Video summary
The video begins with a recap of the opening segment on Friday Night SmackDown, focusing on Kevin Owens' emotional return and his mother's presence in Toronto. Owens addressed his previous loss to CM Punk, highlighting how everything seemed perfectly aligned for him to win the title before Sami Zayn interfered. This interference was met with intense anger from Owens, who declared the act unforgivable. The tension escalated when Gunther arrived to challenge Punk, followed by Finn Balor claiming his shot at the championship. Consequently, a triple threat match was announced between Gunther, Kevin Owens, and Finn Balor to determine the next challenger for CM Punk, setting up a significant storyline heading into Sunday's main event.
A major highlight of the episode was the heated confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, which the host describes as the feud that should have been featured at WrestleMania. Despite a strict no-touch clause that would disqualify them from future title opportunities if they made physical contact, the two engaged in a psychological battle filled with personal insults. They traded barbs about family members, pets, and their respective fathers, pushing each other to the brink of violence without crossing the line into actual combat. The segment was praised for its high energy and storytelling, effectively building anticipation for their upcoming match while showcasing the deep-seated hatred between the two rivals.
The main event featured a chaotic triple threat match involving Gunther, Finn Balor, and Kevin Owens that was ultimately ruined by Sami Zayn's interference. After Finn Balor scored a clean pin on Gunther, Zayn attacked both competitors, leading to a brawl that spilled outside the ring. CM Punk eventually joined the fray, resulting in a massive fight where Zayn used the WWE Championship belt to knock out Owens, Balor, and Gunther one by one. The segment ended with CM Punk standing victorious over the incapacitated opponents, but the host expressed disappointment that Zayn's actions once again spoiled a championship opportunity match, noting this was the second time in a row he has done so.
In conclusion, the host enjoyed the overall production of SmackDown, particularly the Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton storyline and the chaotic main event scene. However, there were concerns regarding the treatment of WWE Women's Champion Chelsea Green, who had been pinned multiple times in non-title matches, leading to a loss of confidence in her ability to retain the title against Nia Jax. The host hopes that future storylines will rectify this issue and provide a more satisfying outcome for the women's division. Overall, the episode was seen as solid entertainment with compelling character dynamics, leaving viewers eager to see how WWE resolves the various ongoing feuds and matches in the coming weeks.

What's good y'all? It's your boy Ross
back at again with another video. So, we
got to talk about what happened on this
episode of Friday Night Smackdown. I
know the episode was pre-taped and uh I
believe uh Monday Night Raw has already
been pre-taped and I think they're also
pre-taping another episode of Smackdown.
So, if you guys have seen the uh some of
the the next couple episodes, please do
not spoil in the comment sections uh or
comment section down below. We're going
to be checking them out as they actually
drop uh on Monday and next Friday. But
nevertheless, I did enjoy this episode,
even though it was already pre-taped.
There was some stuff on this show that I
really enjoyed, and I'm really looking
forward to how things are going to play
out um in these next coming weeks and as
we get to closer to Sunday night's main
event. So, first things first, we got to
talk about uh what transpired on uh at
the beginning of the show. So, at the
beginning of the show, we had Kevin
Owens come out there. Kevin Owens came
out there and he basically addressed
what happened last week on him not
winning the WWE Championship in front
of, you know, his family and friends. He
talked about how
his mom, you know, uh was dealing with
uh some type of sickness and she hadn't
been always able to come to the shows.
Um and she was able to fight her fight
and she was able to kick out and that
was a nice update on how his mother is
doing. But there's a reason why he
brought that up. So the fact that she
was able to be there cuz she hasn't been
able to come to a lot of these shows and
be on the road because of you know just
her recovering. So this was a special
moment. His family was there. His mom
was there. And you know this was a
moment for him to win it, you know, with
all the people that he care about in
Toronto and to beat CM Punk. And
ultimately that was taken away from him.
everything had aligned up perfectly. It
was all taken away from him because of
Sami Zayn. And he said, "Sammy, you
know, we've we've had our issues. You
know, I've caused, you know, you some
pain and and vice versa, but what you
did, that's unforgivable for how
everything was lined up for me. That's
unforgivable. Unforgivable. We're going
to cross our paths. Best believe. But CM
Punk, you know it. I know it. Everyone
else knows it. I beat you. You were
beat. If it wasn't for Sami Zayn, you
would have lost. So CM Pump being a a
fighting champion that, you know, he's
always down to scrap with anybody that
has a discrepancy. He comes out there
not wasting no time. Nick Aldis tries to
break them up. He's like, "Look, bro, we
can run it now. We don't have to
actually wait. Let's run the [ __ ] right
now. Which I love that about CM Punk.
Then you hear Gunther's music hit.
Gunther comes out there. Kevin Owens
doesn't even really give a damn. He just
wants to run the fade with CM Punk.
Kevin Owens doesn't give a damn. Nick
Alders is trying to control things. And
then that's when he uh Gunther tells uh
Kevin Owens, I'm so glad that your mom
kicked out. It's just unfortunate that
you weren't able to kick out. which I I
really do love. Gunther is very good at
just being an [ __ ] and it's
fantastic. Then you had Finn Balor. Finn
Balor comes out there and Gunther being
an ass that he is, he's like, "Look, the
ghost of Finn Balor is here." And
basically Finn Balor is like, you know,
hey, I want my opportunity. Hey, Kevin
Owens, you had yours. You unfortunately
lost. Now it's time for me to get my
opportunity. So that's when Nick Alder
says, "You know what? What we're going
to do, we're gonna go ahead and make a
triple threat match between Gunther,
Kevin Owens, and Finn Balor to see who's
going to be the number one contender to
face CM Punk in the main event. So, that
ultimately ended up getting set up. So,
after that, um I believe Chelsea was
teaming up with Tiffany to go against
Nia and Lash Legend in a tag team match.
Now, here's the thing. I'm not looking
forward to denia vortex with Chelsea,
but
I'm not the biggest fan of what they've
been doing with Chelsea. I know they've
been selling up the injury. I know she
came out there with the bedazzled face
guard and earlier in the match, you
know, Nia and the clocking her in the
face and she was selling the injury.
They had officials out there trying to
see if she's okay. And then she runs
back out there to help Tiff Tiffany
because Tiffany's by herself and she's
trying her hard. you know, she wants to
make sure Tiffany has some backup. But
ultimately in this very match, Nia ends
up pinning
Chelsea Green. That's the second time
Chelsea Green as your WWE Women's
Champion has gotten pinned by somebody.
I'm not liking it. I'm not liking it. I
I As the WWE Women's Champion, you
should not be getting pinned multiple
times. I'm just being honest with you.
I'm not a big fan of what they've been
doing with Chelsea and it doesn't make
me feel any confident that when Chelsea
does ultimately face Nia Jax that she
wouldn't lose that match. Now maybe they
could pull a swerve and have Chelsea
actually retain. That would be nice.
But, you know, I'm I I'm losing
confidence on them doing that because
you had your WWE women's champion get
pinned not once but twice already in
non-title matches. That's kind of crazy.
So, I don't know. I I would not be
surprised if they have her lose again
against Nia for the women's title. I
don't want that to happen. But I don't
know what they're doing with Chelsea.
Once again, I know she's dealing with a
legit injury, but I just don't like what
they're doing with her as she's been
this, you know, this loser of a
champion. Like, I'm not a big fan of it.
I'm be honest with you. So, I hope they
fix that and maybe [clears throat]
she retains against Nia, but I I don't
know if they will do that. So, we'll see
how that plays out. I'm not the biggest
fan of them doing that to Chelsea, to be
honest with you. Um, next we got to talk
about the segment I truly truly enjoyed
and I cannot wait for how things are
going to play out for Sunday night's
main event. And this is honestly kind of
the story in the feud we should have got
at Wrestlemania this year between Cody
Rhodess and Randy Orton. So, there is a
no
uh touch clause. So, they can't put
hands on each other at all. If they do,
they ultimately end up losing any WWE
opportunity for good. They can never go
for the WWE Championship. And before
Cody goes out there to, you know, talk,
Finn Balor's talking to him. He's like,
"Look, man. I'm trying to see what's
good with you, bro, cuz it seems like
Randy got you in a weird place, and I
just don't want you to go to a spot
where you can't come back from. I don't
want you to get to that point. I've been
there before. I don't know if that's
something you should want to do. That's
what Ry's trying to get you to and I
don't know. So, just be careful out
there. Which once again, they're
planning I hope they're doing something
with it, but they're really planning the
idea of Cody just snapping and I want to
see it. So Cody comes out there and he's
basically talking about, you know, how
um, you know, this whole situation with
Randy and how it's kind of transpired
and he basically says Randy Orton likes
to blame him, blame everybody else but
himself. Randy has been the type to get
so far and then mess himself over. He
did it early in his career. Well, he
gets so far and then he screw himself
over and then any other time if there's
any other situation where he has an
opportunity to break a record or do
something, he screws himself over and
blames everybody else. And that's when
Randy comes out there. Randy comes out
there and he's, you know, he kind of
acknowledge what Cody's talking about
like, I get it. I have I have messed up
and you've been there for some of those
mess ups. In fact, you was the guy
driving me around during those moments
where I was messing up. You was the guy
carrying my bags, being my [ __ ] and
you was raising your hand, willing to do
that. Now, me saying that, does that
make you want want to hit me? Does that
make you upset? And at this point, you
knew what Randy was trying to do. He was
trying to get Cody to mess up his future
opportunities at being the WWE champion
cuz Randy has said his mission is to win
15 but also to make sure he never wins
another WWE championship. So now Randy
starts talking about his dogs like man
where's your dog been at? Such a
beautiful dog. Used to bring him in the
back like where is he? Did he die? Did
your dog die? Did you have to bury him
in the backyard with while your
daughters watch? Like I was like, uhoh.
Uh oh. He's getting real disrespectful.
You never talk about a man's dog. Then
he brought up his his mom. He said, I
know we're going to be in your backyard
back at home for Sunday night's main
event. Is your trailer park trash mom
going to be in attendance so she can
watch me kick your ass? Now Cody's
taking off the suit jacket. He's un
loosening the tie. He's ready to snap.
He's like, "Go ahead, hit me." Then he
goes even further. He says, "You know, I
wonder if your trash of a wife is going
to be there to watch me beat your ass."
And now he he's begging him like, "Hit
me. I know you want to hit me. Go ahead.
Do it." But Cody, he's like, "See,
I knew you was going to do this. I I
know you. I knew you. This is exactly
what you were gonna do. It's okay
because on Sunday, Sunday night's main
event, we're gonna find out if you're
like my father, a once- ina-lifetime
generational talent, or are you like
your father's or or are you like your
father, just a general mess up, a guy
that just messed up things? And I like
that because they've really pissed off
Randy. the fact that Cody said, "Are you
going to be like uh are you a
generational talent like my dad or are
you a a perpetual [ __ ] like your dad?"
And I was like, "Oh, that was so good."
If you know the history of of Ry's dad
and some of the things that's gone on
and how things have not always worked
out for him. Oh, that's that was so
good. And you can see Randy, he's
selling it like, "You've gone too far.
You've gone too far." But he couldn't
hit him. He's like, "See you Sunday." He
walked off. He turned his back and Randy
wants to hit him with a RKO, but he
can't because they can't have no
physical contact. I love this segment.
This is the type of energy we should
have gotten for Wrestlemania without Pat
McAfee, without TKO involvement. This
was great. I am really looking forward
to this match. I man, let these guys
tear each other apart. Oh, I can't wait
to see how this is going to transpire,
how far they're going to go. very
excited for this for Sunday night's main
event. Also, there was another backstage
segment before the main event. Kevin
Owen runs into Randy Orton and you see
Randy Orton say, "You know what, Kevin?
I should have listened to you. You was
right about Cody." And Kevin was like,
"See, man, I've been trying to tell you.
I was trying to tell you this entire
time about him, man. You just didn't
want to listen." And he was like, "Look,
we're not friends because you did, you
know, drop me on my head, so we're not
friends." And Kevin O was like, "You
know what? That's fair. That's cool.
Look, I'm about to go handle a situation
out there in the ring. We We can We can
catch up. We can get back to this." So,
I like they addressed that. They
addressed that. Their hatred for Cody
puts them on a level playing field.
They're not friends because of how
things transpired, but there's their
there's that level of understanding and
respect because they hate Cody. [ __ ]
hilarious. So, we get to the main event.
Get to the main event. Triple threat
match. Solid match. Fun match. But
ultimately,
the match doesn't matter. It ultimately
gets messed up for one Sami Zayn as Finn
Balor hits a clean cudra on Gunther.
Clean flush. Looks like the match is
done. Somebody pulls
uh Finn Balor's foot out the ring and
it's Sammy [ __ ] Zayn. Then Sammy
proceeds to throw Finn Balor over the
announce table. Then he clocks the
referee. Sammy's lost it. He punches the
referee, knocks him out. Knocks him out.
Then all of a sudden another referee
comes out there because I believe it was
KO ends up hitting I think KO ends up
hitting uh GA with a stunner. Another
referee comes out there and Sammy
tackles the other referee. Tackles him
knocks him out too. So the referee can't
even come in there to continue the match
to call any type of pin, any type of
finish. CM Punk comes out there. CM
Punk's on timing said, "Fuck it. Let's
go. I've been wanting to run it with
you, Sammy, since last week." So, they
start brawling. CM Punk gets the best of
them. He throws him into the barricade,
starts trying to gouge out his eyes and
throws him into the ring post. Sammy
gets into the ring. CM Punk follows.
Then CM Punk and Kevin Owens, they start
throwing hands, but Sammy picks up the
WWE Championship and he cracks uh I want
to say he ends up cracking Kevin Owens
with the title. I think. Yeah, he ends
up cracking Kevin Owens with the title.
Then he ends up uh cracking, if I'm not
mistaken, Finn Balor with the title.
Then Gunther got a pop from trying to
choke out Sami Zayn. But then he ends up
cracking Gunther with the title. And
then the last person standing was CM
Punk and he ends up cracking CM Punk
with the title. And he's standing tall
as everybody's been KO'ed, no pun
intended, by Sami Zayn. and he's ruined
this match. So, I'm really interested to
see what they're going to do here to
rectify this. This is the second week in
a row Sami Zayn has ruined a
championship opportunity match for
somebody. They need to all put them in a
match together and they all jump them.
But overall, I enjoyed how uh Smackdown
ended and overall I enjoyed the show for
the most part. This was actually pretty
pretty solid show for me. And uh I'm
just really interested in what they're
going to do with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn,
Finn Balor, Gunther, CM Punk. I love
what they got in the main event scene
there. Randy Orton, Cody Rhodess. Love
what they got going on there. Wish they
would do something where it doesn't have
where you don't have um Tiffany, not
Tiffany, uh Chelsea Green getting packed
up as champion. Hopefully they can fix
that. But nevertheless, definitely did
enjoy uh Smackdown. And those were some
of my favorite parts of the show.
Comment down below. Let me know. Did you
