Hey everyone, Sam here and today I'm going to show you how to make this wonderful Christmas card using the supplies from my made to make kit number three. However, to make the card itself, you don't need any dyes and you can decorate and use whatever you have in your stash. But if you are a subscriber to my kit, then I hope you enjoy this version. You can make it in any size you want as well. It's really easy to to reduce it or make it bigger. It's up to you. And it will work really nicely for other themes as well. You can see the shape of it there. You got all your space on the back. It all folds flat and it will just pop up out of the envelope for the person to display. So, let's get started and I'll show you how to make it. So, this is my made to make. This is makaker's edition number three. So, everything you see here is from the kit and you can create a very cute little card and this is the background I'm using today. So, I've gone for the Christmas background. We're going to do a Christmas card. Depending on what time you're watching this video, if you're a subscriber, then you're getting this early with as that issue is sent to you. But then the videos do go out onto YouTube a few months later. So, if you're on YouTube watching now, hello. You can obviously decorate this however you want. You don't need snowfall acetate. You don't even need to use a full sheet of acetate. There's a few ways to change it up. So, two pieces of 8x6. And then you want two pieces of 3x6. And these are going to be for it to pop up on the sides. And you want to score along the 3-in side at half an inch, 1 and 1/2, and 2 and 1/2. And you want to fold and burnish so you have that effect. mountain, valley, and a mountain. Then, if you want the acetate, you don't have to do it as a full piece. You need this length. So, you need it to be 9 in, but the height of it doesn't have to cover the whole piece. I thought the snowfall would work perfect for this Christmas card. You might just want to have a little strip of acetate at the bottom to build up your scene. So, it's entirely up to you. Or it could be card stock as well if you want to do that because I'm probably going to revisit this. So, if it's now, if you're now watching this on YouTube, I may well have other sizes and that'll be added into a playlist. So along that 9 in side, you want to score at half an inch and at 8 and 1/2. Okay? And then just fold and burnish. So what we're going to do first of all is we're going to stick this onto here. Now I've cut this down. I wanted a nice big thick white border just so it really pops. So this is a piece of 5 1/2 by 7 and 1/2. And I'm going to use my construction glue. Now, as that's drying, I just want to add a bit of a curve into this. But you want to curve it up just like this. I'm just going to kind of hold it in that shape because we're going to glue just this kind of the brow of this curve into the middle of here. Just a little strip. And then the rest is going to be pushed up with these springs either side. So, as the glue is drying, just kind of keep it in that position. Okay. Once you're happy it's got a nice curve in it. Just leave that to one side. You want to have it facing out this way. You want your two mountain folds on the outside. Take my construction glue. And you just want to stick it onto the edge of this piece here so it's flush with the side there. Okay. And again for this one, this is a 300 gsm heavyweight card stock, but you could go for a lighter weight, especially with that piece that's 300 gsm, but you could do a lighter weight because you're adding mats and layers to it. Just squash that down. Make sure it all folds down into that 6 by8 size. I'm just going to burnish that middle one, but I'm not going to burnish the outer one just so it does have that little bit of spring in it. Then this one, I'm going to run my tape on the So the tabs are folded over. I'm going to stick the tape on the inside of these two tabs. And now this one we're going to clip around here. So whether you've got a thin little strip of card stock, you might have a kind of rolling hills, you might have grass trim, doesn't have to be this [clears throat] acetate. It doesn't have to be obviously as big as me as I've done it, but you just want to I'm going to turn that over. I'm just going to sit this right up to the fold there. Make sure it's nice and even with the top and bottom. And just stick that down. And then again, you just lay it flat in that acetate. Just fold that over like so. Give it a good burnish and just make sure that it's still got that curve to it. Okay. already. I mean, you've got a fun card style that way, but I really want it to pop up and guarantee it's going to stay in that shape. So, what we can do now is we're going to run glue along here and here, just on those half2in tabs. And then I will need to run a bead of glue down here as well. But just a bead of glue. You just want that to just stick with the glue. And then the rest of this is going to come up. I might decorate the sides as well with some nice paper. But can you see the cool effect we're going to have? I would imagine that's going to be stuck. So, I [snorts] think I'm going to run a bead of quick grab glue down the middle. Okay. But just a thin line of it. You don't want too much of that to stick down. We don't want to create any creases or bends in it. And then I'm just going to carry on with the construction glue either side. And then just start on one side. Probably take a little bit longer to dry because of the acetate. I might have to end up putting tape on the ends here. I've just realized because there's acetate underneath, but it will eventually grab it. It just take a little bit longer to dry. Stick that one down. And again, that side. Make sure that it's all lined up. And that middle sticks down as well. Okay. So, everything is now stuck down. I've decorated the sides. And you can see how it will pop up. So, that's it in the envelope. And then that acetate will just come out. How cool. You've got all your space on the back to write your message. So, you could add other little pop-ups here. I might. I was thinking about having that on the front. How cute. Oh my god, it's adorable. But now I'm thinking about having it on another little spring. Maybe inside there, but then I do kind of like it on the front. Oh, it's upside down. I thought it looked a little bit odd. There we go. That's better. So, I don't know. Do I add another little spring in there? That does look cute, actually, doesn't it? Maybe we do that. And then I can have a few of these bits on the front. I think we'll do that. So, to make a spring. Okay. I've just done a little test. So, this is my spring. So, this is a piece of half an inch. You can make yours wide if you want, but I only want to do the half an inch so it sits behind this. So half an inch by four. And you're going to score at half an inch, one and a half, and then 2 and 1/2, three, and three and a half. You want to create a mountain, valley, mountain, then mountain, valley, mountain. So, can you see we've got like a little spring. Don't burnish this. if you want it to stay springy like that. So, I'm just going to add glue to the whole 1 in section. And this is what I'm going to stick behind my for me the little cart, but it be whatever it is that you've got. Bring it down a little bit. So, it's definitely kind of hidden. Okay. And can you see how they just kind of pop up? You can use acetate for this as well, but as long as you don't burnish the card stock, it would be fine. And again, this is a heavy weight. Then you're going to add your glue to the two little half inch tabs there. And then you can stick it inside the card. So I want the wheels to be in line with the floor. And then just kind of push that down. Ah, perfect. You could just put some foam on there. You could use a wobbler if you wanted to, but the little springs are quite nice. And that's just lifted that up perfectly. So, all the decoration I'm doing now, you might want to do, you know, before you add all of this on, but that looks really, really cool. Now, I'll be able to disguise the spring a bit more as well with all the little bits that I'm going to now decorate. So, some of the sweets I'm going to have I think I'll have both of those maybe on here, but I want to have a big sentiment. My big Merry Christmas I think I'm going to use there. But all of the little bits here, these are all in proportion to go on your cart. So, you can see I have the champagne glasses. We've got the chocolate fountain there with the little bits. Got some popcorn. I've also got the wreath there as well. I've cut um it comes with a gingerbread attached, but I've cut him off. And I'm just going to have this kind of going through like if I do it that way actually. So, it goes some of it goes behind like so. And then I can have it hanging off the side. Something like that. Anyway, you'll see it when I've done it. And then I just thought like the popcorn and things like that I might just have on the floor around it. The little gingerbread as well. It can kind of be I don't know. We'll have some fun with it. But yeah, I'm going to get my big words out as well and then I'll show you it when it's all done. There is the finished card. It's adorable. This has come together so well. I will definitely be making more.
