US Open 2026 Seeds Locked In | Eala, Zverev Rise | Swiatek, Alcarz Fall | Tennis Rankings

So, we've just wrapped up all the warm-up matches or the tournaments that have warmed us up for the US Open, which actually starts in a week's time. The seeds are locked in. We've done some videos on those already. So, go check out those videos if you haven't already about who's actually going to be seated and unseated. But, let's have a look at the results from last week because we had two big results in Cincy. All right, starting on the ladies side of things and we had Goff taking on Pagula in the final and Goff winning her second Cincinnati title, 6264 in the final against Pagula. Now from the men's side, we had Feast winning his first 10,00 title against Thafo in a weird roller coaster three setter. It was 63166 Love and both Tafo and Feast got a boost in the rankings. All right, let's have a look at the players outside the top 20 that got a boost in the rankings. Starting on the ladies side, Baleik of course had a fantastic week. She went into career high number 27. We had Chen going up as well as Bunkova Corna who also had a really good week in Canada. She's gone up as well in the rankings to a career high. And then a couple of the tie players, Tara Rudy and Soni getting career high rankings as well. So Southeast Asia, not just Diala, but also Chen and the Thai players are all starting to really do well. Over on the men's side of things, Marita, he goes up to careerh high as well as Taranti who had a massive week last week. Tranti taking out Jovoic. Farrier also had a really good week last week in Cincy and got a reward in the rankings as well. So yeah, some players there that on the men's side also getting a nice career boost after having really good weeks in Cincy. Okay, let's start on the women's side of things for the top 20 because we had some moves but no change at the top with Sabanka at one and Rebecca at two, Poula at three and Goff at four. But going into the US Open, all four players there are going to be trying to get to world number one. So we'll keep an eye on that. We did have a bit of a change in the middle of the top 10 with dropping down to number eight. Andrea going up to that spot number five. Noska goes up two spots to a Korea number six with Muka staying at number seven. Spedilina stays at nine with Anissum over at number 10. Kosuk 11, Bench at 12, and Osaka at 13. And then we have a lot of movement down the bottom half of the top 20 with Yovic going up to a career high number 14, two spots higher than last week. On Boo, despite not playing, goes up two spots as well. Schneider drops down two spots to 16 with Cast going up two spots to 17. Yial goes to career high number 18, two spots higher than last week with Alexandro going down to 19 and Palini dropping down to number 20, five spots lower than last week. So Palini, one of the big droppers of the week after last year's final is Cincy, all those points disappeared cuz she didn't play. So yeah, a lot of movement there obviously after 1,00 but of course with the US Open coming up, expect even more movement. Over to the race to finals now and still no one's qualified for the WTA side of things officially. Of course there's that Grand Slam rule. If you win a Grand Slam, you can qualify without having to be in the top eight. But we've got Rebecca at number one with Sabalanka at two, Andrea at three, and Mulla. He goes up to number four and Goff goes up to number five pushing Fedilina down to six. Muka goes down to seven, Noskar at eight, Kosuk at nine and Shiana at number 10. But it's going to be really tough for anybody outside the top 10 because there's a,000 points between 10 and 11 to get into the top 10. Of course, you have to be in the top eight. So yeah, the the US Open is going to be really important for those players, especially in that top 10. You know, Fionek and Costuk to gain some points on Noska and Mukava and try and take those last couple of spots as the year wraps up. Over on the men's side of things, we have no change at the top with center at number one. Verv goes up to number two, pushing Elkres down to number three after Elcarez lost all the points from Cincinnati last year. Oelim stays at four with Jovovic at five. Kaboli he goes up to a career high number six which is four spots higher than last week. Demon goes up to number seven pushing Mev down to number eight. Shelton drops down to number nine with Fritz dropping down to number 10. Feast and Thafo fly back into the top 20 with Feast going to a careerhigh 10 spots higher than last week to number 11 and Tafo at number 12, which is almost his career high. Hodar drops down two spots number 13. Musetti goes up a spot to 14, pushing Tien down to number 15. Bubble drops down to 16. Nakushima goes into career high as well. After a phenomenal couple of weeks, he goes up to number 17, pushing Menic down to 18. Lehchka to 19. Rude drops down to number 20 with Dari, Vashiro, and Rublev all falling out of the top 20 completely. So, a lot of moves there in the bottom half of that top 20 and especially with Feast and Tafo and Nakushima all doing so well and Kaboli all doing so well. Had massive moves. Over to the race to the finals now and we still only have two players qualified with Sinn and Zv qualified for the AB finals at the end of the year. Alcest stays at three. He's not too far behind and now that he's back, he can add to his total. Kaboli goes up to number four with Feast riding very high off that win. In Cincy going up to number five, pushing Shelton down to number six. Mev drops down to seven. Thafo is also now in the race of the finals up to number eight pushing Hodart down to number nine. Fritz jumps into number 10 with Jovovic, Oalim and Demon all falling out of the top 10 completely. So unlike the ladies side where it's sort of the top 10's pretty much locked in unless something happens at the US Open, on the men's side, there are so many players that could still be in the top eight by season's end. And just for a little bit of context, between Thafo, who's number eight, and Bouik, who's number 23, there's only a thousand points. And we know that, you know, 2,000 points at the US Open, and then after the US Open, Shanghai and Paris are worth a thousand. So, it's wide open who makes these top eight. And even if they're not in the top 10 right now, they could be outside the top 20. I mean, someone like Lesko at 22 could have a phenomenal couple of weeks and he could find himself back in the race to finals. So, yeah, on the men's side, the race is wide open. There it is. A lot of changes over the last couple weeks. We didn't do a change, you know, between the tournaments of Canada and Cincy. So, a lot's happened since the last time we did a ranking show. And we're not going to do one until the end of the US Open, which who knows, we could have a new number one on the women's side. We could have some massive change on the men's side. We could have some players qualifying for the finals race at the end of the year, you know, WTA finals, because once we get through the US Open, some of those spots are going to start, you know, filling up, especially on the ladies side because they're very close to that, you know, that threshold where, you know, they qualify no matter what their points, you know, they qualify on points. So, we'll see what happens over the next couple weeks, but give me some predictions. Who's going to win the US Open on the men and women's side? I feel like it's wide open on both sides because there's so many contenders on the ladies side, and with Sinn not being there, and Al coming back for the first time in months, I don't know if it's clearcut on the on the men's side either. But, let's see what happens over the next few weeks at the US Open. But there it is. Those are the rankings for this week. And so many changes to talk about.
