WEEKLY BUDGET AND BUDGET FAIL

Video summary

In this transparent weekly budget update, the host Yoshida from Norris Cove admits to a significant lapse in her financial tracking for the previous week, explaining that she failed to stick to her planned budget due to an unexpectedly short work schedule. Although she did not print new planner inserts or utilize the expense trackers she recently added, she remains committed to showing up and being honest with her audience about her struggles. The main focus of this segment is to clarify that while she missed some expenses like groceries and salon visits, which were partially covered by eating out and dipping into savings, she successfully managed to pay most of her bills despite the chaos. She emphasizes that her goal is not perfection but rather maintaining consistency and transparency, even when things fall apart. Moving into the current week's planning for dates between the 21st and the 27th, Yoshida outlines her anticipated expenses, starting with a rollover amount of $17 from last week. She estimates costs for hair at $15.75 and nails at $22.50, while tentatively setting aside $50 for miscellaneous items like NoCo, acknowledging she might be overestimating that category. Her bill payment schedule includes T-Mobile due on the 21st for approximately $140, Netflix on the 23rd for around $26.49, and GoDaddy on the 27th for roughly $12. She also notes a potential charge from Epidemic, though she suspects it may have already been processed last week, and highlights an upcoming State Farm payment on Monday that requires careful money management to ensure timely payment. A significant portion of this week's financial strategy involves addressing her savings account, where she plans to deposit $200 to replenish the funds she withdrew during the previous short week. Yoshida points out a specific challenge with her Barclays bill, which is scheduled for the 27th but falls on a Sunday, meaning it might not process until the following Tuesday; she marks this with an asterisk to monitor whether it appears next week or if she needs to set aside extra funds proactively. She expresses concern that December often causes her budgeting habits to slip, so she is determined to get back on track now to avoid falling behind as the year ends. Ultimately, she concludes by encouraging viewers to stay on top of their income and expenses this week, promising to try harder with her tracking methods in the coming days.

Hey friends, welcome to or welcome back to Norris Cove. If you're new here, I'm Yoshida and here at the Cove, we like to budget and plan in confidence [music] using a planner. But today, you guys, we're going to be doing a budget. Listen, I wasn't even going to get on here because I did not stick to my budget. I didn't I can't tell you how much I made none of that. Okay, [music] but I am dedicated to showing up. But we're just going to go over last week [music] because I did not or maybe I'll take a little break. I didn't print any new inserts. So, [music] we're just going to go over last week. So, I did want to kind of report back like what did get paid, not necessarily what didn't because pretty much everything got paid. But I can't tell you how much I made, none of that. But I did say [music] that I will be back. So, we had the rollover of 642. I don't know. I don't know what this is. Nails. I don't know. And we actually [music] did make more in Norris Cove, but I can't tell you. But I, like I said, I just wanted to show up. I know that HP Inc. came out. We did Pay Alley, [music] Planet Fitness came out, and it was like $25.49. Um, Afterpay, that was [music] correct. Another Afterpay, that was correct. And then I paid my sweet rent. [music] That was that. Now gas that came out. Now what I spent in miscellaneous, have no idea. Food and grocery. I did not really go to the grocery store last week like I was supposed to. So there was a lot of eating out, but really not too much. I really don't even think I [music] spent 150 on the salon. Um I might have been a little over. Uh no co uh about the same. And I did not put anything into the Christmas or the girls trip because it was a short week [music] for me. [snorts] Marcus, that was already coming out that week. I did not do this and I did not do that because I actually had to take some money out of my savings because [music] I had a short week. So, I just wanted to kind of go over that so you guys wouldn't think I was sticking it up again. [music] But maybe I can pause to print I can't. No, I don't. No, cuz I got some other things that I'm working on. But I just wanted to show back up and just show you and be completely [music] transparent and honest with you that I did not track and nothing. I started in here. Let me go. So, I did add some expense trackers. Now, did I use them? No. I added them, but I didn't use them. But I was [music] trying to keep up. You see the after the 15th, I didn't keep up. I I don't know. I even filled out a sticky note. Okay. Did [music] not do that. So, I definitely got to get back on it. I'mma try this week. Okay. But I just wanted to show you guys that um I didn't stick it up. I just didn't do anything. Didn't do it. All right. So, what we're going to do is we're going to use the weekly check-in. And this week is the [music] 21st through the 27th. Okay. So, we have, let me zoom in just a little bit. A source is roll over, baby. We had $17. We had $17 left. Okay. Uh hair this week. I'm feeling kind of good about this week. So, I'm going to put this week at 1575. And nails, I got a couple of nails this week. So, I'm going put 225. And then no co. Um, I don't know what to put. Um, I'll just put [music] 50 at the moment. I really don't need that. All right. So, what bills do we have due this week? So, let's But that's the good thing. The bills got paid. Now, one thing I'm going to do I'm going to spend, but I'm also going to make sure that the bills are paid. Okay. So, [music] this week is the 21st. We have Epidemic that is due today, but I think they [music] came out last week cuz I saw a charge for $19 and I thought maybe it was um something [music] else. So, Epidemic, I think it already came out. It's like $19.99, $20. T-Mobile, I just paid them. So, that's due today. And that's like 140. And it was like 140. And that [music] got paid. And I really think Epidemic got paid. And then we have Netflix on the 23rd. Netflix is like 26.49 and then [music] on the 27th we have Barclays. Now the thing with Barclays, it's not going to come out until the following week [music] because it falls on a Sunday. So it probably won't come out to Tuesday. So, I'm going to put a little asterric here so that way if [music] it's not paid next week, then we know I mean, excuse me, if I don't I'll probably put the money aside for it though. So, if not, we'll see it next week. Okay. And then we have GoDaddy also on the 27th. And GoDaddy is like 11. I'm just going to put $12. [music] And that's all we have for next I mean for this coming week. Um also Monday we have State Farm. So that means we need to kind of make sure we are managing our money this week because [music] we need to pay State Farm and I've been paying them on time. So we definitely want to keep up with that. So what's our total we have? I'm just going to put 20 for Epidemic, but I [music] really think they've come out. So, we're gonna skip that T-Mobile. Let's go ahead and [music] put it anyway, though. So, we have three. Oh, we forgot sweet rent. [music] Let's put that sweet rent. That's 300. I don't need to put a date. So, [music] we're going to add that. And that's $64849. [music] And then for savings, I'm going to the money I took out of my savings, [music] I want to pay myself back. So I 200. Like I said, I'm going to put some in there. And then um our debt [music] would be GoDaddy. So that's not coming out till next week. And so we're going to try to keep up with our income this week. make sure that um we stay on top of it because I really need to get back into this. It's getting too close to the to December. That's where everything just falls down. So, I definitely want to um get back to that so that I can keep up with it. So, it's just been a lot going on. But that's all that I have for you guys today. I actually hope that you enjoyed today's video and that you'll come back for more. But that's it and I will see you guys in my next video. Bye.
