Video summary

The video explores bold predictions for the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season by reviewing highly upvoted comments from a Reddit thread and offering the host's personal analysis on their likelihood. The discussion begins with a sponsorship segment for Bear Mattress, where the host shares a personal story about upgrading his guest room mattress after his sister complained of poor sleep, leading him to move the high-quality bed to his own room for a significant improvement in rest. Following this advertisement, the host dives into specific NBA forecasts, starting with the Washington Wizards reaching 50 wins despite having an aging Anthony Davis and a young core led by Trey Young. The host expresses skepticism about this prediction, noting that even strong teams like Atlanta fell short of that mark last season due to early struggles, and argues that the modern NBA lacks "free wins," making such a high win total difficult for any team with injuries or roster turnover. Further predictions cover various teams and players, including the Charlotte Hornets dropping below 35 wins without LaMelo Ball, the Sacramento Kings trading Domantas Sabonis, and the Los Angeles Lakers finishing as one of the bottom five defensive teams. The host finds the prediction about the Western Conference Finals particularly bold, suggesting that neither the Oklahoma City Thunder nor the San Antonio Spurs will make it to the finals, with the Houston Rockets emerging as a dark horse contender instead. He also analyzes the Eastern Conference landscape, predicting a crowded playoff race where multiple teams could contend for top seeds, while noting that the Boston Celtics might struggle compared to their previous season due to health concerns surrounding Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum. The host emphasizes that many of these predictions are bold because they defy current trends, such as the idea that mid-tier teams will no longer have easy games against struggling opponents. The final segment of the summary focuses on individual awards and specific matchup outcomes, including Victor Wembanyama potentially losing the MVP award to Jason Tatum if Tatum stays healthy for a 55-win season with the Celtics. The host also discusses the Most Improved Player award, questioning whether Paul George could win it after a suspension or if Stefan Castles might be a more logical choice given his defensive projection. Additionally, there are predictions about Scotty Barnes making All-NBA First Team despite potential defensive regression and Victor Wembanyama becoming even more efficient than his already historic season. The video concludes by highlighting the difficulty of predicting the NBA due to the volatility of injuries and player performance, ultimately encouraging viewers to share their own bold takes in the comments section while acknowledging that some of these predictions are highly optimistic or even unrealistic given the competitive nature of the league.

Let's talk bold predictions, everybody. The 26 27 season is is right around the corner. So, I'm going to ask you, what is your boldest prediction for this season? I personally been working on a video that I'm going to release in a little bit of of like some of my bold predictions, but this was also a question that was asked over on Reddit, and I want everybody to get their ticket in now. So, you can come back to this video or you can go back to the Reddit thread and say, "Hey, I predicted that to be true." So, I'm going to read some of the most upvoted predictions on this Reddit thing and uh tell you if I agree or disagree. I know Reddit is a it can be a weird spot, but it does house a ton of NBA fans. So, I'm just curious to see what NBA fans are thinking. This video is brought to you by Bare Mattress. So, about two months ago, my sister spending the night at the crib just helping out around the house. She woke up and she said it was the worst sleep she had ever had, which means that it was time for us to upgrade our guest room and that's where Bear Mattress came in to play. That's where they came to play. Cuz if you didn't know, Bear is consistently top rated. Like, it was rated best overall in the 2026 Oprah Sleep Awards. Best overall. So, boom, we ordered the Bear mattress. is delivered straight to our doorstep. Free shipping, by the way, in the USA. Free shipping. And we got rid of the old mattress and put that new mattress in. After that, sister comes back over, spends another night, and she says it was night and day, a 4180. One of the best nights of sleep she's ever had. And I think to myself, wait a minute. Am am I using the best mattress in the house in the guest room? That don't feel right. So, what did I do? I moved the bear mattress to my bedroom. And my goodness, you don't really think about your quality of sleep until you get like a true true great night's sleep. And it was night and day for me as well. I thought my old mattress is good, but but Bear stepped up and now I feel more refreshed after a night of sleep. I love my Bear mattress and I think you would too. If you're looking to get the best sleep for your active lifestyle, this is the chance to do so cuz we got you a deal. Head over to bear mattress.com and use code kenny forreal to get 40% off your bear mattress. That's 40% off. What a steal. And after you do that, let them know I sent you, man. Let him know you got this code from Mr. Kenny himself. and I promise you, you will not regret it. Shout out again, The Bear, for sponsoring this video. The first one comes from something clever that says, "Anthony Davis will play 67 games, at least 67 games, at least 67 games, and the Wizards are a 50 win team." My goodness. Now, I don't know how to interpret up votes on something like this. Are people upvoting because they agree with this bold prediction? Are they upvoting for the boldness of the predict? Because I would say this is a very bold prediction. Starting off with the Anthony Davis part, Anthony Davis is about to be what, 34 years old? Yeah, he's about to be 34 years old. Shout out to AD. And he's played 67 or more games once in the last nine season. Nine seasons, y'all. So, while I hope I want Anthony Davies to play 82 games for a decade straight, I'm trying to be somewhat realistic with the history of everything and saying that him playing 67 games right now feels feels unrealistic. And again, I'm praying for it. I would love for it, but I just don't I wouldn't I wouldn't I guess that's what makes it bold, huh? It's bold to think the ads don't have as healthiest season in decade. But I just can't get there. And the Wizards are a team that just won 17 games last season. I think we're all super excited to watch them play because Trey Young and Anthony Davis are now on the team and finally get to play together because AJ Deont is on the team and because they have they already before this offseason and before they traded for Trey and Anthony Davis, they already had a pretty interesting young nucleus from Balo to Trey Johnson to Alex Sar who look better every single season. We were already really excited for it and I know that this team is going to be significantly better than last season, but it's hard for me to get to the 50 number and that's why again it is a bold prediction because I'm even thinking about like Atlanta last season. Atlanta last year was great in the second half of the season. They felt like they were unbeatable at times, right? But they still just ended up with 46 wins. Now part of that is because early in the season maybe they weren't as great and in order to win 50 you kind of have to start off pretty good. But our eventual NBA champion New York Knicks team only won 53. So, it's hard for me to see them be, let's just say, three wins worse in the regular season than the Knicks just were. And there there are no more free wins in the NBA, y'all. I mean, the Wizards were a free win team for like three seasons at least. Um, but there are no more free wins. Yeah, they're going to be bad teams. It's impossible for all three teams to be good, but there are there's not going to be mid-March, you have a slate to your schedule that say, I we got three games this week and this team is without three starters because they trying to lose. This team is without their two star players because they're trying to lose. that doesn't that's probably not going to happen this season because you try to look at those odds again. I know it always boils down to the 3-1 method and these advanced odds or changed odds but it's hard not to think about that all the time for me. So while like last season you would see the Indiana Pacers on your on your on your uh schedule and March and be like okay we can we can lock that in. Oh let me say I think February midFebruary to mid-March the Pacers lost like 15 straight games. So you see them on your schedule say we can just we can just chill we going to win this game. That's not the case anymore. Same thing with the Brooklyn Nets who brought bought in on Julius Randle and other things. Again, the Wizards are the team we're talking about. They're not a free win. I I mean, they're going to be bad teams, do not get me wrong, but those bad teams are going to be putting together or trying to put together their best possible lineup every single night because they don't want to be the team that instead of having an 8% chance of picking up a one, they have a 5% chance. You feel me? So, I wouldn't be surprised, and this is not I don't think this is a bold prediction, but I I wouldn't be surprised if like the middle of the standings is so jam-packed where we have seeds three through seven are divided by two games. You feel me? Just because there there is no real easy games anymore. I mean, not many. I mean, there are some teams, I ain't gonna name. There's some teams you be like, "Okay, we can still chop that as a win even, you know, but it's going to be rough out there. The Jazz are trying to win. The Kings, you feel me?" Um, the Grizzies have at least interesting young roster. The Dallas Mavericks, the Pelicans are buying in and they had a pretty interesting second half of the season. So, you go on and on and on. So, I say all this to say I appreciate the boldness of this and I would love for this to be true, but it's hard for me to to say that this is something that I I think is really gonna happen. Okay. Direct departure says Hornets went under 35 games. He says the Kings trade sabonis. Okay, I don't know how bold that is. I think they they would be interested in trading Sabonis. The Lakers are a bottom five defense. The Celtics are worse than last year. The Magic 50 wins. Neither the Thunder or the Spurs represent the Western finals. So, of all of all of their bold predictions, this last one is the one that is the boldest cuz like I I Let me see how many wins that the Hornets win last season. 44. Wow. Okay. Without LaMelo, are they dropping off that many that many wins? It's still a solid roster. So he just don't have Melo. I mean there's some big shoes to fill over there. I guess that is a truly truly bold prediction. Even if you don't like that LaMelo ball trade, you can look at that roster and say Khan, Brandon Miller, I mean Nas Reed is kind of perfect what they want to do. Musbate that's still a competent team to let's say win 40 35 would be a surprise. Kings straight a bonus. I don't think that's bold. I I would I would bet money on them trying to I don't know if I would bet money on somebody biting. The Lakers being a bottom five defense doesn't feel bold. You know, you look at that Ross. I feel like they're also going to try to they're going to find a way to not be the one of the bottom five defenses, right? Like if I had to guess where the Lakers defense is going to be at the end of the season, I would guess 15 through 22 defensively and then the offense is probably one through five and it's like that balances out to 48 wins or 51. I don't know what the number's going to be. Uh the Celtics are worse than last season. I don't think that's that's a bold prediction because while I do believe in Jason Tatum and the roster they put together, you know, especially if you look past Jaylen Brown trade, there is a huge huge bet on Jason Tatum's health playing as many games as what Jaylen Brown did last season. Um, but I know a lot of people that are looking at the Celtics and be like, "Oh, no, they're back to contention. I don't know if I can be there just yet." The Magic winning 50 games is one of my things. I don't think that's a bold prediction. I do I truly do believe in this Magic team. I think I said at the end of last season, if y'all are selling your Orlando Magic stock, tap me in. They won 45 last year and that was a bad year for them. We hated the season they had. I at the end of the season I'm like, bro, I'm so tired of watching the Atlanta Magic and they still ended up winning 45. So you're trying to tell me with new coach, another year with Desmond Bane in that lineup, they can't win five more games. I would bet I would bet on that. I'm I'm saying that that's not bold, but I I agree with that. But neither the Thunder or the Spurs represent the West in the finals is truly truly a bold prediction. Because while the East is a blood bath where I can see one, two, three, four, five, six, six and a half different teams maybe represent the East, out west, though I do like some of these other teams. It's between OKC and the Spurs, right? Like who is even three on that list in y'all mind? Is it Denver? Hard for me to think that. Is it LA? I just told you I think they defense going to be 15 to 22. is 15 to 22 defensively good enough to win three playoff series to be in the NBA finals. Probably not. It's going to be the Houston Rockets now that Fred Van Vit is back and they got some steady point guard play. I don't know if I like the Minnesota Timber did a lot this offseason. Are they going to be able to put it all together in one one regular season? So yeah, that's a bold bold prediction. OKC is not getting any worse and the Spurs is getting better. So those are the two teams. They gonna see each other in the conference finals because I think they're a one and two seed every single season at this point. They're gonna see each other in the conference finals. Whoever win that seven is going on to to represent the West. I wish somebody did follow up asking like, "Okay, then who would you bet to be that team?" It might be Minnesota. And some sometimes I be thinking to myself, am I am I Now I'm about to have an internal dialogue. Am I am I turning to two I testy? You know what I mean? I test vibeswise. I love this Minnesota Timber team, y'all. But some of the analytics guys are like, "Yeah, Kaminga is Kamiga." you know, but I'm like, Kaminga's Kaminga, but if he is truly about his action and his word, then that's a really good player to have right there, right? Um, Lamelo Ball ain't been only had one healthy season in the last four. Like, yeah, but he is coming off the healthy season and maybe he's having a Steph Curry arc with them ankles are cool for the rest of his career. Like I talk I be talking myself into these type of things and then like the MLS guy be like, "Nah, he a bad fit next to this guy. He a bad fit next to this guy." And a lot of times they end up being right. A lot of times end up being right. But I'm like looking at Minnesota like maybe it is Minnesota there. Maybe it is. Yeah, it. It's Minnesota. If it ain't those two, it's Minnesota. That's my number three. I appreciate these people that will give you seven bold takes. Let's Let's look at this one. Jason Tatum will be one of the front runners for MVP this season following a 55 plus win win win season for the Celtics in a careerhigh approximately 288 and seven. Okay. He'll ultimately lose to Wimby or Luca. It does feel like a if healthy Wimby MVP season. No disrespect to Shay Luca or Joic or Giannis. All these guys are all these guys that are normally in conversation, but it just feels like this is Wimby to lose this season. But what do I know? Um I think that would be pretty again. Tatum Tatum looked eventually looked pretty solid towards the end before, you know, he had to set out for the the last playoff game or so. He looked pretty pretty solid towards the end of coming back and now full off seasonason underway. I know y'all going to look at those clips when he's overseas and missing all these layups and all these free throws and stuff like that and be like, "No, this ain't season." But I I truly believe that Tatum could do this. Like I said earlier, it is a huge bet on his health. And with you having a franchise player like Tatum who is still what 19 years old, I'm pretty sure. Let me double check that. Jason Tatum. Yeah, with him being still 19 years old, you kind of want to slow grind in my mind. But again, it's Tatum. He came back and he averages what 30 minutes a game. So maybe maybe you don't slow grind. But in my mind, if there's any flare-ups, if there's any any soreness, I I'm just I'm just want to be cautious, you know, and say, Tatum, you sit this one out. you sit this one out and maybe because of these sitting outs that maybe he doesn't end up 65 games I think is Tatum like minimum but like I don't know because Tatum does have the benefit of obviously being one of the best players in the world don't get me wrong but he's always had the benefit unlike his his former teammate in Jaylen Brown where the advanced analytics absolutely love him as well. So, if you're trying to tell me I'm Jason Tatum, my number two guy is no longer an allNBA player like Jaylen Brown and I'm still winning 55 games. And let's say he has a normal Tatum season, which a normal Tatum season at this point is 266 and N9. That's that's what Tatum averaged last year, the year before that. He averaged 30 the year before that. So, just an average Tatum season. He just gets back to himself. And he don't have like the narrative of being like, man, his number two guy basically a number one on 90 other teams. I could see him being in the conversations again. I would rather slow grind Tatum's return. He averaged 33 minutes per game in 16 games last season. Just straight just just straight off of ACL. His very first game. Hold on. How many minutes he played? 27. First game back off an Achilles. 27. H. He basically played three 40minute games in the playoffs. So yeah, don't slow grind anything. It's Jason Tatum. He he made out of vibranium. The next one that this person said is 76 to start off. So So I think this is pretty true. Just just based on the history of these teams that are super talented but maybe having some talent overlap. it. I think it's gonna take some time for them to look like the team that we think they can be. So, I I think this is probably pretty true, but they said they bounce back late in the year and go to the finals where they're likely fall to a historic Spurs team. Okay. Wimby Shay, Tatum, Luca, and Hallebertton are the first team. So, Jokic falls out of all NBA first team. That would be tough because even even in the years where like let me let me let me make sure I'm I'm speaking correctly here. Even in the years where Jokic and company didn't end up having, you know, a top three seed, he's found ways to be on first team because, you know, he's he's who he is, right? So, the year that they win 47 games and they lost in the second, they got swept in the second round to Phoenix, um he was on he was on first team, too. So, like the Denver Nuggets don't need to win 50 games for Tatum, I'm sorry, for Joic to be all NBA first team. Hell, I mean, he won MVP that season, right? Yeah. Yeah. That's his MVP. That's his first MVP year. We're tied for a three seed at that time. Well, not tied for record-wise tied for three seed been three seed that season. And then the year after his second MVP, they were a six seed and they he won MVP. So, it's g I think it's gonna be really hard for a guy like Hallebertton to jump into all NBA first. Him also coming off an injury. We don't know how long it's going to take him to jail. So, that is truly a bold prediction. If I had to, let's go back and look at last year's AllNBA first team. Let me just refresh my memory real quick. Last year's first team is Shay Jokic, Wimby, Luca Cade. That's the five. And if you're trying to tell me that you believe Hallebert's jump g going to jump in, I don't feel like Jokic is the one that falls out. If anything, maybe it's just Kade because it's his first time there. Well, like Luca, as long as Luca's playing 65. As long long as those other four are playing 65, they're like locks to be first team. And Tatum damn near was a lot to be first team as long he was playing 65, too. So, I just feel like that jumping into first team is going to be extremely hard. Shout out to Kade for getting it done last season. Um, but it would be hard for somebody to take that. And the last one they said and is uh I also think a Sorrow to be better than I'm in this season, but the Pistons will still be a fifth seed or lower in the first round exit. Also forgot about Giannis. Shout out to the comment. I forgot about Y. If Yiannis plays 65, that's the fifth spot, too. Like, ah, bro, this season's going to be crazy cuz I'm everybody's playing at least 65. I Nobody's going to get injured this season, right? I think Assar will prove to be better than Aman Thompson. That's going to be tough. I just don't think Assar at this point in his career has the offensive juice that Amen Thompson has been able to provide. I think that Assar is the better of the the two defensively. Um, but I think he would have to take a significant jump offensively and his confidence and his his creation to make that realistic and Len knows Pistons fans would would welcome that type of jump. Um, but I just I can't see that. But that's what makes it a bold prediction. Makes a bold prediction. The next one is a Super Bowl prediction. The Knicks are out of the first round. Timberwolves over Philly in game six of the finals. Okay, I'm here for all of these. Temples have a better record than the Rockets. I don't think that's I don't think that's bold take at all. It's bold at all. Especially when you consider that last year, um it it wasn't it wasn't that crazy. You know, it was three threeame difference between the two. So, that's not a bold prediction at all. Here, here's what I'm talking about. I've been trying to figure out who my sleeper teams are. And do the Magic count as a sleeper? This is just a huge bet on coaching. This is a huge bet on just another year. Again, Paulo has ended last season with saying the absolute right things. and he went out to the playoffs at a 45 point game. Of course, they blew the 3-1 lead and all, but but I don't know. Is it is it is that a bold prediction to feel like a team that has like they won 50 what two years ago? 47 two years ago. Okay, so nearly 52 years ago. Is it a bold prediction to say that I think that that team is going to win three more games than their than last year? Like I don't know how bold that is. Yeah, let's just rattle them off. Paul George win most improved player. Is that possible? That's that's most improved podcast. That's why I'll be opening up the comments cuz the comments just take it way too far. Is it possible for guy to win MP twice? Can you win MP after a season where you got suspended? Like I always think about that. Not just suspension, but like a year where you're heavily injured. Can you win most improved player if you played 40 games the previous season? You know what I mean? I know they have comeback player of the year as an award that nobody cares about, but can he win most improved player after missing 25 games because of suspension? Probably not. Actually, there was just a thing that people were in I think it was ESPN's panelists. They were talking about who they believe is going to win most improved player and they had like our guy Stefan Castle. And listen, look look, Steph Castle is one of my favorite players in the NBA. That's my that's my dog. Shout out to bro. I just kind of hate the idea of a former rookie of the year winning most improved player. You know what I mean? A guy that averaged 17 last season. He's on year two. He's going to win most improved player in year three. I just I I love when and sometimes this doesn't happen, right? But I love when you have a out of nowhere type of guy. Um who was on my ballot last year for most proof? I don't remember. But oh yeah, it was 100% Nikquille. Nikquille is the perfect most improved player type of guy. Those are the guys I love to see. He went from nine points per game to 20 to 20. Like those are the guys, not the guys that was already projected like Stefan Castle is projected to be an alldefensive player this season. Just just straight up based on based on everything. So I don't like that. Um, but the let's get back to the surprise guys. Like even a even a Colin Gillespie last season, I'm like, "Yeah, that's a guy that should get some love for most improved player." Not not the Jamar Rats of the world. Shout out to Jaw though. Cat will make all NBA first team Super Bowl prediction. I respect it. Absolutely not. I'm clipped. Minnesota be the be exciting to watch. Make a run beating OKC the Spurs then get trounced. Oh, I haven't seen that word I don't know ever by the other. Yeah, that's the tough part about being not one of these teams. And somebody said that, you know, one of these teams is not going to represent the West. You probably have to go through both of them to get out of the Western Conference and then and then play against whoever's out east. That's so impossible in my mind. Halleurn will make the Pacers a top three in the East along with the Knicks and Cavs. I'm a true believer in the Cavs regular season, by the way, and maybe in the postseason, too. I don't know. I know James Harden got the history of stuff, but the the Cavs should be another 55 win team this season. It would be a bad season for Boston and Robinson would struggle. Talking about Mitchell Robinson. It took me a second like what Robinson's in Boston. Yeah. No, not not Duncan but Mitchell. Portland will suck. What that mean? What that mean though? You talking 26 win suck or you talking, you know, slight step back from being a 70 suck. I I don't know what's Christian Brown surprise people for the Nuggets. I hope so. Oh, they Murray betrayed. Oh my god. Scotty Barnes McG. Hey, those are a ton of like he looked at the Robbie eyeballs looked at the prompt that said bold prediction and basically gave us nothing but bold predictions. I applaud you. I applaud you. Nothing but the uh the least bold of these all are probably man. Scotty Barnes is one of them on one. So I don't think it's that bold to think he can be on the second team. Speaking of Scotty Barnes, Scotty Barnes, the DPY finalist making first team and all second team. Okay. So yeah, I think that um we talked about this on the pod the other day that sometimes the voters feel like they could be a little bit late on the defensive tip, right? I thought it was a no-brainer that Scotty Scotty Barnes should have been all defensive first team. He obviously was not. And I think that because of how he finished the season as far as the postseason, how he I want to call him a oneman army because a lot of people contributed to that. Jacobe Walter had two 20point games and you know the rookie was out there, Kyler Boy was out there doing great stuff and so on and so forth. I don't want to say he single-handedly took the team to seven, but damn it, he was really great to taking a team to seven. So, I think that the the voters are going to catch up and like be like, "I fault for putting you on the second team defensively. We gonna put you on the first team this year, even if he was worse defensively this year than last year." You feel me? And uh, whoa, they say Shay's going to win his third MP somehow becoming even more efficient and clutch. I just don't know how realistic it is for Shay to be even more efficient and clutch. And it sounds like Glaze, and maybe it is, but the guy is the the pillar of efficiency from the guard position. I don't know how he can get more, especially in a regular, I don't know how he can get more efficient than what he just did. I like is that even like truly is that even possible? He's coming off one of the most efficient guard seasons in the history of this sport. If he do it, if he can get even more efficient, yeah, give him a war. But I just know voter fatigue is real. Voter fatigue is real. OKC wins his second chip. Hi comes back better than ever in second team. Yet the Pacers are first round exit. The Raptors make the conference final. Some tell me you ain't got no you ain't got no uh flare here, but some tell me you might be a Raptors fan. A couple Raptors predictions in here. Okay. Wolves make it to the Western Conference Finals. Melo is what Ant needed to break up the break into the upper tier. He's known only first team in MP talks. Interesting. Patience went 60. Okay. 60. Yeah, that's a bold prediction. Now, let me see that profile picture. Okay. I don't see TJ McConnell profile picture. 60. 60 wins is a lot. Last year, what do we just have two 60 three win teams? 60 on the dot for the Pistons. Yeah. And then OKC and the Spurs. 60 is not easy to do whatsoever. So, that is a bold prediction. Uh Rudy Gobear knocks Oh, I'm sorry. Rudo Bear knocks down not one but two three-pointers. Let Rudy shoot. Let Rudy shoot. Let Rudy shoot. He's going to see LaMelo throw some crazy onelegged I don't Okay. Do I have to I'm going to Google this. Let's hope it's not bad words. H why I cannot. Why not I? I I don't know. English is is my only language. Um even though I took four years of Spanish back in the day. I know like six words. Um nobody got any bulls predictions. Come on, bro. Man, not a single Bulls prediction in this thread. Oh my god. And then the one I see says this, the Bulls contend with Kings for worst record in the league. All right, I'm gonna wrap this
