If you can follow along on the graphic,
there's uh four main letters, A, B, C,
D. And for each of these letters, these
are more or less sensors or
decision-making points where we need to
test what should be coming in to what is
actually uh created. And so if we start
at the A, we know for solar energy the
two main things that are going to impact
the solar energy is going to or the
solar energy generated is going to be
temperature and solar radiance. Each
manufacturer of solar panels provides a
warranty
uh based on these two things. So, if we
can collect what is the temperature,
what is the solar radiance, then we can
estimate in part A what that uh
generation should be.
We move down to B, have another sensor
there. This is where we measure the
actual power generation. And so we can
compare this to the warranty to see if
from the warranty perspective the panels
are working as intended. So, the panels
are one manufacturer.
As we go from B to C, now we're looking
at the inverter manufacturer. So again,
measuring sensors, what's going into the
inverter on one side versus what's
coming out to do that compare and
contrast is the inverter uh working as
warranted.
Moving along from uh C to
C to D or even C to the grid
um is looking at the amount of energy
that we're putting back on the grid and
is the electric company providing us the
one-to-one credits. And so this is
looking at predictive maintenance for a
homeowner that lets a homeowner know,
"Hey, there's a problem." And the
problem could be A, B, C, or D, but it's
letting the homeowner know because of
this set-it-and-forget-it
motto is a myth.
