There Might be TWO Nintendo Directs Next WEEK!

Well, folks, we're back again with another video, bringing you the news live from PAX West. All right, guys. Here's the deal. We're giving away a Switch, too. Hey, all you got to do to be able to enter is just be subscribed to the channel. Pretty cool. All right, guys. We have some news we got to get to today. Lots of Final Fantasy stuff today, which is great. Uh we have some Final Fantasy Resonance uh demo dropping on Switch one and Switch 2 today. We got to talk about that one. Tons of stuff on Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. And so we got a lot to go over with that. Might even show you guys some footage of the game here because we got a whole bunch of stuff. Release dates, ton of crap, right? Uh we got the Japanese sales charts to go over, of course, to let you guys know what's going on over in the land of the rising sun. And hey guys, uh we have a update to the Switch app. A really interesting update that I kind of wish was there from day one, but hey, it's there now and that's what really matters. Uh they did update NSO again, adding some new games. And guys, like this is the big story of the day. Uh, Switch Force may or may not be teasing that he knows about a direct. We have talked about this direct ad, Infinidum over the last week, but two directs, two events. Is he just hedging bets? I have no idea. We got to talk about it because he has teased and leaked things in the past. All right, guys. So, we're going to go over our first story here and talk about Final Fantasy Residence. As you see here, a demo arrives on Switch One and two today. So, they say here it may have been revealed during the Sony State to play showcase, but us Nintendo fans can get involved, too. Final Fantasy Resonance is getting a free demo on Switch 1 and 2 today. The demo encompasses the game's entire first chapter, and you'll be able to carry all your save data over to the full release if you like what you see. For those who have missed this one so far, Resonance is Final Fantasy's first foray into the wonderful world of HD 2D, adapting part of the brave XUS story line from the 2015 mobile game. It features returning characters from the series as powerful visions and marks a long- aaited return to some classic turn-based battles. The demo will be coming out way later today, but before the full game launches on October 22nd, so it might already be out by now. I'm not really sure, of course, guys. Uh I am just catching up on a lot of this stuff from the State of Play. Sounds like it was a pretty banger State of Play, to be honest. But you're not here for that. You're here for what's relevant to Nintendo, and that includes more Final Fantasy stuff because we have updates on Final Fantasy 7, including some new footage I'll show you guys here. Uh but hey, it does say that Final Fantasy 7 Revelations release date has come out. Uh and it is happening on April 8th, 2027, the exact same day as everyone else. So really not that far away. They really meant when they said first half of next year, they meant literally first half of next year. So it does feel good to have a firm release date so soon after the initial announcement. And this comes obviously via that state of play we talked about during which a bunch of gameplay was also showcased and you guys are seeing some of it. Uh, beyond all of that, uh, it does look like, uh, it's going to be a game key card, unfortunately, on Switch 2, but it is because it is 130 gigabytes. It's quite a bit, guys. $70, of course, USD, which is no surprise. That's been kind of the standard price for uh, Square Enix's AAA games for a while. But more than that, uh, they're going to have an expansion pass with Sepharoth and Turks DLC. So, this is really, really interesting. So, here's the official information from their press release. So, it says, "The Final Fantasy 7 Revelations Story Expansion Pass. This product includes an accessory reclam choker and survival set, story DLC 1, Sepharroth, and Story DLC 2, Vincent and the Turks. So, you end up getting that accessory with the Reclamation Choker and Survival Set, which is an accessory that slightly restores HP when enemies are defeated, and a set of items that will aid you during the early stages of your journey. The story 1 DLC has Sephro. The story 2 DLC has Vincent and the Turks. And it says the story expansion pass will also be available for individual purchase after the release of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. Story DLC 1 and Story DLC 2 are planned to be released between winter 2027 and spring 2028. Story DLC 1 and Story DLC 2 will also be available for individual purchase after their respective releases. And they do say, "Please note that the contents of each, their planned release date, etc. are subject to change without prior notice, which isn't a surprise. It just means they don't have things firmly locked in like they do with the April 8th release date for Final Fantasy 7. So guys, that is some really cool stuff. I am super stoked at what they're doing uh with Final Fantasy 7 Revelations. And we're going to learn more about it here actually at PAX West. We're going to be part of a panel. When I say part of it, we're going to be there and we're not actually part of the panel itself, but we're going to be in the media section for a panel on this game. And I don't know what else I can tell you, but let's just say I might know a lot more about this game after this upcoming weekend. And I got to leave it at that. NDAs and all of that. Uh setting that aside, guys, uh we have to get to our next update as well. And this one deals with the Japanese sales charts. So Elden Ring uh launched for Switch 2 over there. And that's kind of notable here as it debuted at the number two spot for Switch 2 with 27,64 units sold. Uh couldn't beat out Rhythm Heaven Groove for Nintendo Switch. That one is still dominating their charts right now almost at a million units with 34,688 units getting its total of 945,929. You see the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2 released on PS5 and Switch 2. Uh you see the PS5 version is actually the higher one at number three moving 12,691 units while the Switch 2 version is at number six moving 8,624 units. And nothing else is really new on this chart besides Final Fantasy X and X2 HD remaster for Switch 2. That one chimed in at number seven at 6386. And then Captain Tubus' two word fighters for Switch. That one or World Fighters, correction there for Switch at 4,384 units. Then we get to the system sales and well there's Switch 2 at number one yet again as we're accustomed to at 22,265 units. I had worried it might dip below 20,000 for the first time ever. It actually went up over last week. So that's really exciting. Uh it has now moved 6.2 million units in Japan. Pretty crazy. on its way to 6.3 and beyond. PlayStation 5 digital edition is at number two at 6,969 units. They've now moved 1.4 million of that version of the PlayStation 5. Then you see the rest there with the Switch Light, Switch OLED Switch, PlayStation 5 Pro, the Xbox, PS5, and then the digital edition Xbox and Xbox Series S bringing up the rear. All right, guys. So, yeah, Japanese sales charts are always a lot of fun. You know what's also really fun? Getting updates to the Nintendo Switch app. I can't believe I'm even saying that out loud. How the hell is it fun? Well, they added something to it that's extremely useful that I wish would have been there the whole time and I know it's annoyed me as someone who's a content creator taking screenshots, sharing things online. It's really disorganized. They fixed it here. So, here we are over on Nintendo Life where it says the Nintendo Switch app update adds some handy new features. Nintendo has already released multiple game updates this week and it's now rolled out a new software update for its Nintendo Switch app on mobile devices. This is the first update to arrive since earlier this year in March. It might be not be the most exciting patch and I disagree with that based off of the feature they added, but it does come with some handy features. So, here it is. It's version 3.5. They added the ability to filter and sort uploaded screenshots and videos. Yes, I have been waiting for this feature since the app launched. This is insane. This is a basic feature. Being able to sort and organize your stuff and find things. Thank you. Okay, let's get back into the rest of the update. Uh, they added the ability to delete uploaded screenshots and videos from the server. And they added the ability to display the data a file was captured on your console instead of the current data when saving a screenshot or video to your device. This can be changed from the app settings menu. That's a really nice addition, little quality of life. And then they did some small bug fixes and improvements. So guys, I look, normally I don't cover app updates, but like this one actually added a useful feature that should have always been there, but it wasn't. So it is what it is. Let's get into NSO, baby. So, uh, three classic games are now available for the Nintendo Switch Online members. This is for the NES. Ninja Gaiden 3. Hell yeah. The Ancient Ship of Doom, Akari Warriors, RC ProAm 2. You're seeing the trailer right here. It looks really cool, guys. Honestly, look, some of these games I didn't play. I did play Ninja Gaiden 3, however. Had a good time. that you're seeing on screen right now. Uh, The Ancient Ship of Doom was actually one of my favorite NES games that I rented from Blockbuster. Interesting. I used to get most of my rentals from uh ah what do they call that? Family video or whatever. But in the end, uh Blockbuster had the better selection. So, I ended up playing it there. Then you see RC ProAm 2 uh going off here. And if we skip a little bit ahead, you're going to see Warriors as well. So, guys, pretty exciting stuff. I think uh I just like that they keep adding new stuff. I wish they would add Gamecube games faster. I think all of us are hoping for that, but we have to make do with what we have. And now we got to make do with our last story. Another rumor about next week's direct. And this one seems to be hinting at something that I hadn't really considered uh until now. And I guess this is something worth talking about. You see Switch Force here. So it says the kids say 67 and he is saying 810. Now Switch Force has leaked directs in the past. Maybe he caught wind of this one now because he's been speculating on it for days without any really direct knowledge. So people were taking some of what he said and being like, "Oh, Switch Force said Switch Force was guessing." But this is the kind of thing he would do to tease directs in the past. So 810, why would he be saying 810? He's not saying August 10th and he's not flipping it around. He's not saying, you know, October 8th. No, no, no, no, no. This seems to be suggesting there will be something Nintendo some sort of event on the 8th and some sort of event on the 10th. And those are the two days we keep hearing about. Is it possible they split up the Zelda 40th from the General Direct? It is possible. A lot of us would assume just combine them together because why would you? But maybe not. I I don't really know which way to go with this one, guys. Uh we've talked a lot about it. We're getting closer and closer. The only thing I'm confident in, we will get a direct next week and we will see Zelda's 40th. We talked about before, hey, Nate the Hate is making a podcast about Zelda's 40th and more. and that's releasing apparently on Friday. So, it would probably be happening because Zelda's 40th is being celebrated next week, Ocarina of Time blowout, all of that stuff. Also, I'll just toss this in here. Again, I don't really cover this guy, but like Nash Weedle sort of suggested that there would be a uh previews being dropped for Ocarine of Time the week after next week. So, like sometime around the 14th. I think that's weird. It's the same week Fire Emblem comes out. I think it's weird to overshadow Fire Emblem the week it comes out with previews for Ocarina of Time, a game that people would be more excited for. But then again, maybe Nintendo's going all out and every week moving forward, starting next week, there's going to be something new Ocarine of Time, which is exciting for me, but you know, it will overshadow things a little bit. Will it actually hurt sales of Fortunes Weave? I have no idea. Hasn't come out yet, right? Uh, and we have no idea the interest level in it until it comes out. Obviously, Fire Emblem is usually a decent seller for them, but uh, will this end up being as good as Three Houses? And not just in terms of quality, but in terms of sales. I don't know. But what I do know is we are apparently seeing Zelda next week. That's exciting. And obviously maybe they split up the direct. Maybe it's altogether. Maybe Switch Force is just guessing again and hedging his bets and picking two dates. I don't know. I could reach out to Zach and ask directly, but I always think it's rude to do that of my friends. If they're putting stuff out there, they want people talking about it. That's what I'm doing. We'll see what happens. If there's any additional information on this, maybe he'll clarify it in a video today or tomorrow on his channel.
