Video summary
The video discusses the anticipated changes to racial abilities in the upcoming "World of Warcraft Forever" and "Classic Plus" expansions, noting that Blizzard has shifted from balancing racials down to making them significantly stronger across the board. Historically, players felt forced into specific race-class combinations due to overpowered or underpowered abilities, but the new design philosophy appears to be intentionally creating a scenario where every race possesses powerful tools. The host expresses concern that while having strong racials individually might seem fair, making *everything* overpowered could lead to unbalanced gameplay dynamics, particularly in PvP and high-level PvE content, potentially causing issues similar to those seen in previous seasons like Season of Discovery.
A major mechanical change highlighted is the conversion of weapon skill bonuses into critical strike chance for spellcasters using one-handed weapons, such as humans gaining a 2% increase to spell and ability crit. This change fundamentally alters the viability of certain classes, forcing them to use swords to access these bonuses and effectively pigeonholing casters like mages or warlocks into specific weapon choices. The host also details various other adjustments, including the removal of resistance racials in favor of crit conversions, and notes that while some abilities like "Will to Survive" for humans are excellent for PvP by removing stuns, others like the Gnome's mana cost reduction scale differently than flat stat increases, becoming less valuable as a player's gear improves.
The analysis identifies specific race-class combinations that appear particularly broken or dominant in the current beta state. The Undead Paladin is singled out as potentially unstoppable due to the combination of "Will of the Forsaken," which now breaks charms and fears instantly rather than providing immunity, and "Cannibalize," which restores both health and mana rapidly. Similarly, Trolls are deemed incredibly strong due to their "Rapid Regen" ability, which functions like a second bandage on a three-minute cooldown, coupled with increased attack speed and damage bonuses that scale well with gear. The host also highlights the Gnome as the most overpowered race overall, especially for Priests, whose new racial abilities include massive mana cost reductions, significant damage boosts on the next few spells, and powerful defensive shields that could make them nearly impossible to kill in solo play or duels.
In conclusion, the video posits that while races like Orcs and Night Elves remain solid choices with useful PvP tools like stun reduction or fear immunity, they do not reach the same level of dominance as the top contenders. The host predicts a clear tier system emerging where Gnomes sit alone at the very top due to their unique scaling abilities that benefit all classes, followed closely by Undead and Trolls who possess powerful sustain and crowd control tools. Ultimately, the host warns that these drastic changes might require significant nerfs in future patches, as the current balance seems to favor specific races so heavily that it could disrupt the intended variety of character builds available to players in the new expansion.

As fan, what are your thoughts on the
strongest race? I I actually I so I I
think that's a great question. I've
taken a look at the racials in WoW
Forever and Classic Plus. I think it's
actually interesting because they've
changed quite a bit. I mean,
historically, a lot of times people talk
about the racials in WoW as something
that is just too strong and people don't
really like that racials dictate too
much of like what you have to do. Now,
[music] in my opinion, this is just me,
you know, seeing what I saw at Blizzcon
and uh just seeing it at face value
without actually having played yet,
without actually having played the beta
yet and really gotten deep deep into it
and just kind of seeing whatever we saw
in demos. I think the racials are too
strong. They seem way stronger than they
were before. It's kind of crazy that
Blizzard went the other direction with
it, going the opposite direction than
what a lot of people expected, which was
maybe let's go ahead and tune some
things down and kind of balance some
things out with the rats. What I want to
do is I want to go over what some of the
best race class combinations seem to be
as we're getting into this WoW Forever
beta, this classic plus beta. Let's
check it out. So, first things first,
but before I get into that, I want to
talk about a few things, things that
actually changed. As you can see, I'm
using this website here to kind of look
at like the different racials and stuff.
Uh, it's all kind of documented here. I
want to [music] bullet point some
things. I want to note some things. And
let's just start with the humans. I'm
just going to go with the humans for one
example. This is my classic era
character, my vanilla character. So, as
you can see, humans have will to survive
and perception. Will to survive is it's
every man for himself. Every man is a it
basically removes stuns. It's something
that was added in Wrath of the Lich
King. They decided to give it to humans
in Classic Plus. Perception is the
vanilla version of Perception, which is
an active where you can detect stealth
enemies for 20 seconds. Then you have
two passives. So, you have two activives
and you have two passives. Sword [music]
spec increase spell and ability critical
chance by 2% and then the human spirit
where your spirit is increased by 5%. So
this is a little bit different than
classic than vanilla where what you had
was you had one active my one active
being perception and then my racial
passive was I had may spec and swordspec
the human spirit which we had and then
um diplomacy where you get 10% more
reputation gains. So, a little bit
different. I believe everybody has two
activives and two passives now. As you
can see as I run through this. So, let's
go and mark this down. So, things that
changed, two activives and two passives
for everyone. You had a lot of racials
that, you know, dwarf had like cold
resistance. No more resistance racials,
weapon skill ratials
converted to crit. For example, humans
uh instead of having plus five oh and
classic skilla swords and two increased
by five. They also gave dwarves mave
spec now. They used to give human had
this but for some reason it was 2%.
[music] They have 2% everybody else has
1%. I don't know why. Now I think the
philosophy that Blizzard took with this
a lot of people saw racials in classic
and and historically in WoW racials have
been kind of unbalanced. People feel
pigeon holed into playing a certain race
to play a certain class. [music]
So, I think what they tried to do here
was, okay, well, if the things were
overpowered before, why don't we just
try and make everything overpowered and
see what happens. I think that this
probably will backfire. I think if
everybody has something that's a little
bit overpowered, then it's good. But if
everybody has everything overpowered,
then I think it snowballs out of control
[music] and you kind of get what you
ended up having in Season Discovery when
it comes to like PvP and stuff like
that. That is just my my assumption.
That is my hypothesis. We'll see how it
plays out in the beta and hopefully they
adjust accordingly. If it's fine, then
hell, you know, let the kids play. But
if it's not fine, then I would like to
see them kind of work on that. The key
things like weapon skill ratios
converted to crit. Let's talk a little
bit about weapon skill and what weapon
skill did. Weapon skill was something
that was a little bit complicated and it
was like a secret OP stat that was
really hard to gain. And I'm kind of
giving the layman just like kind of
surface level explanation because you
know clearly they're trying to move away
from this a little bit where weapon
skill what it would do weapon skill what
it does is so the way your damage is
calculated the way the attack table
works is you're looking at your weapon
skill whenever you swing at somebody
versus the target's defense. [music] And
whenever there's a disparity between
this there's a let's say let's say they
have a lot of defense they're higher
level than you and you're hitting them
then you have a chance of getting a
glancing blow. And when you have a
glancing blow, it's not exactly like
this, but think of it as a negative
crit, like a reverse crit. You know,
it's not actually half your damage
necessarily. It could be more, it could
be less, but there's a lot of different
parts to this, right? It also increases
your chance to miss versus their defense
rating. This is all kind of factored in
when it comes to working through the
attack table and all the nitty-gritty
type of stuff. We're not going to go
into all those details right now. That's
what it was before. It's confusing. It's
really, really strong. It's a weird
thing, especially for PvE. In PvP, it's
not as big of a deal, but it does
matter. A lot of people think it doesn't
matter at all. It does matter, but very
little. Moving on, replacing that with
crit just globally, I think, gives you a
little bit of a different kind of value.
Uh, especially if it's spell and ability
crit chance, because for something like
a human now, you're pigeonhold into
always using a sword. Whether you're a
mage, whether you're a paladin, whether
you're a rogue, I mean, you're losing
two crit by not using a sword is kind of
insane. I think that's a bad idea. I
personally don't like this, but you
shouldn't you shouldn't be pigeonholed.
It's kind of it kind of defeats the
purpose. You know, this was the whole
problem in the past. Let's talk about
what race class combinations I think are
going to be particularly strong and fun
to play come classic plus come Wow
forever. First one I want to talk about
actually we could just go down the list
uh and say like, okay, human. What can a
human do? A human can be a warrior, a
hunter. Wait, human can be a hunter? Did
I miss that whenever I was going through
all the races? Humans can be hunters
now. Oh, I I missed that. I thought I
Oh, okay. I went through and I tried to
look at everything, but I must have
missed it.
>> Thanks again for your Blisscon coverage,
bro. It was a blast. Oh, duo have your
badge.
>> I do have my badge. Chat, let's see
those badges. All right, if you don't
have your badge, get a sub badge in
chat. What are these talents
particularly good for? Will the survive
as a I mean, that's great for PvP in
general, you know, being able to remove
remove stuns. Perception is another good
one for PvP as like an active. Sword
spec is going to be good for PvP and PvE
because it's just more damage outright.
And then human spirit. Spirit's not
really a stat that's it's not as bad as
people think it is, but it's only
particularly good for certain classes.
Priest has a lot of spirit stuff that
they want. That's that's mostly it,
right? And then there's also
pre-specific racial abilities and we can
we can dig into those a little bit too.
When you look at the options for human,
human can be most classes pretty much. I
mean, they can be everything except for
druid and shaman. Because of this,
having things that are pretty neutral
that affect everything is not a really
it's not really a bad idea, especially
now that this 2% crit is also for your
spells. So, let's say you're a mage and
you're using a one hand one hand sword
and you're going sword offhand or a
warlock sword offhand, you're getting 2%
more spell crit. Now, what this hurts is
this hurts the priest cuz priests can't
use swords, but everything else can.
Pretty nice, right? I don't know if
human is the best for any one particular
thing. You could probably make a pretty
strong argument just because the 2% crit
that it's just best for DPS outright for
all of them. For a warrior DPS, for
paladin DPS, for a hunter, for a rogue,
whatever it is, every DPS, they can use
a sword. There's probably a pretty
strong argument you can make that that
2% crit goes a long, long way. The rest
of the stuff doesn't really like help in
PvE. Well, the survive is really nice in
PvP if you don't want to use a PvP
trinket. But if we compare this to the
other stuff, like a dwarf has 1% crit
from mace. Night elf, they have an
active that increases their crit chance
by 10% for 15 seconds. Pretty cool.
Gnome reduced cost. I think they said it
was 50% reduced mana cost and 10%
increased damage and healing on your
next three spells and abilities. That's
kind of crazy. And as a passive, your
maximum mana, rage, or energy increased
by 5%. So you you couple this let's say
energy coupled with the vigor talent. I
mean and there's going to be other stuff
that increase your energy values. I
think gnome might end up being kind of
crazy. I think gnomes might end up being
kind of nuts. I think gnome will likely
get nerfed cuz they have a passive that
scales with gear whereas you take these
crit chance ratios. And these crit
chance ratios they actually get nerfed
as you get gear. If you are a uh like if
you have 5% crit, let's say you have
base crit, 2% is a lot. But let's say
you're like end game and you have like
30%, you're fully buffed up and you have
all your consumes, everything, and
you're like 35% crit or something. Well,
that 2% means a lot less than whenever
you had 5%. So, this ratio actually
scales downward, whereas this goes
upward cuz you're going to do more with
more energy. You're going to do more
with more mana. You'll do more with more
rage on top of getting more gear, but
then also with your talents and maybe
some other set bonuses or other items
that maybe increase your total amount of
energy or rage or something. This is
scaling with gear, increased damage,
scaling on your next three abilities.
These are all things that scale. Night
elfoon's light is cool, but there's a
chance that over, you know, that 15
seconds, 10% more chance to crit. You
could just not crit at all or you could
get crits, but maybe those crits would
have been crits anyway if your crit
chance is high enough. So, this is also
a this is a racial. This is an active
that scales down the more gear you get.
These are all kinds of things to
consider, I think, with like how how the
different rats work late game versus
versus uh early game of like building
out your character and everything like
that. As I was saying, these are all
kinds of things to consider. And I was
showing the alliance ones, but the the
horde has the same thing, right? Orcs
have an axe spec [music] for 1%. Now,
trolls, they have increased casting and
attack speed by 10% for 10 seconds.
That's something that scales up with
gear. They have regen 50% of your
maximum health over time. Insane. That
is that is something that scales up with
gear the more stamina you get. Damage to
beasts increased by 5%. That's something
that scales up with gear. Regen 10% of
your health regen continues during
combat. This is something that would
also scale up with gear. So trolls are
scaling like across the board. Torin
they have their war stomp classic
ability you know PvP just boom big war
stomp stun everybody around you for two
seconds. Cultivation is an interesting
passive. Oh, wait. This is actually kind
of interesting. So, torren only have one
active as opposed to two activives, two
passives. They have cultivation grow
bonus herbs that don't require herbalism
to gather. I think the torren are really
like RP ratios. They have more health,
more hit chance with endurance, planes
running where if you if you're
constantly running that you have like a
buildup of speed up to 30%. They can
find herbs that you don't need herbalism
to gather. War Stomp. Like this is a
very roleplay ccentric list of racial
abilities. Undead,
Will of the Forsaken. It removes charm,
fear, and sleep. So what this did in
vanilla, a lot of people are like,
"Wait, didn't that do the same thing in
vanilla?" Cuz they talked about nerfing
it. Originally, it gave you 5 seconds of
immunity. So it would break and it would
give you 5 seconds of immunity. Now it's
just a break, which is technically, you
know, it's a nerf. Still really good.
Charm, fear, and sleep versus like a
stun for Willow. Will will survive. Next
you have cannibalize which got buffed to
give you health and mana. I think it
used to only give you health when
activated 7% of total health every two
seconds for 10 seconds. Seven number two
seven times five. Okay, so that's like
the same but now it gives mana.
Underwater breathing is the same. Touch
of the grave is new. Your attacks
sometimes drain health from the target
healing you. So what it actually does,
it's a 5% chance to do up to 5% of your
maximum health and damage as a life
steal. That's kind of crazy. I don't
know if it has an internal cooldown.
This thing is I mean to me that sounds
insane. Like an undead paladin will of
the forsaken and this cannibalize as
well while you're leveling. I mean
undead paladin sounds freaking broken. I
feel like the internal cooldown I like
if there's not an internal cooldown then
undead is going to be so strong that
people are just I really want to go back
and play human but man I've I've bit the
apple. I've tasted sin. Okay. I played a
blood elf paladin in in Burning Crusade
and man, let me tell you, when you when
you go to play for the racials, it comp
it it like unlocks your class, man. PvP
this time around with u arcane torrent
and being able to AoE silence people, it
makes such a massive impact. It's it it
was so much better than playing human
last time around. You proed it twice
during DS of Blizzcon. Didn't seem like
an ICD. Did it Did it proc twice on the
same ability? Cuz I didn't I didn't
notice that. I was like looking for it
and I didn't see that uh on the same
swing it procked twice. If there's no
internal cooldown and it procs twice on
the same swing, then I I don't see how
you could not play an undead paladin.
Not the same swing, but within a few
seconds. Well, I think if there's at
least a one second internal cool down,
then then it's okay. Do we know if it
procs on dot ticks? Uh, I don't know. If
it procs on dot ticks, I think it would
only proc on the cast because why would
it proc on dot ticks and like how
reckoning works in Burning Crusade, it
doesn't proc on or sorry, on dot ticks.
Undead rogue will be broken if it has a
one second internal cool down. Maybe it
procs on ticks and holy shield. It's so
OP for prop paladin. No shot. Did they
really see it procing holy shield? Yeah,
dots. Oh my god. Like why do they do
this to us, man? Like like undeid
paladin is going to be so much stronger,
dude. Changes could be made. I know. I
know. I know. But my thing is like why
don't they have the foresight of seeing
this? Like how broken this is going to
be. Can it prog on red aura? Okay,
that'd be insane. Rogue is broken with
troll blind gouch whatever and then just
bandage with the with the rapid regen.
Yeah, some of these [laughter]
dude blind rapid regen bandage is a full
heal. Like you said, if it wasn't
broken, there would be nothing to do a
beta about. True, true. That is
absolutely right, dude. Just think about
all Dude, think about all the crazy
racial options right now. Let's write
these down. Craziest
race class combos. Undead Paladin. I
hate that I'm saying this, dude. It's
I'm gonna get so triggered by this.
Seeing freaking undead paladins run just
freaking littered all over the freaking
Azeroth.
Disgusting, baby. Disgusting.
Disgusting.
I'm not going to rank them yet. I'm not
going to rank them. I'm just going to
put them in. Undead with with Touch of
the Grave with the the [music] breaking
the charm fear of sleep. Cannibalize is
great. And just, you know, while you're
leveling and stuff, right? Underwater
breathing is cool. All these are great.
The next one, dude, troll 50% like
troll. What? The 50% regen on a 3minut
cool down. Berserking is great. You have
10% more attack and casting speed, but
man, that regen
troll warlock troll rogue. Troll hunter.
He traps you and gets full health. Frost
trap, freezing trap, whatever. You're in
a block of ice. Rapid regen bandage.
Full health. Mage, polymorph, rapid
regen, bandage,
just troll. Maybe just troll just in
general. I think that that looks broken.
The rapid regen is crazy. Troll warrior,
dude. Troll warrior. Intimidating shout.
You fear them.
Rapid regen bandage.
Priest
rapid regen with all the other healing.
Shaman, rapid regen with everything
else. Oh my gosh. Undead Paladin bubble
cannibalize.
Are you kidding me? You're about to die
and you just bubble and
This is going to be so funny. Dude, you
need a corpse. There will always be
corpses in my wake as a paladin of the
light. [music] Okay, I will kill them
all. There will always be a corpse. This
entire city must be cold. Orc, Blood,
Fury, increase attack power and spell
power by 10% for 15 seconds. I think
that's a pretty strong ratio, but I
don't think it's overpowered. Shatter
Curse, immunity to curses and baines,
and reduce magical damage taken for
eight seconds. Now, what is a Bane? Do
we know what a Bane is? Oh, Bane is just
like curse of agony. Why have I never
heard it called a Bane before? Or is
that is that just new? Oh, they split
warlock curses into banees and curses.
So, a curses Oh, yeah. Let's just go
ahead and Yeah. Hey, warlocks weren't
good enough already. Let's just make
them put two curses on everybody.
Freick. Oh, AND NOW THEY CAN CRIT. I'm
getting I'm getting pissed, dude.
Unbelievable.
Suck it, Paladin. Frick. Unbelievable,
dude. These heathens. Uh, orc, you know,
stun duration decrease. This is This is
something that existed before. It was
like chance to resist stun, but they
made it stun duration decrease. This is
good. Orcs are always going to be a good
PvP class, bro.
That means you can always have curse of
tongues on a caster. That means you can
always have curse of exhaustion on a
melee. Like, where where is like the
thinking? Like, where's the decision-m?
You just [snorts]
[laughter]
All right. I don't think Torren is going
to be I don't think Torren is going to
be overpowered. Uh, does planes running
only work out of combat? Planes running.
Yeah, then I I think in that case I
think torren is actually not going to be
that great. I mean you get worse stomp
and it's like more health. They should
make planes running work in combat. If
planes running worked in combat it might
be broken. Torren is a bot race actually
dude it might be. Dude, all the freaking
bots just running at full speed. Torren
hunters just freaking bots lay waste to
all the bots, dude. Just freaking banan
all of them. The hit chance. Yeah, but
you can you can make up this hit chance
with gear. If planes running worked in
combat, would it be too overpowered? I
think it probably would. I think if they
reduce the value, I say too overpowered.
Look at how good everybody else is. I
think at that point, you might as well
make it like if it's 30% normally, make
it 15%. Or like 20%. Or you know what
they should do? They should make it 15%
in combat, but it stacks with movement
speed effects. So if I have boots, if I
if I have boots enchant 8% speed, it
gets cut in half in combat, but it
stacks with that 8%. Or it scales with
it, however. Wait, it does. Do we know
for sure if planes running works in
combat or not? Oh my gosh. Druid. It
does. I played druid at the demo. Oh my
gosh. Wait, hold on. Okay. Okay. Vulpic.
Druid. Torren planes running. Did it
work in travel form? Oh, it does not
stack in travel form. Okay. Okay. They
should make it work only in human form.
In torren form and it and it works in
combat. It does work in bear though. You
lose stacks if you take damage. Yeah, I
think that's fine. But that way if
you're getting kited and you're not
getting hit, then you have a chance to
catch up. That's what I think they
should do. So, Torren, Torren is ass.
Troll in general. Troll everything I
think is going to be crazy. Troll
warriors are going to be crazy. Troll
hunters, troll mage, troll rogue, troll
priest, troll rox, troll sh, they're all
going to be good. Berserking 10% more
attack and casting speed. Everything is
going to be good for troll. Trolls are
going to be insane. Undead paladin is
also going to be really strong. I think
troll might end up being like the for
horde. Orc is pretty good, but there's
nothing that really just stands out as
like this is going to be totally broken
for this class because I I don't think
just a little bit more damage, a little
bit more damage is not that big of a
deal. I think it's mostly stuff that
like you can't do anything about. I do
think the shatter curse is going to be
really nice for PvP, but I don't know
how for particularly any class it's
going to be really good. Axe increasing
spell and ability crit. It's kind of
funny cuz there's not going to be any
spell axes, I don't think. Uh, for
warrior, it's gonna be pretty decent for
warrior. I think for warrior, for
hunter, but it's not going to be
anything crazy. I think the best warrior
is probably, you could make an argument
that it's that it's going to be orc.
Torren are going to be I mean for
tanking maybe for hit chance cuz this is
also going to be your chance to hit your
taunt as well. Troll, I mean, dude, a
troll warrior for a tank. I mean, that
big heal that might be better than 5%.
And health region continuing combat like
that. I mean, and the 10% more attack
speed. I think 10% more attack speed
scales harder than a little bit more
attack power. Oh, do we know if it's a
channel? Is it a channel or an instant
cast? Ah, it is a channel. So, you can't
channel it and bandage at the same time
is what that means. Okay, so that's not
nearly as broken. Okay, that's not
nearly as bad. Troll sucks. No, I still
think troll is crazy because it's not
nearly as good as what I thought, but
you basically get two bandages every 3
minutes cuz you get your normal bandage
and then you get this bandage. It's
still going to be really good. Okay, so
troll is not going to be quite quite as
crazy, but I do think like I do think
troll is going to be really strong, man.
I I think I still think it's going to be
strong. I don't think it's going to be
as as insane, but I think it's still
going to be good. Troll had 20% regen in
combat on turtle. Wow. It was busted
with spirit. Yeah, I think it's probably
it's probably going to be a lot. Now, if
we look at skyorn damage to elementals
increased by 5%. These guys are going to
be the the kings of molten core.
Elemental blessing to increase run speed
by 10%. Glide downward through the air
for 10 seconds. These guys have a slow
fall. Activate a lay line to gain 100%
increase mana and health regen. I don't
think the skyorn rats are that good. 1%
more haste is kind of like whatever
passive. I don't think the skyborn is
going to be that crazy, which is good
because then then people would be
complaining about pay to win and stuff,
but I think skyboard is not even that
great. If we go back to night elfoons
light increase crit chance by 10% for 15
seconds. This is really valuable at
lower levels of gear, but once you get
more and more gear, this gets worse and
worse. Shadowmeld
gains stealth while immobile. Does this
work in combat? Did anybody test if this
works in combat? Is it a vanish, dude?
It gains value with gear or what, guys?
So, the more gear that you get, the more
crit chance that you get. Specifically,
10% crit chance becomes less valuable at
higher levels of crit. So, if you have a
50% chance to crit and then you gain 10%
crit,
that 10% increase is like that flat 10%
increased crit chance is a 20% increase.
If you have 5% chance to crit, which is
like baseline, and then you [music] pop
this 10% crit at 5% is a 200%.
10% of five. No, that's not how it
works. That's not how this in WoW.
That's not how this works in a WoW.
Every every time it's like this, it's
like a flat 10% crit chance increase.
Yeah, it's additive. This ratio gets
worse with the more crit that you get
because the percentage increase of
critical strike chance becomes less and
less with more critical strike chance.
Crit's kind of a weird stat in general
because like let's say increases crit
chance by 10%. Is it? There's
technically a chance that in that in
those 15 seconds every time that you
crit. Like I don't like an active crit
chance talent. I I don't like active
crit chance talents and I don't like
active crit chance abilities. Like I I
don't really like anything like this
because I might use the active and I
crit like three times during that period
of time. Technically, there's a chance
that those three crits would have been
crits anyway, regardless of whether it
was the a part of the plus 10 or not.
So, it's kind of like a weird ability. I
personally don't like them. Now, over
the course of like a large sample size
of like a 100 hits or whatever, then
yeah, like you'll get 10 more or
whatever. XCOM math, 75% is 5%. Exactly.
Yeah. You pop it and then you get no
crits is the other is the alternative,
you know, cuz it's just a chance. So,
we'll see. I mean, the more hits that
you have, the higher chance that you'll
get a value out of this because of just
law of averages, you know. So, something
like a 10% haste is something that is
definitely much more consistent. Now,
there's another world where you get the
10% and you're like crit crit crit crit
crit crit crit and every one of those
crits is part of the plus 10 as and for
as far as like the attack rules. [music]
So, I mean that's the other that's the
other side of it. It's just this is a
big gamble and loon's light is basically
just a big gamble. So, you but yeah, for
for different reasons you could say
berserking is better for some things.
This this is more this is better for
some things. Stone form. The dwarves
still have stone form. I immunity to
bleeds, poisons, diseases, and reduced
physical damage taken for eight seconds.
So, find treasure is not the same as
classic exactly. It looks like it's the
same. Find treasure is something that is
going to be active regardless of any
other tracking abilities that you have,
which is kind of cool for dwarves. Uh,
damage to beast increased by 5%. Mazes
increased spell and ability chance. I
think this is pretty bad for hunters cuz
you can't use a mace. But for priest, I
mean, you might use a mace, so you got a
little bit little bit more crit, right?
As far as things that specifically come
to mind. So, shadow melts working in
combat. I think a night elf rogue
getting an extra vanish with a 10 second
cool down. Does this drop combat for
you? It does not drop combat and it
doesn't really put you in stealth. It's
like a special. It's like a vanish that
doesn't give you It says gain stealth
but it's not actually stealth. It's Oh,
it becomes a two-minute cool down when
you use it in combat. So, it would drop
combat, right? Oh my gosh,
guys. You know what I just realized?
This would be insane for dropping your
threat. If you're raiding and you're
like climbing the threat meter and
you're doing a lot of damage and your
your threat caps, right, so you can't
really do as much damage. Shadowmeld
drop all your threat and then just start
attacking right away and you start at
the bottom of the threat meter. That's
crazy. If that's how it works, that
would be crazy. Oh, the threat is
restored after shadow meld. Okay, so it
doesn't actually drop combat. So it
works more like blessing of protection.
Okay, it takes you off the threat table
temporarily. Okay. Well, that that
that's not nearly as big of a deal. I
mean, this is still pretty nice because
let's say you pull aggro or like your
tank dies and you're second on threat
and then the back like the the off tank
is third on threat, then you can shadow
me then it'll it'll go hit the other
tank. So, this is still pretty good.
This is still pretty good. And actually,
it's very cool, but it's not it's not
overpowered. It's not overpowered, man.
Really, whenever I'm thinking about it,
there's there it's not too bad once you
really break it down. It's not too bad
for a lot of these. I think torren
probably need a buff. I think undead
troll and this is the big guy. Gnome.
Holy.
So what they did is they said escape
artist or sorry they said they said will
of the forsaken was too good before.
Gives you a 5-second immunity to charm
fear and sleep. So what they've
basically done is they've taken escape
artist and they gave escape artists the
will of the forsaken in vanilla
treatment. Now I don't know if it's for
5 seconds. Uh, do we know what the the
timer on this is?
>> 3 seconds.
>> Okay, that in and of itself is awesome.
They basically have a 3se secondond
blessing of freedom instant cast. Then
you have Eureka, which is crazy. Reduces
the cost, and they're saying I think
it's 50%. And 10% increased damage or
healing on your next three spells or
abilities. So 10% more damage outright
on your next three spells and abilities.
Like imagine you're a Pompyro mage with
half cost. Gnome rogue opener. I mean, a
gnome rogue. Couple that with expansive
mind, maximum mana rage or energy
increase, you could have way more
energy. And when we're talking about
energy break points, I talked about this
on classic ass today because there's no
ticks. Let's say you do something at 60
and then 50 energy. I'm just using
numbers. For example, you don't have to
wait for the whole tick. You got half a
tick. You know, you go 1 second instead
of 2 seconds for 20. You go 1 second for
10. And then you can cast that, right?
Well, now you have more energy to pull
and you have more to work with. So,
let's say you have vigor in the
assassination tree. You have maybe some
set bonus or something that gives you
more energy and now you have 5% increase
on that. Like that's big time. Gnome
arcane mage build up arcane blast blast
max stack. Eureka palm pyro boom. Yeah,
like gnome mage, gnome rogue, gnome
warrior. I mean, they're all good. Gnome
priest. I think most of all, the biggest
one, the biggest juicer right here,
Gnome Priest is going to be disgusting.
I think Gnome Priest is going to be so
absolutely gross. Confounding flash. AoE
blind confuses up to five enemies within
eight yards for 3 seconds. Any damage
taken will break the effect. AoE blind
into psychic scream. Contingency plan.
Place a holy ward on an ally. The next
time this ally takes damage, dropping
their health below 35%, they will gain a
shield absorbing
155 damage and begin healing for 300
health over 15 seconds. A target may be
affected by only one contingency plan.
Man,
troll can't heal with racial if you're
not standing. So yeah, yeah, I know we
we already figured that out. We figure
that out. I think contingency plan for
Gnome Priest is crazy. I mean, here's
the thing. Gnomes in general are super
super strong. They have engineering
specialization with more reliable
engineering devices. That's just kind of
cool. But let's take a look at some
other things. If we're taking a look at
the the priests, compare this to the
other priest ratios. I think gnome
priest is going to be disgusting. Night
elf star shards rain star shards down on
the enemy target's head causing 84
arcing damage over 6 seconds. I'm
assuming there was a big star shards
buff. There has to be because star
shards is stupid in in normal classic.
It's like not that great. Illoon's grace
increase reduces range damage taken by
21, increases chance of dodge by 10% for
15 seconds. So this is a 5m minute cool
down active which gives you 10% dodge
and reduces range damage taken. That's
kind of a weird one. Dwarf. Desperate
prayer. Same as before. Instantly heals
the caster. So it's like a it's a self
heal. Good for PvP. Chastise. Same as
before. chastise the target, causing 50
holy damage, immobilizing them for two
seconds. Only works against humanoids.
So, this is this is definitely for PvP.
I mean, I'm assuming they're going to
give everybody fear ward and dwarf
priest for PvP is going to be pretty
nice in that regard, like in terms of
like just being able to keep themselves
up, chastise to be able to kite enemies.
Uh, that's pretty good. Human priest,
the priest becomes surrounded with
anti-agic energy. any successful
spellcast against the priest will burn
18 of the attacker's mana causing one
shadow damage for each point of mana
burned. So like a mana burn on
spellcast. I don't think that's that's
probably not overpowered. I think that's
just cool. Divine grace instantly heals
a friendly target below 50% health for
220 257 and removes weakened soul from
that target. Can I Oh my gosh, that's
great. Instant heal that removes
weakened soul. So weakened soul is the
effect that you get on you whenever you
put a power word shield on somebody. So
you can go shield, the shield breaks and
then they still have weakened souls so
you can't put another shield on them.
Well, you go divine grace to heal them
and then you put another shield up.
That's nice. Yeah, that is nice. I mean,
even if it doesn't scale, I think it
will scale probably. I It'd be kind of
crazy if nothing scaled. Even if it
doesn't scale, that would be great. That
alone makes up for feedback. Yeah. And
you can't cast it on yourself. So, it
looks like human would be like great for
like uh PvE heals. These other guys kind
of have stuff to keep themselves alive
more than anything. If you go look at
the the horde, touch of weakness, the
next melee attack on the caster causes
shadow damage versus the damage caused
by the attacker for two minutes.
Devouring plague afflicts a target with
a disease that causes shadow damage over
24 seconds. Damage caused by the
devouring plague heals the caster. Okay.
Undead shadow priest. That's what this
is looking like right now. Dark
sacrifice cannibalize 532 of your own
health over 15 seconds to gain 440 mana.
So they have like a like a like a dark
rune. This there's no way this is
channelneled that's super long. Uh,
that's okay. Probably that's probably
decent. Like a decent little mana tap,
life tap. If we look at trolls, hex of
weakness. Okay, so this is something
they already have. Uh, they have this in
Burning Crusade where it's like a mortal
strike. It's a 20% mortal strike. Hex of
weakness. Shadow Guard. The caster is
surrounded by shadows. When a spell,
melee, or range attack hits the caster,
the attacker will be struck for 20
shadow damage. Attackers can only be
damaged once for a few seconds. This
damage causes no threat. Three charges
last 10 minutes. The attacker will be
struck for 20 shadow damage. Uh, three
charges last 10 minutes. It's just an
instant cast. Does touch of weakness
have a cool down? I mean, you have to
keep casting it. So, the difference
between shadow guard and touch of
weakness that you're really looking at
is this is on the next hit. It procs
touch of weakness. Shadow guard is for
the next three hits. So, this gives you
a little bit of time for you to take
three hits. I mean, you might have a guy
hit you shadow damage and you might have
the blackout talent. Okay? Okay, so if
we go if we go to priests and you go to
shadow and [music] you go blackout,
there's a 10% chance to stun the target
for 3 seconds. So there's a 10% chance
that they get a 3se secondond stun on
them, which kind of makes up for
chastise here. Now I think I think the
troll shadow guard is going to be
stronger than the undead touch of
weakness in that regard. I think gnome
priest is just broken. I I think gnome
priest is going to be the strongest. Uh
I think troll priest is going to be
pretty good. Yeah, to me it's definitely
gnomes. kind of the premise of what
we're talking about today and kind of to
tie it all up. If we are looking for the
most Let's grab our Let's grab our notes
back out here. Let's grab our notes back
out. Uh I think the craziest thing here
that we're looking at, I think gnomes in
general are probably just going to get
nerfed. I think gnomes are going to be
insane. We'll see in the beta whenever
you actually play them. I think undead
paladin is going to be crazy with Touch
of the Grave. Uh cannibalize is nice.
Will of the Forsaken is nice. I think
trolls. Rapid regen is nice. Berserking
is great. I think trolls are going to be
really good. I know rapid regen is a
channel. At first, we didn't realize it
was a channel, but that's like a second
bandage for half your health. So, if you
have like 4k health, that's as much as a
rune cloth bandage. A heavy rune cloth,
right? Isn't a heavy room cloth 2k 2k
bandage. Let me let me confirm that.
It's like you're getting a second
bandage depending on how much health you
have over 6 seconds. So, it's even
better, but it's on a 3minute cool down.
Um, so I think troll this would be
really good for dueling. I could see
trolls being really strong in duels just
in general. Really strong. I don't
really think anybody else stands out as
a huge outlier. So looking at everything
all things considered, looking at all
the races and everything and just kind
of looking at what what is the craziest
race right now, there's a lot of
different options. Undead is obviously
really good. Troll is also really good,
but man, I just think the gnomes I I
think the gnomes are insane. I think
there's especially gnome priest I think
is going to be absolutely wild. I think
it's crazy that gnome gnome racials are
so good to begin with but they also
arguably gave them the best priest
ratials too. So now they're just insane.
I mean just take one more look at this.
The escape artist 3 second blessing of
freedom basically. Eureka 10% more
damage for the next three spells and
it's at half cost. It's not even half
dude. Oh my gosh. Your rogue opener is
not just 10% more damage. It's half
energy cost,
half rage.
Wait, hold on.
Warrior execute,
will that make your If execute depletes
your rage,
If execute depletes your rage, is it
going to give you double the value, like
double the damage for the rage? Cuz it's
like 50. You know what I mean? It's
either going to cut your rage in half
and you get two executes or you get one
execute that does like double the rage
scaling and then 10% more damage. That
is going to be disgusting. I think gnome
I mean undead paladin is another one
that's going to be really good. I think
right now the three best races and like
by a significant margin. You kind of
have everybody else who's like kind of
eh kind of in this range right here.
Then you have undead and troller here
that's probably undead and troll are
probably the two that are kind of up
here. And then gnome is just like in its
own tier. The craziest race for sure is
going to be Gnome. Yeah, gnomes are
going to be insane. Undead is good.
Troll is good. Gnome's insane. And the
rest are just kind of like in the middle
there. But
wow, gnome warrior, gnome mage, gnome
rogue, gnome priest, gnome warlock.
Literally, every single one of them is
going to be crazy. They're all going to
be good. Thank you guys so much for
