Turkish Star Linked With Toffee Move... | Everton News Daily

Christian Nørgaard is due at Everton tomorrow for his medical as Everton look to wrap up his £7 million move from Arsenal to join David Moyes's men. He'll hopefully then make his way out to Germany. He has been training with Arsenal during the pre-season, so you'd expect he's got a decent level of fitness. Enough, fingers crossed, to appear in Everton's second friendly in Germany against Stuttgart at the weekend. Listen, it it's a hole that is needed filling in that midfield. Idrissa Gueye has moved on. Everton had looked at other options. Well known that they wanted Morten Hjulmand, who went off to Atlético Madrid. They looked around, but I think the thing with Nørgaard is, and we'll go into this in more details on other videos, but he is a defensive midfield player who sits in front of that back four, and Everton don't really have that. James Garner will learn a bit off him, that's for sure, but it also means Garner's free to go and get involved higher up the pitch. We seen that at times when he's had a bit more freedom. He hasn't got that ability to pick a pass, and he's he's good from the edge of the box with shots and stuff. I think it gives Everton a few different ways of playing, so I think it's a sensible move. It mightn't be a sort of exciting move that some people wanted. It's um a player who will come in. He featured 20 times last season for Arsenal across all of the competitions they were in. Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup. The thing he had seven Premier League appearances, but only started one game, but he was a lad he played regularly for Brentford. He was the Brentford captain for a couple of years before he moved on. So, you know, he comes in, and I think he'll do a good job for Everton, and and he is a designated number six, which is what we've needed, so um it's all about piecing everything together. So, Christian Nørgaard due on Merseyside to have his medical tomorrow. That's at Finch Farm. Everton are now working on a deal to bring in a right back and while Alistair Johnston remains an option for Everton, uh this was confirmed by Martin O'Neill last week. There hasn't really been any movements in that as such. That's still ongoing. It's the deal nowhere near far along as what some people reported. It's understood that the 27-year-old did indicate and has indicated he'd be interested in a move as a Mezy side should the two clubs agree on a deal. Uh but Everton do remain in talks or in negotiations with a few right backs as they try and get this position nailed down. They obviously had interest in Guela Doue, but that fell to the side when the player wasn't really interested in coming in because of other options. It now looks like he is moving to PSG, so fair enough, no problem losing out uh to people outside. Was that Guela Doue outside saying, "Wait." Um no problem with that losing out to probably the European champions. Um so, you know, for players, but he is a good player, of course. Everton have looked at elsewhere as well to Jed Spence, but he's thought to be too expensive after Tottenham are asking for 40 million pound for a player that they don't want. So, Everton are in for other right backs and are speaking to clubs and while Johnston does remain um a possibility, Everton are still looking elsewhere as well, but hopefully it won't be too much longer that they can get one side down and get him in the door and I think once that happens, I think a lot of people will be a lot happier with Everton's business this summer. There's still room for one, possibly two wingers. Obviously, there's uncertainty over Jack Grealish and Illiman Ndiaye, so Everton will be looking for another wide player, it looks like. Some people really want another striker brought in. I do as well, even if the two stay, I I still think the squad could do with three. Um and I know there's some people want two right backs this summer. I don't see that happening, but getting one would make a big difference. Uh, but Everton remain committed to doing that next. Everton were linked with a move for Turkish winger Barış Alper Yılmaz over the weekend. He is a was in excellent form last season. Played 49 times, scoring eight goals and registering 16 assists for Galatasaray. He, uh, then went off to the World Cup where he was involved in three matches for Turkey scoring one goal. The player is of interest to Everton, but the Toffees are also considering other wide players uh, should they not be able to do a deal for Jack Grealish or İlkay Gündoğan does indeed move on. Um, Yılmaz is thought to be on that list, but rumors of a 35 million pound bid that came out of Turkey over the weekend are thought to be wide of the mark. Um, he is a player Everton will probably continue to monitor. He's very quick, which is something we don't have. Um, and like I said, those 24 goal involvements last season would be huge for Everton to have him in the squad. So, listen, there's there will be others considered of course there will, but um, but as the you know, the reports that over the weekend the deal isn't isn't anywhere near what the Turkish media would report and that's as well. Uh, one right back who Everton have been linked with today and I'm not sure how much is in it is Atlético Madrid and Argentinian right back Nahuel Molina. He has got less than a year left on his deal in Madrid, 28 years of age. He is a World Cup winner. Uh, he's been at Atlético for four years and in each of those seasons he's played over more than 40 games a season. Um, I don't know. Everton seem to have been linked with about 25 right backs this summer and I I what everyone will be saying on the other side of this camera. Let's just sign one of them at least because the links are thick and fast, but like you said, a very, very experienced player in Alena. Is he real? Is that real? You know, we're waiting to see, but Everton are considering, like I said before, in talks with a number of options. We'll wait and see which one it is. And I have just been speaking about Elif Elmas when we were talking about Baris Yilmaz there. Um Elif Elmas has joined up with the Everton squad. People have been interested in when he's available after the World Cup. Obviously, the players are given some leave after it. We've seen lots of training videos of Enner Valencia. He's been the subject of a lot of speculation. Obviously, Al Hilal um were reported last week to be just about to make a bid for the player having agreed personal terms with Enner Valencia of around, allegedly, 270 grand a week. The player is reportedly interested. There's been lots of rumors saying that he's interested in leaving Everton this summer. Well, if that is the case, then a club who wants to buy him needs to come in with the right offer to tempt Everton, but the player has joined up with the Everton squad now, and we'll wait and see whether or not he's available at all at the weekend in Stoke. That might be a little bit early for him to be involved there. Everton may well be looking more so at the Newcastle game next Wednesday before we see Enner Valencia's involvement. And if he's still here, and there's no reason why he shouldn't be because no one's put a bid in, then you'd expect him to feature in the final pre-season game, of course, against Lille at Hill Dickinson Stadium. One Everton player who is interesting a number of clubs outside of Everton is Alex Iwobi. He's reportedly got Coventry City, Hull City, and Ipswich Town all vying for his signature. right. did look earlier in the summer as though he would make the move to Hull City. They were apparently ready with a 20 million pound bid for the 23-year-old midfield player. The deal didn't go through at the time. There was confusion. Some reports saying Hull City had put the staff on it, others saying Everton were unsure whether they were going to let him go. Idrissa is in the final year of his contract. So therefore, if Everton were to get an offer of around excuse me 18 to 20 million, I could see them letting Idrissa go. Otherwise, you've got to give him a new deal. But um apparently as well as those three clubs, there's a couple of Italian clubs who were looking at taking him as well. So it seems though he's got quite a few people interested in taking him. This is a player who featured 29 times for Everton in the Premier League last season and he's been involved in all of the pre-season games so far. So Idrissa attracting interest from elsewhere.
