Video summary
The video showcases the exciting new LEGO Pokémon sets that allow fans to officially become LEGO Pokémon trainers through interactive play. The unboxing reveals a massive Poké Ball-shaped container filled with various building pieces, including two halves of a LEGO Pokémon Stadium designed for battles. Inside, viewers are introduced to specific sets like the Charizard versus Jolton Ultimate Battle and Cubone and Gengar's Spooky Showdown, each featuring detailed minifigures and accessories such as healing sprays and Poké Balls. The host expresses immense excitement over the sheer number of Pokémon available to battle with and highlights the intricate design details that bring these characters to life in brick form.
A key feature emphasized throughout the video is the Smart Play system, which integrates digital elements into the physical LEGO experience using Smart Bricks and Smart Tags. In the Charizard set, a Smart Brick is included to interact with the figure's built-in tag, enabling sound effects like roaring, flying, and even healing sounds when virtual items are applied. The host demonstrates how these bricks can make Pokémon talk to each other or react to training commands, creating an immersive audio-visual experience. For sets that do not include a Smart Brick, such as the Cubone and Gengar set, the video explains that users can transfer a brick from another compatible set to activate the tags, ensuring all figures can still participate in the interactive gameplay.
Beyond the physical construction, the video introduces an online competition where builders can design their own custom berries using LEGO's digital building tool on kids.lego.com. Participants must sign into the LEGO Insiders Club and submit their creations via email for a chance to win special promotional tags. The host walks through the submission process step-by-step, highlighting how this digital component adds another layer of engagement for fans who want to nurture their own virtual Pokémon. Additionally, the video notes that while some sets lack Smart Bricks, they still offer rich storytelling opportunities through their unique tags and thematic designs, encouraging collectors to seek out all-in-one bundles for the full interactive experience.
The demonstration concludes with a simulated battle between Charizard and Gengar, where the host uses healing sprays and strategic commands to win the match, illustrating how players can engage in turn-based combat within the LEGO universe. The final scenes show the fully assembled training grounds, including mushroom lamps, bonsai trees, and treasure chests, all connected to form a cohesive play environment. Viewers are encouraged to visit the provided link to explore more about becoming a LEGO Pokémon trainer themselves, with the video ending on a high note of enthusiasm for the innovative blend of traditional building and modern digital interactivity that defines this new line of sets.

Did you know that you can actually
battle with the brand new LEGO Pokémon
set, which would make you an official
LEGO Pokémon trainer? But before we get
there, let's see what's inside this box.
Huge thanks to the LEGO Group for
sponsoring this video. [music] All
right, first let's just take a look at
the box. It's a giant Poké Ball. As you
can see, we have the Lego and Pokémon
logos on the bottom. And we open this up
just like this. [laughter]
Wa! This box looks insane. It says
you're the trainer now. Okay. And there
is something else inside of this box,
which is blowing my mind right now. If I
open this up, there looks to be a Lego
Pokemon Stadium. Here's one half of it.
And I'm going to connect it with the
other half. Keep this. Says make your
choice with a bunch of other Lego
Pokémon on here. This is cool. Look how
cool that is. Okay, that means there
should be something on the other side of
this box. And on here, we have some
other Lego Pokémon that you can take a
look at as well. Look at that. There's
so many Lego Pokémon to battle with. I'm
so excited. Okay, now let's connect
this, which is going to be the exact
spot where the Lego Pokémon are going to
battle. Okay, I just connected it. Wow,
just look at this. This is where the
Lego Pokémon are going to do their
battles. You can see the spots for it.
We have the cool Lego Poké Ball in the
center. This is really awesome. And I
love that they included that in the box.
Now, I know you've been looking at this
over here. This box we have to lift up
and see what's inside. And we're going
to find out what Lego sets we're going
to be building. I feel like everyone
watching is going to know before me.
Almost there. The first one is going to
be Charizard versus Jolon Ultimate
Battle. Look at that. Charizard and
Jolon right here. And the second one is
Cubone and Gengar's spooky showdown. I
love it because of the lore behind
Cubone. And then just look at Gengar.
Look at that. Look at the Lego Cubone
and Gengar. I can't wait to build this
one. All right. Well, let's first start
with our first set and let's open it up.
The Charizard versus Jolon Ultimate
Battle. Ooh. So, right off the bat,
there is already at the top two smart
bricks. And we'll dive into this a
little bit later in the video, but these
are what brings your Lego Pokémon to
life, which [music] is really cool. And
inside, we have bag four, bag three, bag
five, bag six. Wo, there's a lot of bags
in here. Bag seven, bag two, bag one.
Now, inside of this box over here, we
have another box. And it looks like
where you will charge your smart bricks.
And it comes with a USB to USBC where
you would be charging it. We have
another bag inside. Oh, Charizard wings
and a couple of other things in here.
Oh, this one's thick. What's this? All
right. Inside of that bag was our lovely
instruction manuals. One of the
instructions is for the smart brick.
Shows you exactly what to do. There's an
app for it. Oh, there's an app that you
can get. All right. I will be
downloading that app. Then we have three
different manuals. You have one with
Charizard over here. And it shows that
you need the bags 1 2 3 and four. So
we're going to grab that to build him.
The place where they battle. This is bag
number five. And Jolton is going to be
bag number six and seven.
[laughter] Let's go in order and build
Charizard with bags 1 2 3 and four. And
I'm just going to quickly go through
these instructions and we'll see
Charizard once he's done. And then
inside this bag there's two mini bags.
It's always the most fun part is getting
all similar pieces together, arranging
them so it's much easier to build.
We got a Pokéball.
So, we got the Lego Pokéball done and
the Lego healing spray. Now, while the
other me is building that Lego set, I
want to talk to you about a huge thing
happening, which is the berry
competition. Now, berries and Pokémon
are really important because the job of
berries is to heal your Pokémon or
nurture them. And this digital
competition is to create your own Lego
Pokemon berry. Here's how to do it. You
want to go to kids.lego.com.
And once you're there, you can hit the
search button at the bottom here and
just type in Pokémon. Once you see
Pokémon, you can select Pokémon and the
competition is going to be right here.
There are three specific steps that you
need to do. First one is sign into Lego
Insiders Club. Step two, you're going to
build a berry that your Pokémon will
love with the digital building tool. And
by the way, the prize is a special
Oruron Berry promo [music] tag. So, this
is pretty cool. I definitely want to
enter this myself. So, once you're in
step two, here we go. We're going to
build. And I'm actually going to build
my own right now. So, here we go. Uh,
let's see. How are we going to build
this?
All right. I think I've made my berry.
So, once you create your berry, all you
have to do is then hit done, submit, and
then what you're going to do is enter a
grown-up's email address right over
here, which I'm going to enter mine. And
once you fill out your email, all you
have to do is just hit send. And just
like that, you'll get a confirmation
email telling you about the submission
for the berry. And all you have to do is
then click submit competition, which
will bring you back to the page and it
will say your child is in the
competition. So, that's how you enter
the berry competition. Charizard smart
tag is getting placed in. We're on step
number 28. Real fun fact, the smart
brick actually interacts with this smart
tag. That way it could make the
Charizard sound effects when you are
battling and playing with it. So really
important step.
Boom. Bag one done.
Woo!
The Charizard Flame Tail is complete.
Time for these to get on.
CHARIZARD. [screaming]
WE did it. Lego Charizard. So, here is
Lego Charizard. And if you want to make
it a smart brick, all you have to simply
have to do, the instruction manual shows
it, but you just kind of pop out this
bottom part here like this. Take your
smart brick, add the cover onto it, and
now you can hear the smart brick in
action.
They said,
[laughter] and here's Charizard flying.
There is Lego Charizard in action for
everybody. Look how amazing Lego
Charizard looks. I mean, this thing is
incredible. Look at the tail. The flame
on its tail. Its mouth opens up. And
then we have the wings which move back
and forth. Honestly, really cool. It's
absolutely massive. Lego Charizard for
the win. Look at this. On to building
the next one. All right, now it's time
to build the next Lego part for this
set. Here we go. Bag number five. We are
making some crazy progress here.
If you take almost this little training
course we built for Charizard, check
this out. The moment you put it next to
it and interact with it, you'll hear the
sound. Ready?
Ain't that crazy? What?
It's making the sounds. So, a few things
with this Charizard smart brick. If you
take this healing spray and you apply it
next to Charizard, listen to the sound.
It's healing. It's actually healing. Are
you kidding me? This is so cool.
>> They go
I'm sorry. That is so cool that they
could actually do that. That is amazing.
Good job, Charizard. Get some well-
rested sleep now. Let's see what happens
when you put him to sleep.
>> Bro, this is insane. These smart bricks
are like the coolest thing ever. Coolest
ever. Next, we're going to build Lego
Jolon with bags numbers six and seven.
Jolton smart tag.
And this is your smart brick cover here.
So you'd put a smart brick normally in
here, but [music] because we don't have
a smart brick right now, boom. So you
just pop this off when you want to do
your smart brick stuff.
Bag number seven.
It's coming together slowly but surely.
Freck legs.
There it is. Jolon. Woo. Now, let's
check out its smart brick. [music] See
the noises it makes. All right. So,
here's what it looks like with the smart
brick attached.
Here is Lego Jolton. How cool is this?
It's exactly how I would imagine Jolton
[music] to be because it's an electric
typing. It has everything so finely
detailed. All the spikiness [music] of
its electricity type here. I love it. It
is an electric tape. Let me know if this
is your favorite evolution or not. Wow.
Let's see what it looks like when it
goes into training.
And let's see if Jolion and Charizard
can talk.
[screaming]
>> What were they just saying to each
other? Here's set one completed. We have
the Jolton, the Charizard, and the
little area where they can train. I
think it's very sick. All right, let's
move on to the next set. The next Lego
set is Cubone and Gengar's Spooky
Showdown. I'm really excited to build
this one. This Lego set has 782 pieces.
Look at this. I can't wait to see what
they [music] sound like. Let's open up
and see what's inside. We'll be doing
Lego Cubone first, followed up with bags
2, three, and four for Lego Gengar. Bags
number five and six, basically a Lego
training facility. And bag number seven
is this really nice tree. I like it.
Kind of like martial arts [music] on a
tree. So, let's do Cubone. So, that's
bag number one. Also, a quick note, this
specific set doesn't come with smart
bricks. [music] However, it does have
the smart tags. So, all you have to do
is just take a smart brick from another
set and put it on the smart tag, and
you'll get the noises and the Lego
Pokémon cries for these specific ones.
[music]
All right. Look at that Lego Ultra Ball.
Boom. By the way, let me know when you
build your Lego, how do you organize
your pieces? I'm very curious. Let me
know in the comments. Now, while the
other Mi is building, let me tell you a
little bit about the smart play system.
One of the coolest things about these
LEGO sets is the smart play system. It's
not just this brick alone. There are
also smart tags that the brick can
interact with when it is near a tag. And
that's when the really cool stuff
happens. Now, once the brick is in, the
Lego Pokemon truly do come to life. You
can nurture them. You can train them
exactly like how we were doing when I
was showing off the sets. And the really
interesting thing is what it does
depends on the Pokémon. If the Pokémon's
got legs, you can hear it walk. If it
can fly, you can hear it fly. Something
really cool that I didn't even get to
witness is water type swim. And then
some Lego Pokémon like Gengar hovers
makes the hovering sound. But I have two
favorite actions I wanted to talk to you
about. My first one is just putting the
Lego Pokemon to sleep and listening to
how they sound.
Another one of my favorites is putting
two Pokémon with Lego smart bricks in it
next to each other and they start
reacting to each other and talking.
Well, speaking in their own cries, but
that's the one that really makes me
laugh.
>> What were they just saying to each
other? Now, one thing that you should
know is that the smart brick only comes
in the all-in-one sets like the
Charizard versus Jolon Ultimate Battle
and another one like the training house
with Pikachu. Everything else, like the
Cubone and Gengar spooky showdown, don't
come with the smart brick, but they do
have their own tags that you could take
a smart brick and put it into. So, I
definitely suggest that if you're going
for a Lego Pokémon set that you
definitely grab an all-in-one so that
way you can have two Pokémon
interacting. And that's what the smart
brick is going to be interacting with.
Very cool.
Oh, that's looking so good right now.
That is looking so good.
Woo! He's got little feet. He's got
little arms now.
All right, there it is. Completely done.
Lego Cubone and the smart brick will go
right inside of here when we close it
up. We'll test that out later. Okay,
look at Cubone. The amount of detail
around Cubone is incredible. And I just
love the fact that Cubone has this bone
club in its hand. Perfect. Perfect.
Everything about Cubone is perfect
[music] to me. I love it. Let's do this.
Next up on our list, we're going to be
building Gengar. So, bags two, three,
and four. Gengar looks like it's going
to be a lot to build. So, here we go.
Let's break right into it. Bag number
two.
Bag two complete.
Gengar Smart Tag going in under the
tongue.
He's coming together. [laughter]
Look, he's got like full teeth now.
[cheering]
All right, bag number four. Here we go.
So, then we're combining these two.
What? That's cool for the final pieces
of Gengar. Let's do it.
Look at the ears. It's finally in. This
is like the coolest thing ever. Lego
Gengar ready for battle. Boom. I think
Gengar just might be one of my favorite
Lego Pokemon because of what it has on
the back, this little lever here. And
that lever controls its tongue. And I
just think this is the most funniest
thing ever.
So, both our Lego Cubone and Lego Gengar
are now built. And it's time for the
other parts of the set. Next up, we are
building this. This is where the Pokémon
are going to train. We got some more
Lego to build. [music]
It's like a little mushroom lamp looking
thing here. I like it. And there it is.
Very nice. Very clean. Bag number six.
If you want to see the treasure in the
chest, there it is.
Ta.
All right. And this is the smart tag
that we are inserting onto this. All
done. All right. Here we go. We're going
to build the tree.
Let's do it. This one also comes with a
smart tag just like that. So, we'll have
a smart brick interacting with it when
we get close to it. So, let's build.
Let's get to work.
The tree is done. And now all you have
to do is attach this. Has a little hook
into here. And this combines into a
fullblown training area, which is really
nice. There it is. The bonsai tree
connected to this. So, we have all the
training grounds ready to go, as well as
our Gengar. Boom. as well as the Cubone.
So, Cubones will be whacking this tree
training over here. And we have the
little Lego Ultra Ball. So, there is the
entire beautiful set. So, this is going
to be Cubone and Gengar's spooky
showdown. This is what the set looks
like fully done. So, I'm going to put
the smart bricks inside of Cubone and
Gengar so you all can see what they
sound like. So, what I want to do is you
want to pop out this little chest here.
We're going to take a Lego smart brick
and we're going to insert it It's
already coming to life. Hold on. To kind
of like hide the smart brick, you can
take [music] off the center piece on the
chest like this. Put it in the middle
here. Here's what Cubone sounds like.
So, you can hear
it's like a charge up.
[screaming]
Fast asleep. Same thing for Gengar.
We're gonna remove a part here and
insert the smart brick. So, just watch.
All right. So, here's some of the sound
effects that uh Gengar does.
>> Gengar sleeping.
>> [screaming]
>> I never get tired of that. And then
we'll put them up. And then here is what
Gengar and Cubone sound like. Yapping.
>> I love how they sound. It's so funny.
[laughter]
What are they laughing about? The other
set. So let's say for example, we want
Cubone over here to interact with this.
Watch this.
Now that we built all these Lego
Pokémon, I think it's time we get in
battle and become a Lego Pokemon
trainer. And in order to do that, I have
someone with me to help with the battle.
Here's Henna. And we'll be picking our
own Lego Pokémon to battle with. So,
which one do you want to go with?
>> Maybe Charizard.
>> Charizard. Okay. I feel like I might go
Gengar here. All right. So, it's a
fireflying versus a ghost poison typing.
Let's clear the battlefield and get
ready. Okay, here we go.
>> You beat me.
>> Yes, I did.
>> Gengar,
Charizard,
>> I need to give Gengar healing spray.
We're good to go.
Charge up attack.
>> I won. And that's how you do a Lego
Pokemon battle. You too can also become
a Lego Pokemon trainer. So, what are you
waiting for? Check out the link in the
description below and good luck on your
Lego Pokemon trainer journey.
