Video summary

The video transcript centers on a fierce critique of Marcy Kaptur, a long-serving Democratic congresswoman from Ohio, who released a political advertisement that the speaker argues is deeply transphobic. In the ad, Kaptur claims she voted with Republicans to keep "transgender ideology" out of schools and asserts that boys should not play in girls' sports, framing these positions as necessary to win an election rather than as genuine policy stances. The speaker expresses profound outrage at this shift, noting that while Kaptur has historically been supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and endorsed by major queer organizations, she appears to be adopting extreme bigotry solely for political expediency. This behavior is described as going far beyond other Democrats who have recently opposed trans rights, effectively endorsing a "Don't Say Gay" style of censorship that restricts free speech and solidarity within schools. The speaker contextualizes Kaptur's actions as part of a disturbing trend within the Democratic Party where politicians are increasingly abandoning their base to court conservative voters by adopting anti-trans, anti-immigrant, and xenophobic rhetoric. The transcript lists numerous other high-profile Democrats, including Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom, who have similarly "thrown trans people under the bus," suggesting that this is not an isolated incident but a creeping normalization of transphobia within the party. The narrator argues that while opposing trans sports was already unacceptable, expanding this stance to include bans on gender-affirming healthcare for youth and erasing queer presence in schools represents a dangerous escalation. The core argument is that Democrats are mistakenly believing they can abandon their entire LGBTQ+ base and still win elections, a strategy the speaker views as unforgivable and politically suicidal. In response to Kaptur's ad, the speaker outlines a clear three-point demand: she must withdraw the advertisement immediately, publicly renounce her bigoted positions, and issue a sincere apology to the LGBTQ+ community. The video documents the speaker's personal attempts to contact Kaptur's offices in Washington D.C. and Ohio, only to be met with automated messages indicating that calls were missed or placed outside of business hours. Despite these obstacles, the speaker urges viewers to call, email, and share the message widely to ensure that constituents understand their support is conditional on respecting trans rights. The conclusion emphasizes that if Kaptur does not reverse course, she will lose her seat in the next election, as millions of allies and families with trans members will no longer tolerate being treated as political pawns. Ultimately, the video serves as a call to action to draw a firm line against transphobia before the entire party fully embraces it, warning that silence on this issue could lead to irreversible damage for the community.

We're stuck in another unnecessary war and inflation is making everything worse. But my opponent won't talk about all that. He'd rather lie about my record. Well, here's the truth. I voted with Republicans to keep transgender ideology out of our schools. Because parents know what's best for their kids and boys should not play in girls sports. Don't let them change the subject. I'm Marcy Captor and I approve this message because I'm focused on making your life more affordable. That was an ad from a so-called Democrat. A Democrat released that ad. That was Marcy Captor. She is running in Ohio's 9th congressional district and she has been a member of Congress since before I was born. And for the most part, she's been fairly good on LGBTQ plus issues. She's been endorsed by the Human Rights Campaign and other queer organizations, but all of a sudden, she's going full bigot because she thinks that that's what she has to do to win this election. And she's taking it so much further than other Democrats who recently threw trans people under a bus. She's not just saying, "I oppose, you know, um, trans sports, but I also oppose gender ideology in schools." And I don't even know what the [ __ ] that means. What is gender ideology? there is no gender ideology. There's queer people that want to exist and you're saying actually their existence should not be made known because it sounds like when you say no gender ideology in schools, you're effectively endorsing a dissantist style don't say gay law, which is restrictions on free speech, stopping teachers from even, you know, showing any solidarity with queer people. The rainbow pin, the flags, they've got to take that down. They can't even put a picture of their partner on their desk. Like this was the outcome of don't say gay laws. So the fact that a Democrat would take it this far, this is unfucking forgivable. I'm pissed. This is not okay. All right. There are some things that should be beyond the pale even for Democrats who are spineless and weak. But like for them to abandon us on Medicare for all, this was always the party of universal healthcare. for them to go full xenophobe in 2024, throw immigrants under the bus. Kla Harris was pretending like she was more anti-immigrant than Trump. For them to support a genocide and now to go the way of labor and abandon trans people. What the [ __ ] This is so unacceptable. It's It's like the dam is breaking and this is just becoming a trend in the Democratic party. Aside from Marcy Captor, another Democrat, Lindseay James, running in Iowa's second congressional district, also released an ad where she threw trans people under a bus. On top of that, if you watch the video that I released earlier this week, uh there was Aaron Ford, Josh Turk, Rob Sand, James Terico, Amy Actton, all Democrats who also decided to throw trans people under a bus. Before that, we had Kla Harris, Gavin Newsome, Pete Buddha Judge, Rahm Emanuel. I mean, the party is just becoming transphobic, anti-trans creep is happening before our very eyes. And it started as them just like disavowing trans people in sports, which was bad in and of itself. But now they're expanding that. Some are opening the door to banning gender affirming healthcare for trans youth. Others are saying no gender ideology in schools. And it's crazy that Marcy Captor would say that. And she's like, oh, you know, let's uh let's not let Republicans change the subject. who just let them change the subject. You talked about issues that should be discussed, affordability, Trump's wararmongering, and then you fed right in to the thing that you shouldn't have fed into, dumbass. Like, it's just it's astonishing to me that Democrats think they can abandon their entire base and still get elected. Like, there needs to be hell to pay for this kind of [ __ ] Like if you live in Ohio's ninth congressional district and this woman is your representative, you need to let her know that she does not have your vote on lock, that doesn't mean that you don't vote for her cuz we don't want the Republican to win. But she needs to at least think that taking this position is going to be costly. And really what I want to do is I want to make an example out of Marcy Captor because, you know, there's a lot of Democrats who are becoming transphobic now for purposes of political expediency, but you're not going to be able to reach all of them. But if we can reach one of them and at least let them know that we are not going to [ __ ] tolerate this [ __ ] then maybe we can make a difference. Maybe some of them will get the message and be less inclined to just throw an entire community under a bus. They need to know that trans people, sure, they're only 1% of the population. But there are many, many more, many millions more of trans allies, people with trans family who are not going to tolerate this. And they need to know once and for all this is not going to be okay. your base is not going to keep supporting you if you keep spitting in our [ __ ] eyes. So, I think that we need to make a reasonable request. Okay? I'm not asking for anything extreme. I'm not saying she should resign, even though she should. All I'm requesting is three things. Okay? The first is that she withdraw this ad. This transphobic ad should not be polluting the airwaves in Ohio. The second thing is that she renounce her bigoted positions. And the third thing is that she apologized to the LGBTQ plus community. Okay, those three things I think are very reasonable requests from somebody who's been in Congress for decades, who's been largely supportive of queer people. If she can't do that, then she doesn't deserve to win again. She deserves to lose. Okay, so here's what we're going to do. We're going to call her. I'm going to put this graphic up on the screen and recommend that you share it as far and wide as you possibly can. Also, reach out to other independent content creators. ask them to participate in this pressure campaign because this is where we have to draw the [ __ ] line. So, I'm going to call her in a second, but uh her DC office number for those of you also looking to call, please do or email her. But her office number in DC is 20224146 and her Ohio office number is 4192597500. Please, if you live in Ohio in particular, call that Ohio office and let her know that she lost you forever. If she doesn't reverse course again, you don't have to actually stay home. In fact, please do vote, but at least let her think that you're going to use your vote as leverage because this is not acceptable. If we don't draw the line now, the entire party is going to be fully transphobic in like a year or two. Like, this is really going in a terrible direction. So, let me call her DC office. You know, you don't have to say everything that I'm saying, but just be polite. You're going to talk to a staffer if you talk to anybody at all. But uh you know just say what I what I say or say your own thing. It doesn't really matter. Just like be very clear. You want her to withdraw, renounce, and apologize. 202 225 4146. I need to like calm down cuz I'm so [ __ ] pissed off. I don't want to like scream at her. Please don't do that. If I do it, I'm I'm going to I'm not going to do that. Okay. But I'm f I'm so [ __ ] pissed, guys. Democrats are such spineless [ __ ] Let me shut the [ __ ] up and just call and try not to say anything like too offensive. >> This is Congresswoman Marcy Captor. Thank you for calling our Washington DC office and I'm sorry we missed your call. Our office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and your call is very important to me. So, please leave your name, number, and message after the tone. Thank you, and may you have an enjoyable day. >> Hello, Congresswoman Captor. I am outraged that you had the audacity to run an ad where you attack the LGBTQ plus community. This community has gone to bat for you. They've helped you get elected for decades. And for you to release an ad throwing trans people and queer people more broadly speaking under a bus is absolutely despicable. You deserve to lose your election because of this. And guess what? Democratic voters aren't going to continue to tolerate this this diet MAGA stuff. So here's what we are demanding your constituents and people across the country from the queer community. Here's what we're demanding. First of all, withdraw that disgusting ad. It shouldn't pollute the airwaves. Second of all, renounce your newfangled bigoted position. And third, apologize to members of the LGBTQ plus community that you offended. Because if you do not do that, then maybe they don't come to support you in this election. Okay? You're trying to get votes from Republicans by being a bigot, but you're going to lose more votes by being a bigot. So, shame on you. You are such a disgusting member of Congress to do something like that. I know you don't have any shame, otherwise you wouldn't have released that ad in the first place, but do what's right. Take down that disgusting ad. Renounce your bigoted position and apologize. I could have gone so much harder. I could have gone so much harder. I'm going to call her Ohio office, too, because I'm still pissed. And I just the fact that she did this, I mean, it's not surprising to me, but it's just like when does it end? When does it end? Like, is a is a Democrat going to do slurs in the next ad? I I just Okay. 4192597500. We're calling that office too. Hopefully I can talk to somebody. Probably not. But again, >> hi, this is Congresswoman Marcy Captor. Thank you. >> Of course not. Doesn't even ring. You've reached us after hours and no one is available to take your call at this moment. The office is open daily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p p.m. If you need assistance with an agency of the federal government and would like us to return your call, kindly leave your name, address, and telephone number along with information about the nature of your call when you hear the tone and we will call you back. Many callers wish to leave an opinion about an issue before Congress. You may do that here also by leaving a message with your opinion along with your name, address, and telephone number so that we may properly address your concerns. Thank you so much for calling me. It's an honor to serve you and your family and our district in the United States House of Represent. >> Hi, Congresswoman Marcy Captor. Uh, I'm calling again. And I called your DC office, but I'm calling your Ohio office as well because I really want to make sure that you know how angered the LGBTQ plus community is by your loathome, transphobic, and homophobic ad that you released. Okay? So, we're asking that you withdraw that ad. It is a disgusting, bigoted ad. Renounce your position and apologize for the harm that you caused and the offense that you caused to your queer constituents and queer people across the country. We have supported you and the Democratic Party for decades. And for you to throw us under a bus is a slap in the face. If you're going to tell me that my trans family members lives don't matter and you're willing to use them as political pawns, then guess what? You're not going to get our support. No more donations, no more phone banking, and no more votes. You will lose to the Republican if you want to be the Republican. So make your choice and choose wisely and act quickly because we will not support you. You will lose this election if you do not abandon course right now. Stop with the transphobia or lose. Well, that's all I have to say. Uh again, 202254146, that's her DC office. 4192597500, that's her Ohio office. Um be polite, perhaps more polite than I was, especially if you talk to somebody. and please just let her know that this is not acceptable. Remember the three demands, withdraw the ad, renounce your position, and apologize. I don't think that's an unreasonable request. I really don't. I think that's pretty reasonable, actually. Um, I might even put a link to a petition in in the u comment section. I feel like that's cringeworthy and useless, but I just want to quantify the outrage so that way they have some measure of, oh, well, a thousand people signed this petition. something so that way she knows we're done. We're no longer going to accept this. Democrats aren't going to go full transphobe, too. You've already supported a genocide. You've thrown immigrants under a bus. Where do we draw the line? Like, we've got to draw the line somewhere. And I think this is a very good place to do it before it's too late. So, please take action. If you don't want to call, email her. But I implore you to call. Also, share this far and wide. We've got to make as much noise as possible because if we don't, we're gonna lose on this issue, too. So, that's all I have to say. I'm still [ __ ] pissed. This really ruined my day and actually kind of caused me to be a little bit depressed. But, let's do something about it. If you're as pissed as I am and as disappointed as I am, let's do something about it.
