weekend in my life as a childfree 38 year old! trader joe's haul, thrift w/me & world market snacks
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video chronicles a weekend in the life of a 38-year-old woman living in Arizona, capturing her daily routines, shopping hauls, and family time despite the extreme heat. Her Friday begins with an early morning start where she works on filming tasks before heading to Drew's mother's house for family visits and some light shopping. A significant portion of her day is dedicated to hydration, as she enthusiastically reviews "Cure," an electrolyte drink that helps her body absorb water more effectively without added sugars, which she finds essential given the 100-degree temperatures. She also spends time testing various perfumes at a thrift store, including scents by Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, before settling in for a cozy evening of watching movies and eating butter noodles while doing laundry.
Saturday is spent enjoying quality time with her mother, followed by a visit to World Market where she and Drew indulge in a massive haul of British snacks and treats. They purchase items like Turtle Chips, Every Burger chocolate cookies, strawberry Oreos, and various British favorites such as Jaffa cakes, Cadbury Double Decker bars, and Jammy Dodgers. The vlogger shares her excitement over these sweets, noting that they remind her of her travels to the UK and Japan where she would frequently stock up on snacks. Later in the evening, she focuses on self-care, treating her scalp with glycolic acid and oil while managing her hair extensions, and mentions getting a Botox touch-up to maintain her appearance before settling down for a quiet night in.
Sunday morning brings a shift in plans as Drew comes down with a sore throat, prompting the vlogger to work ahead on tasks she usually saves for later. Inspired by social media trends, she decides to go thrifting for fall fashion items despite the sweltering heat, aiming to find cute pieces before heading to Trader Joe's for groceries. Her grocery haul includes fresh produce like autumn crisp grapes and bananas, frozen goods such as hash browns and mashed potatoes, and various prepared foods including chicken pot stickers, vegetable fried rice, and pumpkin butternut squash bisque. She also picks up specific items for Drew's mother and some unique snacks like teriyaki turkey jerky and pineapple teriyaki chicken meatballs to keep their household stocked.
The weekend concludes with the vlogger organizing her new purchases, trying on thrifted clothes, and relaxing after a chaotic but productive day of shopping and cooking. She reflects on the balance between maintaining her work schedule despite being in a relationship, dealing with minor health scares like catching a cold, and prioritizing simple pleasures like reading books and taking baths. Throughout the vlog, she maintains a candid tone about her life as a childfree woman in her late 30s, sharing personal details about her skincare routine involving Vanicream products due to rosacea flare-ups, and her preference for cozy, low-key evenings at home. The video ends with her looking forward to future content while expressing gratitude to her viewers for joining her on this weekend adventure.

This is the stuff that Drew and I ended
up getting. Even though it is 100° today
here, we're not going to talk about
that.
God help us.
>> Cheers by the garbage can.
>> Look at her. She's gorgeous. Good
morning, everybody. Welcome back to
another vlog. It is a Friday, but I kind
of have the day off today. So, we're
starting off a weekend vlog with like a
fun little day off. Well, I mean, I'm
doing a little bit of work this morning,
but it is 10:40. I was up at like 4:00
a.m. as I always am. And so, I was like
doing a bunch of reading and then I
ended up falling back asleep. So, I was
asleep until like 8:00, 8:30, something
like that, which is insane for me. So,
got a little bit of a late start to the
day. Had my breakfast. And now it is
time to get a little bit of work done
before we head out for the day. We're
going to go over to Drew's mom's house,
have a little family time. We're going
to probably like bop around, maybe do a
little bit of shopping. Not sure. It's
kind of hot outside. And then yeah, I
don't really know what else we have
planned for the weekend. But first,
we're going to start off with a little
bit of work. I have a couple little
quick things to film. And then it's time
to party. And by party, I mean like, you
know, I don't know, go to Costco and
swim a little. This is life in my late
30s. Here we go. I'm not kidding. By the
way, I cannot stop singing that Luke
Bryan song that I only know exists
because I saw it on Tik Tok where he's
like, "Slam goes the door.
Something goes to something. And like
the whole song is just that. And people
have been commenting fart goes the butt
under his [laughter] videos. And that's
all Drew and I have been doing all
morning is just yelling fart goes the
butt at each other. Anyways, okay.
All right. Got that done. Now we're
going to head downstairs. Oh my god, the
AC is so loud. It's driving me insane. I
need to find a mic for this vlog camera
cuz I'm starting to lose it. All
right, we're getting ready to head out
the door in a second and I'm going to
fill up my water bottle for the day. And
I'm actually going to use some of this
Pure hydration that has become my
obsession because as you guys know, it
is extremely hot here in Arizona and I
get dehydrated so easily. And some days
for me, water alone just isn't enough.
It doesn't replenish everything my body
loses. It needs electrolytes to actually
put that water to use. And Cure helps
your body absorb water more effectively
but without the added sugar, which I
love. This is the tropical variety pack.
The strawberry kiwi is I think my
favorite, but tropical punch, blood
orange, and watermelon are also really
good. And like, sorry, but the packaging
alone. So adorable. We also have the
classic variety pack. This is our second
one. And then the green apple is
actually surprisingly good. And I'm not
really much of an apple person, but I
love it. And I just really love that
electrolytes don't just add fluid
volume, like they actually help your
body absorb water. And what an
electrolyte formula does for your body
is so much better than just drinking
water on it, though. I've already got my
ice in here too, don't you worry. And
cure hydrates you faster than just water
alone as well, which I absolutely love.
I mix her up. Especially if I'm going
like to the pool and I know I'm going to
be outside for a long period of time.
It's really nice to be able to just have
something that's going to help when I'm
out there sweating. Let's be honest,
it's so hot here. Also wanted to add
that you can really tell the difference
that there's no added sugars. It's not
overly sweet like some other ones that
I've tried. It's just so refreshing and
it tastes so good. It's also just great
for a daily habit as well. So, make sure
you check out my link in the description
box below or you can scan the QR code on
screen here. And be sure to use my
coupon code, Carrie Dayton Vlogs 20 to
shop. Let's do a taste test.
No, like I'm literally not kidding. It
is so good. I'm not just saying that.
It's amazing. All right, let's hit the
road. [music]
>> Far goes the
far goes the bug.
>> Been in my head since
>> I literally talked about it in my vlog.
This is many hours later. I saw someone
say that we should try Burlington Code
Factory. Or is it just called Burlington
now? Either way, for like more perfumes.
They have Doljang Gabbana Light Blue. I
was going to give this to Drew's sister
cuz she told me she used to wear this,
but it's still $50.
That feels like a lot. Then I also found
Paris Hilton
for $11.99. And then the original
Britney Spears Fantasy. I'm going to
wear the hell out of both of these. They
actually smell kind of similar. There's
also another Curve. I think this is the
women one. Oh no, it's for men. Just
kidding. They also have an OP perfume. I
feel like I vaguely remember this. This
is the men one though and it's only $10,
so not bad. There's a bunch of guests.
Billy Eyish, Calvin Klein. I saw [music]
some CK1. Freaking throwback. Okay, I'm
gonna test my perfumes. We're gonna do
Britney Spears first.
>> Let's hope they smell better than the
other one.
>> Doing this for younger me. Britney
Spears fantasy. Not intense. Not
candied fantasy. Just regular fantasy.
Here we go.
Yes. Oh my god. Yes. I'm so excited. I
spread kind of a vase. Drew goes.
Yeah. That's amazing. 10 out of 10. Let
me smell.
>> Can you smell me yet?
>> Mhm.
>> That smell good. I love it.
>> What do you give it out of 10?
>> 10.
>> Beautiful. Then of course we got Paris.
I'm so excited. This one was $11.99. I
think I said the price is already. And
yeah, this is just baby one, which is
perfect. I don't want like a really big
one. I'm so happy.
Oh my god. Oops. I just sprayed a lot.
>> Okay.
I love it.
>> You do?
>> Yes.
>> Those are definitely better than the
other ones you've got.
>> These are better.
>> Yeah, they're like going in.
[music]
>> Literally lying.
>> Good morning, everybody. It is now
Saturday morning. It is 8:02 a.m. We're
going to head to my mom's side of town
and see my mom this morning, spend a
little bit of time with her, maybe do a
little thrifting, little shopping. We'll
see what we do. This is my outfit for
the day. I am feeling very Cinderella
for some reason. I don't know. That's
what this bandana is giving, but I love
it. This bandana is thrifted. I found it
at a flea market. I actually vlogged it.
Then this tank top, I think, is from Old
Navy. These jeans are or these shorts
are Levis's. And then my accessories are
like all from Amazon. Let's go have a
fun Saturday [music] morning.
>> I'm going to get this and [music]
get this.
>> Cheers.
>> Cheers by the garbage can. We decided to
stop into World Market. God help us.
We're going insane.
>> This is all from myself, Drew, our
niece, and my mom. So, this is four
people's stuff, but we're going insane.
It is much later now. We're home. We've
been watching Camp Rock as we do. I
thought I would show you a little haul
of what we got at World Market. My mom
took her stuff. We had the just the best
day out with my mom. It was so nice. She
already got her stuff. So, this is the
stuff that Drew and I ended up getting.
And it's it's a lot, but we're just
really feeling snacky, you know, and I
mean, these will last us a long time.
Anyways, we already broke into these,
but these turtle chips, I believe these
are are these Korean? Yes, I think they
are. These are called turtle chips. And
these are the most phenomenal chips.
They have like folded really soft but
crispy texture and it's a sweet corn
flavor. We've loved these for years. The
two of us already had some of those.
Then we got another longtime favorite.
These are called Every Burger. We always
get these. We used to get them when we'd
go to Little Tokyo all the time. And
these are like a little chocolate cookie
burger thing. It's so good. Look at it.
It just looks like a little hamburger.
And yeah, these are a Japanese candy and
they're delicious. Then we decided to
get some strawberry cream Oreos to try.
These are like the thin ones, but these
look amazing. Strawberry Oreos. Like,
yes, please. I may have tried that
before. I'm not sure. And then we just
got a few of our British favorites. So,
we got some more chocolate digestives.
These are the milk chocolate. Drew got
some Jaffa cakes. I'm admittedly not
much of a chocolate orange person. It's
just not my favorite, but like I'm I'm
trying. I'm warming up to it. And then
because if you guys watched the video
where my friend Jasmine sent me a box of
a bunch of British sweets and treats and
crisps and snacks and everything, um
Drew became obsessed with these club
bars. Is that what they're called? A
club bar. Anyways, he really liked the
mint. And then we also saw they had a
salted caramel. Not as into that, but
they also had an orange flavor. And Drew
lit up in the store when he saw those.
He was so excited. And then he got his
favorite chocolate bar, which is the
Cadbury Double Decker. Loves that. Most
of this is Drews, actually, now that I'm
thinking about it. And then we got some
more Jammy Dodgers. We tried recently
that apple and black currant flavor.
Those were really good. The raspberry is
kind of the best, but we also saw that
they have cherry. So, we got so excited.
You guys, whenever Drew and I do go back
to the UK next, it's going to be just
like half of our time is going to be
spent in the grocery store just buying
as many snacks and treats as we can try
because it's just one of our favorite
things in the entire world. That's like
our first trip to Japan pretty much.
That's like what we would do every day.
We'd go to 7-Eleven. We'd buy as many
little snacks and ice creams and treats
and things as we could find and we'd eat
them. And we did that almost every day
when we were in the UK last time. So
yeah, that is our World Market haul. Now
it's time to start camp rock 2. It's
much later now. I have napped. I am
having a little bit of a solo night in.
Hung out with some friends. I just
wanted to chill.
One thing about me is when I'm left to
my own devices, I will be making butter
noodles for dinner. It's like just what
I have always done, you know. Oh, don't
look at my hair. I uh took a nap on the
couch and yeah, like I don't know.
Sometimes when you're in a relationship
with a man and that man isn't home, it's
like I don't want protein for dinner. I
don't want meat. You know what I mean? I
just want butter noodles. And that is
what I'm doing. So, this is my girl
dinner for the evening. And it is butter
noodles. I'm just like doing a little
bit of laundry, catching up on some
laundry, like bedding and stuff like
that. And then I want to really I keep
saying this in like all my vlogs. I want
to really get a good dent into my book
again tonight. I'd really love to finish
my book tonight. Ideally, that'd be
wonderful. Um, and I forgot to bring my
hardcover book that I just bought when I
was in San Diego. So, I'll have to start
something else on my Kindle or maybe
listen to my audio book after that or
something. But I've been scrolling for a
little bit and I just need to like read
or do something else. So, I'm going to
have my dinner. I'm going to watch maybe
a show. I'm going to read. Maybe I'll
take a bath. I don't know. I It's like a
little hot outside today for a bath. I'm
not sure. But, it's just going to be the
ultimate cozy chill night in. It's me
and my butter noodles against the world.
Oh my goodness, am I tired. Wow. It is
9:45. I'm about to get ready for bed.
And I think I'm going to do a little
pampering, a little self-care pampering
cuz why not? So, I think do I still have
this? I'm going to do a little scalp
treatment. I'm going to use a bit of the
Ordinary glycolic acid cuz it's really
good for your scalp. And then I'm going
to use a little bit of this ceremonia
heritage scalp remedy oil and just kind
of mix that in and like wear my hair in
like a low pony or something like that
for bed tonight to just give it Yeah.
just a little bit of hydration.
Something that I've noticed a lot of
other people with low feritin talking
about is like hair loss, itchy scalp,
things like that. So, I'm going to do my
best to like prioritize scalp care a
little bit more. I want to go to one of
those head spas so badly, but I do
currently still have Ktip extensions and
I think it's preferred that you don't
have them. them and like yeah, I don't
want them to get like tugged on or
anything like that. It's kind of hard to
like really get your fingers in there
when you have extensions. The girls who
get it get it, but I don't think I will
continue with my extensions after this.
Like they're nice and they're fun, but I
don't I don't really need them. I never
did, but my hair honestly looks a lot
better. It's just fine. And I'm in this
sort of awkward grow out phase where
it's not a bob anymore, but it's not
long either. It's just kind of in
between. Okay, now I'm going to do some
of this scalp oil. This stuff smells
unbelievable.
I don't want to put it too close to my
extensions though because they are
keratin. So, we'll just do a little bit
mostly at like the crown of my head.
There we go.
Looking a little crazy.
I'm going to take off my makeup, wash my
face. I forgot my face tanner this time
around. So, I have a bit of a mismatch
going on between face and body, but I
ordered some more. So, that should be
delivered I think tomorrow. Actually, a
few days ago, I think it was like 4 days
ago, I got my Botox touched up just for
transparency's sake. I get Botox I would
say at this point like twice a year. I
think the last time I went was in March,
the galette that I see here. So yeah, I
would say on average 6 months and it's
just something that I get in between my
eyebrows, a little bit on my forehead,
and I think she did a couple like right
here as well. It's just sort of a
personal choice. I also sometimes go
long periods without it as well. It's
just sort of like something that I enjoy
from time to time. Um, and so I can't
rub my forehead like too crazy. I think
even though it's been a few days, I can
feel it like setting in now. Although my
eyebrows are a little uneven, but that
happened last time and then they
straightened out. I'm keeping it really
simple lately with Vanic Cream
moisturizer and Vanic Cream face wash.
And that's it
because I do have rosacea and my rosacea
is kind of flaring up which is really
annoying.
Just some banana cream moisturizer.
And that's it. I find that my skin works
best with very simple, gentle products.
And now I'm going to crawl into bed,
read some more of my book, and I will
check in with you tomorrow.

[music]
>> Good morning everybody. Happy Sunday. It
is like just before 10:00 a.m. on a
Sunday morning. And I have decided this
morning that I'm going to go thrifting.
I'm going to film a thrifting video. I
have been so inspired by people that
I've seen on Instagram reels, on Tik
Tok. I've seen stuff on Pinterest, and I
am just really in the fall fashion mood.
Even though it is 100° today here, we're
not going to talk about that. I just
really want to find some cute fall
stuff. So, I'm going to head to the
thrift store. And actually, Drew woke up
with a sore throat this morning, which
is so annoying. Um, and so that means
that my time is probably coming in the
next few days. So, I'm just trying to
get ahead on work while I can. So, while
I normally probably wouldn't work on a
Sunday, I'm just doing it to like save
myself potentially from being behind
this week. So, that's what we're going
to do. I also want to run to Trader
Joe's and grab some just like weekly
groceries, little bits that we're like
missing that we don't already have, and
maybe get like some sicky things for
Drew, like some soup, some crackers, and
then ultimately probably for myself.
It's just one of those things. Our time
is coming. It was weird though cuz I got
sick like I don't know, July, beginning
of July, I think. And Drew never got
sick. So, I'm like keeping my fingers
crossed that I can somehow avoid this
one. But, I don't know. We'll see. So,
let's spend a lovely little Sunday
morning going thrifting. What could be
better?
[music]
All right, it's many hours later. It's
like honestly 3 hours later. I'm done
thrifting. I just drove all the way out
to a Trader Joe's at just before 1:00
p.m. on a Sunday. I don't know what I
was thinking on a holiday weekend as
well. So, that was my bad. I think I've
made a crucial mistake, but we're going
to grab as much as we can and then we
will definitely be in for the rest of
the day. All
>> [music]
>> right, we made it out alive barely. No,
it was just a little chaotic, but not
too bad. Um, so here is my Trader Joe's
haul. I got a few different things for
flowers. These two are for Drew's mom,
and then these are for us, everyone's
house. Then we got the what's this
called? Pizza parlano. It's just like a
supreme pizza. It's like a thin crust
pizza that's good to have. So just like
you never know when you're going to need
it. Some broccoli.
Some crackers to have with the soup. I
got a couple different kinds of soup.
This pasta sauce we had last time and it
was really good. It's the caro sugo
datino cherry tomatoes and roasted
garlic pasta sauce. So if you see it in
this jar, it's actually quite good.
Next, we got some teriyak turkey jerky
to snack on. We got some rigetoni to
have some pasta cuz they were out of
spaghetti noodles. I got my favorite
autumn grapes, obviously. Autumn crisp.
And if you see these at your grocery
store, get them immediately. They're the
best grapes you'll ever have. We got
some bananas.
Couple different meats. The pineapple
teriyak chicken meatballs are really
good. You just like put these in a pan
with like some rice, some broccoli on
the side, and then you toss these in the
soyaki. That's delicious. I got some
chicken tenders and two things of ground
turkey. Then for the final one, I got
some of this kettle cooked chicken soup.
It just says it's made in small batches
with chicken raised with no antibiotics,
etc., etc. It's just like chicken soup,
basically. I don't even know if there's
noodles in there. I got some of these
egg bites. These are the unexpected
cheddar and turkey sausage egg bites.
So, I thought I would try those. I'm
kind of iffy about eggs sometimes. The
pumpkin butternut squash bis is back. So
excited about that. We got some
vegetable fried rice. That's nice to
have on the side with where are they?
The chicken pot stickers if you're just
feeling lazy for like a weekn night
dinner and then you just do like a
little veg on the side. Really good. Got
some zucchini squash cuz we put this in
our pasta sauce. Got my golden kiwis,
[clears throat] my golden kiwis that I
have every day. Another thing of frozen
mashed potatoes, some frozen hash browns
that are great in the air fryer. They
taste like McDonald's. And then the
Dutch griddle cakes for good. And that's
pretty much it. So, let's put this stuff
away.
[music]
>> [music]
>> Look at her. She's gorgeous. Absolutely
stunning. I love it so much. On the
[music] table she goes for the week.
All right, just sat down and finished
filming the haul of everything I got
today after I had some lunch. It's 2:30
now, so I think I'm going to start this
laundry. Once the laundry is done, I
will try everything on and like do the
little try on bits. And that's pretty
much it. That is going to do it for me
today. I think I'm going to probably
take a bath, read my book, relax, kind
of a continuation of last night, but
like just yeah, a true Sunday. We'll
probably change our sheets, you know,
all the good stuff. So, I hope you guys
enjoyed this vlog. Thank you so much for
hanging out with me over the last few
days and I will see you guys very soon
in my next vlog. Bye.
