Video summary
The host of this channel reflects on the unexpected journey that began approximately twelve years ago when he originally created his YouTube platform solely to provide lecture videos for his students. At the time, his primary goal was to supplement classroom discussions rather than replace them, as class sessions were designed specifically for dialogue and interaction while lectures served a different purpose. This initial approach proved successful in its educational context, but over time an unforeseen phenomenon occurred that completely altered the trajectory of the channel's growth and reach.
What started as a modest project with only two subscribers suddenly experienced a rapid surge, jumping to three hundred followers within a single day before continuing to climb until reaching around five thousand odd subscribers today. While acknowledging that this growth is not viral in magnitude nor has he received any official recognition like silver plaques for his views, the host admits to being genuinely surprised by the fact that these viewers are predominantly outside of his student body. He clarifies that while it would be ideal if all subscribers were students who needed to listen to him, he accepts and appreciates this broader audience without expecting them necessarily to be part of his academic classes.
In response to inquiries from some of his current students about the channel's expanding scope, the host decided to diversify the content beyond strict lecture material to include a wider variety of topics that might interest general viewers. Consequently, the channel now features not only educational lectures for class but also videos exploring subjects in philosophy and other areas he finds interesting or relevant to important discussions. This shift allows him to engage with a broader community while maintaining his original mission, effectively transforming what was once just an instructional tool into a platform for sharing diverse intellectual interests.
To foster further engagement within this growing community, the host warmly invites viewers who have specific topics they would like discussed to send suggestions directly so he can review and potentially cover them in future videos. He expresses enthusiasm about interacting with his audience by replying to comments on existing posts and even considers creating video reactions based on viewer feedback. Ultimately, he concludes by thanking everyone for stopping by the channel, emphasizing that this collaborative environment is where Brain Sauté thrives as a space for both learning and open conversation.

Welcome to Brain Sauté.
So, I started this YouTube channel about
I guess it was like 12 years ago,
something like that. Uh, and I
originally just created the channel and
started uploading the videos so I can
provide lecture videos for my students.
You know, class time is not lecture
time. Class time is discussion time. And
it worked out well. And I'm very pleased
with the results. But something weird
happened along the way. Something
completely unexpected. All of a sudden,
I started getting a whole bunch of
subscribers. I mean, we jumped up from
like two to 300 in one day. And now, I
mean, it's not rocket growth, right? I
haven't gone so viral that I can, you
know, got the little silver plaque or
anything. Um, but now I've got 5,000
some odd subscribers. And wow, I'm kind
of surprised by that. And I know my
students have to listen to me, but I
didn't think they'd really enjoy that.
And I am I am really fully aware that
the 5,000 plus subscribers are not my
students. Predominantly not my students.
And that's fine. I'm not saying they
should be. Uh but I am surprised. I was
taken by surprise for this sudden
growth.
So some of my students have asked me
about this and and I decided well I
guess maybe I'll try to supply more
videos than just besides lecture videos.
So that's what's happening here at this
YouTube channel. It's at least lecture
videos for the class, but also videos
that you know around topics of
philosophy or maybe other topics we'll
see uh that I find interesting and I
think are important or relevant. Right?
So welcome to Brain Sauté. If you would
like me to talk about something, great.
Send me a suggestion. I'll take a look
at it. More than happy to reply to
comments and maybe even do video
reactions to comments. Thanks for
stopping by.
