Ukrainians who fought on the side of the Russian occupiers were captured near Chasiv Yar

Three Ukrainian soldiers who were serving with the occupying Russian forces have been captured near Chasiv Yar, marking a significant development in the ongoing conflict. The 24th King Daniel Separate Mechanized Brigade reported that these prisoners originated from temporarily occupied Crimea and the left bank of the Kursk region. Similar to their Russian counterparts, these Ukrainians claimed that their commanders had allegedly promised them service far away from the front lines, leading them to fight for an opposing side rather than their own country. The brigade emphasized that the fate of these individuals could differ significantly from that of regular Russian servicemen, as they face potential charges of treason and other crimes against Ukraine if investigations confirm their guilt. According to the unit, the legal consequences for these captured soldiers could be severe, with a court potentially determining liability that includes up to 15 years in prison. Bratchic also pointed out that the information regarding the stability of Chasiv Yar is not being fully reported to Russian leadership, explaining why Vladimir Putin has been spreading misleading claims about supposed Russian advances at the front.
