The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary UILTIMATE Predictions!

The winner will be drawn on October 1st. Now, guys, we have to talk about Oh, man. We have to talk about 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. Cuz you see, tomorrow, I can't believe I'm saying this out loud, tomorrow, on the 8th, we are going to be seeing Ocarina of Time for the first time. We're going to be seeing a lot of crazy stuff for the 40th anniversary. I know a ton of YouTubers always plan out like these Let me do a pre-day 40th like prediction thing. And if you guys know, we've been making predictions for the 40th anniversary for Legend of Zelda for months now. Really dating back to when the 40th anniversary actually took place back in February. So, I thought instead of me just doing one of those little videos or even doing one where I gather up all the leaks because again, I'm at home and it takes a long time to gather all that stuff up, I can do something quite unique. And that unique thing is I can get my friends involved since we're all here in person. And ask them what they are predicting for the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. First up is Andrès Restart. Alrighty, folks. I had a whole intro planned for this. You guys will have heard that, but we are actually here with Andrès Restart in person. Not live, but in person because Zelda's 40th anniversary direct announced is happening. We need some predictions, man. We've been talking Zelda pretty much what brought us together. Truly. >> Yeah. >> On a podcast episode eight >> years ago. >> I don't even remember it. >> Yeah. There might be a lot of things that are last night you don't remember, but we're not here to talk about those things. We're here to talk about this. So, Zelda's 40th. What do you think's going to happen, man? >> Um well, yeah. So, because they're actually having like two presentations separately, the the general and this, it does have me thinking they're going more than just Ocarina of Time with some fanfare. Right? So, it is obviously Ocarina of Time. Like that that yes, and I project that's going to be more than one-to-one. Like there's going to be changes. Cool changes. Um I also Are we going to go back and forth? >> No, just it's all you, buddy. >> All me. Okay, all me. All right, so because of it, the movie trailer, they were going to see that. Also, it's time to announce the Zelda park expansion to Super Nintendo World. Um I think those are probably going to be like the three key things, to be honest. Um they may make mentions of some little stuff, merchandising. Hopefully the concerts come back. I've really wanted that for that to come back, especially with all the new Ocarina of Time orchestrated music they're probably going to do, right? So that's the bulk of it. I feel like there's probably going to be another little Zelda game. I'm not saying a new 2D Zelda, I feel like that's that's coming a little bit later. Um I don't think they'll show that off alongside Ocarina of Time, but I feel like there's got to be a little bit of something, maybe another NES trilogy, or like a Zelda 99 kind of thing, something else, I think. I don't know what it is, but something else smaller, I think, is going to be squeezed into the into the direct. >> All right. So what's going to make you need new pairs of riches for Zelda's 40th. >> Probably every announcement. >> [laughter] >> If I'm being honest. I mean, it's it's the celebration of the lifetime with Ocarina of Time finally being back. I you know, we just did the podcast. I'm a firm believer that this isn't going to be a true one-to-one. I think we're going to see Ocarina of Time bigger and better than ever before. What that means remains to be seen and I cannot wait for it. I think we're going to get some Zelda movie trailer, some sort of Zelda movie trailer, even if it's just a teaser, like a 30-second teaser, just to set the mood, set the vibe, and for the first time see the kingdom of Hyrule come to life to build that hype. I cannot wait for that. That will be a childhood dream come true. Zelda merch, you know, I think we're going to see some Zelda merch. Our wallets are going to cry on Tuesday. We're going to feel the pain, but I think the big hope and and I it's one of two things and I think maybe you might be on board with one of these two things is a one more thing at the end of this. And what I would love for that to be is either finding out that not only are we getting Ocarina of Time in all its glory this fall, but it's coming full circle. They're finishing up the era of N64 Zeldas with the promise of Majora's Mask now being in development. Whether it's a teaser trailer, whether it's an announcement that they're doing both. Or and maybe the safer guess, some sort of a tease at the future of mainline Zeldas. And I know you mentioned this on my predictions video, but I got to mention it here because I think there's something to that, man. >> Oh man, dude. Please. Zelda's 40th anniversary, Nick the beak. Well, I'm obviously we couldn't do this video without Tyler Stash, you know. Him and him talking loud, talking a lot of games all the damn time, a little bit of sports with today. Zelda's 40th is tomorrow. At least when they're celebrating the anniversary, obviously it was back in February. Got to bring it down a notch. We just had a wild one with Birdman. >> Yeah, I saw. >> So now, Stash is going to bring the deep knowledge, you know. What are your predictions for Zelda's 40th? >> All right, guys. So, fully orchestrated soundtrack. Okay? Um During the direct, they will say that you can preview the soundtrack right now on Nintendo Switch online with Nintendo music. Definitely happening. Um cut content. >> Okay. Cut content, guys. Uh You know, again, if you don't know the history, you can look it up, but so much dungeons, medallions, the magic was cut due to time back in the day, you know. We live in the day now where you can release a game and then patch it for 5 years if you want. Back then, you couldn't do that. And so, they had to get Zelda out in November of '98, and so I fully expect Nintendo to execute on the original vision, which will be new content for us because of that. So, very exciting there. Um we got to feed the Switch one owners, okay? 155 million switch one owners. Roughly 25 million switch two owners. The math is what's happening with those 130 million other people. You don't want to leave them out in the cold, especially when you have food that you could give them, right? Which is The Legend of Zelda. Also, uh that's not how you promote the first ever Zelda movie by saying, "Hey, we got you 25 million. The other 130, you know, you got to buy a switch two. I don't know what to tell you." You can't do that right now in this economy. I think Nintendo knows that, especially after a price hike. Um so, you got to give something to these switch one owners. Is it going to be Twilight? Is it going to be Wind Waker? Um and again, it can't be Twilight Princess on NSO because GameCube is locked to the switch two. So, you got to do something there. Um and I'm excited for it, and I bet that whatever it is, it will run a little bit better on switch two, just like Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 HD. It's the same play from the same playbook that Nintendo has ran for decades, you know? Um and then lastly, Zelda merch everywhere. This is the marketing runway, so to speak, to the movie. It literally starts tomorrow. >> All right. Guys, Stash just told you what it's going to be. It's going to be what it's going to be. Listen to this guy. We're going to hear We're going to see more about the movie. Uh part of me is wondering if the movie doesn't lean into Ocarina of Time a little bit and they're they're they're kind of a bit tied together. I don't know, but it's a great story and it would be That got me thinking. What if the link that we're seeing is young link? And maybe they haven't even shown potential casting for old link. Like yeah, maybe. We'll have to see. Um Of course, learning more about the game. I I literally think I'm going to sit and watch with my just my jaw on the floor as we get to see this game come to life how we've always like how we imagined it when we were playing it back back in the day. It was uh It was an incredibly special game back then and I think we're going to so many more people are going to get the chance to to relive those just amazing moments in beautiful HD wide screen better soundtrack, all the above. Like cannot wait. Um and how many times have we seen like this game done in like Unreal? You know, where it was like, "Man, that like I I think it could potentially live up to uh some of the things that we've seen just the you know, other developers that do it until they get their uh until they till they get told not to, right? Um so, yeah, I really do expect that. Um I like what Stash is saying a lot about like giving something to Switch. One It It feels like the time for for Wind Waker. You know, if we look back to like Mario's 35th anniversary, that was a that was jam-packed full of games. You had 3D World with Bowser's Fury and uh Mario 35. Like there was there was just there was so much that they were doing. They were doing events in Mario Maker, right? So I think there's the opportunity for more than just what we can like that we kind of already know about, right? And who knows? Maybe there's also some uh some statues, some ocarina, you know, like I could see like the Master Sword being, you know, like in the Temple of Time as like as some merch, something along those lines. Like I think they're going to go pretty hard with this one. And seeing the console, the controllers, all that stuff, it yeah, it's going to be it's going to be one heck of a show. And I think I think they're keeping the dungeons the same. We might get a new dungeon, but I don't think that they're redoing the dungeons. Cuz I think the dungeons make the game like really they make it what it is you know and it would change it too much into a different game but I think we we get new content with like side stuff or story stuff. >> Awesome.
