Video summary
The video addresses the current state of GPU pricing in the Philippines, noting that while official supplier prices have recently increased by approximately 30%, some retailers are still selling stock at older, lower rates due to existing inventory. The host explains that this creates a temporary window where consumers can still purchase cards like the RTX 3060 and RTX 5060 at pre-spike prices before these old stocks run out. Although the data presented reflects these older prices, it serves as a crucial benchmark for buyers who need to act quickly, as the market is expected to fully adjust to the new higher costs within less than a month. The analysis highlights that while Nvidia GPU prices are rising significantly across the board, AMD options remain relatively stable, offering better value for money during this transitional period.
Specific price comparisons reveal that mid-range cards like the RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 have seen substantial increases, with the latter reaching its highest recorded price ever around 45,000 pesos. In contrast, AMD's RX 9060 XT 16GB stands out as a highly attractive alternative at approximately 28,000 pesos, offering superior performance and modern AI upscaling features compared to older Nvidia models like the RTX 3060. The transcript also touches on CPU markets, which are showing much less volatility with only minor price drops or increases for specific models like the Core Ultra 9 285K, while noting that certain retailers currently lack online stock for popular CPUs despite having them in physical stores.
Looking ahead, the host advises against waiting for holiday sales, citing historical data from several years of tracking which shows that GPU prices typically do not drop in December due to supply chain pressures and retailer markups. The recent price hikes are attributed to upstream supplier increases rather than retailer greed, creating a domino effect that pushes costs onto consumers. With additional pressure coming from rising RAM and storage prices, the market is expected to remain volatile for at least the next few months until prices stabilize. Consequently, the most practical advice for buyers needing a new PC right now is to purchase immediately if they can find Nvidia GPUs at current rates or to switch to AMD hardware like the RX 9060 XT to secure better performance per peso before the price increases fully propagate through all retail channels.

The muscle with prices of my GPUs, so
why am I advising to buy now? Actually,
out of date now you can price watch data
nothing. We updated it at the start of
the month. But also at the start of the
month, so that we can get an suppliers
not that that with your pressure on my
Nvidia GPUs by around 30%. So this data
that we're showing you is technically
out of date, but it will be basically
untouched pre-spike prices. So we're
still showing you the data now because
if you can still find GPUs at these
prices and you need a GPU, you've been
thinking about getting a GPU, but we
like it now at these prices because for
sure that that now you can it's also an
interesting experiment to see how
quickly my update your GPU prices. So to
master that August 1, how many months?
Less than a month will it take before
prices catch up to the new supplier
price. So again, these prices are out of
date based on what the suppliers are
selling to stores right now, but they
might not be out of date for what a
customer can actually buy. Because I can
bring you a store with my at the old
price but my bite my money store like
hardware sugar didn't let me ask you
price. So same mark up based on the old
price or boosting money in the old stock
before they get to the new stock bought
at the new higher prices. If you are new
to price watch this is the episode we do
once a month where we look at the GPU
and CPU prices of the top four largest
retailers in the country so that we can
get an average sense. How much would a
customer pay if you're looking at these
specific models. So we'll get right to
the data right after this ad.
I have less than 30 seconds to tell you
about our sponsor. We can tell you
we've bought hundreds of Windows keys
from them and that we use them all the
time in the shop. We can tell you that
we have local payment options so it's
super easy for us here in the
Philippines for a minute.
>> [music]
>> I could say that they're super easy to
use but I can tell you something.
If you buy directly from Microsoft, your
Windows activation key is 15,000 pesos.
The sponsor nothing less than 2,000.
Use our discount code HS25. [music]
That's it.
That's the ad.
All right, as always we'll start with
the summarized data, but I wanted to
give you an idea of how much the prices
are now. So, I prepared a very
price
sheet. So, based on current supplier
prices, these would be the retail prices
of some of these cards. So, you have the
3060 at around 25,815.
You notice that 3,000 pesos more than
the listed price for the August price
watch sheet.
Actually, it's closer to 26.
And it was closer to 23. So, 23 to go up
to 26. Trying to do it in my head. 30%
of 23 would roughly be a 6,000 peso
increase. So, it's not 20 It's not 30%
in fairness.
Around 20% only.
And then we have the 5060. So, this is
the cheapest that we could find. Current
supplier prices and then retail price
now would be 29,000.
So, when we get to the popular more
recent cards, you will notice that the
price increase is around 23 based on the
price watch data, but you know, if they
were to update their prices, it's at 29
now. So, 23 to 29.
5070 Ti. I only have three cards now.
I looked at the current prices.
Although, the 4070 is around 44, I
think. Sorry, 5070 rather.
Which is not too bad. Wait, I will
check. So, we made a quote for
somebody today. Let me just check.
Not yet, Gooby.
So, a 5070 would be around 45,000.
Not too bad. Well, 10% increase from its
price last month. So, was 41 making 45.
But, even the updated prices for this
month at the start of the month 43 each.
And in the 50 70 TI, actually the
Grab a new price increases new 50 60 TI
50 60 TI
35. I think the price now would be
We actually have in Hardware Sugar. So,
start of the month 56 60 TI 16 GB around
35,000.
Then, we have it for 36 650. So, not too
bad naman. But, definitely an increase
at 10 per task.
You can see it here on the game 33.
June, now it's at 36 650 for a PNY 36
TI. Sorry, 50 60 TI 16 GB. And then,
lastly for the pin up updated prices the
50 70 TI
wild range and wild price increase. So,
at the start
of the month we were tracking it
to around 62 700.
But, now current prices from suppliers
the cheapest we could get is the
colorful at around 72K, which jumps to
76K for the pallet. And then, if you
want a gigabyte it's already at 82,000
for the 50 70 TI. Like I mentioned at
the introduction, if you want to buy and
you can find these prices now cuz they
measure pre-increased prices but though
you might want to pull the trigger
already. All right, so we'll go through
these are you know ideal prices. We'll
go through them. There's no data for the
1650. To be honest, I really should
update some of the models that we track
cuz they 1650 now we're learning data.
I don't feed the guys at the shop.
And then, 40 60 no data. Although,
that's been only for 2 months. Maybe
we'll still be able to find models.
So, 1650
no data, 3050 slight price decrease,
very slight long. 3060 12 GB
price increase and then you as mentioned
the current prices now if they've
updated their prices the other stores
must be able to get it. 5060 price
increase. Again, as mentioned 5060 TI 16
GB.
So, the cheapest we could find at the
start of the month is around 35,100.
We have it at Hardware Sugar for just
slightly more like 1,400 pesos or so
more at 36,650.
So, may supply naman. It's just that the
prices have gone up. 5070 as mentioned
price is also went up.
And if you look at the updated price of
around 45k it's the most expensive we've
seen it ever. So, we've seen it we
started tracking it last year April so
at 40k
went down all the way to around 37,400.
Now we're back up to 45k.
5070 TI
if you can find it at this price 62,700
and you need that card billing Mona. Cuz
as mentioned you know these are the
latest prices.
We have the cheapest would be at 72k.
Not not great.
5080
slightly went down but the 5080 has also
gone up. I just haven't updated it.
Again, based on the latest supplier
numbers. 5090 is a quarter of a million
pesos.
Although at least
312,000 not like June. So, again these
are the average prices. We're trying to
get you a snapshot of the market. So,
you can find higher you might be able to
find lower but these are the average
prices.
Just you know you can get a sense of
where the market is now. I mentioned in
the intro
are the Nvidia GPUs. If you've been
following local news also, may you have
been told that if kids appear in videos
they should be paid or something. Child
labor in the videos.
Kids in the videos. To be honest, if my
if I could get my kids not to appear in
the videos, I would, but they just keep
wandering into the camera. Plus
no class today because of the rains.
So, this is not labor. Like if I could
get rid of them, I would get rid of
them.
for the YouTube videos. But anyway,
Nvidia GPUs went up average around 30%
and AMD GPUs should not have gone up.
Although we have seen at least one major
supplier but not too much
so actually AMD GPUs are again good
value for money. Not because the prices
have gone down because the Nvidia GPUs
have gone crazy.
You know, the prices made for you know,
for kind of mid-range GPU 5060 spend a
little bit more 5060 TI. The prices are
quite expensive now. So, the 9060 XT 16
GB is looking very attractive.
Especially the price hasn't changed at
28,000 pesos. If you can find it at this
price. Actually you usually stock has
also gone up for the 9060 9060 XT 16 GB
So, that's the Hellhound. It's 27,050.
Actually still cheaper than the average
price that we're showing from the four
largest retailers. So, 9060 XT 16 GB at
around this price very good bang for
your buck now at this point in time
especially compared to the Nvidia GPUs.
9070 price went up just very slightly.
9070 XT price also went up by around 5%
by around 2,000. Not not too great. But
it all this one 9060 XT 16 GB 28K from
us 27K. Okay now you can see you have
the 5060 is 29,000. And the 9600 XT 16
gigabytes VRAM pa lang, lamang ka na.
Plus, you know, it is a bit faster than
the 5060, I think, in the benchmarks in
most games. Intel RIP to their GPUs.
Wala na. We can't find them anymore.
This is the fourth month running that we
have no data. Moving on to CPUs. CPUs
really less volatile. Price decrease.
9800 X3D decent price difference, around
2,000 price drop.
No price difference anymore for the rest
of the models that we track. 7800 X3D,
7600 X, 5600 X, 5600 G, all no price
changes at least. On the Intel side,
price increase slightly for their top
king of the hill, Core Ultra 9 285K at
42,000.
4900K 37,500.
That's a big price increase, around
10%. No data. Still haven't been able to
find the 14700K. And then, no price
change for the Core Ultra 7 265KF.
So, that's a summary.
I already said it before in the intro.
If you can find GPUs still at these
prices, and you know, you're in the
market,
um
you you you've been waiting. Prices
are only going to get higher. Maybe
in the next 3 months. Because of the
price increase in Nvidia. Plus, you have
Christmas coming along. Historically,
and again, we have the data for this,
because we've been doing this for
several years already. GPU prices do not
drop in December. So, you might
Christmas sales, well, the Grinch in my
brands.
And to be fair, I don't even blame it on
the brands. I blame it, you know, Nvidia
Nvidia
price increase. So, give it to my
brands. I've talked to just last week I
was talking to ASUS. You know, ASUS
doesn't want to increase prices. They
know it's expensive.
Where they get it from has raised
prices, so ripple effect you're on or
domino effect which will extend to the
retailers, which will extend to the
customers. Bottom line, if you're in the
market for a GPU, don't wait. If you can
find NVIDIA GPUs roughly at these
prices,
these are already good prices to buy
because prices at least on the retailer
distributor to retailer end.
For shop deep dive tayo, where did we
get these summaries? So, we don't give
other shops free publicity, we hide them
under aliases.
So, the wedge that we were tracking all
the way
October 2022 is the same wedge up to
now.
Roy too Roy Folker from Robotech, but
then we changed it to Husker. We changed
shops, so we changed names. Husker, of
course, is from Battlestar Galactica.
So, for wedge wedge is all price
increases for GPUs. So, that's the 3060
12 GB
even the older models are not being
spared.
Lot price increase. 5060 for sure. This
is actually still a very good price for
a 5060 now. And it's a gigabyte eagle at
23,000. Very good price but then even
though price increase sure compared to
last month.
And last month was also a price
increase.
Increase for the 5070
and the 5070 TI. But again, if you can
find a 5070 TI at this price
that's that's good. Husker price
increase for the 3060 12 GB price
decrease actually for the 5070.
Yep.
Increase for the 570
Ti and 5090. No price changes though for
the AMD models, which is good. It's a
Joker very weird new stock. So they have
a lot of GPUs that are sold out at least
for the online store price list and then
price decrease though. This is a
although in line with the other 3050 in
line with the other 3050 that we've
seen. Price increase for the 56 24 150.
Still a good price. You can find it now.
And then price increases for their AMD
cards. So AMD cards have gone up for
some retailers, but just very slightly.
Like 44 750 44 400 last month from the
same store. So see wash
No stock for the 1650 3060 12 gigabyte
and the 4060. No stock actually also for
the 9060 XE 16 gigabytes and the 9070.
For sure us we will keep stocking the
9060 XT 16 gigabytes as soon as possible
because that's the best bang for your
buck at this point.
But slight price increase
like last month it was 45 650.
Now it's 45 695.
So 45 peso difference. Very small price
increase.
Moving on to CPUs.
I just wanted to highlight
because they don't have any of the CPUs
that we're currently tracking. I don't
know why. They have some stores but
online stock
actually on hand shop. I need to get a
new hardware sugar because I don't see
the logic in that. You know what I mean?
So whatever we have on stock in the shop
is also what we display on our website.
I don't know if that is also the policy
of Joker. What I do know is that if you
go to the website, all of this is well
sold out seller.
Very little price movement on the CPU
side of things.
Which one?
Not yet. Not yet. So, that's the market
in a nutshell. SSD prices still okay
then. I see RAM prices went up also.
Storage prices just a little bit, but
you RAM you must must have it and then
now you have currently the GPUs. Where
we were before cuz this all started
around December pocket and pocket.
Terrible your sales now men around
Feb. Although major after Christmas is
really a slow period, but people had to
really adjust to the prices. And then
major okay now let your sales around
June, July. July actually was quite
good. So, we think now people got used
already to the prices. Major tongue up
the number tower now. Well, prices will
not go down better at least next
stabilize. But now with the recent RAM
increase, with the recent GPU price
increase
My hero
I'm just going to be an adjustment
period again. My Google is your matter
or now or my cat with your my prices.
Well, it's just really that's the state
of the market at the moment. There's
very little we can do, but what you can
do is buy AMD. That's an easy way of
getting a good GPU at a good price at
this point in time. 9060 XT 16 GB. You
know, it it might be a bit more
expensive if you're looking at the old
price of the 5060. We've had people
asking about the 6600.
Definitely you 9060 XT 16 GB is not in
that
price frame, that price reference point.
But if you look at the 5060 now,
definitely just get the 9060 XT 16 GB.
If you wanted to sign a slower GPU, well
I it's it's really
after the 5060, and about 3060
12 GB at around 24K or so. But, just a
bit more
just a little bit more. You know, 20
it's this is 26 with us. Just 2,000
pesos more
you get a modern GPU, the latest model
from AMD. So, you have all of the latest
AI upscaling technologies that possible.
Compared to the 3060
it has less VRAM and it can't do some of
the other AI upscaling tech because you
know, to be fair, it's from two
generations ago. 50 series at up to us.
We're still considering the 3060
12 GB model. What's the easiest way to
save money on a GPU right now?
It's to buy the 960 XT 16 GB.
Is it a bit more expensive than your
budget? It might be, but you might be
getting more bang for your buck. You
know, price to performance yeah, might
be better compared to everything else
now on the market. And you can get it
for around 26K, 27K. That's pretty good.
It will not be good news next month.
But, from an academic point of view, I'm
curious to see how quickly my propagate
you. How quickly my ripple out you price
increases because definitely we've had
it on the supplier side already starting
August 1. From the retail side, I'm
curious to see how long that will take.
But, if you're in the market, you can
find GPUs at these prices but
now is the time to buy.
And if you're looking to buy PC parts
from, to buy a whole rig from, please do
consider Hydra Sugar. Thanks for
watching.
