Video summary
The video features an interview with Mr. George Ruto, popularly known as GK, who is attending the Miss International Kenya 2026 pageant alongside his initiative, 82. During the conversation, he explains that his organization decided to sponsor the event after recognizing the significant teamwork and effort required for such a large-scale production. He highlights their "Grow the Game" initiative, which aims to expand beyond football by partnering with organizations in various fields, noting that this collaboration is a successful test of their ability to work across different sectors.
When asked about the definition of beauty, GK argues that it extends far beyond physical appearance, emphasizing that true beauty lies in one's intellect, character, and how they treat others. He believes that while physical looks add flavor, the essence of beauty is found in who a person is as an individual. The interviewer playfully challenges him to choose between beauty or brains, but GK insists that both qualities go hand-in-hand, acknowledging that while men may be visual learners, intelligence and personality are equally important for a complete definition of attractiveness.
A significant portion of the discussion addresses the viral comments on social media regarding marriage and his identity as the president's son. GK clarifies that he does not believe one can find a life partner through social media, stating that marriage is a lifelong agreement that requires more than online interaction. He admits to managing most of his own social media engagement himself because he understands how to relate to people his age and enjoy the fun of trending topics, though he acknowledges assistance from his team member, Muli.
Finally, GK reflects on the unique challenges faced by young people in getting their ideas accepted due to a lack of experience, noting that being the son of the president provides a certain level of credibility or "insurance" for new ventures. He explains that while this background helps others buy into his projects, he remains cautious and deliberate before engaging in any business move because of the potential repercussions. The interview concludes with him expressing pride in his team's efforts and confirming that their sponsorship of the pageant is a genuine partnership rather than a mere publicity stunt.

You have been an internet sensation
through through Teacher Silah's
videos.
For like two Ume figiwa jamani for like
two weeks now. So, has Teacher Silah
convinced you about marriage so far? And
number two, the comments we saw on her
post, are those comments yours ama ni
social media manager?
>> No, that's a trick question. So,
>> Eh, hizo ni maswali mbili kwanza.
>> Question one, you know, marriage is a
is a is a long is a life-long agreement
you have with someone.
So, you can't just meet someone on
social media and you know, agree on
social media.
Uh, so no. Um, I think it's just social
media hype.
>> Miss International Kenya 2026 and right
here with me is a Mr. George Ruto,
popularly known as GK. Hi, GK.
>> Hi, how are you?
>> Good. Thank you. It's a good to see you
at a beauty pageant. How does it feel to
be here?
>> Um,
thanks for having me. Thanks to Miss
International. I think
uh
I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to see
the event. I've just arrived. So, I
think I'll give you a brief after I see
what happens. Yeah.
>> Now, we have seen Moods and you've been
part of, you know, the matatu community.
Why was it Why was Mood here? And also,
I've seen 82 here. So, how did you get
to the point where you believe in the
beauty pageant to a point of sponsoring
it?
>> So,
I was involved in the planning of the
pageant. And I saw how much effort,
teamwork, you know, sponsorship it
takes. So, we sat down with my team. We
decided we'll sponsor in any way we can.
So, we assisted with the transport
logistics. 82, we have our initiative
called Grow the Game. So, growing the
game, we're trying to expand from
football and see how we can partner with
other organizations in different fields.
So, this was a good fit.
Uh we're testing the waters. Um
so far, so good. Um so proud of the
team. They brought it all together
really well. And uh I think 82 will be a
partner for quite some time.
>> Aha. Now, what is beauty according to
you? What's the definition?
>> Um I think
uh that's a that's a tricky question.
>> I want to hear your perspective.
>> Of course. Of course, they say beauty
lies in the eyes of the beholder. But, I
think beauty um
is more than the physical appearance.
Beauty is your intellect. It's how you
treat people. It's uh you know, how your
heart is, how you behave around other
people. I think beauty is not only the
physical appearance of I mean, it does
add flavor to it. But, other than that,
it's more of who you are as a person.
Yes.
>> So, beauty or brains and why?
>> Uh
both.
>> Hey, come on, GT. Please, choose one.
You know what they say, men are visual
human beings. [laughter] Is that true?
>> Men are visual learners, but I think I
think both. I mean, um
beauty together with brains, they go
hand-in-hand.
>> Yeah. So, now, when you make a business
move, uh do you sometimes ever feel like
you want to do double twice the effort
um just because you are um the
president's son just to make it feel
like it's your own achievement?
>> Um
yes and no. Yes, because
not because I'm the the son of the
president, but because of my age. So,
you know, the youth, we are really
shunned upon. It's really difficult for
you to put your ideas out there and for
someone to believe in it because you
don't have experience and that kind of
thing.
But, uh of course, now because of my
second name, now there's a bit of sort
of insurance that comes with it. And
someone can easily buy into something.
So, that's why I try and take time
before I engage in a certain venture
because uh you know the repercussions
are more. So
Yes and no.
>> Yes and no.
>> Yes.
>> All right, DK. I have to ask you this
question. You have been an internet
sensation through through Teacher
Sheila's
>> [laughter]
>> videos.
For like two weeks
now.
So has Teacher Sheila convinced you
about marriage so far? And number two,
the comments we saw on our post, are
those comments yours or money social
media money?
>> No, that's a trick question. So
Question one,
you know, marriage is a
is a is a long is a life long agreement
you have with someone.
So you can't just meet someone on social
media and you know, agree on social
media.
So no. I think it's just social media
hype, but now we were at least able to
divert people's attention from what we
were doing
into now what Teacher Sheila does. I
came to learn that she supports very
many special needs students. She
supports she teaches in Westlands
Primary School, which we plan on
visiting
to support them with football equipment,
support them with
learning equipment and so many things
that you'll see in the next coming days.
So
>> So this was not our plan all through. I
mean you see it.
>> BUT YOU GET BY.
CAN GO EITHER WAY.
But yeah, so the second question was
who manages?
>> No, no two managers. Are those comments
yours or social media manager?
>> I do a lot of it myself because I think
I really understand how to relate with
people my age.
And that online banter and just to trend
for a few days and then we do something
else. I think it's really fun. It's
really engaging. People really, you
know, people really hooked on it. So I I
do most of it, but of course Muli does
some of it as well. Yes.
>> All right, GK. Thank you for talking to
us and enjoy your evening.
>> Thank you. Enjoy as well and you
