Um, listen, you can look at it and say
we could have won it and we probably
should have won it with the chances we
had, but I'll be honest, I I had fear
that it was going to be one of those,
you know, they hadn't scored a goal and
all of that. But uh when you look back
at the opportunities and I've seen them
again since the game finished, Evan
missed big opportunities to take three
points in London today and you know
there's half points taking Evan in
seventh position at the moment and it's
not a bad start at all and especially if
we can beat Ipsswitch next week then
it'll be a good solid start. David Moyes
there was obviously a decision to make.
No Men role he's picked up a slight
injury apparently. We will see how long
that means he's out for. But um he was
missing which meant Angley Maitlin Niles
made his full Everton debut coming in at
right back. We had Tyreek George on one
side, Brennan Johnson on the other. Um
and Everton Everton I've got to say were
absolutely woeful for the opening 15
minutes. Tottenham come flying out the
blocks and we just helped them. We are
we seem to be uh you know trying to do
be like the architects of our own
downfall really. We were too slow when
we got the ball back. We kept giving it
back to them and it really was you know
they missed a couple of half opportun
not real you know clearcut chances
certainly not the way Editton did but
they missed a couple of half
opportunities that they didn't take.
Fernandez being one when he should have
hit it first time, took a touch, allowed
Jaraban to get a blocking. Van Heck put
one over the bar off an Andrew Robertson
free kick,
but they didn't really create any
clear-cut opportunities. Everton did
after the opening 15 minutes kind of
grow into the game and started putting
our foot on it, started dominating it a
little bit and that was reflected in you
know the possession stats at times
Everton you know five minutes the last
five minutes possession and all that
quite often was in the high 70s for
Everton it did flip back to Spurs as
well of course overall but we did get it
we did get a foot a foothold on the game
we didn't really have any clear
opportunity unities though in the first
half everything you know Tyrie George
lots of lots of nice like sort of
buildup play but no end product really
Ken and Jbury all worked out but
couldn't really unlock anything tier
Barry ran around pressed tried to to
bring other players into the game but it
there was just nothing really that made
you know made me feel that we could get
a goal in that first half we were too I
don't want to say too safe but I think
we had to I think the manager was don't
give anything away which is ironic
because the opening 15 was absolutely
dire like I said but got in half nil nil
um you know and it was a case of okay
can we come out then in the second half
are we going to create something you
know that one opportunity that puts them
under pressure getting through I think
getting through that opening 20 minutes
was key and their fans were quite
clearly edgy
and um you know that meant that there
was always the opportunity on the break
for for us. But we did have some big big
opportunities in that second half. We
had a great run by Tyreek George and
stood it up and Ti Barry to be fair to
him does everything right. Heads it at
the goal and Kinsky gets unbelievably
lucky. The ball hits him on the forehead
and goes out for a corner where you know
a little bit higher or or low it's in
and and we'd scored. So we got massively
fortunate with that one.
Then we had a two or three big
opportunities after it. One where
Everton press kinsky, you know, du bol
and ti barry do really well. The ball
goes to jol. He cuts the pass out rather
and he's got a he can lay it square and
barry have a tap in. Well, not a tap in,
but he'd have a shot at an open goal. He
went himself, which is fine. He's got
it, but he's got to lift the ball and he
hits it straight against Kinsky's knee.
Um, and then the one that I think was
probably the best overall, it's a
brilliant ever move. Um, we get Dbury
all in in that left hand channel inside
the box and he cuts it back to the edge
of the box for Brennan Johnson or the
penalty spot. Brennan Johnson's got the
whole goal to Ama and he just opens his
foot but opens his foot too wide and
steers the ball wider of the goal and
had he took a touch and got a shot away
he'd have probably scored forever. And
we had another one where Jesus Hall
whips it just over, took a deflection
and went over Tottenham for them. The
only real moment where it looked as
though they'd score was Jordan Pikford
giving the ball away, but it kicking was
awful. It started really poor Jordan
[clears throat] and it didn't get any
better all night. Um, but luckily for
us, he was on form in terms of keeping
the ball out the net and it was a strike
from the edge of the box. I think it
might have been Fernandez and Pigford
got down and and tipped it around the
post. But Tottenham huffed and puffed.
They they just thought they look all
over the place at the minute. Um for us,
that's why I think people will be more
disappointed with with watching the game
overall thinking this was an
opportunity. I think David Moyes, I've
not heard what he said in the game, but
I imagine he'll be frustrated that we
haven't taken all the points given the
opportunities that we've had. But
listen, it's it's
what four games unbeaten in the Premier
League and obviously through into the
next round of the club. We've got six
points. We're in seventh place at the
minute. Half points so far. If we can
beat it, switch at home next week, which
will be a tough one, but they've started
brilliantly. They've had another big
result today, albeit against um 10 men,
but we'll have an opportunity there. We
beat them and go into the international
break with nine out the opening 15.
That's a that's a good solid start I
think. And obviously we've got Wolves at
home in the cup as well on Wednesday
which is an opportunity to get into the
next round. But it's not a bad point.
It's just frustrating because we don't
really win there. They were there for
the taking and as well as that we've
missed some big opportunities. Um we've
had more shots on target than Tottenham,
higher xG than Tottenham. Um the chances
were there. Not not saying Everton were
overall a better team. I just mean when
them chances came our way, we had big
opportunities to take all three points.
But listen, it's a decent point and we
we move on from there and um you know,
it's about building, isn't it? We get
into the the international break. Like I
said, we can beat tips and we get him in
nine points. It gives the opportunity
for the likes of Christian Norard to get
himself fit and ready when we come back.
Hopefully Merlin roll don't like I said
don't know what sort of his injury
length is yet he might be back for Ipsit
he might not but then it gives that
break and a chance to get him back for
when we go to hull which will be another
tough game as well so big week coming up
two home games if Everton can win both
of them then I think we'll be in a
decent place going into that
international break man of the match
today is
I know the TV have given it to Michenko
who when you look at his numbers done
really well. I think James Garner was
decent in the game as well. I think he
he he was busy and put done a lot of the
defensive work as well. So it's really
between them two. Um
I'm going to give it and I thought
Brandweight was actually really good as
well. Thought Brande played really well.

give it to Brandweight.
Yeah, I I I haven't seen Brandeight's
numbers and he might be nowhere near as
good as what Micheleno or Ghana were,
but I think he was important. Just the
calmness, the way he defended and put a
couple of good last ditch tackles in as
well. I just think we're a better team
when he's in the team. So, Jared
Branweight is possibly controversially
my man of the match tonight, but good
points and and we go on. Um, but even me
saying a good point frustrates me a
little bit because I do think we've
missed an opportunity. But listen, it is
