Video summary
The video captures a live trading session on August 14, 2026, where the host navigates a volatile Friday market characterized by significant gaps and uncertainty ahead of major economic data releases at 10:00 AM. The primary focus is on identifying high-probability setups while avoiding traps created by erratic price movements, particularly in technology stocks like Cisco Systems (CSCO) and Applied Materials (AMAT). The host expresses skepticism about going long on the broader market due to low volume and a lack of conviction, noting that despite the S&P 500 making new highs, the underlying sentiment feels fragile. Consequently, the strategy shifts toward selective shorting or waiting for clearer signals rather than chasing every upward gap, especially given the looming consumer sentiment number which could potentially bomb the market.
Throughout the session, specific attention is paid to Nvidia and Chevron (CVX), which present more promising opportunities despite their own volatility. The host identifies a solid long position in CVX that performs well before being exited for profit, highlighting the importance of taking gains rather than holding through uncertain periods. Conversely, Cisco becomes the central battleground where the host attempts to execute a short trade targeting a break below key support levels around 112.01. The commentary emphasizes the difficulty of trading on Fridays when volume is thin and market participants are often on vacation, leading to "snail-like" price action that requires patience and strict risk management. The host repeatedly warns against over-leveraging or holding positions through the weekend due to the potential for unexpected news events, such as those involving Tesla or SpaceX, which could impact prices overnight.
As the trading day progresses, the market exhibits a struggle between upward momentum from previous rallies and the pressure of pending economic data. The host successfully exits a Cisco short position after it briefly breaks down but fails to sustain the move, illustrating the "fast train" approach where trades are entered with precision and exited quickly once the setup is invalidated or the target is reached. This disciplined exit strategy allows the trader to preserve capital and avoid being stopped out by the inevitable market rally before the 10:00 AM news release. The session concludes with a reflection on a successful week overall, where perfect exits were achieved on several trades, reinforcing the philosophy that in an unpredictable environment, knowing when to get out is just as important as knowing when to enter.

But at the same time, AMAT is a
worth watching, too.
>> [sighs]
>> This is definitely open and definitely
spreading.
Wow, that's really spready there. Look
at that.
Yikes.
I don't know what we're doing today. I'm
not leaning on my keyboard. I'm watching
Cisco. I'm watching AMAT. We could do
the video long.
I mean, I haven't gone long in 100
years, but
we could do the market long.
Cues are rallying. Doesn't make sense to
me, but
I mean, it's gapping up again.
Uh, let's just keep watching things a
little bit here. I don't think anybody
should be in anything yet.
Want to do the market?
It's going to hit.
It's already hitting.
Stop would be 732.90.
We could do 734 by 732.90. It's a big
stop, I know. You could do an option if
you want.
And then we're just kind of take it up
for a buck.
If this doesn't hit, I'll go back and
look at the AMAT, but the AMAT may not
set up. I was kind of in the fence with
that to begin with.
No, this isn't ready, either.
It's not ready, either.
Okay, we're back around to Cisco. Cisco
babisco.
Okay, Cisco stop is going to be 11330.
Oh, this isn't ready either. Nothing's
Nothing's screaming take me, take me,
take me. Okay, back around. 734 is valid
if you want to do it.
734 by 90.
And actually, if this doesn't hit like
in the next 2 minutes,
I don't think this is going to hit.
>> [clears throat]
>> Again, this is a long. Don't get
confused.
And
I'll go back and look at the Cisco, but
we could get a little tiny, tiny move in
this.
734 is valid.
Again, this is a long.
It's like Friday the 13th, but it's the
14th.
We go long, it is like Friday the 13th.
It's like the Twilight Zone.
No, it's not ready.
And this doesn't look good at all.
No, Cisco isn't ready.
Apple's not ready. This I'm not going to
deal with.
All right, I I'm Here, let's look at
oil. Actually, we didn't look at this.
This is creepy, creepy, creeping up.
Now, I don't see a day trade set up in
this today, but this looks like it's
going to get to the number, the 200 if
you're in the calls.
I have no ideas.
No, it just broke the low.
I've got bubkes. Here's Cisco.
Stop's going to be 11380.
Tight, tight, tight.
Let's do 60. 60 by 80.
Cisco short.
There, get it if you want it right now.
Get the stop in just to take it down to
yesterday's low. If we can get there and
out. That's it. We're not going the
market long. It's wiggling and jiggling
too much and A M A is a disaster.
I wasn't crazy about this gap to be
honest with you. We're going to talk
about that more later.
And then Joan, remind me. Joan had a
question.
K P R, we didn't do this yesterday. It
did work. This was Bob's pick. Is Bob
here?
Um there's no volume in this.
What's happening here?
Here, this is trying to go. Nvidia's
long.
Nvidia's long. You could do Nvidia here
if you really want to do it. I'd give it
a big big big big big big stop though.
I'm in this. Here we go. Did we break
the low yet? You could do Nvidia long.
Yes, we did. 36.
You could still do this if you want to
do it. Let's double triple check the
stop. Again, you could go long Nvidia if
you want, but it's a big stop.
It's a big stop and it's already going.
So, that was a maybe.
Um I hope this holds here. Make sure the
stop's in. 11380, it's
do or die.
I don't like these
uh
I don't want to say late play, but it's
kind of late.
I almost want to see this immediate
strength in this.
And you're sort of not seeing it here,
but this very well could hold. I mean,
this is a decent bullish gap. You know,
we haven't done Nvidia in a long long
time. Market's falling. I don't know
why. We have a big big big number out at
10.
Huge number out at 10:00. Here we go.
Cisco, if you didn't do it, you could
still do it right in here. Cisco, big
number at 10:00. It's 25 minutes away. I
know it seems like forever, but actually
that could help help our trades.
That could be the one number this week.
Could be the end of the week, the Friday
number at 10:00. The consumer sentiment
number out could bomb the market.
It's
I don't know. I mean, again, I didn't
take away anything from yesterday's
numbers, even though the market did.
Wednesday to me was a nothing burger,
too. So, you know, who knows how we
react at 10:00 with the number, but
Here we go. Cisco Cisco Cisco Cisco
under 112.
Here we go. We've had a good week here
with day trades options.
I don't know. You mean, this market just
doesn't want to seem to to break.
And it you could go long it. You could.
I looked at the spy yesterday.
It was expensive to do out for a week.
And then it retraced. I don't know if
anybody even looked at this.
So, this was like I was like, "Oh, did
Should I have done this?" And I was
like, "No."
I mean, literally, it went up $5 and
totally retraced. I don't know if
anybody watched it. It was like This was
not the big trade that you would have
thought it would have been. And the spy
is the one that made new highs.
Go back over here. Here we go.
Oh, Ackman is uh long Netflix, too. Did
you see that?
Probably saw that. That was like 2 days
ago.
The AMAT. Yeah, that's why we're not
doing it.
Again, you can't short every gap down.
And you can't go long every gap up.
And Tony's pointing out that this is
crazy. I sort of agree with them. The
lowest 497,
and this ran up here to 517. That is
kind of crazy.
And it's still going. So, we kept safe
with that. This is a little snail. You
could have done nothing, or you could
have done this. It's a little lunch
money in here. Starbucks coffee. If we
can get it under 112, let's see where we
go.
Time of the day is 9:37. Again, big
number out at 10:00, which is going to
be another number that people are going
to talk about or that is the Fed going
to raise rates?
I don't know.
Here's TVX. Actually, here's an entry
long if you want to do it. It's already
going. You could put it at 198.10.
It's not half bad. It's a buck 20 up to
200. You could go long TVX right here if
you want to do it. But if you're in the
calls, I think you should be in the
calls.
It's I mean, again, if you did the trade
I called a couple days ago.
I don't know where this goes. If this
gets over 200, this could really go.
It's already over the area here. This is
a nice
solid This is the only thing I want to
go long right now. It's good and solid
and I feel good about it.
But you could do a day trade right here.
It's going.
We're in this. It's a snail.
Um again, this is snaily, too.
Where's this going?
I don't know. Maybe we get out of this
today. This has a good run up today.
Maybe I'll get out of this today.
All right, Cisco Cisco Cisco Cisco
Cisco. 9:38.
Again, big big big big big number out at
10:00. Michigan consumer sentiment.
How will the market react?
Nobody knows.
Nobody knows. Anyone still in the puts
in this? I am.
I'm still in the puts. Bob, are you
here? Is Bob here today?
I don't see Bob.
Uh I don't see him.
>> Oh, serene is still in it. Very good.
It was too herky-jerky yesterday. We got
a beautiful exit for the day in train.
But again, then it went
and then fell. So again,
Here we go. Cisco, Cisco, Cisco, Cisco.
Tesla was there news? I mean, I saw what
it did yesterday.
Again, to me this is just going with the
market. Unless there was some kind of
news on this.
Cuz I still like this lower.
Was there news out on this that I
missed?
Let's look at SpaceX.
I think that's just up today with the
market unless there was news I missed on
the Tesla.
This is falling.
People were in love with this, wanted to
buy the low in this they thought or so
they thought.
I think this is just stay away. I'm just
staying away from this.
This looks like it's going to come down
and break 135 again.
Happened in Nvidia.
This looks good. We're almost at 200.
It's a nice solid options trade that you
can rely on and we can even do another
trade here.
It's just, you know, how many trades do
we want to do? It's tough to do trades
on a Friday unless you really know it's
going to go
that day.
All right, here we are. I want to get
out of this with profit. I don't even
care what it is. We had a good week.
Got to get get it down.
Here we go.
Tony is long space X at 106. Well, if
you're going to hold it for the rest of
your life, I mean, it's fine.
But, technically, you could sell it
today with profit still.
What if it breaks 106? What are you
going to do with it?
Are you just going to hold it for the
rest of your life? Cuz it could come
down and break and break again. Here we
go. 112 112 112 and we're through and a
push. Cisco, anybody do it with me? Or
you could have done nothing today
because literally it was that kind of
morning. It was that kind of Friday
morning where it Again, there was only
thing to watch was A Mat and I wasn't
crazy about it and I'll explain why in a
minute. And we didn't do it, thank God.
Here we go. Under 112.
Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. One
more push. One more push. One more push.
Cisco.
I mean, this looks like it's going to
break yesterday's low. 48.
No news on Tesla, yeah.
I think it's just up cuz of the market.
Here we go. We're going to break it.
9:43 on a Friday in the summer and it
feels like summer now. Like everybody's
on vacation. It really does.
Look at the volume in the market,
actually.
Look at this. This is like
not even worth rolling out of bed.
Again, yesterday we rallied, but it
wasn't a lot of volume, either. So,
tough to really get
the conviction to go long. Again, you
can't deny the spy made brand new
all-time highs.
But, I mean, with this kind of volume,
we're like,
I mean, AMAT has more volume than the
market.
Cisco has more volume than the market.
I'm still in this. Did anybody get out?
You could have just made a little teeny
weeny 12 12 0 1.
943 number of 10 number of 10 number of
10.
We have any big things next week?
I think we do.
I think we have Walmart. I think we have
Target. I think we got the some
retailers next week that could be some
good ones.
You could be out of this. You could be
holding this. You could put the stop at
break even.
I definitely don't want to be in this
all day.
I don't think anyone's going to buy
this.
So, one
piece of conviction I have, I don't
think anyone's going to go long Cisco
today.
But, here's the market. Let's go back to
Nvidia.
No.
Here, we're over 200 in CVX. Let it run.
Let it run. Let it run up. Is anyone in
the calls? This was a nice solid trade.
When I saw this yesterday, I said,
"Whoa, I'm happy I'm in this." I'm very,
very happy.
God, look at this awful thing. Phew,
thank god we didn't do that.
Uh gentlemen long CVX and got out. Yeah,
that was a quick trade there. It was a
decent stop. I better not get stopped in
this Cisco just because of this market
rally.
We had had a perfect perfect perfect
entry. We would have got it in here.
We would have got it right in here snug
as a bug. I could have. I looked at it.
I looked at it before that hit.
Krishna got out.
Is anyone in this with me? Or did no one
do it?
Am I alone?
I'm not talking about the option. I'm
talking about the day trade.
Todd's in it.
Let's look at SanDisk.
Whenever I think of Todd now, I think of
SanDisk. This had a big move yesterday.
Is it the turnaround for this? I do not
know.
But it did have a huge move yesterday.
I don't know what it was or something
happened, but it was right here like
around 11:00. It ran straight up like a
rocket
like literally $200. Like it would I
don't know if something happened here,
but it went bump. Again, we do not trade
this. It's very expensive, but this was
completely insane. Was this responsible
for the Q's rally yesterday? I got to I
got to say yeah, to be honest with you.
Remember, this sector helps move the
market. Apple was down yesterday. A lot
of things I looked at market stocks were
down, but this ran up 200 $200
in literally 15 minutes and I don't know
why.
It had to be news or something or some
big buyer stepped in and and it lifted
the market. It held up the Q's.
Whereas the spy then retrace.
So.
Just one of those things.
Just going.
All right, here we are again now. Back
up again in the Cisco waiting.
Any questions?
Um any questions anybody wants to go
over? Joan had a question, anybody else?
We can just talk about some things here
while we're waiting for this.
Let's look at Joan's questions.
You shorted
APP.
APP
Oh, here goes the Cisco.
What day was this? The 11th?
I don't even remember seeing this.
Um was there a reason for this gap? I
mean, it definitely gapped. It
definitely fell.
I'm guessing you did a put.
I I don't even remember seeing that on a
scanner.
Here we go, Cisco.
But it did gap.
Oh, you shorted it.
You just shorted it. Very good.
And we're back around to the low 12
112.01.
Oh, this is just
One more push or then I'm going to get
out of it.
I think it's going to do it. Let's see.
But the 10:00 number could could help
it. Could hurt it.
>> I didn't really pay attention to what
the A matter earning said.
I I I looked at this.
I saw it. I didn't rate it last night.
Again, you never know what somebody's
going to look at in the morning. But
this is one where people are buying this
for a gap fill. You can I mean you can
see them buying it all the way up. We
didn't touch it with a 10-ft pole.
And we are we're back down.
But there really was no earnings this
morning. So it was only the last night
things, but
I find interesting that oil has been
rallying this week.
And the market has been rallying this
week. Usually it's the inverse.
So that that also I find very
interesting too. Oil didn't fall this
week.
Again, I don't think the controversy is
over with the war.
I think if anything's going to happen,
it's going to happen well before the
midterms, which are in November.
So I think it would be this month or
nothing's going to happen.
And it'll just drag on and on and on the
way it is like this.
With rhetoric back and forth and the
strait being closed.
I don't know.
Okay, this actually looks pretty good
even though it's slow.
Check this here. Where did we get to?
36.
Uh uh uh was a downgrade? Okay.
We'll go over in a minute. I just I
might get out of this any second here,
so I don't want to look away.
Any second.
We did very well this week with the fast
trains. That's the name of the game and
it's going to be next week the same
thing, too. Again, it's the end of
earning season, it's the end of summer,
it's fast trains, which we normally
should be doing anyways. Um you know,
the market is strong. I mean, it's made
new highs in the spy. The Qs are they
finally going to make a new high? I have
a question mark. I really don't know,
but they might.
They might.
7:48.
They're definitely closer now.
Oh lord, this is really very slow.
So, the number
could make us rally more.
The number could make us
drop. Although, I really don't think
we're going to drop anywhere big
because I mean, people don't seem to
want to sell right now.
For whatever reason.
People are holding tight to their longs.
Otherwise, we would have dropped.
So, even if we fall, I don't I don't
think the sell-off will be big.
Unless something else happens today, but
I don't think it's going to be that's
really on that number.
Plus, I don't know what's happening here
with that.
Where is the SpaceX?
Again, you can watch the SPX get out of
it today if you don't want to hold it
over the weekend, or you can hold it
over the weekend. Again, a lot of times
things that have happened news-wise do
it does happen over the weekend.
When they bomb or shoot or do things,
you never know.
Well, I guess we're going to be in this
for the number. 9:54, here we go. 6 more
minutes and we'll know.
We'll know something.
It's really like finding a needle in a
haystack
when
there's not a lot to look at. I mean,
you really have to just decide your
you're like, okay, this could work.
Or I do nothing. I mean, that's
literally, you know.
And you have to be careful, you know.
And you're like, okay, is this worth the
risk? Like yesterday, I thought this
should have continued more, but you
know, the market rallied.
We had a great exit on this yesterday,
though.
Here we go. Under 112, Cisco. Here we
go. We just got the push.
Here we go. Come on. Come on. Come on.
Come on. Come on. Squeeze it out. See if
we can get it down to 80.
955
Come on.
This looks good.
Here, we just broke 90.
Come on. Can we get it to 80? Can we get
it to 80? Can we get it?
One more push. I'm almost out of this.
Come on. 83
Woo! Here we go.
Break it.
There, it did it.
Out. That's it.
I don't care. Good enough for a Friday.
And it feels like the 13th.
>> [laughter]
>> But it's the 14th.
And this probably keeps going. Wow.
And we're out before the number.
But the number could help.
So, there we go. And we had a solid
week. I came into this week I said we
are going to have a good week this week,
and we did.
We did. We had perfect exits on things
this week, too. The last 2 days
we really did. But this could keep
going.
It Here, it is it's at 73 now. Look.
Did it break 70 yet?
Now, 72.
I got I got that push down.
Is anybody still in it?
Gerard's out, too.
