Video summary
The video features a nostalgic journey through the most popular toys from the late 1990s and early 2000s, as the host unboxes a collection of items he craved as a child but never owned. He begins by revealing "Mighty Beans," small plastic figures containing metal balls that jump when shaken, noting that while they are not as fun as remembered, they successfully satisfy his curiosity about their inner mechanisms. The excitement continues with the discovery of "ZooBooks," a series of educational books featuring animals like ostriches and dinosaurs, which he had seen on television but could never afford, followed by a demonstration of Beyblade X sets that require assembly and spinning to battle one another.
As the unboxing progresses, the host encounters various interactive gadgets, including the robotic dog "Poo-Chi," which he finds amusingly defective after its tail falls off during play. He also tests the classic reaction game "Bop It" and the gravity-defying "Fushigi" ball, both of which remind him of simpler times before modern distractions took over his attention. The collection includes light-up roller skates known as "Heelys," which he finds terrifying yet divine, and a Spider-Man web blaster glove that allows for water and missile shooting, sparking playful role-playing against the Green Goblin.
The final segment of the video is dedicated to sensory toys like moon sand and silly putty, which the host uses to heal his inner child, alongside the original Tamagotchi virtual pet and boxing gloves called "Sock 'em Boppers." Throughout the experience, he reflects on how these toys once brought whimsy and joy to his life before adulthood made him worry about doctors and responsibilities. Despite some items being used or slightly broken, the host concludes that revisiting these childhood favorites successfully restored a sense of fun and magic, proving that one can still be a "talentless loser" and have a great time with simple playthings.

I'm almost 30 years old now. Back in
1996,
I came out of my mother's womb and what
preceded was my childhood. Today, we
have a bounty in front of me. I'm so
excited right now. We have
20? 15 to 20-ish?
Of the most popular toys most most pop
most popular the most popular toys from
the 90s and early 2000s. I'm so excited.
The task was thus, find me the toys that
I wanted so badly in my childhood that I
would see on TV and bring them to me for
my greedy little hands. I feel I was
robbed of a childhood. So now, I'll have
one here today. Let's get to it.
I love you.
>> [laughter]
>> Explosion! I have a knife. Let's see.
First one up. I don't know what any Ooh,
a gift bag for little old me. I don't
know what any of these are. This is all
a surprise to my
complicated brain. I'm excited to see
what we have. I'm just going to dump
these suckers out.
>> [laughter]
>> Get them out of this prison.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh my god, if you don't know what these
[ __ ] things are. These are little
jumping beans. [music] Tiger Bean. These
are Mighty Beans. That's right. Mighty
Beans. Oh.
>> [music]
>> Are
Are is there something inside of these?
We have to find out. But these were so
much fun. You just kind of
Were they so much fun?
Yes.
And they would warble.
These aren't as fun as I remember them
being
>> [laughter]
>> Come on, this way.
>> [laughter]
>> This guy's British. This is
Punk Monkey Bean. This one's a cool
dragon. This is T-Rex Oh, it's a T-Rex.
There's
Sumo Bean. He's got little titties. Zoom
in on those little titties.
Well,
these aren't as fun as I remember them.
But that's okay. But you know what's not
okay? Is my curiosity not being fed.
Shark Bean, you will go under the knife.
I want
to find out
what is inside of you.
You stay here. Do I have like a like a
something sinister?
>> Hammer.
>> I'll be back. No, don't show my garage.
It's [laughter] bad.
It's
bad.
It's so bad.
Mhm.
Mighty Bean.
Mhm. Mighty
Mighty Bean.
She's a squirter. Can you see her?
I got it.
Aw. All it is is just a little
metal ball. All right, next one. That
was a pleasant surprise. I'm very
excited for all of these because
Aw.
It's Asbestis.
>> What does Asbestis look like? Is it like
that?
>> Little tiny needles in your lungs.
>> Mhm. [snorts]
Invisible.
>> [music]
>> It's more
Mighty Beans inside. 100 plus beans.
Play cool game, see inside. Mighty
Beans.
What do you mean 100 beans?
>> That is original packaging.
Uh never mind.
>> [laughter]
>> Original packaging? My ass.
>> Oh.
They have cool tricks on the back. The
Bean Dazzler. This is the toughest trick
of all. Hold your favorite bean upright
in your hand and let it flip down your
forearm. When it reaches your inner
elbow, snap your arm out straight and
send the bean flying into the air and
try and catch it again.
It's gone from my [ __ ] god.
It's not worth it.
>> When I was a child in the early 2000s
and I skimmed my knee or I was
open-mouth coughing in right into my
mother's mouth, [laughter] she would
just take me to the doctor and I didn't
really have to deal with it. But now I
am an adult and so if I'm sick and I
need to get something done, I have to
figure out the doctor myself, which can
be such a pain.
>> [laughter]
>> It's not fun. I I hate figuring out the
doctor. But with Zocdoc, they make it so
so so easy. Zocdoc not only has over
150,000
providers, but they also let you search
doctors in your area and compare them.
So then you don't have to call the
doctor's office, set up an appointment
just to figure out that you actually
don't like this doctor or they don't
actually specialize in the thing that
you specifically need. And if you want
to hear from real people, that's a hard
thing to do traditionally, but with
Zocdoc, they actually have patient
reviews of the doctors. So you can
scroll through those and see if this
doctor is going to be a good fit for
you. Honestly though, I think my
favorite thing about them in a world
filled with paid things and subscription
fees and all that stuff, Zocdoc is free.
They're literally just there to help you
make going to the doctor less stressful.
So if you want to take your health more
seriously and stop open-mouth coughing
into people's faces, you can go in the
description down below or to
ZOCDOC.com/EthanNester.
That's Zocdoc.com/EthanNester.
Stop open-mouth coughing directly into
strangers' [music] faces. Figure it out.
And figure it out with Zocdoc.
Next package.
This one's from the United States Postal
Service. Something from eBay.
So, many, a majority of these had to be
bought on eBay.
>> A lot of these are originals, uh, but
some of them are still in production and
were available still for purchase.
>> Me thinks it's a book. And if it's one
of the books that I'm excited about, I'm
going to leap and jump because I think
that what could be in side here today is
a collection of books that I always
wanted. I saw these books on the
television, and I was a big animal boy.
And I think that mayhaps
these could be zoo books.
>> Now your child can visit steamy jungles,
grassy plains, and the dark depths of
the oceans to meet and learn surprising
facts about the magnificent animals that
live there, all through the captivating,
colorful pages of ZooBooks, the
publication especially created for young
readers.
>> Ostriches
and other rarities, sharing the world
with animals, birds of prey, gorillas,
bears, sea otters, nocturnal animals,
cheetahs, alligators and crocodiles,
dinosaurs, orangutans. Where is 1994?
Right right down there. Oh my god, I
wanted the ZooBooks. Is this ostriches
and other ratites? [music]
I don't even know what that is. Maybe
they'll tell me in the book. Not all
birds can fly. One such group called
ratites [music] include ostriches,
rheas, rees, emus, cassowaries, and
kiwis. Scientists think that the
ancestors of ratites took the place of
the dinosaurs when the dinosaurs died
out. This is so cool.
>> [laughter]
>> She looks like a raw cat. Slay, mama.
This is so sick. This is all I wanted. I
wanted these books so bad. Look at this.
Doesn't it bring you back to when the
world was a better place?
Clinton?
Was he 1990
1994?
No fun.
Some products that make life more
convenient for us, like spray cans and
Styrofoam food containers, give off C8
CFCs that eat up the ozone. Every
molecule of CFC releases chlorine atoms,
each of which can destroy 100,000
molecules of ozone.
What they didn't talk about that's also
killing the planet is the app that makes
Jake Paul gay.
>> [laughter]
>> This is special. I'm so excited to look
at this more. Let's do this big guy
right here.
On the corner, this says Hasbro. Is it
actually or is it cap, bro?
>> [laughter]
>> Beyblade X
>> [music]
>> Beyblades were so much fun.
Yes, I forgot that you had to make them.
You have to put them You got to put them
together. Okay. This
This
Put them all like this.
Yes. Yes. yes, yes, yes.
I'm remembering.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, this is so exciting. This should be
a drinking game. Not for children.
>> [laughter]
>> Sam, you put that down for one moment.
You put that down for one moment.
>> I use the dome.
>> Oh, like this? Oh, this I thought this
was just a part of the packaging.
>> You ready to let it rip?
>> 3 2 1
>> Yeah!
Yeah! Come on! Come on! I don't remember
what color I was. Was I I was pink? I
You were pink.
>> Come on.
>> The girl color.
>> [laughter]
>> Yeah! Boys rule!
All right.
That was fun. Also, viewers at home,
don't worry. I'm not going to throw all
this stuff away. I'll donate the toys
to Sam.
You can take all this
all this home. Listen, we're losing
light. We have to go faster. Inshallah,
I will find my favorite toy. What is
this?
No way.
This is the robot dog. [ __ ] Clanker
dog. Poo-Chi, the interactive puppy.
Spencer!
Spencer! What are you doing? Come here.
You want a treat? You want a treat? Come
meet your new sister. Oh, his tail
doesn't have a tail anymore. Did it have
a tail before? Yeah, it had a tail
before. It doesn't have a tail anymore.
Oh, wait. No, no, no. It's right here.
Oh, it did have a tail. It just
fell off. Think and what is this? Tail?
Penis?
>> Yes. Bring my boy to life.
>> Spencer!
New cousin. New cousin just dropped.
Holiday Poo-Chis.
Sit.
Lie down.
Now just sleeping. Poo-Chi is a puppy.
Needs sleep like a real puppy. Does it
walk? What's this about?
Look at him.
It's kind of a shitty toy.
>> [laughter]
>> It just kind of sucks. Oh, now here's
the bad thing. There's no off switch on
this for sure. You you just have to
simply take out the batteries. I know
it. I know [music] you do. I'm so sorry.
I have to
use the
>> [laughter]
>> ice. Don't worry, Booji.
This won't hurt a bit. Goodbye, my
friend.
Cue the scene from Marley and Me.
>> You're a great dog.
>> Dude, hands down to death. Brought to
life after 30 years.
>> [laughter]
>> 5 minutes.
>> Only
>> Taken offline again.
>> Okay, next one. We've got everyone's
favorite toy.
Distilled water.
That's so cool. I think.
Now.
>> Killer, dude.
High score.
>> Without skipping ahead, tell me in the
comments section
what this is and if you were good at it.
I'd like to think
that I was pretty good at it. And I'm
pumped that it already has batteries in
it. Welcome
to the best game. I'll probably keep
this.
>> Hey, you
>> Oh, it's in rough shape. This thing has
been played.
Oh, baby, this has been played. This is
[music] Bop It.
>> [laughter]
[cough]
>> [ __ ] I don't remember that we're doing
Hold on, we're doing the ex-
>> [screaming]
>> [ __ ] I don't remember what the things
are. It's too long.
[ __ ] this is twist.
>> Hey, you win. Not.
>> You got [laughter] me.
>> Flick it.
>> [ __ ] it's so fast.
>> [laughter]
>> I've forgotten everything.
>> Spin it.
>> What?
>> Oh, boy.
Pull it.
>> This is
[ __ ] the
>> Bop it.
Flick it.
>> I I think I can't bop it on this side.
I think it might be [ __ ]
I think it might be [ __ ] because it's
damaged on this side. It's I- it's
pre-bopped.
>> Flick it.
>> See, I I think it's I think it's goofed.
If you can't bop it on this side, then
Bop It is meant to be bopped on both
sides.
>> [applause]
>> That explosion happened in the city of
Hayward, which is about 40 mi southeast
of San Francisco. It's got a population
of more than 160,000 people. This is
what we know so far. The explosion
happened just before 10:00 a.m.
>> Spin it.
Pull it.
Bop it.
Spin it.
Bop it.
>> I bopped it.
>> [sighs and gasps]
[snorts]
>> I had no clue what was in the box that I
pulled. This is something that I had
never tried before as a child, but
something I had seen on television
plenty
of times.
>> It's here. It's wild. It's sweeping the
nation. It's
>> Fushigi!
>> [music]
>> You can make Fushigi defy gravity and
appear to float in midair with maneuvers
like the prayer cross, the enigma,
levitation, and so many more.
>> Anyone
can Fush can Fushigi.
>> [laughter]
>> Does it look like something?
>> [laughter]
>> Does it have
instructions or anything?
>> Oh, and it glows in the dark. There's a
free DVD inside. Don't No, there's not.
They took out the DVD.
>> Fushigi is a mesmerizing is mesmerizing.
It is magical. It is simply amazing and
even stress-relieving. From the minute
you pick it up for the first time,
you'll be engaged in and determined to
unlock the mystery through motion
manipulation. Truly make Fushigi defy
gravity and appear to float in midair.
Whether you're young or old, you can
conquer the heart of Fushigi and
mesmerize your friends, family, and
coworkers alike. The art of Fushigi
mystifies all that come in contact with
its abilities as you appear to float and
move in ways and that confuse the
senses. Fushigi's an incredible
stress-maneuvering tool. Magic? Maybe.
An illusion? Maybe. You decide.
[laughter]
They're magic Fushigi, the magic gravity
ball.
Warning, Fushigi is addictive
>> [laughter]
>> and mind-blowing.
Does it look like I'm doing it?
>> You should be pretty good at it.
>> Fushigi!
>> [laughter]
>> Does it look like I'm doing something
from that angle at all?
Oh, cool.
That's good cuz for me, I'm just holding
>> [laughter]
>> It's just holding a ball
and doing [ __ ]
Man, it makes me sad. I go on my phone
all day, every day, and I'm like, "Oh,
man." And I be doing doing that.
And I think back of my childhood, we all
we needed was a stupid [ __ ] ball, and
we were having fun, and the world was
whimsical. Where has our whimsy gone?
Clavicular stole my whimsy.
I challenge to Clavicular to
Russian roulette. Next box. What do we
have in the box? Man, we already got Zoo
Books. We already got Fushigi. We got
Bop It. We got Mighty Beanz. We got this
[ __ ] dog.
Oh my god.
Yes!
I had one of these things. I [ __ ]
loved it, and it's used. It's got pen
things on it already.
Oh my god.
>> So, you want to play Roller Derby?
30 to 1.
>> No.
Oh.
Oh, [ __ ]
[ __ ] Come on. Please. [laughter]
Please.
God.
Please.
Come on.
God damn it.
What is it?
>> [laughter]
>> Six.
>> Oh my god, you made the high score of
six points.
>> I did it.
>> Did you throw a Mighty Bean in there?
>> Did I?
Please.
Oh, you're right. You could [ __ ]
Remember the whimsy of being a child? I
do. Oh my god, dude.
>> [laughter]
>> I beat the highest score of six. My
brother is coming here tomorrow and I'm
going to show him all of these toys and
he's going to be quite excited.
That makes me so happy. Okay, this box
is
a creation in its own right.
Wait, Elefun. [screaming]
Oh my god.
>> [music]
[music]
>> I remember you Elefun. I never had an
Elefun, but I remember it. Okay, let's
see how many
batteries I need. Oh.
>> [laughter]
>> I don't have these kind of batteries.
What does it take? Why?
>> [laughter]
>> Does this need four C batteries? Oh,
wait.
Oh, it it already does have it. Okay,
it's sick. I didn't realize that.
Whoops. This is awesome.
It didn't come with any things.
No, it's just the box and
the nets.
>> [laughter]
>> Is it
I assumed that there was something in it
already.
>> Is there nothing?
>> No.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, wait. There is.
Yes, Elefun. Yeah.
Oh,
litter.
>> [laughter]
>> Yay, litter.
My whimsy's returning. Clavicular, you
won't get away with it this time.
>> Where are these coming from? Is it
>> [laughter]
>> I want to look inside of you.
Ah,
I see.
Oh.
Wow.
Incredible. You, what do you possess?
Then again, for anybody watching, I'm
not going to throw any of these out.
Especially not you.
Especially
not
you. Oh
my god. These are brand spanking new.
Oh
my god. I wanted Heelys so bad. Oh, and
these are the light-up ones. Holy [ __ ]
I like don't want to even
>> [laughter]
>> They're so premium. How much for the
Heelys?
>> $50.
>> It's for 50 bucks. Damn. You know how
like sneakerheads will have the
Off-White They'll have Off-White
sneakers and they'll have the tag on it,
and then you have to keep the tag on.
This is that same thing. Oh, this is
divine. This is simply divine. Okay, so
you got this, right?
>> [music]
>> You got this thing, and then you pop it
in here.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> And when everything had this plastic
that was really tough and would cut you.
Oh, remember that? So great. Oh, yeah.
Mhm, not going to lie to you.
I am a little bit afraid. I'm not even
going to lace them up. Don't need to.
Not where I'm going.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> [laughter]
>> And you would just walk around like
this.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh my god, I still have it. I remember.
I remember.
Going through an airport on these bad
boys, can you imagine? [laughter]
Oh.
Oh, baby. Come on.
It's like we're filming a Thrasher
video. These are horrifying.
>> [laughter]
>> These are so scary.
>> It comes with a USB?
>> Yeah, cuz they light up.
>> Do they have lithium batteries in the
soles of it?
>> [laughter]
[laughter]
>> That's actually [ __ ] crazy.
Lift to charge. It even says right
there. I'm such a fool.
>> Imagine they're actually lithium
>> [laughter]
>> You're not allowed onto a [ __ ] plane.
>> Those are charging up. We'll have to see
these in the moonlight. Oh, I'm so
happy. This is great. All right, we have
1 2 3 4 four boxes left. I'm very
excited to see what is in each of these.
>> Jesus Christ.
>> Oh my god, holy [ __ ] [ __ ] Okay,
we'll do the
the less exciting one first because I'm
really excited about the Spider-Man
gloves. I think I had some of those.
>> [laughter]
[laughter]
>> Yes.
I could power a school with this. Now
we've got something crazy.
Oh.
Oh, yes.
>> Spider-Man's got some new tricks up his
sleeve with the Spider-Man triple action
web blaster. Three ways to shoot webs,
water, and missiles now all in one.
>> They didn't care who I was
till I put on the glove.
OJ
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, it gets really cold.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, back off, Goblin.
Back off, Goblin.
Hey, back off, Goblin.
That's right.
>> [laughter]
>> That's right.
That's right. Back off, Goblin.
Hey.
>> [laughter]
>> Come on, dude. [laughter]
>> [snorts]
[laughter]
>> I really feel like Spider-Man.
>> [laughter]
[laughter]
>> Oh, Spidey.
So sad.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, man. [sighs] Spider-Man web fluid.
Mhm. Do not spray it on walls, floors,
clothing, furniture, or [laughter]
vinyl.
String may contain certain types of
services may stain certain types
non-toxic non-flammable. You can eat
this if you want it's non-toxic.
Poor little kid getting so excited to be
Spider-Man and he's pathetic.
I'm going to open up this one.
I remember
I remember this.
Oh my God. I don't remember what it's
called though.
>> Robosapien
>> Having your own personal [music] robot
is not science fiction. The technology
experts agree Robosapien is here now
with 67 functions and four programming
modes ready to carry out your every
command program a combination of moves
and Robosapien's interactive reflex
[music] system makes him spring to life
with plenty of attitude.
>> Oh, it's got so much goop on it.
And the gunk Oh, but it's played with
you know, and he'd 4D [snorts]
batteries. [laughter]
>> [laughter]
>> We did not have power figured out back
Should I take them from Elefun? Elefun
your body will be useful yet. It's the
perfect trade all their C batteries. I'm
surprised we haven't had to use like a
car battery [laughter] yet for some of
these.
Oh wait. No, no, no, they are D
batteries. These aren't the same
battery. These need even bigger
batteries than this.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh my God. I don't
know what kind of battery they are D
batteries. What the [ __ ] Thank you for
your service.
Final
two
boxes. [clears throat] This has got some
heft to it. There's something in here.
Tamagotchi the original virtual reality
pet silly putty
Oh, there's silly putty. Yes.
I don't know what this is.
Ultimate sand variety pack.
Oh, it's just National Geographic sand.
>> Moon sand, moon sand. The sand that
molds like dough.
>> I remember you.
Look at the way it's moving.
Do you think it's like the moon the
people on Apollo 2
are
feeling the same sand? It really does
mold like dough.
It's much like it. It's so Is this the
same as kinetic sand?
>> Same thing.
>> You can just do whatever you want with
it.
Just like you
>> [laughter]
>> This is me playing.
Is this what they call
healing [snorts] my inner child? Is this
what my therapist has been wanting me to
do? All I had to do was spend a thousand
dollars
>> on [laughter] toys.
>> See, and I'm not even making anything
cool.
But I'm still
having fun. Just goes to show you can be
a talentless loser and still have fun.
>> How
How old is this
silly [laughter] putty?
>> Mhm.
This was a toy. This is
glorified gum.
>> [laughter]
>> Mhm.
Seconds of fun.
Everyone knows what a Tamagotchi is, but
not everyone remembers this and
apparently I don't either. You doodle
me, wash me, then you start again. [ __ ]
Yeah.
>> [laughter]
>> Yes.
That's all about punk rock, baby. Come
on.
The final box of the video. Now, I'm not
sure what will be in the box, but I was
told
that this should be the last box. I'm
going to guess
what this could be. Could be Moon Shoes.
It's not.
I never had this.
I never had that. But I did have
sock soccer They were called Soccer
Boppers.
>> [laughter]
>> Going to hit me that hard.
>> [laughter]
>> More fun than a pillow fight. That was
the thing. It was more fun than a pillow
fight. Don't ruin your mother's pillows
because she worked hard for them.
What if I've cursed [music] myself to an
eternity of this?
>> [laughter]
>> Stop.
Stop.
I'm defenseless. Stop. Stop. I'm
defenseless.
Sam, I'm defenseless. Stop. [laughter]
Stop.
I'm uncomfortable.
Oh.
>> [laughter]
>> Wait, hold on. I have to
See, this is
This what you If you bought these for
your kids, you're asking for it.
They're just boxing gloves, but actually
more dangerous cuz your hand is like
completely straight in them.
>> [laughter]
>> Yeah, you can't like

Going to break my hand inside of this.
really it's kind of crazy.
>> I'm

He did rivalry.
My brand new camera is going to get hit,
I swear. It's going to happen.
No!
No.
>> All right, come on Ethan. Time for your
final surprise.
>> Final surprise.
>> Put on the helmet and pads.
>> My final
form.
Do I look like Clavicular?
>> [snorts]
>> Mhm?
Sock 'em Boppers, Sock 'em Boppers, more
fun than a pillow fight. I've been told
to go into the side yard for my final
treat.
>> [laughter]
>> This is sick.
Wait, it's like real. We have to go. We
have to go right now. We have to find a
big parking lot. Let's go. Let's go.
>> [music]
>> Hey.
