These Moments Were Not Supposed To Happen At Summerlam 2026

What's good y'all? It's your boy Ross back at again with another video. So, I want to check out 15 moments that were not supposed to happen at WWE SummerSlam 2026. SummerSlam 2026 is in the books, man. And overall, uh I've said this before, I think I I enjoyed the show. I think the show was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. things could have been done in different ways, especially with how the Hell in the Cell played out and stuff like that, but for the most part, I'm okay with, you know, how the show overall was. But I'm sure there was some things that weren't supposed to happen, but ultimately ended up happening. So, we're going to check this out. Appreciate all the love and support you guys shown on the channel. Let's get right into this video. Man, >> edition of SummerSlam is now officially in the books. And whilst the show mainly delivered in terms of shocking moments such as Kevin Owens and Randy Orton returning, the show featured its fair share of botches and blunders. From celebrities missing their cues to one of the worst moons salts ever [laughter] seen on WWE television show where not everything went to plan WrestleMania 15 moments that were not supposed to happen at SummerSlam 2026. Now, attire malfunctions can occur at any time in a WWE match, and if they occur, one will hope that it's a small malfunction, and the wrestler is quickly able to recover. Thankfully, that was the case with Liv Morgan during SummerSlam, as during an altercation on the outside, Morgan suffered a brief attire malfunction. Thankfully, she was able to recover quickly thanks to some assistance from her Judgement Day associate. Oh, I know some of y'all may have seen this and was hoping for for the the worst. And by worst, I mean, you know, seeing some things, some slippage. I know y'all were I know y'all were here. You can't help yourself. I get it. I get it, man. But I'm glad that wasn't the case. I'm I am glad that was not the case. >> Raquel Rodriguez, who was also caught on camera for sneaking under the ring. Number two, WWE can't spell. Now, don't get us wrong, we get our fair share of mistakes and spelling mistakes in these videos. And don't worry, I always know because you call everything out. But WWE is a billion-dollar company, yet during SummerSlam, they made so many simple errors. These errors range from incorrectly labeling CM Punk versus >> Yeah, I did see this. I think CM Punk posted this on his story, so there was people thinking, "Oh, it's going to be a street fight." No, they just they messed up on the printing of these seats. such as Cody Rhodess as a street fight on the ringside chair to correctly spelling commercial during the PL itself. There's kind of no excuse for these errors on a big stage like this. Number three, >> y'all remember it was supposed it was Minabota. Minabota for a long time. Y'all remember that? [laughter] They making too much money for that to be happening. I'm going be honest with you. >> Exposing the crowd. It's been well documented that WWE's been struggling to sell tickets for SummerSlam this year. WWE sold under 40,000 tickets for both nights this year. This was a major drop from last year's figures. WWE must be extremely disappointed with these overall figures. And naturally, this meant that the stadium was almost half empty for both nights, and WWE had to be extremely careful with how they shot the show as they didn't want to expose the empty seats. The empty seats were seen at certain points of the show. Yet, WWE did a moderately decent job in hiding their poor attendance. However, there were points in the PLA where the empty seats would ultimately be exposed when fans in attendance took to their social medias to share photos of the crowd. And and if you think about it, that stage was so huge it cut off part of the stadium. They set it up like that where the stage is ridiculously huge to cut off part of the stadium. Also, if you paid attention, they didn't normally tout like they do. this night had this many people and then night two had this many people with a total of this grand number. They didn't do that this time. You want to know why they didn't do that this time? Because they weren't proud of the numbers that they got. And honestly, I'm not upset. I don't think anybody should be upset or, you know, feel bad for them because this is the mess that they've made. When you keep trying to price people out and money gouge, this is what happens. Tell me why earlier today I got an email saying, "Hey, this is your opportunity to get your [clears throat] Survivor Series tickets early." And I think you have to part of have to be a part of like the WWE um whatever that little plan that they got going on, that little deal. It's not really a deal. You just pay them to get tickets early. So, you can pay them early and [clears throat] if the shows don't sell, they'll they'll just put it on discount anyway. It's a waste of [ __ ] money. But I got that email and I'm not even signed up. They wanted me to sign up. [ __ ] all that. No, I'm glad they're dealing with this. Maybe, just maybe, they'll understand you keep doing this, people are not going to pay. You got to put on better shows. >> Made WWE look terrible. Even at one point when WWE was having an advertisement for their LGN series, the camera was in an awkward position and you could see the topping in the back. Obviously, somebody got the memo right there and then to pan away from it as they panned away just after that. While SummerSlam isn't Wrestlemania, it's still one of their biggest PL of the year. There's no excuse for barely being able to fill half a stadium at this stage. Number four, Brie Bella gets injured. Yeah, Bella's shoulder injury at WWE SummerSlam highlights why greater care needs to be taken to protect wrestlers during matches. Bella was competing alongside Nikki Bella and Paige against Fatal Influence when she appeared to hurt her right shoulder. The moment seemed to have occurred when Brie was near the steel steps and after that she was visibly holding her shoulder during and after the match. And following the event, Triple H confirmed that Bella had received treatment before being taken to hospital for scans. And Nikki also mentioned her sister was in significant pain. Obviously, injuries can happen unexpectedly in pro wrestling at any time, and it probably wasn't through the fault of any wrestler in particular, but it does highlight the risk in any match. >> Hey, wishing her a speedy recovery. I know it's the timing of that is so kind of wild how Nikki was out, then she comes back, then Bri gets injured, now she's out. It's It's really unfortunate. I know some of y'all be like, "Oh, you don't really care about the Bellas like that." I'm not um the biggest [clears throat] fan of their matches, but I would never want someone to legitimately get injured. That's that's never my uh opinion on on things. Like I I don't get excited that someone got hurt. That's weird energy. So, I'm wishing her a speedy recovery. I know it sucks. And uh hopefully she can come back uh stronger and better than she was before, man. Five, NW. And Nicus is of course former NWA World Champion. Yeah. For whatever reason, the WWE commentator Michael Cole had grave difficulty announcing the phrase NWA. Cole would say NW during his commentary for Aldis versus. And this is definitely a slip of the tongue that would have landed Cole in hot water in the old era WWE. You can just imagine it now. Vince screaming down the headset as Cole is trying to rectify the mistake. Number six, the worst moons ever. [laughter] This Punk was feeling overly ambitious during his WWE title showdown versus Cody Rhodess during night one. Punk would deliver a moon salt and he completely botched it. Punk was supposed to land the move cleanly and safely yet Punk landed right in a heap. It's unclear what went [laughter] wrong with move yet it led to an incredibly awkward moment as roads clearly wasn't sure what to do as he didn't get hit at all. In fact, the only person who did get hit was John Cena. Even Michael Cole was confused with how to address the move on [laughter] commentary. Whilst it's appreciated that is trying out new and rare moves that he doesn't normally do, there's no need to do this at this stage of his career. And it's a miracle he didn't come out of Summerslam with a serious injury. This unfortunately wasn't the only time Punk landed in a heap during the match. As one punk attempted an elbow from the top rope onto Roads through the announce table. Punk landed in the worst way possible. It's almost as if he went feet first onto the commentary table and then awkwardly landed on his knees. And whilst this all contributed to the story of the match, there was no way that this was how Punk was supposed to land, especially when analyzing prior landings from the exact same spot. The barge landing likely came down to fatigue and exhaustion, as this was at the tail end of the match, and Punk's body likely just couldn't commit to such a huge spot. Number seven, drop title. Hey, man, just let's not do that no more, Punk. Okay. All right. Just, you know, just take it easy. You're getting up there, too. Let's I'm getting up there, too. But just just take it easy. Okay. >> Speaking of CM Punk possibly being fatigued, this was seen during the post-match antics as Punk managed to drop his title as he was about to wave it up in the air. Obviously, this could have been easily put down to Punk's exhaustion. Yet, it was a bot nevertheless. Number eight, mic issues. Mic issues are unfortunately common in WWE, especially on a live PLE. Summerslam 2026 was no exception as where Michael Cole cut to the post show team, the mics weren't working properly. It was impossible to make out what on earth the hosts were saying. And this is likely going to be edited out of future replays of the PLE on Netflix and ESPN as there's no need to keep this audio malfunction in the broadcast. Number nine, Ober forgets the finish. The finish of Ober Fei versus Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell was supposed to be special. The finish was supposed to see Lesnar take a fall from grace onto the exposed ring cap. >> That's what I was thinking. I was like, this is supposed to >> they exposed this. Oba took a tombstone and still kicked out. That's how you know they're mega pushing him. But in my head, and I think a lot of people's head, all right, he's going to take the fall from Grace onto the wood and that's it. They're going to end the match right there. He's not getting up from that, right? But seems as if the positioning was off because that's not what happened. [laughter] >> And this would have been an epic finish. It would have cemented Fei as the guy that finally stopped Lesnar in his tracks. Unfortunately, this went completely wrong. And when Lesnar took the bump, he completely missed the exposed wood. This then led to an awkward moment of Lesnar looking behind him during the final pin to realize that the final spot had been completely botched. Some fans believe that this completely ruined the match, but it's hard to disagree as the entire match built to this one single spot and it was completely mishandled. An interesting element when it comes to Lesnar is that he wore elbow pads for the first time in years during his match, something he hasn't worn since his first ever run in WWE and there was a likely reason behind this as Lesnar knew he was going to take this huge bump on the exposed mat and he didn't want to do it without. >> That makes even more sense. I that definitely now it makes sense why he had the elbow pads because he's going to take this bump on wood. So I'm sure you know taking that type of that type of move would definitely not feel good on your elbows and your joints. So he wanted to try to protect himself as much as he possibly could and it didn't it didn't didn't go where he didn't land where he was supposed to. So damn that's an unfortunate situation, bro. hilariously. It was all for nothing and during the post-match angle which saw Lesnar go completely off script, he was quick to take the elbow pads off as they were clearly irritating him throughout the matchup. Number 10, Sammy didn't kick out. Whilst it was fantastic to see Kevin Owens return at SummerSlam, this return was almost an utter disaster as the match finish was almost botched. During a pin attempt from Finn Balor, the scripted spot was that Gunther would break up the spot, yet he completely missed his queue. It has been debated whether or not the referee hit the three count and the fact that he looked over to the timekeeper suggests that he was about to call it as a legitimate shoot and crown Pal as the winner. WWE went through a period of calling every match finished as a shoot, meaning that if a wrestler failed to kick out, the referee would have to call it as such. It's unclear if this that would have been a crazy situation. That would have been definitely crazy, but it did look like some timing was off uh where Gunther wasn't in the right position and Sammy essentially wasn't supposed to kick out because Gunther is supposed to be there. You see green shirt guy make myself smaller saying that was three. You see someone else saying that was three or someone else saying that was three. The match was over. If you want to be honest, that really was three, but he he he stopped himself because he had to wait for GA to get in position. Imagine if they would have did it like they used to where they just called it legitimately. If you not in your position, I got to call the match the way it is. Imagine if that was the case, Finn Balor would be your number one contender. >> That'd be interesting. That would have been interesting. >> It's still the practice in the TKO era, but it looks like the game is more in favor of keeping [clears throat] things as initially intended. Number 11, out of position. And the match between Trick Williams and Baron Corbin went completely off the rails towards the end. The scripted spot was supposed to see Corbin run against the ropes only for rapper Lilotti to hit him with a kendo stick. The rapper completely missed his queue and this led to an awkward moment where Corbyn had to scream his name in the middle of the match. Similar to how Eddie Guerrero got angry with Vicky Guerrera at SummerSlam 2005. Where the f is Vicki? Every single fan noticed this and it was made even more awkward thanks to Corbyn, Trick Williams and the ref standing there not knowing how to proceed. While Siati had been fantastic in his role on TV so far, these spots have to be executed correctly as it completely ruined the match. Number 12. Ouch. Toito Hen was impressive once again in the human monies on a pole match during SummerSlam. However, he had one rather rough landing during his dive onto Jamie McDonald. Howen landed rough on the barricade head first. Bro thought he was a bull again. Thankfully, it does look like he's okay as there's been no reports of any injuries coming out of night two of the broadcast. Number 13. Where is Dean Ambrose? The WWE production crew would have been having a meltdown during the show's main event. During the intros for Roman Reigns versus Seth Rollins, a fan held up a sign saying, "Where is Dean Ambrose?" Hilariously, the fan kept bringing the sign back into the frame of the shot, so he clearly knew what he was [laughter] doing. WWE were insistent on not showing the sign again, so it's possible that they purposely shot around the sign. The idea that the sign was confiscated. Number 14, no rules. But believe it or not, Seth Rollins versus Roman Reigns at SummerSlam was not a DQ match. However, from watching the match, it looked like more of a street fight. That's what I said. That's what I know it was a great match and I enjoyed it and it was the match of the weekend for SummerSlam, but once again, as someone that's watching this, there's it's hard to ignore the fact that there were certain points in this match where I was like, they should have been counted out. They're literally walking in the crowd, walk fighting, using weapons. I'm like, "Yeah, they should have been counted out. There should have been some disqualification." This ref is just letting [ __ ] happen. It makes no sense. It doesn't. Did we still get a great match? Of course. But you have to excuse the illogical way they set this up cuz it doesn't make sense. Still fantastic. Still enjoyed it, but definitely didn't make sense. That's kind of wrestling in a bubble to be honest with you. multiple points in the match. The match should have been brought to a close as at one point both men completely ignored the 10 count. For whatever reason, the referee just stopped counting. There was even a point where Rollins should have been DQed with hitting range with one of those security poles. Weirdly, in a spot later in the match, the referee would then begin to count again. So, this was just poor scripting and management from whomever put the main event match together. If that wasn't bad enough, DQ should have been called throughout the match as weapon shots were involved in the match and even Michael Cole commentary struggled to explain why this wasn't a DQ. Obviously, this isn't the first time that this has happened during a Reigns main event match as the exact same thing occurred at Wrestlemania this year. This looks to be a new precedent for Reigns' main event matches where the rules are just thrown straight out of the window. This is fine in theory and could definitely add to Reigns' established character. Yeah, this needs to be translated to the audience as just coming across as WWE not caring about the rules of the match. >> Yeah, explain it as the sneaker Roman is paying referees or some [ __ ] like he has that type of pool where referees give him leniency. So you build up like wait a minute, this guy is full of [ __ ] because he's still he's really a bad guy and let's he's a cool bad guy. People think he's cool. I think he's cool but he's a he's a prick. He is. So, if you're going to do that, I would lean into that to make it make sense. Yeah, I'm beating people by myself, but the referee gives me leniency. So, am I really beating people by myself? Could do something like that to explain that because that's how his matches go. Well, I could count you out, but you're Roman Reigns. So, no, I'm not going to. [laughter] I just want fans to accept it and move on. At number 15, Cory look pissed. Now, probably you're not a botch, per se, but this looked completely off. On the SummerSlam Post show, Cory Graves would talk about how Corbyn pulled off a huge win, winning the US title and massively putting over Trick Williams, who's been redhot. But as he was making his point, he was interrupted by Joe Tesstor, and it seemed that Grace wasn't too happy about it. Let's face it, Cory could run rings around Joe, who doesn't grasp the same level of wrestling knowledge he has, and it was clear that he didn't want to be interrupted. But this was all likely a call from producers to keep the segment going. But there you have it, folks. 15 moments that would n >> Hey, Cory Graves is he's really good at his job. Shout out to Corey Graves, man. Uh but yeah, definitely some of these I I I did notice and some of them I did not notice. And it's a live show, a live event. There are going to be some blunders and mis mishaps. The whole Oba and Brock situation. Now that it makes sense, it does look like he wasn't in the right positioning. If the match would have ended the way it was probably intended to, I think it would have had a better reception. I still think people would have been more disappointed because they wanted to see blood because these guys, you know, have been building up this this ultimate final battle. But nevertheless, it is what it is. It's the situation we got now. And hopefully hopefully they can continue to build stuff with Oba and uh honestly relatively soon. I don't know if they're going to hold out to Wrestlemania. I wouldn't be surprised, but maybe putting that that world championship on him, building that Oba versus Roman match, cuz I I think that's the next biggest match you could possibly put on in WWE, the future versus someone that's already been established.
