Video summary
The episode of the Y Podcast hosted by Eleiza Kimani begins with a warm introduction, welcoming listeners to discuss the trending topics of September 17th, 2026. Joining her is co-host Phoebe, who shares that she is having a wonderful morning and looks forward to the day's discussions. The hosts encourage their audience to engage on social media platforms under the handle Y254, inviting questions, comments, and birthday wishes, noting that they will even be singing a birthday song for someone special. This segment sets a friendly and interactive tone for the show, emphasizing community engagement across Facebook, X, and Instagram.
The first major story discussed involves Linda Kibati, who publicly called out family members for denying her the right to view her father's body before his burial. The hosts express strong disapproval of this action, highlighting that no matter a person's past mistakes or conflicts with their relatives, they should never be barred from seeing or burying their own parent. They commend Linda for speaking her truth and using her platform to address such unfair treatment, while also acknowledging that the full context of the family dispute is not yet known. The conversation underscores the importance of respecting elders without crossing the line into denying fundamental rights like viewing a deceased loved one.
Following this, the podcast shifts to a deeply emotional story about a mother in Juba who gave birth to five children but tragically lost four of them at the hospital. The hosts express deep sorrow and offer prayers for her strength, recognizing the immense pain of experiencing such a devastating loss after the joy of childbirth. They use this tragedy to remind listeners that not everyone faces the same circumstances and encourage hope rather than discouragement regarding having children. The discussion also touches on the concept of "black tax" and sibling rivalry, referencing a separate story where a man eventually made peace with his mother after years of conflict.
The hosts conclude by reflecting on the complexities of family relationships, noting that parents can sometimes take the wrong side or that children may be unfairly judged, making it difficult to assign blame without hearing both perspectives. They advise listeners to prioritize reconciliation whenever possible, reminding everyone that parents are the only ones they will ever have in this life. A key spiritual lesson is shared: one must honor their parents as God expects, even if disagreeing on specific issues, because disrespecting one's first teachers can hinder one's ability to love and respect God. The episode ends with a brief break, inviting the audience to share what they are doing for breakfast and how their mornings are going before returning for more content.

AND AS ALWAYS I never sit alone. Yes,
I'm here with Phoebe, a media
practitioner.
Yes. So I want to give her a chance to
say hello to us and tell me her morning
is going
and how she
expects the day and the show to go. Good
morning, Phoebe.
>> Good morning. How are you?
>> Very fine.
>> I'm very good myself. Thank you so much
for having me. It's such an honor to be
here.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah, so hi everyone. My name is Phoebe
or you can call me Fibs. You can find me
on all social media platforms at Fibs.
So my day is going on well. Um but I
don't know what to expect but so far
it's good. I'm loving it.
>> All right.
>> Yeah.
>> Amazing. [clears throat]
So yes, let's enjoy the show together.
Amazing. We are going to start with a
story that I see here about Linda Kibati
and we had seen about what she was
saying. I
I call out family members okay after the
dad passed and I can say that those guys
they were not even showing up and then
um they were never there at all at all
at all and so she was really looking for
a chance to call
Kemia and to call them out and and so
she did that and now she's saying that
um
what happened is she was denied the
chance to go view her dad's body. Like
that's crazy and
um you know
it's it's just weird. This is your
father that you're going to bury and
these people do not want you anywhere
close to the plans or anything about it.
So I don't know what you think about
this situation.
>> wonder why they denied her that chance.
But for her to do that um you ate you
you definitely ate. Calling them out for
whatever that they did that was not
good. No matter what she might have done
and also I could say
be given the chance to view the body. I
like I just don't get it but the way she
called them out that was super super
good. I love seeing that.
>> Especially also because
um it's high time that we face the
reality. You know there's that
perspective of oh respect your elders.
It's all right you're going to respect
the elders but at what point at what
cost are we going to take this because
now as you see
no matter what you don't deny someone a
chance to bury their own father because
um
you bury your parent once. Like I could
have watched in a second chance to do
that
and no matter what she has done and no
matter what is really going on I don't
feel like this is the best approach to
it but again we do not have the full
story. Maybe the family members are
going to come out and speak about it or
however it goes but as it stands right
now that was not good at all and
we are glad that she spoke out about
that and
>> She spoke her mind. Yeah.
Yeah, exactly. And another story here,
it's it's a sad story and
it's very sad.
So, prepare yourself. Okay? Yeah, so
it's about a Juba mother who gave birth
to five babies, but unfortunately she
lost four of them and
like she four four of the kids just died
at the hospital. And so, you can imagine
the anguish and the pain of being able
to give birth to five babies only to
lose
four of them.
So, it is a joy that comes and then
suddenly there's all this sadness and
pain. So,
it's very sad
and it's
my
condolences to you and may the Lord
strengthen you. I think that's the only
thing we can offer right now. Just
prayers for her because you know, unless
you've really gone through something you
you can't understand. You can't
understand. It's so so painful.
Literally to me in the morning on the
internet this week, it's that story.
Like it's so so painful.
I think I got a four baby girls and one
boy. I
think four baby girls died and then the
only one child I think I had a baby I
got a baby girl. Oh my god, it was like
it's so sad. Like I just hope that the
the Lord will give the family strength
because it's not like an easy situation
around here. Yeah. Yeah, so condolences.
Yeah, we are so sorry. Yeah. And yeah,
so just be hopeful. You know, that
scares some people at times. When you
see such kind of a scenario and you're
like,
"Me me, I don't want to get kids or
anything." No, but like don't don't
don't think about that. Just
Yeah, don't be discouraged. Just keep
hoping and keep believing and keep
trusting in God. Your story doesn't have
to be like her story. Yeah. Even yours
might be successful. You never know.
>> Yeah. So, because I I'm very sure if
there was something that would have been
done, definitely they would have done
it. But, um I'm I'm Whatever happened,
let's say
it was God's will, and we Yeah.
>> Everything happens for a reason.
>> True. Everything happens for a reason.
>> We can't We can't judge.
>> Yeah, true. And another story that we
have here is
the
the mom was complaining.
There was a lot of discussions in
regards to his story. But, right now, as
of the latest updates, we see that
um he makes up he makes peace with his
mother, and they said that they've
forgiven each other, and he's going to
visit her.
Yes. So, that is what has um
That is the latest news or latest update
in regards to this story. And it made us
talk about uh black tax. Where mzee
anakujanga kuambia lazima ufunge hivi
siblings wako nilikusomesha somesha
brother yako na sister yako. And that is
something that affects very many young
people, and they do not even know how to
go about it. But now, um
you realize that
at times wazazi wanakuanga on the wrong
side. At times, watoto wanakuanga on the
wrong side. And like the previous story
we were saying, unless you really get
the perspectives from both sides, it's
very difficult for you to actually put a
finger at
anything. So,
uh we are glad that this relationship is
being restored. We are glad that they
are making up. And yeah, cuz at the end
of the day,
>> I mean, he put his ego away, and
akakubali the whole situation to just
make peace with the mother. So,
uh whatever he did, that was so nice of
him. Yeah, too near
so that is so good of him.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, I wish them all the best.
>> Yeah, too. And yeah, to people who are
out there and you have you're still for
you're not okay with your parents. The
earlier you know that your mom and your
dad are the only mom and dad you'll ever
you'll ever have in this world, the
better for you. Like
>> So you whatever the situation, if it's
not that bad, you can go and make peace.
But if it's that bad, just don't don't
even don't even think about it.
>> Yeah, true.
>> But don't disrespect them.
Yeah.
>> I love reminding us that respect your
parents, but honor your parents in the
Lord.
Honor them as God would expect you to
honor them. That means if your mom tells
you to do something and you know it's
wrong, do not do it. But also do not
disrespect them because they are your
first God. And if you can't respect them
and you can't see them, there's no way
you're going to love and respect God.
Yeah, it doesn't make sense and it
doesn't work like that. So as that is it
from the trending topics and
to remind you we are on all social media
platforms at Y254
channel. Kimbe up on the Facebook, X,
Instagram.
Talk to us. We would like to know where
are you tuned in from? How's the morning
going? What are you having for
breakfast? Yes, I see in the morning
sun. I know some of you are just
preparing your breakfast so we would
like to know what you are doing and how
your morning is going. We're going to
take a very short break, very brief
break. back so
>> break. Very brief break. Yeah, after how
to notice to me and I and we're going to
be back. So, stay tuned.
