Video summary

The video features a comprehensive review of a massive Ulta haul consisting primarily of viral drugstore makeup products, with a few high-end luxury items included for comparison. The creator begins by testing the L'Oreal Tinted Balm collection, noting that while the foundation offers excellent hydration suitable for mature or dry skin, its application can feel slightly sticky and heavy initially. In contrast, the accompanying multi-use balms for blush and highlight received a harsh critique; the reviewer found their formulas too sheer, messy, and disruptive to foundation wear, ultimately deciding they were not worth keeping despite their pleasant fruity scent. However, the L'Oreal lipstick in the shade "Fairest Nude" was hailed as an exceptional find, praised for its luxurious feel, unique nude-pink hue, and ability to provide hydration without compromising on quality. Moving on to NYX products, which make up a significant portion of the haul, the creator's experience is mixed but generally leans positive regarding specific items. The "Crazy Lift" brow glue was surprisingly effective at holding stubborn eyebrows in place all day, though the reviewer disliked the messy application process required to coat the hairs thoroughly. The "Soft Matte Buildable Foundation" in shade 08 Vanilla was identified as the brand's best complexion product for the reviewer, offering a lightweight texture that works well despite her preference for non-matte finishes on dry skin. While the concealer showed promise with a natural finish, it required extra blending steps due to separation issues, and the translucent powder was deemed too drying for her skin type, though potentially suitable for oily complexions. The review concludes with the creator's final thoughts on eyeshadows, lip liners, and high-end items that left her underwhelmed. The NYX "Lid Lingerie" matte eyeshadow in "Beige Appeal" was loved for its perfect neutral tone and blending capabilities, whereas the metallic version failed to mix properly and felt runny. Among lip products, the NYX "Lip Lingerie" stain in "Tease You Later" stood out as a favorite taupe liner that does not oxidize or turn orange on her lips, while the Maybelline "Upstate" gel liner was celebrated for its long-lasting wear and stunning cool-pink shade. Finally, the high-end purchases from RMS Beauty and NARS were disappointing; the RMS palette appeared lackluster compared to Dior quads due to lower pigmentation, and the NARS liquid eyeshadow flaked excessively when layered with other products, leading the creator to advise against purchasing it based on her initial impressions.

I have quite the hefty Ulta haul today. I ordered a bunch of stuff that I've seen very viral all over the internet. Majority of this haul is drugstore products. Just some items that I feel like everybody and their mother has tested besides me. So, it was time for me to get on it. And then there's a couple high-end luxury items that I wanted to get tested. I've got to be honest. I mean, this video is going to have swatches, demos, the whole nine because I'm wearing all of the products. Um, this is a very important haul because so far on first impressions, there's some good stuff, but there's a lot of mid stuff here as well and some not very good. You guys know me, no filter here. If I don't like it, I don't like it. I don't care. I will let you know. So, you're going to want to watch this one. Let's start off with what prompted me to place this order in the first place, and that would be this L'Oreal balm collection. I have heard fabulous things about this L'Oreal tinted balm. It's infused with hyaluronic acid. I have it here on the right side of my face. And I liked it. I think with my brush it did look a bit streaky, so it took a little bit of extra time to pat in the product to make it look smooth on the skin. One thing I will note is this definitely feels very, very hydrating on the skin. So, I think this is a good option for mature skin. I'm not quite sold on the application yet. It doesn't blur over the skin or anything. It has like a light medium amount of coverage. It looks good. It felt hydrating. It did feel slightly sticky, slightly heavy. I'm only on like the first hour of wear. So, that's one of the most important things about foundation. So, I can't tell you that. But, I like how it looked. It wasn't like obsession at first sight, but I can see as somebody with dry skin this product is favored. So, we will see. I I have a good first impressions, but there are some things that definitely need to be tested with this. As always, make sure you're subscribed to my channel because I do have a series called speed reviews on my channel where this video is not the first time you're going to hear about this foundation. I guarantee you if you hear me talk about a product, I throw these in my speed reviews drawer and they stay in that drawer until I've tested them thoroughly and then you'll get my final review on them. But so far, I like it. I don't love it, but we will see. It's in the shade 2.5 light neutral. That's what I got. And I mean, I'm not disappointed. I think that the reviews so far seem to be accurate. I just hope that this wears well throughout the day. Also, in the collection, I hadn't heard as many people talking about these, but I thought I'd give them a go. They also have these multi-use tinted balm to blush and highlight. So, I picked up one of the highlight shades. This is uh Amber Doré. Yeah, I don't like this balm formula here for the cheeks. This is like a Vaselini formula. It is a harder balm when you feel it, but it looks like a balm. It feels like a balm. So, when I put it on my foundation, it moved it around. It just felt heavy and sticky. And I'm very, very, very, very, very picky when it comes to balm products that I put on my face. They're very popular right now. And I just don't love all of them. And this is the exact formula of balm that I stay away from. So, this also doesn't give any pigment. It's clear. It gives just like a glossy look to the skin. So, do keep that in mind. Then, I picked up one of the blush colors in Rose Lumier. This does not have much pigment. It had to really be built up. It does have that balmy hydrated glow. We started off great. The uh glue isn't sticking. Now I got to go find this product that fell. Flew clear across the room. But that's okay because I I'm about to like throw this away. It's pissing me off. It's very sheer. Not a lot of color. And it's a balm. Like true balm that I don't want on my face. Messes up my foundation. Messes up the literal foundation that it was paired with. You know what? I just remembered something about this. This smells really good. But it almost smells like a little sweet, a little fruity, very subtly. I applied it and I was like, hm, this smells good. So, the foundation so far is a tentative, yes. The blushes/h highlight strong hard no. And then the last thing that I picked up from L'Oreal is a lipstick, which L'Oreal is a great great lipstick brand. I mean, you know, I love my high-end and luxury lipsticks. I'm not gonna stop buying them anytime soon. But I will say if you don't want to spend the money, understandably so. L'Oreal lipsticks like they feel super luxurious. I picked up the shade fairest nude. I just thought it looked so pretty and I was not wrong. This is such a beautiful shade that actually a lot of companies do not make they don't make them this nude this cool. Like I feel like all the warm I feel like all the nudest nudes right now are super peachy. Look at this. And it's thick. It's hydrating. It reminds me a lot of the Charlotte Tilbury Kissing formula. This shade is a freaking banger. It is so stunning. So unique. Love this shade. Fairest nude. This is This is a must pick up if you like this kind of lip color. It's unreal. Absolutely gorgeous. This is like the shade that I've been hunting for. So now I might be on a L'Oreal lipstick kick looking for shades like this because if they can do this, what else can they do, you know? So if you have a L'Oreal lipstick shade that you love, let me know. Amazing. Uh this ended up being like a 90% NYX haul because I don't know. I'm so behind on the NYX products and NYX is a very very viral brand. But the reason that I'm behind on them is because I don't really like NYX products that much. I think they're a lip. I wasn't talking to you, Siri. >> Something went wrong. >> Yeah, with you. Anyways, I don't really like NYX products except for their lip products. They have pretty unreal lip products. But I was like, okay, you know, since I've last purchased some NYX products, they've had a lot of new products come out. So, we have quite a few. I've heard some good things about these. So, the first thing that I picked up is the brow glue crazy lift. Now, the brow glue, the OG brow glue, was a very viral product a few years ago, and I couldn't get behind it. My eyebrows are so so stubborn where they will fall down. And this said crazy lift. So, I said, "Okay, let me try this just to see as somebody with crazy brows." And you know what? It did work really well. It is holding my brows really well. I do feel like my brows are going to last like this all day. They're not going to fall. Now, the applicator, I don't love it. It's this brush. It got the job done. I just don't love it. I prefer my Rare Beauty spoolie that's easier, but this does direct the hairs nicely. But this takes some time, the product as a whole, to like massage it into the brows, get it thoroughly coated, and then to style the brows how I want. So, while it's not my favorite application, it actually does hold the brows really well. So, that's really nice. It's one of the strongest hold at the drugstore. And it does have that glue like feeling in the eyebrows that I don't love once again, but it holds. I'll give it that. Um, I picked up a different shade of the Make them Wonder Soft Matte Buildable Foundation. The first time that I tried this, I picked up a shade that was entirely too light. And here is my problem with NYX. And let me know if anybody else struggles with this. I can never get a good shade from NYX. I am always buying the wrong shade. I have never once nailed down a good shade for me. And so the last time I tried this foundation, the shade was entirely too light. I'm always a light neutral, you guys. Always. But with NYX, I am never a light neutral. It's always so so light. So anyways, I thought I liked the foundation, but the shade was so so light on me. It was hard to tell. So, I ended up picking up a little bit of a deeper shade. This was an online order, and I don't even test these in store, so you still are buying blindly. I picked up 08 vanilla. It is still a little light for me, but it is it's much better. Like, it matches my chest fine enough. So, this is a shade I'm sticking with. And you know what? This is a nice foundation. Okay, it's a soft matte foundation. It's very thin on the skin, which I like. Now, I do have more of a dry skin type, so I don't favor matte foundations, but you know what? This one is not bad. So, I especially with complexion have a terrible history with NYX. Whether it be the shade match or the quality, this is definitely one of my favorite complexion products from NYX. I think it's very, very nice. Now, NYX is very expensive now, and I don't think a lot of their products warrant the price. I don't know if this one does, if I'm being honest, but it is definitely the nicest NYX foundation that I've tried. And if you're looking for a nice lightweight soft matte foundation, you know what? This one is pretty darn good, especially on the the left side of Ulta, you know, this is one of the better matte foundations. And then I heard some great things about this concealer. And I don't know, the packaging, something about this just looked like it was going to be juicy. This is the Wonder Snatch concealer. I picked up the shade 08 vanilla, which matches this, which again, a bit light, but you know what? for concealer. I could make it work, but I'd probably purchase a deeper shade. It did have that wet, juicy look that I was expecting from this. It separated on my under eyes, though. When I was blending it in with my BK beauty brush, I had to go in with a sponge to kind of press in the product and make it all look even. So, the application was a bit odd. When it was all said and done and sitting on my skin, it did look nice. It feels thin. It doesn't have a full coverage at all. It looks a little bit more natural. This has potential, but like I'm raising an eyebrow on it. Definitely going to have to keep using this one more. And then I also saw some good things about this Wonder Snatch translucent powder. I picked up the shade Sugar Serve. Not for me. If you have dry skin, I don't recommend this. This powder looks drying on my skin. It's very, very thin, which I do like, but it does blur. It does set, but I feel like it looks a little dry on my skin. And there's just a lot better powders out there, even at the drugstore that I think set better, smooth better, don't look quite as dry. So maybe if you have oily skin, this might be a better match for you. But I wasn't very impressed with this. And then you guys know I love my cream and liquid eyeshadows, so I thought I'd try the NYX ones. I thought these looked really nice. These are the lid lingerie. And so I picked up one matte and then one metallic shade. So the matte shade is awesome. This is the shade beige appeal. I love this shade as well. If you're around my skin tone, this is that no shadow shadow look. It's just a couple shades deeper than my complexion. It It's that got that look where it contours the eye. It It adds just a little bit of depth to the eye, but it's like, is she wearing eyeshadow? Is she not? Perfect. Perfect color. I did a whole video on those types of eyeshadows. I would add this one to the list. Blended out very nicely. Enjoyed this. Now, the metallic, be warned, it really needs mixed together, okay? Because it was pure liquid, and it still isn't fully combined, and I don't know, I don't know how much more I can do in terms of trying to get it all mixed up cuz it's all separated and watery. So, I would suggest really mixing it up, mushing it as much as you can, getting it on the back of your pan. You're not going to want to apply this all over the eyelid because it is runny. Um, so then I had to use my finger and then press it on. And the consistency of it once on the eyelid is really nice. It's about as thin as a powder. It actually ended up depositing a more subtle amount of color, a more subtle shimmer than what was swatched. I'm not super impressed with the metallic if I'm being honest. I made it work. She's pretty. It's fine. But I think the matte quality here far outweighs the metallic. So, I really would not recommend the metallic. Okay. And then the last thing I got from NYX of all the trending products, even though I hate a lip liner stain, like I'm getting closer with every single one I try, I'm getting closer to one that I enjoy. And I think this is absolutely my favorite one at the drugstore. This is the lip lingerie. You guys want to hear something funny? I have my monitor here because I film in the morning when my baby's sleeping. But the house backed up to our house, they run a daycare and the kids are always out back here playing. And so I hear kids crying. I hear them yelling and I think it's my child within my house. So that's what I thought I heard. Not my kid. Anyways, this is the lip lingerie lip liner stain. and this sh. Okay, so I've been on the hunt for the perfect the best lip liner stain that's like a taupe color, an actual natural taupe contour color, and we might have a winner. This one is so good compared to the ones that I've tried. This is the shade tease you later. Now, my problem with these style products is that they start off nice and cool and like that perfect taupey contour color I'm looking for, and then they dry down warm. Hopefully, you know what I'm talking about. But some of them just like turn a complete different color or they sit differently on the lips. This one's really nice now with the natural color of my lip pigmentation, which is actually quite pigmented. These colors turn berry on my lips. That's just how it's going to work when a stain hits my lips. So, I try to not touch my lips with this as much as possible and really just line the outskirts. And you know what? This is the perfect color. I love it. I think it's amazing. And it does not dry orange. It doesn't change the color from swatch. So, I can't say if it stains really, really well, if it lasts super long. I have to test it some more, obviously. But so far, the color it lays on is pretty perfect. So, I'm excited about that. Last drugstore product that I got, the only product from Maybelline that I picked up. So, I just picked up L'Oreal NYX and then this one little Maybelline lip liner. This is, I think, my favorite lip liner at the drugstore. I would say this is the lifter liner. And I just I have a couple shades and they're dupes actually for Charlotte Tilbury lip liners. And so I wanted another shade. I thought this one looked really beautiful. Upstate. This is just the most stunning light soft nude pink. And this paired with the fairest nude lipstick from L'Oreal. the most beautiful light pink not too warm nude ever. That combo is incredible. I mean, I'm wearing it right now. So, the combo that I'm wearing in the talking portion right here. You saw the lipstick with just this lip liner. The combo that I have on is the Tease You Later lip lingerie around the outskirts. So, that's what's giving it the depth. Then the Upstate lip liner from Maybelline. And then the Ferst Nude L'Oreal. Is this lip combo just not absolutely perfect? I'm obsessed. So, this is also a must. These lip liners are gel liners, so they start off creamy, they dry down, and then they don't budge at all. Um, these are extremely longlasting, and they have an incredible color range. Now, I haven't seen all of them in person. I only have three, so I'm saying they have an incredible color range. I'm lying. Don't listen to me. But the three I have are so incredible. Um, so I want to purchase some more colors of these to confirm because there's a couple shades I need from this range that hopefully they have. I'm looking for a nice cool taupe and we'll see. If they don't have that, then it's not a good range. But the pinks, at least the pinks that they have, the ms that they have, those are incredible. And this shade upstate is beautiful. And you know what? It's not too warm. Once again, at least for my complexion. I know my super fair girls, when I say something's nice and neutral or cool, you're like, "Uh-uh, girl, it's orange." Don't trust me when I say that. But like for my neutral, my neutral undertone girls who who like a little bit of warmth, like this is perfect. Okay. And then the last two things that I picked up are higherend items that I just wanted to try that they carried at Ulta. I cannot believe I purchased this. I so didn't need it, but you know what? I had a gift card, so it was free. RMS Beauty. They launched this and this is the first thing from the brand that actually caught people's eye. I said this was a drop, but here we are. This is the Red Dimension Daily Glow palette. And tell me this doesn't look gorgeous. And this formula from RMS is very, very popular. It does look smack like the Dior quad though. I'm going to have to at some point do a sidebyside, maybe in a short or something. Um, I wanted to love this. I didn't. Okay, I'm going to have to use it more because I used this light pink shade to set that awful balm, which it those two products did not look good together. So, I just need to give this a fair chance on like an actual good cheek day that I can layer. But these I'm think I'm comparing them too much to the Dior because the Dior just swatch beautiful slick, pigmented, wet looking. These swatch like powders and they aren't super pigmented which could translate very beautifully to the skin, but I wasn't impressed. These are absolutely a different formula than the Dior. Um, but I don't feel as though this got a fair shot today. So, I'm going to continue to use this. It's giving the lackluster sister to Dior if I'm being honest and it's kind of expensive. So, we'll see. But again, she's still in testing mode because I didn't test her with a fair base. So, that's on me. But I did pick this up, you guys. So, you'll see me use this a little bit more. And then the last product that I got is a new liquid shadow. I had to I said this was a shop. I was going to pick up one shade. This was a shade that I wanted and I think it's kind of ugly. I picked up the Nars Sparkling Seduction Liquid Eyeshadow. I don't recommend you buy this, you guys. I picked up Hot Property. Like I said, it looked really beautiful in the swatches. It's not very beautiful in person. I don't I just was thinking I was going to get the most stunning glittery rose shade, but it is a rose base, kind of mauvey rose, but it has like blue glitters in it. And it's just not a color that I like. It's not as pretty as I imagined. And it looks good on the eyelid. We'll see if it creases or anything, but okay. I put this on my eyelid. I blended it out. And then I went in with a eyeliner over top and I was smudging the liner. And this was literally coming off in flakes, which is a bad sign for me because there are plenty of liquid shadows that aren't going to flake after I layer over top. It sits pretty on the eyelid. I just noticed that when I messed around with it, it became flaky and flaked off. So, I'm not loving this. The first impressions of this is not great. It wasn't the color that I wanted. It's a little bit flaky. So, yeah. basically the most expensive things in the this video. Neither have impressed me yet. So, I mean, this haul was quite the experimentation because I mean there were some amazing hits like this lip the lip products in here, buy them, but everything else there were some good stuff, there were some missed stuff. There's honestly some stuff bad that I wouldn't recommend. But as always, like I said, I do need to test these products more. This is literally 1 hour of wear. have not tested these enough though. My first impressions tend to be pretty accurate. I've been doing this for years now. I know what I like with a product, so I don't think they'll change too much. But, you know, I don't want you to trust these first impressions right away. So, make sure you're subscribed to my channel because I am throwing these in my speed reviews drawer in front of me as we speak. And I will update you after I've tested them. I'm I'm testing so much makeup. So much fall makeup is coming out, you guys. I love it. But like my speed reviews drawer is crazy. So much good stuff. So, I hope you guys are enjoying all the new testing videos. I hope you guys enjoyed this video and I'll see you guys in the next one. Bye guys. Have a good one. >> It's delicious. >> Subscribe.
