Top 10 Air Jordan Models (My Favorites Right Now)

There are 41 different Jordans out in circulation, but I feel like everybody's main note is the ones through the 23s. And I've always had my top three, my top five, my top 10. And when I first started collecting sneakers, there weren't even 23 models in existence yet. So over the years, I've slowly curated different favorites and had different moments and times. And I feel like, you know what, this time, let's sit down and talk about right now. How do I feel? And what are my top 10 favorite Jordans from 1 through 23? Coming in at 10th place, we have the Air Jordan 23. Now, I had a big debate about some honorable mentions, which I will cover at the end of the video because I want to show you guys which ones I pick in order from, I guess, worst to best at the end, but I feel like it was a mandatory to put the 23 on here. Very slept on shoe. I've always appreciated the 23. I had every single colorway of the 23 of the original colorways that had came out, even the low tops. And I've always had this pair in particular since the original drop. Been wearing them. They're comfortable. I love them. Again, not everybody's cup of tea. I understand. But for me, the Jordan 23 is a very special model. It's unique. A lot of great details. And especially when the College PE started coming out a couple years ago, I was excited about that because they're not only affordable. There's some great colorways with that as well. And it's a big variety of different options when it comes to that series. Now, originally, if you would have asked me this question back in the day when I was a kid, obviously no, I wouldn't have been able to put this on the list cuz they didn't even make the shoe. But over the years, I feel like this shoe has always just slowly lingered and stayed around in my collection. And it's always fun pulling these out and every now and then I'm rocking them and turning a couple heads. Oh yeah, and if you didn't know by now, my name is DJ and this is the DNA show. Next up is another big head turner, which I think a lot of people are going to be frustrated it's at this position on my list. But coming in at number nine, which I the reason why I put it at number nine because that's one of my favorite numbers, but again, we'll talk about that later. Either way, at ninth place, we have the Air Jordan 17. Now, as you guys know, the Air Jordan 17 has been on a little tear lately with the amazing colorways with the low tops and the high tops dropping. We got some more stuff coming. And again, the Dorreer 17, I think, is one of the greatest shoes of this year. for sure in my top three or top five or potentially first place as sneaker of the year when it comes to the end of this year, which we'll talk about in a little bit. Been one of those ones that I've always loved. I've coveted it. I've had pairs. I got the original colorways from back in the day. I got the CDP 17s when those came out and then obviously all these new pairs. I got my BBY7s. You name it, I can go down the list as well. I love the Jordan 17s. But the reason why I chose to put this a little bit lower is because I feel like the wearability and the actual frequency of me wearing the shoe is a little bit lower on the list compared to other pairs that I have on this list. And initially I kind of wanted to slide these around sixth or fifth place somewhere around there. But I was like, you know what? I don't know if a a longer connection a deeper memory story line whatever you want to call it than this pair because again these came out I don't know if you want to call it later in life in my childhood but you get what I'm saying. Now, speaking of that same type of era, that middle school going to high school time, this shoe right here, oh my gosh, I will never forget when I got to high school and I wanted every single color and I got every single color of this shoe. It was amazing sneaker and I'm glad to still have some of them left to this day because my foot has grown and everything. But the Air Jordan 20 is my next up on the list. For some reason, not everybody likes this. I get it. But for some reason, I just always loved how they had the strap at the top, the strap on the front end, the simplicity, uniqueness, the it just it stood out to me so much and was very comfortable and vividly remember when the CDP20s came out. I was rocking those all the time back in high school. So, for me, I want to campaign for the Jordan 20s to come back and come back correctly. And even I mean, they're giving us all these retros of the 17s and the 16s and stuff. So, I'm like, let's get the East Coast, the West Coast, let's get all them other 20s back in the rotation again because those were some great colorways for their time. And I think still some good ones for this day. Obviously, the lasering and all that stuff being incorporated on the sneakers as well from during that era. There's just so many things to talk about about the shoe. And I feel like for me, I wore the 20s more than I wore the 17s as a whole. That's why I decided to put these at number eight on the list over the 17s. Next up on the list I felt like was a mandatory and I had a tough time because I was debating if this was going to be in my top five as well. And there was just so many reasons why I originally I made this as a top five video and that's why I had to expand it to a top 10 video because bro, honestly, it was hard to rank this. Like, I bet you if I came back and made this video another day, I would have a whole different ranking. There'll probably be some other shoes on this list over these ones. We'll talk about the honorable mentions in a little bit, but either way, coming in at seventh place, we have the Air Jordan 12. If you know, you know. Now, we're going to talk about comfort. We're going to talk about all those things. This shoe right here, not the new era, but if anybody knows, you remember the OG Jordan 12s, bro. The leather, the comfort, amazing. Absolutely amazing. They used to feel so good. Now, the reason why I say that now in current time, they don't hit like they used to. So, it's a mixed batch because I have so many memories growing up from a little kid to having my kids pairs to adults pairs when I got to middle school and high school and growing into the men's sizing and and all the different things in between getting all the OG colorways back in the day and then repeating it and getting all the OG colorways in the retro versions. Now, in current time, the new buck 12's unit. I can go down the list of so many different 12elves. The PE 12s that I've had in my collections, the one that I still have in my collection, the Ray Allen Jordan 12 that started the pees for me. That was my first ever PE, the Supersonics's Ray Allen Air Jordan 12. We're talking early 2000s vibe. I've been doing pees for a while now. But either way, I have so many ties to this model and it's hard not to put these on my top 10 list. I didn't know where exactly they were going to fall, but I again have so many justifications as to why they have to be on the list. Speaking of that, what are some must-have shoes on your list? At least give me three down below in the comment section. Now, this next one, this one's probably going to hurt a lot of people's feelings. It's kind of crazy because I I had it in a different spot. It was in fifth place, but then I moved it to sixth because I started to think about it, which honestly I should probably put it back at fifth, but we're already here now. It's we're going to just keep it at sixth place. And that is the Air Jordan 4. Now, as you guys know, this is one of the hot models, some people's favorite model of all time, the one that's still trending. We see the prices are down on some pairs, but at the end of the day, a lot of great collaborations. Probably one of the greatest collaborated Jordan models of all time, samples, pees, you name it. Some of the most legendary, iconic, valuable, checks all those boxes. Yes, this is that shoe. Now, for me, the Jordan 4 has been uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I love rocking my Jordan 4s. I have all the essentials in my rotation. they stay strapped and ready to go. I get that. But the reason why I chose the fifth place shoe over this one was because that shoe from a little kid to current time still has elements that just amaze me and I love looking at every time I open the box or look in the containers and I pull out the shoe and I'm just checking it out. So, I feel like I tied in the childhood memories and the things that actually got me into the game and those nostalgic moments as well for me as growing up as a kid and seeing my parents rocking the shoe and me having a matching pair as a little kid and everything. So, the Jordan 4 was a great one, but technically this came before my time because I was born in '91. So, I didn't really get a pair of Jordan 4s until I got older because remember that they didn't come back out until 1999, which is a little bit later, right? Which is around the same time these other models were coming out. So, there was kind of like a slight disconnect, but again, I have my appreciation for the model. At the end of the day, great shoe. I still got probably about 60 pairs of Jordan 4s in my collection. So, there's no way these wouldn't be on my top 10 list. But honestly, I'm surprised I put them at six. Now, coming up at fifth place, again, this is what I was talking about, the memories from that time. I had my kindergarten memories wearing this shoe. I got in trouble because I wasn't doing stuff at school because I had my Jordan 13s on [laughter] and I didn't want to get the pods dirty on the white side cuz my dad always told me, "If you kept your shoes clean, I'll get you another pair." So, I had my school shoes and I had my play shoes and I would bring extra shoes. And we're talking about literally from kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, you name it. I've been in this for that long. I've been doing it and I've been loving it for so long. And for this shoe, I always remember the holograph on the back of the shoe and on the bottom of the shoe. Looking at these elements of the shoe, there's just something that takes me back to that time and those moments in those eras. And as a kid, this was one of my favorite models uh of all time during that time. So since then, obviously, yes, amazing colorways have dropped. You know, I still got some samples, some pees, all the GR drops, all the OG colorways, all that type of stuff. At one point when these, y'all remember when it was like the burgundy and the white and UNCC and all those other pairs that was coming out during that time and there wasn't like a crazy amount of Jordan 13s, but it was a solid little slate of them. I had every single colorway of all those two back in the day. It was a good time to be a collector back then. There wasn't too many options, but still a solid amount of options. So, yes, for me, the Jordan 13, I felt like in today, how I'm feeling, these had to land in my top five. And again, comfort, you name it, style, these things are fire. Now, coming in at fourth place is another one that had I thought I was going to rank higher. Initially, I had it at second place and then I started to think about it. I was like, "Okay, let's let's factor in all these elements. As you see, I've been tying different parts of generations of the I've been doing the shoe game seriously as a collector for 20 years now. And I've been in the game since I came out the womb. You guys saw my original black metallic Air Jordan 5s, the soft bottoms. From that day on, my parents got me all the original colorways, which there was only like four colorways each year, but my parents had me laced up in all the best Jays as they were dropping. By the time I got to high school and I was able to purchase all my own shoes, I was working hard to make extra money so I could go buy all the Jays and continue my little mini legacy that I had going on cuz my parents told me they wasn't going to buy me no more shoes as soon as I got to high school. So, I had to figure it out. And that makes me think about those high school days because if you guys remember back in that 2006, 7 8 9 10 era. What was the hottest ones back then? You had the patent leather pack. I had [snorts] so many memories with those. The Olympic ones, the father's days, you name it. I can go down the list. There was some great ones at the time. And honestly, everybody was rocking with the mids. Then that's when we got the transition into the other models. And now we have this 85 cut, which is bringing us back to the OGs. So you guys know I got my OG 851s. I got the new era retro and I got all the other retros in between when it comes to a model like this. But I'm excited about this shoe for so many reasons from the past and current time and stuff for the future. There's always something to look forward to when it comes to the Jordan 1's. Even when people say the shoe is dead or whatever it may be, every single year there's a shoe in conversation that's potentially one of the best shoes of the year. Prime example, the Union Ones or the Off-White or the Virgil Ablo Air Jordan ones. There's some great stuff that's coming out this year that's in conversation for top sneakers of the year in my opinion, but less about what everybody else thinks. I feel like wearability. Yes, we have kind of transitioned a little bit more to the low tops, but I'm going to put the high top in that conversation. We'll just kind of bunch them all together. And I feel like the Jordan 1 is one of those ones that Chicago's breads, Royals, I will always have in my rotation and there's a guarantee I'm rocking them at some point. These are mandatory. And I almost feel like the shoe that's in third place should be switched with the shoe that's in fourth place. This is fourth place [music] now that I think about it because I feel like I wear ones more than I wear the other shoe. But the but the third place shoe is like a pedestal one that just it only makes sense. And that's the Air Jordan 11. Now for a long time, a long time the Jordan 11 was my favorite model of all time. Hands down. Guaranteed. Couldn't argue with me. No. But things have changed. I realized again, remember we talked about the Jordan 12s, the OG 11s. Bro, if you know, you know, so much more comfortable. And because these weren't as comfortable over the years, it caused me to look at different models and rock different stuff. And then obviously things change, outfits, styles, you name it, things change over the years. But I will always have the essentials in my rotation. People will see me rocking them naturally. Concords, breads, not as much with the Colombia, but I feel like the Space Jams, those fall into that category, even though they're not an OG, but again, the Air Jordan 11, I mean, I feel like I don't need to say much. You could easily put these at number one on a lot of people's list. But for me, when I think about my childhood and sitting in the bathroom and scrubbing the midsoles, cleaning the pairs up for my mom and my dad and having my own pairs and and looking back and just all the memories of these times and trading to get Jordan Elevens and getting the holiday drops and camping out every single year, like there's just so many ties and memory. I could go and bro, I could do a whole podcast episode about each one of these models and all the memories and stories that I have behind all these. I'm like trying to keep it brief for you guys, but the Jordan 11 mandatory had to be in my top three, but I was honestly kind of interested that these landed in third place in my top three. Now, coming in at second place is probably one of the shoes that I wear the absolute most. And I've started to realize it's kind of like my second favorite shoe in colorway of all time because you just can never go wrong with these. cuz they just look good with everything. And that is the Air Jordan 3, particularly in the black cement colorway. This is an absolute banger. I don't care what anybody says. They're way more comfortable than the Force. They're more functional than the Jordan 4s. And they came before the Force. Again, you could say the other one's an elevated version because it's improved over the year. Whatever you like to say it, but I know that's a big debate as well, threes or fours. For me, I'm going with the Jordan 3 all day. And I wear the black cement Jordan 3es so often, it's insane. Every time this shoe retros, I buy minimum two pairs, usually four pairs, [music] and immediately put a pair on my feet soon as they release and I get the pair at my house. So, >> for me, I 100% know that this had to be in my top two. But I still have my favorite shoe of all time, and I don't think I'm ever going to be sued anymore at this point. I know what my favorite shoe is and it's not going to change anytime soon and you guys probably know what it is by now. The Air Jordan [snorts] 6. Now, the infrared colorway in particular, this is my favorite model and my favorite colorway of all time when it comes to any shoe ever created. Yeah, I said it. And after I think about this, it's kind of wild that I don't have the fives on this list. How did I not put the fives on the list? I Those could have at least been like seventh place or something cuz I But I like the fives. I got a lot of fives. There's some dope ass colorways. Okay, let's just stay on topic with these sixes. Okay, I might have messed up, you know. It's okay. Again, I just grabbed what first with impulse. This is what first I saw. This what I think of. That's what I grabbed. So, that's how we got to the list. But this is my number one favorite show of all time. Born in 1991, the shoe naturally gravitated to me. MJ won his first championship. There's so many different ties to this shoe that I didn't even realize until I had gotten older and I was just naturally falling in love with the shoe and the model and the colorway. And I have again all the colorway versions of the retro iterations and the different random colors that have came out over the years and the car mines and September blues and you name it. Just all the different stuff. I love my Jordan 6's. It's one of my favorite models. No, it is my favorite model of all time. But that's crazy. See, I didn't put the fives on the list. I feel like there was Okay, let's talk about honorable mentions. How about that? Because these honestly, really what I should do after I think about this, I should just rank. We should do a ranking video 1 through 23 and then do another one through 41 because this is too hard, man. It's too hard. But the 15s I'm looking at right now, the 15s, the sevens, I like the fives. And I would say the nines is a sleeper and and maybe the 16. Nah, the 21s. The 21s. I like the 21s. I think the problem with the 21s was there wasn't enough fire colorways that came for that model. If there was more options, I think personally they should do a college PE pack on the Jordan 21 all suede series. Georgetown suede gray, UNCC suede, baby blue. You see what I'm saying? Organ Ducks all yellow, similar to the Supersonics's Ray Allen version. You name it. Like, drop the whole set. That would be fire. You know what I'm saying? But again, I don't know if they'll ever do it. It would be dope. And then they put the school logo on the side on the inside of the foot or something or on the tongue at the top end where they had a logo would be crazy. So yeah, that was just again off the cuff. I wanted to grab some shoes. what I was thinking, what I was feeling in the moment. Again, if I probably made this video another week from now, it would probably be a different list, but that's what I was feeling today.
