So, my original plan for reviewing
Transformers Age of the Prime's Joyide
was just to do a quick looks video
comparing him to Age of the Primes Shot.
Joyide here is just a repaint of shot
with a brand new head and brand new
partner. Shot being a target master,
Joyide being a Powermaster. But a
subscriber named Shawn reached out to me
saying that he 3D printed some brand new
accessories for Joyide, including his
missing gun that a lot of people
complain about. He does not come with a
gun. So, there is a brand new gun for
Joyide, and he made him a brand new
Powermaster partner that's very similar
to the original generation one version
because it looks like this guy here is
just a block where this guy is very
faithful to the G1. So, instead of a
quick looks video, we're going to do
well, I guess, a quick looks comparison
and take a look at these awesome 3D
printed accessories. So anyway, let's
take a quick look at the packaging here.
There's Joy Ride behind the plastic
window right there with his Powermaster
partner, Hotwire. Great looking artwork
of Joyide in robot mode and vehicle
mode. Transformers age of the prize.
This side of the box is a upclose shot
of the robot mode face. Same arrow on
the front. Back of the packaging is
product shots showing Joyide in robot
mode. vehicle mode, the Powermaster,
gimmick, partner, hot wire, and this
side of the box is the statues of the 13
Prime that we've been seeing since day
one. So now, without further ado, let's
get Joyide opened up out of his
packaging, compare him to Shot, and give
him his brand new accessories. Don't

Now, once you get Joy Ride all opened up
and out of the packaging, you'll see he
does come with a sheet of instructions
that, as usual, is very well illustrated
and easy to follow. He also comes with
two of these spoilers, a left and a
right. And then we've got his
Powermaster partner, Hotwire. [snorts]
And then of course we've got Joyide
himself. Let's go ahead and bring in
Sure Shot. So you can look at both of
these guys together. I love the collar
scheme on Joyide. He absolutely pops.
Now disclaimer, my shot has been toy
hacked up. So he does look a little bit
different than how you would get him
straight out of the packaging. Bring
them in for a closer look. Other than
the paint scheme, I believe the only big
difference is of course the head
sculpts. So there is Shersshot and there
is Joyide and I think that looks great.
Very faithful to the original generation
one toy. Also that color scheme is
spot-on as well. This is where we're
going to bring in the spoilers. Now for
sureot. Move him out of the way. Sure
shot had the spoilers that you could
attach to his shoulders. And I
absolutely hated these things. They
popped off all the time and I ended up
super gluing them on. So for sure shot
or excuse me Joyide what we're going to
do is put the spoilers on his legs so it
[music] mimics the G1. So let's see.
We're going to look right there. There
is a port and I've got the wrong one. So
let's see. We'll just peg him in right
there just below the knee.
And this will complete his look
in robot mode. Get that to peg in. There
we go. So, yeah, that's very faithful to
the generation one toy. And I dig it.
What I don't dig is the fact that he
doesn't have his blaster. There is the
G1 blaster. Emporal Joyide Age of the
Primes. He doesn't. He does have his
partner Hotwire who in the instructions
you transform him. Well, let's look at
him real quick. Uh, that's pretty much
it. He's kind of a gunmetal gray and
white. He's got a yellow visor. And
let's see. You transforming transform
him by folding him in half. There's a
little peg right there. It's going to
slot in here. [music] Peg that in. So,
that's supposed to be the engine, but
it's shown the instructions that he
could wield him like so as a [music]
blaster.
And I'm sorry, that does not look good
at all. This is where Shawn's new gun
comes into play. Go ahead and peg that
in his hand. And my gosh, that looks so
much better. And he's got that gun dead
on to how the G1 gun looks. Very, very
bright. I do see it's got some filament
on it that I need to clean up a little
bit. You can kind of see them little
hairs, quote hairs, not hanging off
right there. Does he got the detail
right there as well? Yeah, he's spot on
with the detail on that gun. So, that
looks great. So much better. And I guess
if you wanted you could peg I don't
know. I [music] guess you can hold him
in his other hand like a shield or
something. But yeah, the gun looks so
much better now. And Sean, great job on
that. So now let's take a look at Joyide
in his vehicle mode. Okay, in vehicle
mode once again. Joyide looks fantastic
and actually really close to how the
generation one figure looks. I I love
the color scheme. I love the detailing.
I think they did a great job. Let's go
ahead and bring in a sure shot once
again so you can look at the two
together. Now, originally I thought uh
the head sculpt was the only thing that
was different, but it looks like the
rims are different, too. So, you got a
different head sculpt and a different
set of rims. All right, now let's take a
look at Hotwire once again for Age of
the Primes Joy Ride. You plug him in
right here at the top and there's the
engine. A hell of an engine that I'm
sure you couldn't see around. Now, let's
bring in Shawn's uh upgraded version,
which is this guy right here, who is
very, very faithful to how the original
generation one figure looked. Let me pop
him out.
So, here's Hot Wire G1.
It's getting transformed.
All right. So, Sean did a great job with
that. I even hand painted him. You can
see the painted in visor right there.
The blue and the gray. About the only
difference is on the back or the
original Hotwire has chrome. The uh or
Sean's version has gold. So, let's get
him transformed. He transforms exactly
like the original G1. So, bring the legs
up and around. And he's designed him so
he's got a little peg right there. Let's
remove hot wire
and get him plugged in here.
And yeah, that looks so much better.
It's still a big old engine. You're
going to have a hard time looking above,
but it looks so much better than just
that big old block. So yeah, Sean, that
is fantastic. Now, not only does Shawn
make the Powermaster for Joyide, but
he's also made them for the G1 figure as
well. So, if you're missing a Hotwire
for your G1 lube, here's that version.
He doesn't have the peg on his chest or
the peg right there on his waist that
plugs into uh Joyide there. So, let's
see if he fits in the G1. And if you
know how the G1 Power Masters work, you
put in the engine, which depresses that
little button right there that unlocks
the locking mechanism. So, let's see
if you'll peg in and release that little
thing.
Get him in there all the way.
Powermaster is always kind of tricky to
get in.
Okay, so there he is. He is inside G1
Joyide. Did it unlock?
I am not I'm not 100 100% sure if it's
pressing down on that button or not.
Let me see.
I don't I don't think there's a peg
sticking down far enough to hit this
button because once that hits, this
should just unlock just like so. Let me
try it again.
So, get him in here. Actually, let me
look at the original.
Get him transformed real quick.
Okay, there's there's the issue right
there. He's got an angle for the crotch
here where the G1 is just straight
across. So, it's not hitting the button
right there. So, Sean, if you watch
this, you may want to tweak your design
just a little bit so it will hit the
button on the G1s in order for them to
transform. But still, man, that's that's
awesome work. Oh, that's the uh Okay, so
there's the G1.
I mean, this is fantastic.
Yeah, great job. Now, he also made a
lube. So, if you have Slap Dash, there's
you a lube you could use. Let's see. The
crotch is angled on him as well. So,
there's G1 lube. So, we can look at
those two together. So, yeah, great job.
Uh, I'm always so impressed with uh what
people can do with the 3D printing now.
So, let's see. We've got uh Joyide's
blaster. Where can this go? Guess we can
plug it here on the side. Maybe it's
going to have to angle up a little bit.
And Hot Wire, where can you go on the
side as well? So, yeah, he still rolls.
And he is loaded for battle. So, there
you go, guys. There is the new Age of
the Primes Joyide with Shaun's 3D
printed upgrades.
Age of the Primes Joyide really
surprised me. For a repaint, he's much
more than meets the eye. He's got a
brand new head sculpt. He's got brand
new rims. And I think they actually
thickened up the pegs on the spoilers
because they didn't pop off as much
while transforming them like shot did
because man those pissed me off and
that's why they're glued on. Hasbro
really nailed the G1 look with [music]
Joyide. Now Shawn's upgrades are
amazing. I absolutely love the gun and
his hot wire is so much better than the
one that Joyide came packaged with.
