Hey, today, guys, what if I were to tell you I know not just the exact week of the Nintendo Direct. We talked about that in the last video, although we have an update to that. I know the exact day. And I didn't actually need any leaks or rumors to get there, but we still are going to go over some stuff because, of course, we have to because there's been an update on our last video. So, on our last video, we talked [music] about uh how I was suddenly a little bit interested in what Botox Games was saying because of a hint from Attack the Backlog on [music] our live stream, where he said, you know, I was joking around and asking about Direct dates and just I knew he wasn't going to say anything and he jokingly brought up the hey, Botox Games said something. You know, and I'm like, "What do you mean Botox Games said something, right?" And I kind of knew what he was, you know, referencing, but I wasn't quite sure if Botox Games is trying to leak things or not. Now, here's the post where he was talking about it here and he says, "Two weeks until the Nintendo Direct. That's crazy." You can see my reply saying, "That's my guess as well." And then he says, "Who says?" And he says, "Me." And then he did the wait, did a date get leaked and then the whole shh meme, right? He put the the emoji up in there. So, it made it kind of feel like, "Oh, maybe he does know something." I don't know, right? That's kind of where we were getting the second week from. Well, Botox has now updated this and look, guys, it turns out he was just guessing. He says, "You need Y'all need to chill out. Not a leak. Mostly just an educated guess. It could be anytime in September." So, maybe, you know, he says, "Mostly just an educated guess." So, maybe he knows something, but he's just not really sure about it. Or maybe he just knows absolutely nothing, right? Okay. So, oh, that would seem to make my video yesterday irrelevant and you might think I lied. Well, here's the thing. Uh one, didn't know if he was leaking or anything or not. I made that very obvious in the video. But two, what if I were to tell you it's going to be the second week of September anyways and I know the exact day. We're going to get into that in a bit cuz there was some other things I brought up in the video I didn't really show such as the example. I talked about Doc Tray 81. He's been very, very good at predicting weeks that directs [music] are going to take place. He takes off work. It seems to work out every time. And he noted here, let's see if I picked the right week off for the Nintendo Direct again. And he said, "You're bet. I'm off the second week of September." Okay, I brought that up. I also mentioned SwitchForce. I was actually wrong about what SwitchForce said. So, I need to correct the record. So, I went back to his channel cuz I knew he said it over on his channel and I knew it was a video that said two weeks. And it was right here. It said, "I'm calling it. A Zelda Direct is coming within the next two weeks." Now, that was right after the Zelda 40th anniversary leaking of the console and the controller. And it's obviously been, as you see, two weeks since he made that video. And we did not get a Zelda 40th Direct. So, he made a prediction. He was obviously wrong. I'm going to tell you right now, what I'm doing today is not making a prediction. I'm making a guarantee on the week. And uh part one You know what? I'm going all in. Put egg on my face if you want. I'm guaranteeing what I'm about to show you right now because uh when in doubt trust math. Let's go look at the math about when a Direct is going to happen in September. So, here's a post I just put up a little bit ago cuz I did the math. I crunched the numbers. Get ready for it. It's insane. So, it says, "So, what week of September, if a Direct is to occur, would it most likely be and what day?" Let's look at those historical dates. So, we got in 2025 it took place on September 12th. In 2024, they [music] didn't have one. They had two in the end of August there, but they didn't have one in 2024. In 2023, they had it on September 14th. 2022, September 13th. 2021 was on September 23rd. 2020 was on September 17th. 2019 was on September 4th. 2018 was on September 13th. 2017 was on September 13th. And 2016 was on September 1st. Now, why does it stop in 2016 when Direct started in 2017? Guys, they just didn't have a Direct in 2015. I literally got all this information off the Direct archive, so unless there's a mystery Direct that was deleted from 2015, they didn't have one then. So, every year they started having September Directs, which began in 2016. They've only ever missed one year, and that was in 2024. And when you think of the COVID year, they still had a Direct. It was just a mini Direct. All right. So, let's go in and see what happens next because it's easy enough to see that the first 2 weeks of September is actually the most common, with the second week having five of those Direct dates, with the first week having two, and the third week also having two, with none in the final week. Now, another gaming event happens that month, Tokyo Game Show. Here are their historical dates going back to 2016. So, in 2025, it began on September 17th. In 2024, it began on September 26th. In 2023, it began on September 21st. In 2022, it began on September 15th. In 2021, it began on September 30th. In 2020, it began on September 24th. In 2019, it began on September 12th. In 2018, it began on September 20th. In 2017, it began on 9/21, so September 21st. And 2016 was September 18th or 15th, sorry, 15th to the 18th, as you're seeing on screen. So, it says, if you break this down, seven of the September Directs happened the week before Tokyo Game Show with two of them being two weeks before. Now, you might wonder why does Nintendo do directs and you know, all that stuff like before Tokyo Game Show. I was about to say State of Plays, but actually there isn't really a pattern with State of Plays in September. They're literally all over the place and they don't seem to care about Tokyo Game Show at all. Maybe because PlayStation is now located in the US instead of in Japan, but that's a whole different story. Uh so, let's just focus here on obviously Tokyo Game Show being a Japanese show and Nintendo being a Japanese company because Nintendo has a lot of big partner companies showing off games on their platform at Tokyo Game Show. So, Nintendo has always had their September direct before Tokyo Game Show. So, there is a relation. We have to keep this in mind. All right. So, let's go back and see how this plays out. So, what does this mean for what week in September a direct is likely to happen? Well, we know a direct in September, you know, a general or mini, has never happened the same week or after Tokyo Game Show. So, when is Tokyo Game Show this year? September 17th is when it begins, right? All right. So, that means a direct is either happening next week or the week after. Statistically, the second week is the most common week already. And then, if you include the fact that seven out of nine of their directs happened one week. So, just the week before Tokyo Game Show, it lines up again to this year, to the second week of September. It really seems like it's undeniable that the second week of September is a lock for the next big Nintendo direct. No rumors or leaks required for this one. Boom, baby. So, yeah, even if you know, Boat Talk's obviously suggesting it and all that, as he said, doesn't really matter. It's going to be the second week because that's literally what all the math says it's going to be. Nintendo is extremely extremely consistent in the month of September. It's the one direct month that yes, well they've had directs in June and obviously February as common months. The reasoning and the timing of their directs are very very specified. Now what if I told you we can actually narrow this down to an exact day? So what day of that week are we going to get the direct? Well, I did the math on that. So we go back here. So the days of the week that a direct in September have happened on are as follows. Tuesday, we've had one. Wednesday, we've had two. Thursday, we've had five and Friday, we had one. Now, last year we had our first ever general direct on a Friday. >> [music] >> Wednesday hasn't actually happened in a handful of years and Thursday seems to be the vast majority of when they do these directs. So, second week of September on Thursday. That's what the math says. So lock it in 9 10 2026. September 10th 2026. We'll be really exciting getting done with PAX and working on that content only to be hyping up the 9 10 direct on our podcast the night before cuz we do have a podcast on Wednesday before and if there is a direct that day on the 10th, we'll clearly have a bonus podcast that day. You're getting a lot of podcasts over the next couple of weeks. We have our podcast coming out Tuesday then a bonus one on the following Sunday and our normal one on the Wednesday and then our oh my gosh, probably a bonus one again on that Thursday from what it's looking like. So, yeah, I'm actually willing to bet pretty hard that a Nintendo direct is happening on September [music] 10th. And the big thing obviously is what kind of direct is it? And we have talked about all the possibilities in the past. I think one thing is very clear. Guys, we have a leaked 40th anniversary controller. We have a leaked 40th anniversary console, and we haven't seen gameplay for Ocarina of Time yet. I think it is a given, an obvious given that there will be a 40th anniversary portion to this direct. We can just lock that in. I don't think that's even something that's up for debate, especially with the leaks out there now. We have the logo, we got everything. So, guys, we are going to end up getting all of that packed into the direct. And seeing Ocarina of Time for the very first time. You might go, "Well, what about Fire Emblem?" They just did a dedicated Fire Emblem direct. So, I don't think that they're really concerned about Ocarina of Time overshadowing. It doesn't come out for months. Yeah, it's probably, by the way, as we discussed before, Ocarina of Time is probably releasing on November 12th, the same day as amiibo drops they have going. Also happens to be a Thursday. You actually look at the history of amiibo drops, this is really consistent. That said, that's a prediction for that date. We'll see how that plays out cuz we will probably get the release date in this direct. That also is a week before GTA, which might actually be decent timing for the holidays. All right, guys. Now. Now, now, now. What about the rest of the direct? Is it just going to be a Zelda 40th direct? I do not believe it will be. There are some third-party games we still need dates for. I did misspeak on LEGO Batman [music] last time. We already have a date for that. My bad. Uh so, thanks for the corrections down in the comments on that one. I always will appreciate when you guys correct me when I make a factual [music] error like that. I was thinking of the wrong game at that time. Either way, we have some third-party games that need dates. We have some rumored third-party games that haven't even been announced yet. We talked about one of those [music] uh in our last video. And beyond all of that, Nintendo has to hype us for 2027. And while Wind Waker is great, Wind Waker is handled, announced, and [music] marketed by the Pokémon Company with the assistance of Nintendo, right? So, the only game Nintendo has announced from their internal studios for 2027 is Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which I think it's supposed to be a prequel, or maybe it's like a new series. I'm not really sure. I haven't done a lot of research into Genesis yet. I've been kind of keeping my distance ever since they announced it just cuz I'm like, well, I know they're going to give us information blow what on that in 2027, so I'm just going to hold back. But also, Xenoblade is not really a big seller for them. It sells kind of around Kirby numbers. So, I would think Nintendo would want something from their internal studios that's big announced for next year. So, this is why I do think that this is going to end up being a big general direct that has a 40th anniversary section about a 20 25 minute section for Zelda's 40th, but then another 15, 20, maybe even double, maybe it's a 50 minute or an hour long direct, >> [music] >> and then the rest of the general direct marketing all of their games, including Fire Emblem, including Switch Sports Resort, and yes, including a big announcement for next year. Now, what is the big game announcement that they could announce for next year? Well, lots of people want to see 3D Mario. It would really be nice to see that locked in to actually be releasing 10 years after the last brand new 3D Mario, not Bowser's Fury, which was cool, but I mean a full-fledged out 3D Mario game hasn't happened since the '97 overall Mario Odyssey in 2017 that lost out to the '97 overall Breath of the Wild for game of the year. They both were highly deserving, and I'm sure the voting might have been a little close even. I have no idea, but the nod went to Breath of the Wild. So, I do think that there is something to be said about having to market a 3D Mario potentially here. Some people worrying that it will overshadow Ocarina of Time. Well, that might be true in some senses. I will just say this, guys, even if it overshadows Ocarina of Time, we're not going to see the game again until next year. Whereas, once Fire Emblem comes out, I fully suspect, and yes, there'll be some Switch Sports Resort marketing, Ocarina of Time marketing is going to start beginning, I believe, towards the end of October. And if that's the case, or you know, maybe even towards the end of September, then Ocarina of Time is going to keep capturing spotlight again and again and again and again as they show it more and more. Maybe even with these demos that we can go play of like the Kokiri area, uh you know, at Best Buy and Target and all that stuff. I think that is a realistic potential expectation depending on how they rebuilt this world. Uh but yeah, so I do think that who cares? Cuz they're just going to be marketing Ocarina of Time pretty heavily the rest of the year because that is their big holiday game. Mario probably won't see till the February Direct if we get one next year. Remember, we didn't have a February Direct this year. We had to wait till June. It's possible we're only going to get two big Directs a year and they'll be like an hour long. So, we might have to wait all the way till June to see that Mario game. I don't know. Plus, Nintendo has to set up a little bit of stuff for the beginning of next year. We don't really have anything slated for the last 3 months of their fiscal year. So, they're not going to make us wait all the way till February for that. I kind of feel like they could announce some other stuff as well. We need dates for Dust Bloods, by the way, as well. That has to be dated. So, that's another reason that we absolutely need to have a Direct, not just a Zelda Direct. So, I think everything lines up here. You guys let me know what you think though down in the comments below uh cuz guys, if I wasn't crazy, I would bet my entire YouTube channel on that date.
