It's just as soon as it gets the feed, it starts playing it, but it's on like a half second delay until it realizes that it's playing and then it mutes itself. But there's that, you saw how long it was where I was just like >> anyway, uh we were talking about something much less pleasant. Sarah's dog. >> What was Oh, >> took a big old >> Well, >> present. Um, but the very short version is >> this is a good tease. Yeah. >> Yeah. My dog got out at about midnight a couple nights ago. Did not, you know, I mean, I trust me, I looked for him. Um, six hours later after I had sort of given up and just left the back door open, >> six hours is just Yeah. >> Yes. And trust me, Sarah did not sleep during this time, but I was sort of like, I'm better off at home >> if he comes back than, you know, wandering around somewhere else. >> He's going to be like, where'd she go? I better go back out and find her. >> Yeah, exactly. So, he came back. Um, all was well, but um, he, let's just say, seemed to be having some gastro issues. >> Yeah, because he probably ate some >> he ate something out of a garbage can. Yep. >> You know, or who knows? Who knows what he did? No one knows. Um, and >> only he knows. >> He's just like, I'll just do it. Um, cuz he'll eat anything if you give it to him. So, I'm sorry, Rex. I know this is embarrassing for you, but you know, you got to learn your lesson somehow. And uh public shaming is is what we're doing with that. >> Name and shame. >> But uh yeah, >> it's harsh but effective. >> Uh a couple hours later after I had I had laid down for a little while because I was like, well, you know, it's been a sleepless night for me and I have to do some work today. Um I woke up and I had a very large and very strange presence >> on my living room rug. And you can only imagine where that came from. Mhm. >> And I have to assume that Rex just had like a very spicy Mexican party, >> you know, because just just kind of given the stuff that he would have access to, you know, here and there on the street. >> Um it was very dramatic >> and I will spare you the details. Uh, but uh, your girl here had to do quite a bit of cleanup and I still think that I need to hire like a an actual professional carpet cleaner. Um, we we made some progress yesterday. We made some progress and everything seems to be fine now. You know, we're we're back at it. But, uh, I was and I had to stop being mad. I was mad at him all day yesterday. I would barely even look at him. And you could tell that he was just like, "I'm sorry." >> He's like, "I I don't know. I did terrible things to you. >> They don't even know why you're they just know you're mad at that point cuz >> he knew why I was mad. He did. >> He knew why. >> I've been told that dogs they they don't associate why you're mad with what they did very well. They know you're mad and so they're like, "Yeah, >> when I point at the, you know, volcano of death and I say, "Why did you do this?" And he's like, "Oh dear." He knows. He knows what he did. It wasn't me, it was him. Um but but yeah, this morning I had to just let it go that it wasn't you. >> This morning I you know he was he was very excited to um you know have his morning walk and everything seems to be fine now. Uh the the damage was done. Um and >> Howard says that it is a gift to provide candid feedback and Rex will should appreciate that. So there >> Yeah. Yeah, my little Mensah dog out here. You know, he's he's really on top of everything, you know. He's not The guy's It's like it also that whole thing was It's not like he's trying to escape. >> He never takes off like that. >> No, he doesn't. Um, in fact, he's very clingy. >> Did you hear like something in the distance or anything that might have caught his attention? I didn't. But later on when I was like cuz he went out the back steps. It's kind of hard to explain but you know we just don't have a fenced driveway you know so he ran out the driveway and you know by the time I ran out after him once I put my shoes on he was gone. >> Yeah. >> So I don't know if he was chasing something. He doesn't really have that much of a prey drive. >> He's not really like he doesn't even chase cats or squirrels or anything. >> Yeah. Uh, but you know, I think he was like, I want to eat some garbage >> because he knows from walking around that there's like a fair amount of just like chicken bones that people leave on the ground. Just >> Yeah. Which is dangerous. >> Totally. Yeah. Or just, you know, like a Taco Bell bag that might just be good to lick. Mhm. >> Anyway, um this morning I decided, okay, I can't just keep being mad at you because you ruined, you know, basically my day. And sort of still today, I'm not totally back on I I need a little bit more sleep, I think, before I feel like a human again, just because it was just so uh dramatic. But uh but yeah, I mean the you can you can only imagine the things that happen uh in worst case scenarios, you know, where a dog goes missing, crosses a street. >> Yeah. >> You know, you know, is is somebody swipes them? Like, who even knows? And none of that happens. So, uh congratulations, Rex. You had a fun six-hour solo journey and you'll never do it again. >> And now he's paying for it. >> That's right. Yep. Was it worth it? Let me >> He's like kind of mad at me. >> Don't answer that. It wasn't. >> So, yeah, it was uh it was one of those. >> Oh, I'm so sorry. That's the worst. >> It is. I know. To the point where I'm like, should I do like a makeshift fence? But then it would be like an HOA. We're We're just going to We're just going to be a lot um more stringent about coming and going leashed up. >> Yep. >> Because beforehand, you know, I'd be like, "Oh, we're almost home." Like, "I'll take him off the leash." And he, you know, sort of runs runs around for a minute cuz he knows >> comes right back in. Yeah. >> Yeah. And that just that didn't happen the other night. And I, you know, can't go through that again. You not only lost the sleep, you you you spent more energy stressing than even if you had just stayed up on an average night, you you you wouldn't be stressing. You wouldn't be spending all that energy worrying. So, it's like double whammy. >> Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. And it was it was actually funny when he So, I left my back door to wide open. I wasn't asleep because, you know, I couldn't, but I was kind of laying down just because I was just like, "You got to chill a little bit, Sarah." You know, um, instead of pacing around in circles. And when he ran up the back stairs, you know, that doesn't sound totally different than a human doing that, right? And I was paranoid, you know. It's like, not that I I mean, my neighbors for the most part are pretty chill people, but it's like if somebody sees a wide open back door and wants to run in my house, that's not good. >> No. >> You know, and so so I hear like steps, you know, so I kind of sit up and it's him, you know, and he comes in, you know, comes in and looks at me and and sort of does this like >> are you mad? >> Yeah. cuz the heat, you know, like like and I didn't want him to run out again, >> run away, right? >> Yeah. So, I was like, "No, no, no. Come in. Come in." I quickly go, you know, shut the door, lock it, >> and then it was like, "Go to your place." >> It's like It's like that parent who's so worried and then they're mad. >> Yeah. Yeah. Totally. >> It's like I was so worried and now I'm Now you're grounded. >> Do you know how worried I was? >> Yeah. You have no idea what I went through. Uh, well, maybe this will cheer you up. Come uh wrote in and said, "Thank you for the tote bag." Uh, he got one of the uh Patreon merch rewards that automatically go. I was watching DTNS had the video paused when the tote bag delivery arrived and it gave me a chuckle to see Sarah on the tote bag with the same facial expression as in the video. And he said he sent this picture. There you are. Len perfectly captured you and now you're doing now. There's three. There's three of you doing it. >> Yep. But uh but yeah, so the FI caller, which I reviewed on a previous episode of Live with It because I got it for free for 6 months through a partnership between Fi and my vet, Modern Animal, which is now owned by Chewy, so everybody's consolidating. >> Your vet is owned by Chewy. Interesting. >> Yeah. Yeah. Uh they were acquired a couple months ago, and I don't really think that'll change anything. And also, I'm I'm a big fan of Chewy. So, >> yeah, Chewy is not bad. I order from them a lot. >> Yeah. Um, great customer service. But anyway, the F caller was sort of like, hey, want to try it out? 6 months of a free subscription and, you know, and we'll give you the the tag, you know, that goes on the collar for free. And I was like, yeah, I love free things. But, but after that 6 months was over, I didn't feel like it made enough sense for us because again, my dog doesn't go running out >> um for me to pay a subscription. And I don't remember offhand, but it was something like 20 bucks a month, which >> listen, if if if that makes sense to you, totally get it. They also have a smaller one for cats as well if you're interested in, you know, where they are and where they're going. But I'm like, my dog is not really an outdoor dog. He's outdoors with me. Um, and that just it just didn't make sense for me to keep to keep paying for it. Now, last night I would have killed for that thing. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to get an Air Tag from Apple um from Chewy. Uh so, Chewy.com, they have little Air Tag um >> you know, >> like holders. >> Yeah. For for like a collar that's the size of the collar that Rex wears. Um, and that's what he's going to be rocking from here on out because the only thing that I couldn't do. Well, I mean, there were a lot of things I couldn't do the other night, but I was like, if I could track him, I mean, I could get in my car and I don't know. I mean, maybe he'd keep running, but at least I would know where he was. I mean, I have no idea where that dog was the other night. Um, and that was the nice thing about the FIller is I would have had his map and even if the map was confusing, I would have known how many steps he took and just a lot of information about, you know, 6 hours of me flipping out, calling the police. By the way, the police were like, "Uh, we can't like find your dog for you." But I tried. I did. Um because you know you just sometimes you get desperate and uh yeah they were like no and animal control isn't going to like come out at 4 in the morning either. We're just not going to do that. >> So there's no one who will try to find a dog in the middle of the night. >> Not really. Um you know I I posted on Next Door and Citizen. You know, I texted all the neighbors I had who I have contact information for where I'm like, "This is going to sound crazy. It's 3:30." But, you know, here we are. >> But, uh, turns out homeboy just came strolling. >> I'm back. Thank goodness. >> Hi. Are you mad? Okay, you are mad. I'm going to poop on your mad. Anyway, I had this great Mexican food. I'll tell you all about this. >> Yeah. Yeah. Like, ooh, ouch. You know, not sure it's sitting well with me. Yeah. >> So, let's just wait till mom takes a nap and then we'll >> and then I won't have time to wake her up cuz it's going to hit me like a ton of bricks. >> Always an adventure. I may have gone a little too hard and uh yeah, not feeling great now >> and you know uh been unable to uh make it where you need to go. >> Well, well, and you know, here I am sleeping at a funny time because I hadn't slept all night, >> you know. So, he's just sort of like, well, guess I got to do my thing. >> Yeah. And she's she's not waking up for love or money. >> Yeah. I'm like, my old dog Otis would like lick my face if he wanted to go outside, you know? You you couldn't miss it. He was good about that. Rex is just sort of like, >> well, don't disturb mother. >> Let's just do this. She won't be mad, right? And then, you know, you know how that goes. Yeah. Later. >> Thank God for nature's miracle. I'll tell you that. >> Oh, it is a miracle. It really is. >> It is. for anybody who doesn't. It's like a It's like an enzyme spray that's really good for accidents. >> It takes away not only the bad dirt stuff, but also the smell, which is important with pets who have a very good sense of smell, so they don't go like, "Oh, it smells like it's okay to go here." >> And you don't want that. which is something that you think like I mean if you've got like formula 409 or you know something like that it's like isn't that you know it's basically bleach related you know wouldn't wouldn't that take away stuff but everybody who is either you know a veterinarian or you know in the business of dog training or just anything they say no no no you need it doesn't have to be Nature's Miracle that's that's just one brand but something that's enzyme based because that actually kills the smell so that they don't go back to that place later and say, "Well, I peed here before." >> Yeah. Cuz the bleach will will get rid of the living things. It'll, you know, and it'll get rid of stains, >> but it won't necessarily get rid of of every aroma. And and dogs and cats are little sniffing machines like >> they are. It's true. It's true. And poor Rexy, I mean, he's he's when I first got him, which is gosh, we're going up on a year now, which is crazy. Um, it feels like he's still so new in this house, but >> yeah, >> time flies. >> But, you know, he had some accidents in the early days. Oh, sure. And, you know, you know, it was >> mildly annoying, but I chocked it up to like he doesn't know me >> and you know, he doesn't know where he is. And there have been a couple setbacks, you know, over the last year. >> That's pretty normal, too, >> especially with adopted dogs, >> right? And and you know, I also I have to be very very rigid about taking him outside because we don't have a yard. >> Well, we don't have a safe fenced in yard obviously. >> Yeah. >> Um so, you know, that and depending on my day, sometimes I'm like, "All right, you know, we're going out early and then you got to chill and then I'll take you out later." But you got to chill during the day. And he it took him a while, I think, to get used to that. Um but but yeah, it's it's just one of those things. It's one of those things. He's he's my little kid who had an accident. >> Yeah, exactly. They're permanently three years old. >> Mhm. >> That's what they say. >> Yeah. Although seven >> is seven three years old, right? >> He's two years old dog, you know, which is uh but they say they're permanently like a three-year-old human. >> Um I feel like sometimes seven is more like a six-month-old. Not not in this way that we're talking about now, but just like this morning out of nowhere, I went to put his collar on and he's like, "I'm going to play I'm going to play with my mouth. They're going to bite you while you try to put the collar. Not that he really is trying to bite me, you know, but I'm like, you haven't done this since you were like tiny. What What has gotten into you? >> Yeah. Like, what's your deal, man? >> Rex is the same thing. We call it T-Rex mornings >> where he's just like, I just want to nibble on your hands. Now, I wouldn't want him to do that with like a strange child, >> of course, >> but it's like he doesn't bite me. He's not biting. He's just like He's just like, I'm just being crazy. But it's it's very like it's >> it's childish. >> It's childish behavior. And I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just like you're just being a little kid. >> Yeah. >> You know, and he's he's only three himself. And I don't know, for anybody who has never dealt with a boxer, they're kind of clowns anyway. So like three-year-old is basically sixmon. Seven has a tiny bit of boxer in him, but he's got enough other stuff in him that uh makes him silly that I can't tell if the boxer is is part of it or not. Yeah, >> he's he's mostly he's 30% husky. He's like 25% Shepherd, then he's like 18% pitbull and less than 10% boxer and then a bunch of other things that it couldn't detect. >> Yeah. I mean, he looks I mean, he's very husky. >> He's got the husky tail. >> Shepherdesque. Yeah. >> Yeah. But then he's got the shepherd legs and the shepherdy ears. >> Yeah, >> I guess those are husky ears, too. But >> I mean, Otis, my previous dog, um, R O P R I P rather, not R O O P. Um, he he >> was boxer, great Pyrenees. And then he had a little uh American Stafy >> and a little little tiny bit of Doberman, >> which was always funny because he's like he was the opposite of what a Doberman looks like or you know I mean just I don't know what that was >> but um but he was he was very just sort of people were always like what kind of dog is that? >> Not not in a bad way like people looked at him put their finger on it. He was good. But you know when I would tell them I I would say boxer great pier and they go that is one heck of a you know interesting look. >> But Rex is purebred boxer. Now I got him from a rescue. >> Yeah >> cuz I don't I don't do uh breeder stuff but you know he was already in a rescue and that's what he is according to his DNA. Um, and so it's just like, all right, you have the characteristics of this dog. You are not a mixture of other dogs. >> Yeah. I mean, and not that every boxer is exactly like every other boxer, but you do have a a more more of a range of behavioral characteristics that he's going to fit into. >> We went to the dog park the other day, I don't know, a couple weeks ago, and there was a another boxer there. Um, you know, kind of same coloring, beefier, but you know, and and we made a beline and Rex was like, "Yeah, play with me. It's like looking in a mirror." And the other dog, whose name was Coconut, >> Coconut was just like, >> "Oh, really?" >> Cuz Coconut was like >> seven years old, and he was just like, "I'm at the dog park to chill and like sniff the fresh air and >> just sort of observe. I don't come here to play with you, young bucks. >> Yeah, Rex would not leave him alone, you know, and it was fine. I mean, it wasn't like it wasn't contentious, but it was cute where I was like, you know what? Not everybody wants to play with you. And he's like, but he's my brother. He's my brother. >> He ain't heavy. >> You could tell that he was like, "No, he looks like me, though. This is my dog." So, yeah, Coconut was a good sport. >> That's good. At least at least it was a good sport. Hey, >> hey, I'm back. Uh, waiting on uploads. Uh, Rue just turned one on Friday. >> Happy birthday, Rue. >> And she just started her first heat on Friday. >> Oh, is she a track runner? >> Not fun. >> Yeah. It's recommended twice for the cancer and the hips and all that stuff. We're just we're just going to do once. Or you know, you got to wait it out. We were um >> I I am lucky in that she's wearing the diapers well. Like she's not fighting me over the diapers and things like that. So she's she's kind of resigned. She's like puts her head down and just kind of stands there and lets me put it on. >> She gets really excited when I go to take it off cuz it means we're going outside. But yeah, it's been >> I un unless you're just begging for punishment. This is not recommended. >> I remember being at on like a a trail. This is with Otis, my my my former dog. And um it was we did it often enough that he knew our route and he was okay off leash. other people. You weren't really supposed to do that, but he was always fine off leash and other people had their dogs off leash and you know, they would just sort of run around, but he was essentially on the trail with me. And we came across a Doberman actually, like beautiful dog and like a family and um you know, so it's like mom, dad, little kids. And we're like, "Oh, hi. My dog's friendly." And they're like, "My dog is too." And so, you know, Otis is is very excited about this dog. And finally, you know, he's kind of like, I'm really excited, you know, in that way. And uh they're like, oh no, she's in heat. >> Oh no. >> Oh no. And I'm like, well, he's fixed. Yeah. So, I mean, we're not making puppies here today. But also, why are you here? >> Why did you not say that earlier? >> Yeah. Like, why are you here? Um, anything that connects to the internet really is is fair game. I have we re a few years ago, I guess it's been like five, six, eight years now. We replaced all the all four appliances in the kitchen, the refrigerator, the the microwave, the stove, and the dishwasher. We got them all to match. They're all smart in one way or the other. They all connect through the LG app. Um, except for the dishwasher. We could never I can never get it to connect. And the the thing it wants me to do is to go in the back and unplug it and plug it back in. Do you know how hard it is to pull a dishwasher out? >> Yeah, that doesn't sound fun. That's a thing you never want to do. >> I've tried doing the circuit breaker and that doesn't work. So, it wants me to actually go in in the back and pull it out and then hit like a reset button or something on the back of the dish dishwasher. I'm like, that's not that that's just never going to get connected. >> Yeah. I tried to uh hook up my LG um laundry machine to the Wi-Fi and it just wouldn't do it. It was one of those old style where like, "Okay, switch your phone to connect to the LG Wi-Fi and then tell that what your Wi-Fi is." And it just wouldn't it wouldn't do it. So, I gave up. I was like, "Forget it. I don't need my laundry. >> I don't need a notification that my dryer is done. It's fine. I can I can live in the past." Tom, you don't have you don't live in a house with five people. It's important to get a notification right now. >> I know it's important. I'm just resigned to the fact that I'm like, well, it's just not going to connect. Um and then uh Howard just suggested epic fail product launches as well. So, we got some good ones in here. Uh, I like the smart home appliances one, too. That's a really good one. We've got a nice little list going. That's the the the best thing about smart home appliances and messaging is we have a nice list of good candidates for the tournament. So, that that gives them a leg up. But yeah, we'll uh I don't know. We'll decide by next week.
