coast. We really uh trying to put this stuff behind us. OG, I hope you caught that that that straight I hit you dead in the stomach. >> [laughter] >> That was That was a robbery right there. >> It didn't connect. It didn't connect, but I Well, y'all get in the comments, man. I just want to give y'all a update. Go ahead. >> We ain't doing We ain't doing that that bad as y'all doing with the Big U case. And that's the biggest catastrophe we have. >> No, no, no, no. Y'all got more. Y'all got more. It's >> Y'all got more moving parts on foolishness than I've ever seen this. This is a shame. >> That Drakeo the Ruler case is is definitely heating up right now. So, you don't want to say that. You got a Drakeo the Ruler uh case is heating up out there, and we know it. I just don't hadn't talked about it much. But, it it is heating up. It's heating up. It's heating up. It's heating up. >> Yella Yella Beezy is going to court. >> It's heating up, brother. You know it's heating up. I didn't say no names. I'm just telling you it's heating up from what I see. >> I say It's heating up. That's all I'm telling you. It's heating up out there. And we will see some stuff come down the pipe. So, don't even trip. Pipeline coming. You don't have to worry about it. Y'all all what Y'all never fail us. Tupac ends up getting killed on the West Coast. Biggie from New York ends up getting killed on the West Coast. It We don't have bigger killings as y'all have up there. So, let's just be real about it. I'm not going to go back and forth with you about it. But, y'all have done some stuff up there. You tore your own stores up. We know what happened up there. And there you know, and then you and y'all smash and grab it all day long up there. So, when it come down to what y'all do, you do it a little worse than us and you know it. Oh, don't don't try to say scamming, you know what I'm saying? >> [laughter] >> Y'all get in the comments. Let me know what y'all think, man. Do y'all feel like it's things are getting a little bit lighter on y'all because they're adding 70 uh more people and they're trying to figure out ways to uh uh we ain't going to add the music. Is this getting easier on y'all or is this getting harder on y'all? Y'all need to let me know that, guys, right here in in the in the in the comments. And if y'all have been watching this young lady from the Love & Hip Hop show, she just got hit on some scamming for 198,000. I think she was from Compton. Uh y'all have to watch it. It's right here.
