Yeah. >> Hey, it's KK. Metal voice man the streets. I'm in Seyville, New Jersey tonight with Joey Cassada and JJ French. >> Guys, you know the name of the band? >> Twisted Sister. Ah, there it is. Of >> course. Did you want to do B brother? I didn't know. >> No, it doesn't matter. >> We'll go with Twisted Sister. >> First night of the tour. >> Yeah. >> Okay. We got a couple of shows coming up. I know they wanted me to highlight the October 2nd at the Big E and I think October 8th at Niagara for the Canadian our Canadian fans up in uh Toronto. >> All right. Uh I guess the question is how did you get involved, Joey? Did did JJ get chained? I know I know I saw him on Zrock. >> He was on Zrock and funny story, Sebastian was on Zrock and so was D on Zrock. Eddie was on Zrock. Um only AJ and Mark didn't make an appearance. If we had a third season, I'm assuming they would have been on. But listen, I've I've been a Twisted fan since I'm this big. One of my favorite bands of of all time. It's in my book. So, >> good plug by the way. >> Sorry, we have you booked the book. >> So, to, you know, to be asked to be part of this legendary band and to fill, you know, some of the biggest shoes in rock history drumming wise, it's an absolute honor. >> You got some big shoes to fill, AJ. >> That's that's an understatement. >> Yes. >> Filling in. But, uh, I think you can do it. I I've watched it for years. I I liked Zrock. I thought it was one of the funniest things I ever saw. It was a curve your enthusiasm. You guys making the appearances on it. >> Wait, didn't I play a slimy manager? >> You played a manager. That's what I did, didn't I? >> A club manager. >> He had one of the funniest lines in the history of the show. He had there was I was on set that day was crying. There was a giant disco ball and you're like, "Someone get John Travolta's left testicle out of here." >> Did you Yeah. So, uh, yeah, the Z rock that was a fight. >> So, what what decided to decided to revive me? >> Well, the band was the band retired 2016. Twisted Sister retired in 2016 and that was going to be the end of it. It was our 40th anniversary tour. And then D called me and Eddie up a year ago and said, "Hey, why don't we do a 50th?" And I said, "No, let's not do a 50th." Was 10 years later, we've been out of it. And uh then he convinced me and Eddie. He really worked on us and we went, "Okay." And then you booked this whole tour and then he calls me an Eddie in December and says, "Guess what? My body is betrayed. I can't I can't." >> He's hurt again. >> Not dying. But you know, look, there's difference between >> uh some a life-threatening illness and a careerthreatening illness, right? It was career threatening. You know, he just couldn't maintain the physicality of the shows, at least his level that he felt he needed to represent something. So then we were left with what do we do? And one thought was, "Okay, we'll pack it in." The other one was, "What do we who would he get?" And it's a natural choice because if you asked any uh any headbangers who have any history whatsoever, you said, "Who could possibly place Dean Lewis as Sebastian?" It almost was automatic. And I called Sebastian. He was like, "Dude, are you kidding me, man? That's like the greatest dude I ever heard." >> Now, was he already in the band at this point? >> No. In fact, that was the first call >> was to see if Sebastian was interested because if he wasn't, the whole thing would have been thrown out. So, the first thing was, is he interested? Then, how do we do it? So, what happened was we we called for a rehearsal. Sebastian flew in. It was the coldest day. We went, it was like one degree, right? >> Snow up to here. We're walking over mountain cold. I said, "Well, let's let's see what it sounds like." And who called you? Danny called the guy a couple of guys called you. We already had Russell. Russell's been filling up for Mark for years. So he's like a guy. >> He's from D's band. >> Well, yeah. De's band. He's played with he's filled in for Mark shows, you know. Well, you know, things don't work out together. >> I mean, things don't work out. I'm not going to get into the specific. Let's just say Twist has had 20 members all in all. And I've never spoken about any of the ex-members in my life. It's none of anybody's business. You know, marriages don't last. Some things just don't last. >> You purged them from the dictator. And that was it. So anyway, that's what happened. By the way, the dictators, I mean, you remember members of the dictators got twisted at one point. >> Exactly. Remember that? >> A lot of people don't even know this, but the first drummer, the guy who started Twisted, Mel was in the dictator for a short period of time. Yeah. So the dictators actually had three Richie Teter, Mark, and Mel all Xators. If you think about that's kind of crazy. That's a crazy thing. So anyway, anyway, it's a long history. Obviously, we've been around for a very, very long time. So that was an excelling looking forward to it. We really love the fact that we get back out there to play with the fans. Sebastian is a wonderful choice. We're on stage. I because we're feeling the energy is amazing, isn't it? >> We We heard the sound check. You guys sound really good. >> Sebastian is crushing it.
