University Of Arkansas Housing Contract - Phase 4 - Room Selection
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video introduces Brooklyn Prince, a marketing intern from the University of Arkansas Housing department, who guides viewers through Phase 4 of the housing contracting process specifically focused on room selection. This phase begins by requiring students to log into their existing accounts in the Housing Contracting Portal and navigate past the completion page for Phase 3. Before reaching the actual room assignment stage, users must finish two specific pages: a confidential contract section and a safety addendum where they are required to read statements and enter their initials under "I agree" before proceeding further.
Once these preliminary steps are complete, students face different scenarios depending on whether they have already been assigned a roommate or need to select one from scratch. If a bonded roommate has already selected the desired room in a suite-style building like Clack Hall, both parties must jointly choose specific adjacent rooms that match their group size; for instance, selecting Clack Hall 103E automatically requires also selecting 103F. In traditional halls such as Pomfret, students with bonded roommates should look for empty rooms indicated by a count of two out of two available beds and select the entire unit to ensure they are placed together.
After choosing the residence hall and specific rooms, the process moves to assigning individual beds within those spaces, where users have exactly ten minutes to make their selections before the timer expires and availability reverts for other students. Following this step, a confirmation page appears requiring one final click on "save and continue" to lock in the assignment for both roommates. The video concludes by noting that if changes are needed after reaching the confirmation stage, users can return to the safety addendum or hall selection pages provided beds remain available, while also offering contact information via email at housing@uark.edu or phone number 479-575-4687 for any further questions.

Housing. We're here at a favorite
[music] spot at the U of A campus, the

process. In this video, I'm going to
walk you through room selection. [music]
To begin the room selection phase of the
Phase 4 process, log in as you have done
previously into the Housing Contracting
Portal. If you have completed the
previous steps in the process, [music]
you may click save and continue on the
Phase 3 completion page. You will have
two pages to complete [music] before
your room selection, the confidential
contract page and the safety addendum
page.
On the safety addendum page, read each
of the statements and enter in your
initials [music] under I agree. When
completed, click save and continue.

>> If your roommate has already selected
your room, continue to the room
assignment status page. You may review
your assignment, confirm to keep your
assignment, or choose to [music] change
your assignment for you and your
roommate. Continue to the end of Phase 4
if you don't want to change your
assignment.
If you don't already have an assignment,
you will arrive at the hall selection
page. [music]
Select a residence hall to see all
available rooms in that building. Once
you have found the room you want, click
the select room option. If you have a
bonded roommate and have a suite-style
building, you must select the applicable
number of rooms for your group.
For example, if you select Clack Hall,
you will have to select one other room.
You will have to select Clack Hall 103E
and 103F. Note the floor room map is
available by clicking show room info
[music] when you have selected a
residence hall.
If you have a bonded roommate and have
[music] a traditional-style hall like
Pomfret, you only need select a room
that shows two out of two. This means
the room is empty. Click [music] save
and continue at the bottom of the page.
Next, you will come to the assign beds
page where you can assign you and your
roommate to a specific [music] bed
within the room. You will notice that
you have 10 minutes to assign yourself
and your roommate to a bed within the
room. While the timer's active, [music]
it is being held and is not available to
other students. Finally, you will arrive
at the confirmation page where you
confirm the assignment for you and your
roommate by clicking save and continue.
At this stage, if you would like to
change your assignment, [music] click
back on the safety addendum page. Click
save and continue and proceed to change
rooms if beds are available for you and
your roommate. [music]
