Trying Out Our Kayaks And Some Beautiful Scenery

Okay, everyone. Monkeyy's out there on her new kayak. Well, it's used, but it's her new kayak, if that makes sense. All right, I'm going get ready and get out in here myself. Wow. I'm definitely going to be getting another paddle cuz that one's black and it's hot. Hers is aluminum, so it'll stay cool. All right. Let's get in here. This life jacket sucks. It's not my It's not the one I'm used to in our boat. There we go. Come on. All right. Oh, this is hot. Come on. All right. Wish there was more shady spots. There we go. Yeah. I don't know if you guys can see that, but I mean, it's so low. It's like I don't know, maybe 3 ft. Let's see here. That's deeper than that. There's a fire truck. this water. It could take another year at least to get this back up to where it belongs. It's not a man-made lake. This is natural lake. That's why there's no dam. She said that one's not as stable as the one she rented, but she'll get used to it. This one's pretty pretty stable. Getting used to it. A little bit. Just don't get in a hurry and just cruise around. All right. Is it easier to paddle than that other one, though? Yeah. >> Yeah. Well, turn. >> So, as you might be able to see that, >> I like this. I like this one. had a uh I think it was a BKC in Ohio. I took in on trade on a truck. Man, it was it was nice. It's like Cadillac of these things and they're expensive to this day, but this I think it's not quite as stable, but it's every bit as easy to paddle. I didn't bring the motor or anything cuz I had to order a battery. I wasn't going to put that big heavy lead ass battery out of a boat in it. So, I ordered one weighs 22 lb. So, that's that's pretty where the other one weighs what almost 50 40ome. It's it's it's double. I know. give you some wake. Did I just hear her right? Never hit a wave on the side, >> right? >> You know, a guy with good arm strength this lifetime, he could probably really get this thing cruising. I mean, it's nice. I like this boat. Yeah, this is all right. We're not going out real far or anything. Like, I could never paddle across this. It's not that far, but for me paddling, I could never do it. Maybe it's a little bit wider, maybe like a fishing kayak because they're more stable. Got my paddle straight across. I probably should feather it. and get under this bridge and cool down a minute. Pop's probably getting hot. I forgot to bring my koozie. We bought two of them up there in Georgia. But when she gets better, she's afraid. Really afraid of alligators. But when she gets better, we'll take her. We'll take you down. We'll take you down the with Luchi down by where we go camping. Now, I think I mentioned it, but one of my videos where I was fishing, there's a turnoff to the right. As you're heading north um up river, there's a turnoff. You can't get either one of our other boats in there, but you can get kayaks and canoes in there. You get them in there and you go back there a little piece and it is uh there's a springs back there. It's called Gum Slooh and we've never been into it. Um we probably could have took our ginu in there. just never did or Ginu would have made it. But these will definitely make it. People k back kayak back in there a lot. Nice clear water. Crystal clear water. Oh yeah. Professional kayaker girl get this thing going. I mean it's not a race boat cuz they have the racing kayaks. They're real thin. Very unstable, but they're real thin. I had a couple of them and they will uh you can get them going pretty good. Get up here in the shade. We should take these down by the um where that little bridge is going towards the boat right there. >> Yeah, I can put this I can put in pretty much anywhere. Yeah, that's why we got because we haven't >> Well, we could go >> like she said, we haven't been able to boat there. I'm not saying we can't boat. We could go to Crystal River. We could go to, you know, up to Cedar Key, put in there. Um, but the reason why we can't do that is I don't trust the wheel bearing on the trailer on the boat trailer. It's making some noises. Last time I took apart and checked it, the race was bad. And usually when they get like that, you know, you don't want to take them on a 100 mile trip. But, you know, we can take it like to here just a couple miles, you know, or down to the river just a couple miles. But, you know, to take it 20 25 miles one way and then you got to come back, you know. No, I wouldn't uh I wouldn't trust it that far, but niece and nephew are coming down from Ohio in September. My nephew wants to go on boat. I might take it over to uh Rainbow River uh which is not real far. Or I might I might contr it that far. But uh this house is empty. Yeah. But um the ramps are still open there. I'd like to show them the Rainbow River. Yeah, this house is empty. I know you guys can't see it, but got a nice dock or deck there. And then you got dry dock here like a boat house. You pull up in, you put them straps, >> you put them straps under your boat and take your boat up out of the water. >> Yeah. >> See them? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That house is empty. Okay, guys. We're going to head back to the bridge. Cool down a little bit. Then these life vests aren't right. We got to get some good ones. They're not I mean they're not really kayaking vests. They're hot. We need one ones that are like a mesh and they fit you better. These are just I mean they're Coast Guard approved, but you know, it's not really meant for kayakers to be out in the heat for hours at a time. I mean, they would be okay if you uh if you was just uh like safer tubing or something where you're in pretty much in the water, but they're just not kayaking vests. I like our other vest better, the ones we got in our boat. They're still not regular paddling vests. Oh, there's some shade right here. And a bird found him. Found him a snack. But I don't have a seat bottom bottom part for my seat. So, the back's fine, but I don't have any padding. I got a seat at the house. I'm going to check and see if it'll fit in here. It's off of a motorized scooter. That'd be nice if it fit in here. So, all right, guys. I'll speed you up and we'll paddle over here to the uh to the boat ramp. Heat. Heat. Heat. Hi guys, we're back. There's a little beach here. Man, my pants are soaked, but I should have wore shorts. I'm going to get a pair of regular like biking shorts or, you know, something for a kayak. Um, they should put right here. They should put a slip in for kayaks. All right, guys. Wait, don't monkey. She's way out there. I'll bring you back in a minute. Think I'll get some keel protectors for these. Like they're also called known as slippers. Durable plastic you put on the bottom of your boat. Just keeps them from getting scratched up so bad. Cuz I beat these things. I don't care. Like this guy was he bought this brand new and he didn't want to drill any holes in it or nothing. Well, I'm going to be drilling holes. I'm going to be putting camera mounts and stuff like that on it. It's mine now. I'm going to make it mine. But so yeah, let's see how well she does beaching. And uh but I I think she's doing very well. She's doing a lot better than some people. Uh just getting on, you know, that's only the second time she's ever been on a yak. So, um proud of her. Proud of you, monkey. And um but shoot, uh yeah, I'm going to get a pop, too. One of my exes. I believe it was my very first wife, my oldest daughter's mom. Rest ass her soul, she's passed away now. But uh I had a kayak and I wanted to take her out and teach her how to use it. But before she did, I went and got one of those. Well, I got two of them. Those You guys remember those? Um you can still buy them. They're real soft plastic water jugs and they got like a little spot on them. Went to the grocery store, bought two of them and I put one up front and one in the back and you know that water when it goes like that. I told her get in that kayak and start going. She like, "Oh, it's unstable. Just keep going." After about 3 days, 2 to three hours a day, she was fine. She wasn't wobbling anymore or anything like that. And I said, "Okay, now you ready?" She said, "For what?" I took the water jugs off. I said, "Go." And she said, "Oh my god, this is so easy." So sometimes it's always sometimes it's better to learn the hard way before you learn the easy way cuz then the easy way is even that much easier. So yeah. So she was like, "Oh my god." And then plus it kind of simulated gear, you know, if we ever want to go somewhere, which we never got to, but you know, simulates gear up there kind of topheavy a little bit, you know, like I'm going to have a battery sitting back here, you know, but I mean I'm I'm used to that stuff. Um, and I'll probably I might do some camping with it, but definitely when I do some solos down on the river, I'm going to bring this with me. So, you know, I I do I've got to get a white light for the back and nav lights for the front. Uh I'm not going to wire them into the battery. I'm just going to get the battery operated ones and just stick them on there at night if I use it at night. Now, now hers, see, I don't like these kind of feet rests. I like hers. They're like a pedal and they're adjustable. They call these adjustable feet rest, but they're not. You don't adjust them. That's just where wherever you want to put your feet. But hers, I'll show you when she gets here. I'll show you her feet rest. Uh they're very nice. She's got a nice little nice little yak there for 175 bucks. All right, guys. I don't know if I can get a set of them, make them work in mine or not, but I do like her foot rest. I like the knee pads. Of course, mine didn't bother me, but you can buy this stuff and put on mine if I want. She said, "Oh," as soon as she backed out and as soon as I pushed launched her off, she said, "Oh my god, this is a lot more stable than mine." And hers, excuse me, even sit down in lower. It's not technically a sitting kayak. They still consider it sit on top, but that's a true sit on top one. Mine there. And she took off. I said, "It even takes off easier." She's like, "Oh, yeah. Yeah." Mine cuts right through. Look at her go. She's booking. You're booking, mama. Yeah, she likes that one. She said, and she says these are the steer goes more stable or more straight. We stayed in the guy's garage talking and we had the door open, you know, but we had this open so it started pouring. So, I went out to shut this and when I was heading back to the garage about from here to that pole, wasn't it? >> Yeah. >> A big lightning struck strike. Well, when I closed this, I felt the hair on my arm start standing up. >> Yeah. >> Again. And lightning struck about struck a tree about from here to that pole. When I turned around, there was branches and leaves and his daughter saw it. >> Yeah. She could she was like, "Holy crap." Screamed and went in the garage more. >> So, I almost got struck by lightning for the second time. So, it's either storm or lightning. Leave your comments below.
