Video summary

In this weekly budget update for September 14th through the 20th, the host Yosha returns to her signature method of planning with confidence using a physical planner, though she notes it has been some time since her last paycheck budget video. She begins by explaining her specific income streams for the week, which include estimated earnings from her nail services, her business Norris Cove, and her hair styling work as a licensed cosmetologist. After totaling these guesstimates to arrive at an initial income of $1,985, she immediately addresses unexpected expenses that have already been deducted, such as a charge from HP Inc., a payment to Ally Financial, and various Afterpay installments for Planet Fitness and other purchases. She also accounts for a significant $300 expense related to Sweet Ranch, bringing her total known outflows before allocating funds to specific categories. Following the deduction of these irregular bills and a planned $60 gas expense, Yosha moves on to filling her envelope system for miscellaneous items, food, groceries, salon supplies, and office paper. She candidly discusses her strategy for controlling spending in the grocery category, admitting that she previously wasted money by buying ingredients for healthy recipes while working out but is now being more disciplined with her budget. After allocating funds for these necessary categories, she calculates a remaining balance of $384, which she intends to distribute further into her high-yield savings accounts. She plans to move $25 each into Marcus, a CD account at NFCU, and Ally, totaling $75 in savings transfers, leaving a final cash reserve of $309 for immediate needs or emergencies. The video concludes with Yosha setting aside the remaining funds for long-term goals, specifically earmarking money for Christmas gifts and an upcoming girls' trip, acknowledging that she will likely add more to these categories later as her budget evolves. She reflects on her process, admitting she feels a bit rusty after stepping away from regular budget videos but expressing her determination to get back into the swing of things by printing more planners and continuing this weekly series. Throughout the update, she shares personal details about her workspace, including festive decorations and a new planner shipment, while encouraging viewers to subscribe and comment if they are new to her channel. She promises to return next week to review how well the budget held up, what was left over, and which bills were successfully paid off during the week.

Hey friends, welcome to or welcome back to Norris [music] Cove. If you're new here, I'm Yosha and here at the Cove, we like to budget and plan in confidence using [music] a planner. But today, you guys, I have a surprise surprise. We're going to be doing a paycheck budget. [music] I'm going to It's been a while. I don't think I've done a paycheck budget since May. I may have came in here and did July. So, let's And this my last page, so I have to print some more. I've already filled in my [music] September. It's a little festive, I'll say. And I'm not going to mention anybody's name, but somebody had me without a sticker book. Okay, but anyway, [clears throat] [laughter] let's get started. So, this is the week of the 14th [music] through September the 20th. And let me move this out the way. So, some of the bills have already come out and [music] even for this week. So, we're going to do rollover. And I tried to remember my rollover and my rollover was [music] like 6:42. Okay. And then hair, nails, and [music] no co. I know it's been a while since I did a budget video, but for [music] those who are new, um, rollover is just what was left in my account before the week started. Um, hair because I'm a licensed hair stylist, [music] licensed cosmetologist, so I do hair and nails. So then this is my income from nails. And then this would be my income from Norris Cove. And I just short it by saying no co. [music] And I already know we I think it's $93. And then [music] nails this week I think we're going to do 150. And [music] then hair I'm going to put it at 1,100. So these are just guesstimates. So let's just do a little totaling. So, we have a total of 1985. [music] All right. So, the 14th [music] something came out. I have my planner here. Let me look in here because I wrote down that something came out when it wasn't supposed to. Yes, Shopify. That was last week when that came out. Something else came out. Was it? Was it Shopify? [music] It was something that came out that wasn't supposed to come out yet. Oh, HP Inc. So, that came out here. [music] At least that's when I saw it. So, let me go ahead and put that in. And it was like 26.49, [music] I believe. Okay. And then we have Alley, which is actually due today. [music] I went ahead and scheduled that payment. So that's 750. It'll end up coming out this week. And then Shopify was down for this week, but it's [music] already come out. And then we have Planet Fitness on the 17th. I need to double check that, but it's like $25. Okay. And then also we had some Afterpay. So, one has already come out and that was today and that one was for 2148. And then my next Afterpay is the 18th and that is 1752. And then we have sweet ranch. Uh-oh. That is 300. Let's do a total of these things here. Y'all, excuse me cuz I am a little rusty. I have not done a budget video in a long time. And the other day I was on my walking pad and I needed to just walk for like 22 minutes and I just watched the old budget video so I could kind of get back into um the swing of things. Uh 1752 and then 300. So that ends up being $1,140. We're not going to put the change on there. And then remaining from 1985 leaves $844. I'm not going to put this in on there, but $844. And then so expense, I know I have gas coming out. I put $60. That's all it was going to get. >> [clears throat] >> And then here for envelopes, I'm going to put my main envelopes, miscellaneous, food, and grocery. I'm trying to keep up with that this time. Uh salon, I know I've spent some money in salon this week. And then no code, we needed paper. And then the Shopify, all of that came out of that. So, um let's do a little guesstimating. So we have $844 subtract 60. This leaves leaves us with 7.84 and then so we're going to work that 784 on down. So miscellaneous I kind of do 150 if I can. So that leaves us with 634. Food and grocery. I've been doing kind of good this week of not just keep going to the grocery store because when I am working out, losing weight, I tend to go to the grocery store a lot making all these different quote unquote healthy recipes and end up kind of wasting money. So, I'm willing it in. So, I'mma put uh another 150. I was spending almost triple that. So, I'm left with 4.84. I did buy some things for the salon. Um, and I think I need a few other things. So, I'm just going to put uh 50 here. And then no code. I bought paper. I'm might have to order some more paper. So, I'm going to do 50. So, we was at 484. Let me go back up here. 784. Subtract. Should have put it up there. 60 equals 724. No, that was that 784. Subtract 300, subtract 50. Yeah, I'm a little rusty. Another 50. And that leaves us with uh remaining 384. So that is 3400 here. And we have a remaining of 384. Now, I'm trying to do better about moving money into my high yield savings account because I have more than one. So, I'm starting with like $25 to different ones. And so, last week I did Marcus um which actually just came. Matter of fact, that came out this week. So, let me put Marcus here. That's what came out. That's what it was. It came out this time. So, uh 25. This one I'm kind of starting over. So, I don't need to write the balance. And then I want to send 25 to a CD. And I'm going to slash it with NFCU. So, I want to send 25 there. And then, um, Ali 25. So, that's $75 into savings. So, let's subtract it from the 3.84. That's 309. That leaves me 309. This is 75. And I have $39 remaining. Now, I'm going to leave that $300 because also I have some cash on me, but I forgot to bring it down. I'm going to start back uh cash stuff and envelopes and I just got to dig them out, blow the dust off of them because it's that time of year. I'm going to matter of fact just add this category but not put anything here. Uh Christmas. And then at the next week, we'll come back and see what I put into these categories. So, we have Christmas, we have um girls trip, and we're going away for Christmas, so I want to have a little extra there. And then girls trip. Those are like the only two things that I think I need to long-term save for. So, that's it. So, we'll see how much I put in those, but it'll probably be roughly like $25, $50, something like that. But, this is what we have for the budget for the week. I hope I wasn't too all over the place. Like I said, I have to kind of get back used to um doing my budget here with you guys cuz sometimes I've just been putting it on some paper or as you saw in my other planner, I'll just do it that way. So, I'm going to print some more of these so we can kind of continue the year out with some budget videos for you guys. But back to um the monthly. Also, I had this pen that I was um marking things off of. I have to come back in [snorts] and fill in my goals and things like that. So, now we know that Navy Federal, we paid them. We paid Cap Cut, Apple Music. So, Ally got paid. I did this appointment. Um, the money is in my account for Planet Fitness. So, that's there. I feel like I feel like it's something I'm forgetting. It will come to me. I'm going to write in the HP came out on the 14th so I know to put it into November. That orange kind of reminds me of September. So, that's why I have the little orange going on. And I just [clears throat] um did a little deco, you know, just to spruce it up. But I can't wait to show you guys my new planner that I got coming and how I plan to use that. I just saw that it was shipped. So yeah, and I got a couple videos uh coming up for you guys. Um matter of fact, I think I need to do another one after this one, which will be probably be a flip of my business planner. But for now, this is it as far as the budget. We will come back next week and show you how everything went, what we had left over, all that great stuff, and what got paid.
