Video summary
The video centers on the creator's enthusiastic exploration of various snacks, with a strong emphasis on consuming fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce from British Columbia. The host begins by showcasing an array of fruits including apples, bananas, pears, and apricots, expressing a deep love for eating them directly off the tree or when they are perfectly ripe. He highlights the specific benefits of local BC fruits like apricots, peaches, nectarines, and plums, noting that while some items like bananas must be imported, locally grown options provide superior flavor and nutrition. Throughout the video, he encourages viewers to follow nature's calendar by eating foods that are in season in their own regions to maximize health benefits.
Beyond fresh fruits, the creator shares his culinary experiments involving eggs, homemade pickles, and unique meat combinations. He prepares soft-boiled and hard-boiled eggs, often pairing them with salty homemade pickles and even pickled garlic for a crunchy texture. A significant portion of the video is dedicated to an innovative snack idea: combining crispy bacon bits with sweet apricots. He demonstrates how to cook bacon in the oven using ends or leftover pieces at 350 degrees Fahrenheit to create "bacon bites," which he then mixes with apricots to create a sweet and savory treat that he describes as incredibly addictive and perfect for sharing at gatherings.
The snack journey continues with fresh vegetables harvested from his patio garden, such as zucchini, tomatoes, strawberries, and grapes, alongside store-bought items like olives and dried golden berries. He takes viewers on a trip to a local Persian grocery store to buy hard but sweet apricots and discusses the versatility of using bacon in various dishes, from rice with greens to creamy pasta sauces. Additionally, he features a chicken schnitzel sandwich from a highly rated local restaurant, praising its kamut flour batter, coleslaw topping, and dairy-free options, while also sharing tips on how to enjoy it during happy hour for a better price.
In conclusion, the video serves as both a food review and a lifestyle guide promoting healthy eating habits centered around whole foods. The creator repeatedly advocates for eating well by incorporating fruits, vegetables, herbs, and greens into one's diet, whether they are grown personally or sourced locally. He emphasizes that investing in health involves not just exercise but also making conscious choices about what to eat, such as avoiding processed snacks in favor of fresh produce and creative combinations like apricot and bacon. The overall message is one of gratitude for the abundance of local food available and an invitation for viewers to explore their own gardens and markets to enjoy similar delicious and nutritious experiences.

What did you have for your snacks you
chose? Oh, I got fruits.
I cut off some fruit.
Apple,
apples, bananas, and pear.
This is my snacks.
I love fruit. I I ate a [ __ ] ton of
fruit. Like a lot of fruit, right?
Like fantastic. This banana and pear or
banana. Yeah, banana and pear.
Banana and apple.
Here's the pear. Green skin.
Bananas and apples are the fruits that I
eat the most.
Eat your fruits, gang. Eat your fruits,
gang. My snacks. My snacks. Let me show
you my snacks. I just cooked up some
eggs. Soft boiled eggs.
I love softboiled eggs. Super delicious,
right? Phenomenal. Awesome
protein
and fats. Mhm. I salted it already.
And I brought out some homemade pickles
that my partner made a few years ago,
like four or five years ago. And these
are amazing.
And they go fantastic
with the eggs together.
Wow.
Come on you egg. Come to me.
Come to me. Super delicious.
Power food.
More pickles.
One more egg.
Right.
Super good.
Soft boiled eggs are some of the best.
the monitor. There we go. Let it focus.
And one more pickle.
Actually got pickled garlic in the
bottom there, too. I'm going to eat the
pickled garlic.
This guy. Pickled garlics. The bomb.
So good.
And fantastic crunch to them.
A fantastic crunch. Cheers, gang.
Oh, yeah.
That's nice. You want to see my snacks?
I'm going fruit. We got some BC fruit is
coming in. Okay. For my snacks, right?
So BC fruit is coming in and I'm buying
local BC fruit from our province and
there's a lot of fruit that they grow in
the Okonogan and stuff like this. Now
unfortunately it's hard to find some of
the stuff organic. So these are local BC
apricots. And man, if you ever get the
chance, gang, if you ever have the
chance to have a fruit tree in your
yard, I highly recommend putting an
apricot tree in your yard. That's one of
the trees 100%. When we get a some land,
we're going to put an apricot tree in
there because one, all fruit,
vegetables, and stuff are amazing off
the plant, right? Ripen off the plant.
But apricots ripened on the tree is
insane, right? So, these are really
delicious. This is as close you can get
as apricots being ripened on the tree.
And they're really squishy when they're
ripened on the tree. They're amazing.
Just absolutely
absolutely phenomenal.
really so good.
So, BC fruits,
I'm getting as much as I can uh because
it's in season. So, I try to eat a lot
of fruits and vegetables in season.
And I put together a fruit salad. I put
peaches in this because these are local
BC peaches as well. Okay. So really
good.
Fantastic.
I got bananas.
The apples aren't local. The bananas and
apples aren't local. And these things
you see here, the dried berries, they're
called golden berries.
They're called Come here. They're called
golden berries. They're like uh I think
they're goosebererries that are dried. I
have a gooseberry plant here, but I eat
it fresh when it gives berries, right?
Gooseberry bush, right?
When it's dried,
they're like tart.
They're really good
in cereals and stuff. This stuff is
amazing.
And by itself, just a bomb.
So, fruit snacks.
So effing good.
So good. Really absolutely phenomenal.
The apricots are just something else.
The apricots are something else.
gang. You want to see my snacks? You
want to see my snacks?
I went to the store this morning, bought
some stuff.
And
I got
I loaded up on more apricots.
Okay. Loaded up on more apricots. And
these these are red plums, Japanese
plums from the neighbors. Um where I
picked the
they were actually they weren't called
Loganberries. They were called oyber
berries or something, right? And these
are
phenomenal.
Japanese round purple plums.
So good. And then the apricots are
actually amazing. Right. They have to
ripen a little bit more, but still
fantastic. Right.
I also this morning
grab some bacon because I just felt like
having bacon. So, I made some uh bacon
in the oven. Okay.
And I make the bacon in the oven. It's
less messy, not on a frying pan. I put
these um on uh what do you call it?
Parchment paper in a pan. I lay them
out. cooked at 350 degrees Celsius and
um or Fahrenheit, I think. Fahrenheit.
Celsius. Fahrenheit. It should be
Fahrenheit, I think. Uh 350 Fahrenheit
or 350°. I'll just say degrees, right?
And uh uh cook them up for about 30 to
35 minutes. Okay.
A lot of bacon. Mhm.
And one thing I do with bacon, I'll show
you another one. Hold on.
Every now and then you got to take down
bacon, right?
And what other one other thing I buy
from bacon?
I'm going say Japanese plums. Very nice.
Very tried.
Yuzu is very good as well. Japanese
lemons. Oh, I've never tried.
And I brought bacon ends.
All right. So, these are packages. Uh
the stores in our area are sell them.
They're not the bacon strips, but
they're bacon like leftover pieces, the
ends. And they package them together.
And when I get them, I cut them up into
smaller pieces, bite-sized pieces. And I
cook them the same way. But these ones
take a little bit longer sometimes cuz
they're chunkier. Right? You got to be
careful cuz these can burn easy if you
let them go too far, right?
So, it's bacon bacon ends cut up.
And these are fantastic. Like really
like chunks of bacon.
It's like bacon bites.
Okay.
And both these bacons are double smoked.
This one has maple syrup in it as well.
And then what I did when I was cooking
them up,
I took the bacon
and
put it with the apricot. So it was
apricot bacon bites, right? Like
seriously, uh, incredibly unique flavor.
Super yummy. Uh, very addictive. I
popped like four of these when I was
cooking them up. They were coming out
when I was eating these things.
like this. So it's
so it's like bacon maple syrup bacon
sweet. It's got the apricot flavor.
Absolutely phenomenal. Like if I was
throwing like a little party with little
bites of stuff,
I would include this. like walk around
with trays.
Offer people apricot with bacon inside.
Oh, very yummy.
Very yummy.
I'm going to be munching on that all
day. I brought a little wet rag here,
too, cuz my hands get sticky with bacon.
So,
give them a little wipe because we're
not going to go to the sink and wash
them, right? We're busy.
We're busy streaming, eating, smoking,
and drinking and chit chatting about
life, right? Salute gang
hamburglar. Those would be awesome in a
creamy pasta dish. Oh yeah, the bacon
chunks. It would be amazing. Amazing.
Like a Alfredo pasta. Oof. Oof. Oof. So
good. So good. And it's cheaper than
buying the bacon strips, right? So, if
you're on budget, and I've been
splitting them bacon, bacon ends and the
bacon strips, right? Because they're
cheaper, you get more if you know how to
cook them properly, you can use them.
They're versatile, right? And you can
include them with stuff. And these these
chunks are really good with rice. Uh
I've been eating them with rice and uh
greens. Uh pan fry, some uh like fast
fry, some uh greens. have rice made and
then take the greens, mix it in with the
rice, put in the bacon bits and munch
away. Phenomenal. Phenomenal.
All the god says 350° C. Put it on your
house as well. It has to be Fahrenheit.
[laughter and gasps]
Should we have another snack? Apricot
with bacon. Yes, we should.
Apricot. Apricot
with bacon. I'm going to do Yeah, I'm
going to do the chunks of bacon again.
Apricot with bacon.
Hell yes.
Apricot bacon delight.
What an amazing flavor.
What an amazing flavor. Should I bring
you guys a straw? Uh oh. Strawberry and
a and um and a tomato.
Yeah, we'll bring a red one, too.
Sure.
harvest from the patio garden.
Strawberry, yellow tomato, and a red
tomato.
Let's see if we can make this focus.
Right,
let's pop a
yellow tomato first.
Very good. Could ripen more, but it is
what it is right now. A lot more coming
in. Red tomato.
M. That was really good. Juicy as [ __ ]
I got to do better setup for my
strawberries. But we're working on it.
Strawberry.
Not bad. Not too sweet, but not bad.
Definitely strawberry flavor. Delicious.
So, we eat a lot of stuff from our
garden.
This is hip.
I love hip. It's like licorice,
right?
Hip is amazing, gang. If you're going to
grow herbs and mints in your garden,
mint is one. Growing mint is amazing,
right? Hip is another phenomenal flavor.
Phenomenal.
Apricot and bacon. Apricot and bacon
time.
Cuz we're going to remain here until we
finish our cigar, right?
apricot and bacon. This is going to be a
big apricot.
So that means we got room for more
bacon.
Apricot and bacon.
bacon that I made this morning.
So good.
Talking about good food, gang. Fruits.
My snacks. Bananas, mandarins or
clementines,
uh peaches, and nectarine.
amazing stuff. Except for the bananas uh
and the mandarins uh the peaches and the
nectarines are local.
One thing I can recommend regarding
food, if you want to eat healthy,
eat fruits and vegetables
and greens, herbs and stuff that are in
season. So start eating foods that come
in season. Right.
Fantastic. Local as well. So foods,
fruits and vegetables and herbs and
greens that are in season wherever you
are.
Basically
follow nature.
Super yummy. Super yummy.
Delicious.
They hydrate from the fruits. Super
good.
On that note, hamburger saying any
snacks. Check out my snacks here.
What you see here, this is my stacks.
I'm growing vegetables, fruits, berries,
and stuff like this, right? This is
zucchini from my garden, tomatoes from
my garden, right? Amazing. The olives is
not from my garden. Obviously, I can't
grow olives where I am,
West Coast of BC.
So, the olives are really salty.
Okay.
The tomatoes,
phenomenal tomatoes,
right?
And the zucchini is phenomenal, too.
So, I'm growing my own food.
Food for me, my partner.
when we make the vegetables or when I
harvest the vegetables and I use them
for cooking stews or whatever,
share it with family and friends.
So
absolutely fantastic, right? Like this
is just raw vegetables. I didn't
no salt, no oil, no balsamic vinegar.
The olives are salt salty so it
compliments the veggies.
Right.
And they go amazing together.
I have like 13 different types of
tomatoes growing. Like different
varieties
of tomatoes.
Here. Check out this one.
It's like a purple
yellow tomato,
right? So good. So good. Right. I just
pick it from here.
M.
So
amazing.
And
for veggies and herbs and stuff, I buy
stuff that I'm not growing or I can't
grow.
And this stuff keeps me healthy. Right.
Tomatoes. Tom Dum. Uh Dimus says, "To
are a good year this year." Yeah, for
sure.
For sure. Hamburger on Rumble for a late
dinner. Um doing yaki udon. Nice. With
chicken, mushrooms, celery, and a Korean
style sauce. Gucci chang base. Gucci

Looks delicious. Oh my god. Purple to
tomatoes. They're awesome. They're
awesome. They're awesome. Super good.
Super delicious. All right.
snacks. You want to see my snacks? Uh,
Lonely Piggy, BC fruit season, brother.
BC fruit season. So, I've mentioned this
before. If you live in an area where you
get local fruits, eat the fruits
locally. These are apricots that I
bought uh a couple of days ago. Okay. I
was in Vancouver. I went to the Persian
store and bought these apricots. And I
know the Persian store where they bring
in a lot of fresh fruit.
Okay, these they're hard apricots, so I
didn't think they would be too sweet.
Okay, you can just crack them open like
this.
Okay, big seed, right? These are some of
the sweetest apricots I've ever had.
It's crazy. Local apricots in BC. Really
small.
Phenomenal.
Usually with apricots, you got to wait
until they get really ripe and squishy
and then they're just heaven, right?
These ones are hard. You can probably
maybe hear the crunch on them, but
they're crazy sweet.
Crazy sweet.
Very yummy.
You only make it. Go hit up the local
fruit.
Looks so effing good.
We get love getting fresh apricots and
plums. Yeah. And the plums. We got some
plums and peaches. So nectarines.
Nectarine season in BC is the bomb.
I've been popping these for two days. I
wish I bought a lot more.
All right, but I didn't know this they
were this good. Yeah, Persian Foods
truth provider now. Amazing prices on
produce and they source out as much
local as they can.
Fantastic.
Fantastic,
gang. For my snacks. For my snacks. I
got some cookies here, but I don't feel
like eating cookies. But I do have some
eggs.
Some eggs that I made this morning.
Hard-boiled eggs. And this is um what do
you call it? Green onions. Green onions
from our CSA.
Love green onions
and fantastic eggs. Organic local eggs.
So good.
And green onions.
Phenomenal.
So good.
Eggs is the best.
Superfood.
Multiple varieties of making it used in
everything,
right? Fantastic.
Eat well and exercise. That should be
part of investing as well, right? Check
this out. I made some roast uh from
organic local beef that we got uh from a
local farm right u couple of days ago.
So these are the end pieces. This is
tomatoes that I grew in my own garden
right on the patio here. And these are
homemade pickles that we my partner made
like 3 years ago. So tomato these ones
are phenomenal.
They're ripe. They're green but they're
ripe, right?
with meat. Awesome. And with
Hey, come here, pickle. Hey, come here,
pickle. Hey, come here, pickle.
Let's get it. Let's pop it together. And
homemade pickles. So, eat well. This is
phenomenal.

and learn how to cook.
Like look at this thing.
And we got
lots of red tomatoes as well.
Meat, tomatoes, and pickles. Oh, I need
a pickle on this.
This
is God's food. Look at this. This is
God's food right here.
So good. So good.
I harvested a lot of grapes from our
patio.
didn't get a chance to do a live stream,
right? So, we've been eating a lot of
grapes. This is our grapes from the
patio, gang, from here where you see,
right? They're ripening up.
Delicious grapes. Phenomenal. The best
grapes ever.
Best grapes ever.
They're seedless.
I don't know why they're seedless, but
they are.
Come here, you.
Oh, this one's not coming.
Hold on.
I like eating these grapes like this.
Like take a like a stack like this.
Super delicious.
Very yummy.
All right, John. Summer for any snacks
or drinks for the stream. Yeah, I got my
got my grapes
from the patio, right? from our grape
vine. All that from all that. I
harvested all these from all there and
here and on the side. Right. So, I got
my grapes.
Right. Fantastic grapes. Let's take this
whole thing down. Yeah. Yeah.
So effing good.
That's so good.
And I got peaches and nectarine.
Organic local peaches and nectarine from
BC.
So I eat fruits in season a lot. Right.
And in BC we got some amazing fruits
that come in season. Lots of pro plums,
peaches, nectarines,
and u lots of organic choices.
And these are amazing.
Like phenomenal.
So good.
I bought a [ __ ] ton of these. We got a
drawer in the fridge that's full of
peaches and nectarines.
Super good. Super yummy.
Fantastic.
Thanks for asking. Jump for the John
Summer for
so good. So good.
Gang, we're talking about food. Let me
show you our food.
I got two things here. Okay. The first
one is we went blackberry picking
yesterday, right?
So, we munched on
a certain amount of blackberries
yesterday and these are really good.
Like
fantastic blackberries,
right?
Like phenomenal.
Phenomenal.
So good.
They go amazing with everything.
Blackberries do. Okay. And then
after blackberry picking, we went
swimming in the ocean
and chilled on the beach for a bit. And
then on the way back, we hit up this
restaurant and it's sort of a casual
dining. It won the 2025 and 2026
uh best casual restaurant dining. Okay.
And they have the best chicken schnitle
sandwich in town.
Bought one, ate it there, and bought
another one to bring it home. Okay. Take
a look at this. This is half half of it.
The other half is in the fridge. Take a
look.
It's got coleslaw on the top and it's a
kamut chicken sandwich, right? A kamut.
Uh the batter around it is kamut flour.
Okay. It's really good. And the kicker
for this is
it's phenomenal the next day because
we've done this before and the next day
is really good. And the bread, like a
sandwich, the bread is it's not
everything, but the bread is extremely
crucial. And the bread is from a local
bakery
that is partly owned by one of our
friends and it's a really good bakery.
They make amazing pastries and I've had
their sandwiches and their bread is
phenomenal. Okay. Like look at the
crispiness of this thing, right?
Really good.
Superb,
right?
The co stuff.
Fantastic.
This is the only time I've had a
sandwich with colelaw on top of it.
Colelaw in the sandwich.
Kamut flour, not kenpo
or someone else was talking about it.
No cheese. Oh my god. No cheese.
This is dairyf free.
And the
for this one, you got them just to put
regular mayo.
They have
one.
It's They give you a choice, regular
mayo or jalapeno mayo. So, we got one
with jalapeno as well. on the jalapeno
is really
spicy mayo
is really good.
We'll go back.
The price for the sandwich, it's just a
sandwich. Like that was half of it and
the other half was in the fridge.
Regular is $18 Canadian.
Okay.
But they offer this during their happy
hour.
And they sell it for how much?
19. Either 12 or $14. I think $12, maybe
$14. I think either 12 or let's say $13
for their happy hour, right? Between
2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. And at night,
between 9 and 10, they sell this for
like $13 Canadian, which is an amazing
deal. Amazing deal.
Now that's a sandwich. Whenever I get
get kleslaw, I mix a separate bowl with
a few shots of srirachi sauce uh or some
diced jalapenos. Don't want to make the
whole batch spicy, but it's nice for a
change. Nice. Nice.
Delicious.
