Will I Be With My Husband In Heaven? | Hard Questions
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video addresses a heartfelt question about whether an individual will be reunited with their deceased husband in heaven, specifically noting that he passed away from COVID years ago. The pastor begins by clarifying a crucial theological prerequisite: both spouses must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to enter heaven together. If this condition is met for the couple, they are guaranteed reunion; however, it is important to understand that marriage itself does not continue in its earthly form after death. According to Scripture, particularly Matthew 22:30, there will be no marriages in the resurrection because believers will instead exist like angels of God, free from sin and human institutions.
Despite the absence of marital status in heaven, the pastor emphasizes that this reality should not diminish hope or love for one's spouse. On the contrary, relationships with those we have loved on earth will deepen significantly in eternity without the hindrance of sin. The earthly marriage is described as merely a poor imitation of the perfect unity and intimacy that believers will experience in God's presence. Therefore, while the legal bond of matrimony ends at death, the emotional connection and knowledge of one another will be far greater than ever before, allowing for a closer relationship with both the spouse and God Himself.
Regarding the location of heaven, the discussion shifts from viewing it as a distant physical place to understanding it as a spiritual realm existing in a different dimension entirely. The pastor explains that Revelation 21 speaks of a new heaven and a new earth replacing the current ones, indicating that our present sky is not where God resides but rather part of an old creation that will pass away. Heaven cannot be reached by traveling through space or time because it operates outside physical laws; instead, it is akin to other biblical instances like Stephen seeing Jesus standing at God's right hand while dying on earth.
Ultimately, the video concludes that heaven should not be visualized as a location billions of light-years away but rather as an immediate spiritual presence where God dwells. This perspective aligns with accounts in Scripture where individuals were granted glimpses into this higher realm during their earthly lives. The assurance given to those who ask is one of confident reunion for saved believers, promising that the love shared on earth will be perfected and expanded infinitely in eternity within a dimension accessible only through faith rather than physical travel.

My question is
when I leave this world, my husband
passed away several years ago of COVID,
can I be guaranteed that I will be with
my husband? And
where is heaven?
>> Well, Pastor Glaze is going to answer
this. Maybe her husband's invisible,
too. No, I'm just kidding. I'm just
kidding.
>> Well, yeah, I just have a quick story.
There was a rich guy
uh that was sick, and he told his wife,
"You know, whenever I die, to put my
riches go to bank put my riches in the
uh in the attic, and I'll get them on
the way up."
So, the funeral took place, and she
remembered what he said, and she went up
in the attic, and the riches were still
there. She said, "Maybe I should have
put them in the basement."
>> Oh, oh, oh. Wow.
>> [laughter]
>> Wow.
>> Anyway.
But, you know, that you know, I know
that's this is a serious question. I
just wanted to get that in. I just you
know, a little levity, man. But, uh you
know, uh the fact of the matter is is
first of all, you and your husband have
to be saved.
>> Yes.
>> You know that if if if you are saved and
have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord
and Savior, if your husband has accepted
uh both of you will be in heaven.
Now, the fact is Jesus said this himself
that there's no marriage in heaven.
So, as much as I love Angie Glaze, and
uh I love that woman with all my heart,
as as much as I love Angie Glaze, when I
get to heaven, we won't be married
anymore.
>> Okay.
>> You know, we'll be we'll know that we
were married here on this earth. You
know, we'll share a lot of memories that
we had in marriage, but we will not be
married when we get to heaven. So, she
will see her husband again if both of
them were saved. Uh it's just that, you
know, God will not recognize them as
being a married couple in heaven.
>> That's right.
>> He he'll recognize the fact that they
were married on this earth, you know,
but in heaven there's there's no
marriage.
>> Right. Plus the scripture, Matthew
22:29, Jesus answered and said to them,
"You are mistaken, not knowing the
scriptures nor the power of God. For in
the resurrection, they'll neither marry
nor be given in marriage, but like the
angels of God in heaven." So, there'll
be no marriage, but here's a thought
that I I threw in here.
You'll be with him as an overcomer,
>> Mhm.
>> but not as a marriage partner.
If you're saved.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh you you'll definitely be there, but
that relationship with God is going to
be so much more, so much more.
>> I I have to ask you guys though, what
about that second part? Where is heaven?
I mean, that was part of the question,
too. Any thoughts?
>> I can quickly and I'll throw it right
back to you. You know, one of the things
that when people think of heaven, like
where we're going to spend forever, that
heaven isn't there yet. Cuz in
Revelation 21, it says there's a new
heaven and new earth, for the first
heaven and first earth have passed away.
So, now we have the the first heaven,
which is considered uh the where the sky
and then then the second heaven, outer
space, and then third heaven is
wherever, how far out there is that you
can go to get out there to where God is.
And so, those are um I want people to
realize that that first heaven though is
going to be gone where God is now, and
there's a new one and new earth that's
going to be created.
>> I'll say something about that, but let
me just the first part real quick. Um
yes, I I agree with the guys that
they're not going to be married in
heaven. We're not married. That's why
the vows are till death do us part when
we do the vows. Um but, I do want to say
this to her, you will actually love your
husband more in heaven than you love him
now. You'll know him more. You'll have a
closer relationship. You know, marriage
is a is a a poor imitation of the the
oneness that we'll have in heaven
without sin. And ever So, so don't think
oh, it's going to be less. It's going to
be better. But, I would say I I look at
heaven more as like a another dimension
that we are not allowed to see into. Not
as a place per se, um but like when
Stephen was seeing, you know, he's he's
dying and he looks up and he sees Jesus
standing at the right hand. He was
allowed to see that. He was there. Or
you know, Elisha showing the servant all
those chariots that were there. You
know, like uh that's the way I look at
it. It's not like 60 billion kazillion
light years somewhere. Heaven could
break in whenever God wants.
>> If I could say this real quick cuz I
think you hit the nail on the head that
heaven is in a almost like a different
realm, you know, because if you could
get on a spaceship and travel far enough
eventually you could get to heaven and
that can never happen. So I think heaven
is in another dimension, you know, just
you know, whenever we die, you know,
it's it's not a place that we can
>> It's a spiritual realm different from
the physical realm.
>> Exactly. So that's great great great
discussion and thank you for the
question.
