Video summary
The creator of this video addresses a recent pause in long-form content production by explaining their decision to shift focus toward short-form videos on platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts. They describe feeling a bit of a "midlife crisis" regarding social media pressure, noting that their current schedule is too fluid to consistently film the extensive footage required for traditional 10 to 30-minute vlogs. Consequently, they have adopted a more relaxed approach where they only create content when they genuinely feel like it, rather than scrambling to meet arbitrary deadlines or forcing themselves to produce videos when they lack ideas. This change allows them to maintain their creative outlet without the stress of needing to generate specific types of content every week.
Despite this shift in format, the creator emphasizes that they are not quitting YouTube but are instead evolving their strategy to better suit their current lifestyle and interests. They express a strong love for their camera equipment, specifically praising the DJI Osmo 3 for its ability to film vertically, which makes it perfect for their new short-form content style. While they acknowledge that editing on a computer with software like Final Cut Pro is something they are skilled at, they find that editing directly on their phone using apps like CapCut is significantly faster and more convenient. This workflow allows them to import footage, splice clips, and upload videos immediately after filming, making the process much more enjoyable and sustainable for someone who does not rely on content creation for income.
The underlying motivation for this transition is a desire to prioritize fun and authenticity over audience size or commercial pressure. The creator openly admits that their small community of viewers, which may only number in the hundreds, is sufficient because they create primarily for themselves and the joy of sharing their life with friends and family. They clarify that while they do collaborate with brands occasionally, they are not a full-time influencer and prefer to describe themselves as a "cosplayer" who enjoys the creative process without breaking their back for a large audience. This philosophy extends to their future plans, where they intend to still produce long-form vlogs during special occasions like holidays or family gatherings, but otherwise remain flexible with their output based on what feels right in the moment.
Ultimately, the video serves as a reassuring update to subscribers, confirming that the channel is far from goodbye but rather entering a new phase of "hello" with a different format. The creator invites viewers to join them on this journey of having fun and being creative without pressure, whether through quick TikToks or occasional long-form updates. They encourage the audience to stay connected across various platforms like Instagram and TikTok while reminding them that the goal is simply to share vibes and experiences. By removing the obligation to produce constant high-volume content, the creator hopes to return to a space where they can genuinely enjoy filming and editing, ensuring that whatever content they do post remains authentic and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Hi guys, welcome back to my channel.
Today's video is just going to be like a
little sit in the car chat with me. I
have not filmed a video or a vlog in
quite some time because I feel like I'm
going through like a midlife crisis on
like with social media because I just
want to just do this for fun and like
not feel the pressure of like filming
all the time. And basically with like
work and stuff, I get off some days that
I typically probably wouldn't be off
because like my schedule's just so
fluid. So basically, I just sometimes I
have days off, but I only film like 30
seconds worth of footage because I don't
do that much throughout the day, nor do
I have a lot to talk about. So I don't
have enough footage for a full YouTube
video, but I just wanted to come on here
and update you guys about like what I'm
planning on doing and like my game plan
and like regrouping here and to touch
base with you all, but I am going to
start transitioning more to like
short-form content because I'm doing
things, but I don't want to necessarily
like narrate or like have like a really
long clip of like whatever I'm doing. So
with that being said, you guys are still
going to get content because I'm still
going to post everything that I post on
the other platforms, whatever it may be,
onto YouTube shorts. So like I'm still
going to be creating content. Like I
want to be creating content and like
having fun. I don't want to have to be
like, "Oh, I need to get a YouTube video
up this week because
I don't have anything." And then like
scrambling like I figure out what to do
and like what friends are available so I
can like film this and then like some of
my friends like can't be on camera. I
just
don't want to have the pressure of like
having
a 10
to like 15 to 20 to 30-minute video
because like I just can't produce that
right now in my life and I don't want
the pressure of that. So, yeah, we're
going to transition over and just have
fun on TikTok and stuff. I love filming
on my phone. I just can whip this out
and then like film. I can also still use
this camera. I love this camera, by the
way. I I still stick by what I've been
saying about the DJI Osmo 3. Love it. I
can still use this if I wanted to
because it can film vertical. It's still
going to be so great. But, anyway,
with all that being said, no, I'm not
going to be quitting YouTube because
YouTube is like I've always loved
YouTube. It's just with everything and
like social media kind of changing, like
I'm just going to
focus more on something else for a
little bit cuz why not? Cuz I can. I
don't depend on this for income. I do
this solely because I love to do it and
I love to like build an online community
even if it's only like 150 people. It's
great. Um, whether it's like my family
or like my friends who watch this. So,
basically what I'm trying to get at is
if I want to vlog, if I want a long-form
content day, I'm going to do that. If I
just want to film a TikTok, I'm going to
do that.
Cuz that's like where I'm at now with
social media. Obviously, for like
holidays and when my family gets
together, like Christmas, Thanksgiving,
um, just various times, a birthdays,
it's going to be a long-form content,
um, vlog. I mean, well, then again, it
might not because I did just I did a
little birthday YouTube short TikTok for
my uncle's birthday because like on the
spur of the moment, I'm like, I want to
film some some stuff. Like, I'm going to
let's get some clips. So,
yeah, I don't know. But, definitely for
like Christmas and throughout like the
holiday season, like Vlogmas is so much
fun. So, I'm definitely going to be like
still making videos. It's not like
goodbye. It's just like
hello in a new form, a new format.
Wanted to just like touch base with you
guys and kind of just
chit-chat with you about what's been
going on because I haven't like been
posting that frequently
on
the channel and stuff. And
like, I don't know. Editing on my phone
as well is just so much faster than like
importing this footage on a computer and
like doing my video like editing my
videos on Final Cut. Even though, I will
say I do pride myself, I'm a very fast
editor. Like,
I don't I don't take a million years. I
mean, I'm definitely like not a slow
editor. It's just finding the time to
edit because like I don't feel like
editing. But, with the short-form
content sort of thing, everything's
already on my phone. I just import it
into CapCut and then splice and dice
on my phone and then I can upload super
fast. So, that's another reason why I
think going to that form of content is
just better suited for my life right
now.
Um but, I will never like stop creating
content because like I like it. Another
reason why too, like I just want to take
it easy and just have fun because I'm
not doing it this for anyone else
because like let's be let's In all
reality, like three people watch my
stuff. Like, I'm not going to break my
back like trying to get stuff up for
like not a large audience because, you
know,
I mainly do this for me, honestly,
because yeah. Anyway, side story, today
at Pilates,
um
this girl is like, "Oh, do you like do
social media? Are you like an influencer
or like content creator?" And I'm like,
"Yeah, I'm a cosplayer of one." Because
I'm like, "Well, no. I I do work with
some brands and some companies like uh
for products. But, yeah, we'll just say
I'm a cosplayer, all right? Because I am
not doing this full-time at all. I just
have fun with it. Anyway, I feel like
I've rambled on way too long, but I hope
you guys like understand where I'm
coming from and still enjoy whatever I
post. If not, that's totally fine
because again, we're just here for the
vibes. We're here to have fun, be
creative, share like what I'm doing,
where I'm going, and yeah, no pressure.
But anyway, give this video a thumbs up.
Don't forget to subscribe to my channel
because I'm still going to be posting on
YouTube shorts, and follow me on TikTalk
if you want to, and Instagram, and um
yeah, I will see you in my next video,
wherever that may be. Bye.
