THIS RAVENS SITUATION ISN’T OVER YET…THE NFL STILL HAS A BIG DECISION TO MAKE!
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The Baltimore Ravens' situation remains unresolved as the NFL continues to review allegations involving top wide receiver Rashod Bateman, despite recent statements from his accuser recanting her claims. While Adam Schefter initially indicated that no other players would be placed on the commissioner's exempt list, he later clarified that matters regarding Bateman and others are still under league review. This ongoing scrutiny suggests that the story is far from over, adding a layer of uncertainty to the team's roster construction and potentially impacting one of their key offensive weapons during the season.
Amidst these off-field developments, fan enthusiasm for the Ravens has reached new heights, with supporters expressing unprecedented excitement for the upcoming season. Viewers have highlighted their confidence in new head coach Jesse Minter, praising his defensive schemes and mental toughness as crucial factors in the team's success. The squad's performance against the Washington Commanders during preseason practices further boosted morale, showcasing a disciplined unit that executed plays flawlessly without appearing lost or confused, a stark contrast to previous seasons where players seemed unsure of their roles.
The discussion also touched on various roster decisions and potential trades, particularly regarding third-string quarterback Josh Feeney, whose impressive play has sparked rumors of him being traded for draft picks. Fans and analysts alike agree that the Ravens have good reason to keep him on the roster, either to utilize his talent or to leverage an offer from another team without sacrificing a high draft pick. Additionally, the team's schedule presents exciting matchups against division rivals like the Bengals and Steelers, as well as challenging games against the Bills and Chargers, all of which promise to test the new offense and Lamar Jackson's abilities in ways that television broadcasts cannot fully capture.
Ultimately, the combination of resolving internal issues, maintaining a strong defensive mindset under Minter, and capitalizing on favorable scheduling opportunities sets the stage for a promising season. The team's ability to adapt quickly with a new coaching staff and execute complex offensive schemes without relying solely on individual heroics from Lamar Jackson offers fresh hope for fans. As the league continues its investigation into Bateman's case, the Ravens must navigate these challenges while building momentum toward their Super Bowl aspirations, proving that their journey is just beginning despite recent controversies.

While we were all following along the
Baltimore Ravens put together their
53-man roster, and then as we watched
them assemble the 16-man practice squad,
Adam Schefter slipped in some
information in the background while
nobody was paying attention that could
still potentially impact the Baltimore
Ravens, specifically one of their top
wide receivers. And that is Rashod
Bateman. Now, we know the allegations
that were against Rashod Bateman from a
few weeks ago. We also know about his
girl recanting her statements, but the
NFL is basically saying like, "Look, we
heard all that, but the legal system
still got to play out and our system
still got to play out as well. Let's
read what Adam Schefter said." He said,
"No other players will be placed on the
commissioner exempt list today." And
that was Sunday. He said, "Other matters
still remain under the league's review."
And that is significant. And he said,
"Puka Nacua and Alaric Jackson in Los
Angeles and Rashod Bateman in
Baltimore."
So, Adam Schefter is letting it be known
that while we haven't heard any updates
on the Rashod Bateman and the
allegation, that whole ordeal, which is
great, in my opinion,
>> [snorts]
>> is still not over yet. So, this is still
something that we need to watch for.
You know how there are certain things
that you know you need to take care of,
but you just keep putting them off? For
me, it could be just going to get a
normal checkup cuz a lot of times I
don't feel like it. I got this, that,
and the third to do, and I just keep
pushing it off and pushing it back like
crazy. You're busy, you got to figure
out who takes your insurance, who's
actually available. Then you're calling
around and sometimes you'll even wait in
weeks just to get an appointment. So,
you tell yourself, "I'll handle it
later." And then later turns into even
later. And I know I'm not the only one.
So, if there's something that you've
been putting off, don't keep doing that.
And that's exactly where today's sponsor
comes in, Zocdoc. Zocdoc is a free app
and website where you can search and
compare highly-rated in-network doctors
near you. They actually see appointment
availability. You can filter based on

First question came from Jayda, who's a
Team Keep It Clean patron, which I
appreciate. Thank you very much. She
said, "Engraven, Jayda." She said, "I
got a Super Bowl prediction uh this
season. I think we, us Ravens, will
beat" and she's put beat and b e a t all
caps. "We will beat the Rams in SoFi."
Hey,
that's not a prediction.
That's a spoiler. Anyway, continuing she
said, "Uh I have to be honest, though.
If he still if we still had Harbaugh
with the same team, I think we lose. If
we even made it that far." Oof. Well, I
Anyway, continuing and she said, "I got
faith in Minter, though. He's a winner.
Let's not forget his resume with
Michigan. I'm so excited for this season
more so than I ever have been doing this
decade." Oof.
10 years is a long time.
So, she took it back to 2016.
There was no Lamar Jackson on this team
back then, obviously. He wasn't even in
the in the NFL yet.
Um
that was the year before we got Marlon
Humphrey. Uh that was the year after we
went what, 5 and 11? Oof.
>> [laughter]
>> That was ugly, but 2016, man, wow. Um
so, but hey, I if this is the most
excited that you've been
since in the past decade, like even over
2019, even over 2023, like that's that's
some real excitement right there. And I
can't be mad at it because it's a breath
of fresh air. Things are brand new.
Expectations, though, they still remain
high. Uh she said, "Uh side note, we got
a new Joe Cool. He's calm under pressure
and shows up when he's needed, except
that one interception in the first
preseason of the game, but he's got
right since. Even that interception, um
I got to look at it again cuz I thought
the receiver might have slowed up a bit,
but
water under the bridge now. Josh Feeney
Yano is that guy at third-string
quarterback. So, shout out to him. And
then she also said,
side note, "Moody, like for real?"
Yeah, for real.
Next question came from Melo. He said,
"The schedule." Okay, let's see what
he's talking about. He said, "What's up,
Ingraven?" What's happening, Melo? How
you doing? He said, "First, I just want
to say on behalf of team keep it clean,
we appreciate you. You give us an avenue
to voice opinions respectfully while
providing your own intake on situations,
and it's good to hear what others have
to say." Oh man, yeah, that's my
favorite part. Like for real. I love
that you said that it's good to hear
what others got to say cuz
to sit here, I couldn't even listen to
me talking for 2 minutes alone. That's
why we love getting to y'all questions
because we hear what y'all say about the
Ravens and the NFL in general, and we
love it. So, I appreciate y'all. Anyway,
he said, "Sometimes I'm like, man, I'm
glad I'm not the only one that feels
that way." Yes. Yeah, and that happens a
lot. Like that'd be happening a whole
lot. He said, "I catch your videos every
morning here in Japan, and it's like
morning motivation to the day. I'll be
traveling to Indy for the first game, my
first live Ravens game in 6 years." Why
you traveling from Japan to
Indianapolis, Indiana?
That's a beautiful thing, man. Congrats
to you. I'm glad you're getting to go.
Hope Jesse meant to put a extra extra 23
points just for you. Extra, I said.
Extra. That's the bonus on top of
whatever else we going to score. Anyway,
all right, he said, "And I'm just
wondering what key match-up currently on
the schedule would you say to someone
that has never seen a live Ravens game
that this is it, this is the one you
need to be at?" Peace and blessings from
the Far East. I appreciate you, Melo.
Ooh, that's a that's an interesting
question right there. That's a different
one.
Mhm. I'd say, "Hey, this is the one that
you you got to see it. You guys too."
Um I would say
really all of them, but
division games, uh the Bengals cuz they
are headache. We've been getting the
best of them, but they're still a
headache. Uh the the Steelers, like
hopefully this this new era can just
bring us
wins against the Steelers. We ain't been
winning against Pittsburgh. It's been
some funny business going on, but still
we ain't been winning against
Pittsburgh.
Um the Bills Oh man, get me started on
them Bills. Bills games. Um
Well, I don't think we play the Chiefs
this Do we play the Chiefs this year?
Oh Chargers. Chargers and Ravens games
are always fun. Not the playoff game
from 2018,
but all the other Chargers Ravens games
they they be a lot of fun. So those
would be some of the ones that I I mean
there's a million that you could choose
from. Really any Ravens game cuz if you
get the
literally just seeing Lamar Jackson in
person like you look on TV. You watch
Lamar Jackson on TV. It's like, "Oh man,
that guy he is really like that. Wow,
he's fast. He's quick. That man can do
everything. Look at that pa- Oh my
goodness, that man got a arm. His arm is
very very underrated."
But then if you see him in person,
you're like, "Oh Oh my goodness, that
man is flying. That man makes so much
happen out of nothing."
But now with this new system, with this
new scheme, with this new offense,
he shouldn't have to do all that
creating like he had to do in previous
offenses because this offense should
create opportunities for him and
everybody else that much more.
Next question came from my guy Michael.
He said, "Hey Engraven, this is Mike
Hurd again." He said, "This Ravens
versus Commanders I'm loving Jesse
Minter's defensive schemes. We putting
belt to behind."
Oh, next time I I Mike was just he was
heavy into the game. He was hyped. He
was excited. So he didn't say belt to
behind. He didn't keep it so clean. I'm
going to let y'all use your imagination
for what he put, but
it's what it's the meaning of that word
is is also called a donkey. But anyway,
he He "We putting belt to behind on
these dead skins, lol. They just need to
go back to DC already. This Deckland
Doyle offense, two words, very
impressive. They had a few mistakes, but
overall, we playing good football. But,
I'm not going to hold you up, but we won
this game a long time ago." Okay, so
yeah, he was definitely hyped cuz he
sent this in the middle of the game. So,
yeah, that game was over before it even
started. And and the again, the
consistency from what we heard happened
at the joint practices, they said the
Ravens were whooping the Commanders.
Like, it was it was ugly. He said the
Commanders, they did make some plays on
the Ravens now, too, but overall, it
said the Ravens were whooping up on them
Commanders. And then, we saw what
happened in the preseason game, so they
weren't lying.
Next question came from Billy. He said,
"Josh Funyuns."
I believe Joe can start for multiple
teams in the NFL. I don't know if this
makes me delusional, but I low-key think
that since Josh Funyuns was playing out
of his mind, a team in the NFL will bite
the cheese and send multiple draft picks
for him. And the fact that he is our
third-string quarterback is insane to
believe.
You never know.
Ravens kept him on the roster for a
reason.
I think one, because he looked nice. He
looked really, really good. But, I think
two, and probably two before one,
especially for the Ravens, especially
for EDC, I think they want to see who
does exactly what you say. If somebody's
going to send an offer for Josh Funyuns,
because teams are always looking for
quarterbacks. And for Josh Funyuns being
an undrafted rookie free agent, really
anything that the Ravens get for him
would be a win. Anything would, because
they didn't use a draft pick to get him.
He was undrafted. So, if they got a
sixth-round pick, that would be a win.
If they got a fifth, that would really
be a win. If they got a fourth, that
would really be a win.
So, that's one of the other reasons I
think Ravens kept him on the roster,
because they want teams to offer
something, rather than them being like,
"All right, Josh Funyuns, you can just
go for nothing." Cuz somebody got to
bite, right?
Next question came from my guy Russell.
He said, "Uh from a mindset standpoint,
who are the Ravens under Jesse Minter?
I'm excited to see what his mindset will
be in game. His mental prowess is what
he truly brings."
And that's what we need.
The mentality because they're going to
go as he goes. And he's continuing to
instill whatever his mentality is with
this current team right now. So far from
what we've seen, the evidence that's
been presented to us at this point in
the season,
sound defense,
um or just really sound football in
general.
Uh
not being penalized, but just
confidence, um assurance in what they
have to do. Uh an understanding of their
responsibilities. And those things like
they sound cliche, they sound so
generic, but they're not and we can't
take them for granted as Ravens fans
because we've seen previous teams where
guys were looking lost. Guys didn't know
what to do.
Guys would like Even Odafe Oweh said it.
And he said it after week one. He said
it to I forgot to he's to somebody in
the media after week one. He said, "Hey,
yeah, we were up on the Bills. We
thought the game was over.
We thought that was a wrap. We thought
it was done."
So that was the mentality previously.
But obviously
that mentality
it ain't cut it, my friends.
So Steve Bisciotti, he ended up cutting
Justin Tucker.
Cut the cord on him.
So with Jesse Minter, yeah, like you
said, the
the mental that he brings to this team,
that's going to make such a big diff and
it already has made such a big
difference.
And we saw like
you would expect backups, depth guys,
rookies, inexperienced players to be
looking lost out there. It's preseason.
That's their opportunity to look lost.
That's their opportunity to look like
they don't know exactly what's going on.
We ain't see that at all.
Three games, new head coach, never been
a coach before. Three games. We ain't
nobody was looking lost.
And to give up 13 total points. You're a
new coach, buddy. Act like one. Jesse
Minter said, "Nah, I'm not."
I'mma act like I've been here before.
So, that makes us more excited for this
season.
