Toffees Linked With Crystal Palace and Colombian International Right Back... | Everton News Daily

Welcome to Toffee TV. It is the Everton news daily. Brennan Johnson is officially an Everton player after signing a four-year deal. He will wear the number 22 shirt, which was vacated by Keinan Dewsbury-Hall, who become Everton's new number eight. Uh, that was announced yesterday. Um, Dwight McNeil has gone to Crystal Palace in return. Um, makes sense. I think it's a I think it makes sense for both teams. I think Brennan Johnson has not enjoyed his spell at Crystal Palace. Obviously, he only joined there in January, um, but did not have a good spell there at all following on from his move from Spurs. And Dwight McNeil, really since, uh, David Moyes came in, uh, 18 months ago, has not really been part of the plans. He's played the odd game and, you know, had the odd assist, but has not really been in David Moyes's plans. He nearly obviously joined Crystal Palace on deadline day in January, but it it fell through, uh, at the last minute, but he's seen that deal completed today, and he is now left Everton. So, it's going to be interesting to see how Brennan Brennan Johnson fits in to this Everton squad. You know, but he can play he's very versatile, play on the left, play on the right, possibly even play down the middle. Uh, gives Evan a bit of pace, something that we haven't had. Um, so, it's going to be interesting to see how he gets on. For me, it's very much just like getting a free free player, a free signing, um, because obviously Dwight McNeil was in the last year of his contract and Everton were looking to get rid of him anyway. So, for me, it's it was a no-brainer. Um, hopefully, you know, it sparks, uh, Brennan Johnson's career back again. So, uh, good signing as far as I was concerned. As concerned, and as I said, "Jude Bellingham, Everton's new number eight." And him and Johnson getting the number 22. Uh last night, Everton were drawn against Preston North End away from home in the second round of the Carabao Cup. Um a quirk of fate, really, considering that Preston went through in the first round at Goodison on Saturday. They went through on pens. They scored a last-minute equalizer at the Gladestrees, and it was pure Gladestrees limbs. Um the question was asked, "Would this game be played at Goodison Park?" But it looks like Preston's pitch will be ready for for this game. But what a quirk of fate that would have been if Everton had returned to Goodison Park as the away team. That was a Yeah, that would have been a very, very strange very, very strange conclusion. But, um it looks like it'll be at Deepdale. Everton have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Muñoz, the Colombian international who obviously was part of the team that's won trophies in the last couple of years. Also played in the World Cup for Colombia. Um links with Evan for 18 million pounds. He's 30. He's got a couple of years left on his contract plus a year option. Um this has been muted in the last 24 hours. It's an interesting one. I think Evan have asked about him, and I think they've had a little bit of encouragement. Doesn't mean it'll happen, of course, but it does feel like Evan are ramping up the the search for that right-back in about time, too, with only with the season just over 10 days away. There is also talk that if Forest would be interested in the player as well. With his old manager, Oliver Glasner, interested in the player as well. And I can imagine if he was if he was available, there would be a few teams line you know, lining them up cuz he's a fantastic player. All action up and down. He obviously scored a tail Dickinson last season. So, um I mean, if Evan could get it done, then it would be a good would be a good sign. I know people would question his age, um, but he's only been in the Premier League a couple of years. So, he hasn't he hasn't got that sort of he hasn't got that Premier League baggage on him, I suppose, it's when players have played 200, 300 times in the Premier League, you know, wears them down by the time they get to 30, but I think playing just a couple of years following on from playing in Belgium. I think he'd be all right. So, um, we'll see. We'll see what happens with that one. Uh, tomorrow Everton play their penultimate pre-season game against Newcastle United in Edinburgh 5:15. We'll be doing a watch along on the channel. If you want to join us, Everton have jetted off from John Lennon Airport this evening, um, to get to get up there, probably do some training and uh play the game against Newcastle United. And obviously, in that will be Iliman Ndiaye, who according to sources have said that he's rejected the move to Saudi Arabia and wants to stay in the Premier League. Now, there's sort of conflict in reports on on that last bit as well. Um, some reports saying that he wants to build himself up a little bit more at Everton. But very much that last bit of he wants to stay in the Premier League. That's that's the most interesting. It'd be nice to hear from Iliman Ndiaye, sort of It's been There's been a lot said. It'd be nice to hear something from the player. But I suppose if he just gets his head down and plays for Everton and just gets back at it, then you know, it's just one of those things, isn't it? There's always speculation with players, but um, the talk is he he he will not be going to Saudi Arabia and he's concentrating on the Premier League now. Hopefully, that will obviously be with Everton. He's still got 3 years left on a deal. Um, Everton have been trying to convince him for a while to sign a new contract. So far, he's rejected those contracts. Um, so you know, Everton Everton they've got 3 years left. So they've got they've got all they hold all of the power on that. Um, so we'll see what happens, but good news and I'm you know, he he was involved obviously on Saturday and will be he'd look be looking for him to start against Newcastle United tomorrow.
