Hi, [music] I'm Brooklyn Prince, a
marketing intern at the University of
Arkansas Housing. We're standing here at
the nationally recognized [music] Fed
School of Architecture, and we're here
to help you through the third phase of
the housing contract. This video will
help you through the roommate [music]
process.
To begin, go to campusing.org.edu.
[music]
Log in with your username and password.
Select residence hall
contract/livewithparent
form. Continue the academic 20252026
residence hall application. [music] On
the roommates group page, you can select
your roommate by details, by profiles,
or by suggested roommates.
Roommate groups are limited to two
students only. During phase 4 room
selection in fourperson suites, pairs
may not save the remaining two beds.
If you do not wish to select a roommate,
then click save and continue. Unless you
select a designated single room during
room selection, you will still have a
roommate.
The roommate selection process is driven
by a group leader who has the ability to
start or end a group. During room
selection, the student with the first
selection time may assign both students.
Students in living learning communities
may only select roommates in the same
living learning community. Students in
the honors program may select [music]
roommates from the general population.
When selecting a roommate by details,
students may select a roommate by either
their student number or by their web
name, which is the front part of their
student email address.
Once you have found the student that you
are looking for, [music] you may message
the student by selecting send message or
invite them to your group by selecting
add to group. [music] The student
receive an email and confirm they want
to join your group. Students must
respond through the portal, not through
email, to confirm roommate groups. You
may also search for roommate by
profiles. This allows students to select
profiles that are important to them and
search for a potential roommate who
matches your profile priorities.
Select the profile answer you want to
search by and select search roommates at
the bottom. Once you have found your
preferred roommate, you may message or
invite them to your group.
Finally, you may search for a roommate
using the suggested roommates feature.
The portal will show the percentage
match of the profile answers to your
completed personal profile. You may send
messages to a potential roommate or you
may invite a roommate to your group.
Success. Now you and your roommate are
in a group together.
A few final notes about roommate
selection. All correspondence is sent
directly to students York email
accounts. It is important that this
email is checked frequently to respond
to any potential roommate messages or
confirm roommates. Again, students must
respond through the portal, not through
email to confirm roommate groups.
Students will also receive messages if a
group leader deletes a roommate group.
You may review or edit pending or
outgoing roommate requests at any time
by going back to the roommates group
page. Check the housing calendar at
housing.arch.edu
to get more information about the room
