The FIRST Market Crash of FC 27

Video summary

The FC 27 market has experienced its first significant crash of the year, driven not by new content releases but primarily by widespread panic selling among players. Prices for popular cards have dropped substantially, with notable examples like Bradley Barcola falling from over 100,000 coins to around 85,000 in just a day, and other high-value assets seeing similar steep declines. The host explains that this downturn stems from uncertainty regarding upcoming store packs, the release of new meta players like Keegan Nazareth, and the anticipation of Division Rivals rewards which will inject more coins into the economy. Consequently, many traders are rushing to sell before potential price drops continue, creating a domino effect where falling prices trigger further selling as investors try to undercut each other. Despite the current crash, the video argues that this presents a strategic opportunity for savvy investors rather than a reason to panic. The host suggests focusing on cards priced between 20,000 and 75,000 coins, which are likely to rebound significantly once players receive their coin rewards from Division Rivals tomorrow. Historical data from the previous year is cited as evidence that markets typically flip after such initial dips, with prices rising sharply within hours of new content drops. While some high-end cards may see temporary volatility due to supply influxes from Team of the Week packs, the overall trend is expected to be positive, especially for players who bought assets at lower prices earlier in the week and are now holding them through this correction. In addition to market analysis, the video covers recent gameplay updates and content drops that influence player behavior. EA has released a minor patch addressing stability issues and bugs rather than making major balance changes, which aligns with their stated goal of avoiding early-game disruptions. Meanwhile, the community is preparing for the release of Team of the Week 2 featuring high-profile players like Mo Salah and Sophia Wilson, as well as the upcoming "Destined for Glory" promo. The host advises caution on selling gold versions of these new cards immediately after they drop from packs, predicting that prices may stabilize or rise later in the week as demand settles. He also encourages players to invest in rare Team of the Week 1 discard items and holographic inform cards before their prices increase due to evolving meta requirements and SBC needs. Looking ahead, the host plans to liquidate some assets while monitoring the market closely for the best entry points before the weekend's major promos arrive. He warns that Friday could bring further uncertainty if EA decides to release store packs, so he intends to keep his coin reserves flexible rather than being heavily invested in specific cards. The consensus is that while the initial crash feels extreme compared to previous years, it is a temporary phase caused by early-game volatility and fear of future content. As more players log on for the standard edition release and engage with new gameplay features, demand should naturally increase, driving prices back up and creating fresh opportunities for those who can navigate the short-term fluctuations without succumbing to panic.

Hey guys, it's Nate aka the foot accountant. Welcome back to the channel. We are less than one week into FC27 and we already have our first market crash of the year. And the funny thing is, it's not like EA dropped an insane SBC or a crazy store pack that made all of these prices drop. It was just because people started selling. We're going to talk about why the market has dropped and where prices may go today. But there's no reason to fear in fact because we're going to talk about buying cards today and investing for hopefully a market rise after division rivals rewards. Now, speaking of today, we have a huge team of the week 2 that is expected to drop in this game today along with the news of our first gameplay patch of the year. But EA saying that they're not going to change anything. We're going to discuss all that and more in today's video. If you're excited for this one, drop a thumbs up on it, hike the video if you can, and subscribe if you are new. Now, let's start things off by looking back over yesterday's content on Tuesday where we did have that 83 plus upgrade pack SBC that we mentioned in yesterday's video. I don't know why it's showing us 79 by two right there, but it's actually an 83 plus upgrade pack that gives you one player 83 plus. It is the new streamlined SBC type of SBC, which means you can only do it on the console and it's not that hard to do, guys. It's 2500 item score. Now, the SBC is downvoted because when you look at the cheapest way to do this, you turn in 384s and one silver card, which if you're turning in 384s to get one 83 plus player back, that doesn't seem like it's great value, but it's a chance at packing walkout. It's a chance at packing something good. I packed Isco from it, so I didn't get anything good. But if you're doing gold rles, if you're opening some packs from objectives, you're going to have the 84s to get this one done and the silver card to get it done super duper easy. So, I would at least try it because why not? It's the early stage of the game. An 83 plus pack right now means way more than it will any other time during the year. It is a simple and easy SBC to get done, and I really don't have any problems with it. I wish I could do it maybe once every couple days instead of just once and being done. But that's a nice little SBC for a pack that we got yesterday. Now to Evolutions we go where we had a new Evo and thankfully this one's not paid. It is free, but it's a max 74 silver EVO that boosts you to a gold. Now look at these overall stat boosts. We're talking plus 40s and plus 50s on some in-game stats here. We got Tikit Taka base that is being added as well as a couple of regular rolls or plus rolls, DLP plus and box crasher plus. This is a good evo if you want to start a chain. Honestly, that's what this is for. If you want to take a silver card and glow them up to a gold and then potentially have them evolvable in the next couple of weeks in the future, this is what this Evo can actually be good at. Now, it's a training camp evo, so you don't even have to use them in any games. is you just wait 6 hours, claim the progress. Wait 6 hours, claim the progress. And there are a couple of decent looking cards that are coming out of this. Musa Sissoko, the FIFA legend, fits in this one. Ethan Mbappé actually fits in this one as well with his 82 pace. So, pick a card that looks good for you. Or maybe skip it. I'm going to be honest, I don't have motivation for EVOs right now. The gallery has taken over my motivation over evolutions and the cards that we can create through Evo so far have just not been that inspiring to me. So, the gallery has been a lot more fun and I haven't been paying too much attention to evolutions. I don't know if you guys are the same. I'm sure evolutions will come up and be more interesting later on, hopefully soon. But at least right now, they're not that hype. And EA did say they're going to be a little bit more behind the curve this year than they were last year in FC26, which is probably, if we're being honest, a good thing. Now, the last part of yesterday's content was in objectives, and it is the refresh of the weekly rush points objective. This gives one of the most unique packs in the game that you can find right now outside of getting like division rivals rewards. An 84x2 upgrade pack. You can't really find those anywhere else. A couple of other decent packs in here as well, like an 82x2 and then there's another 83 plus single player pack. You get this done by playing rush 35,000 points during the week. If you want to chip away at this, by all means, feel free to do so. I think it's the most fun when you squad up with some friends. Come into the stream chat and say, "Yo, want to play Rush?" There's always some people that are down for that in the Discord. We have a couple of channels as well. If you want to say, "Hey, let's play some Rush." People will hop in and you can get your points together. Rush is not a bad game mode. It is just kind of like pro clubs dropins. You want to play with friends. You want to play with people you know. It's way more fun that way than it is playing with randoms. That's at least my opinion there. But I don't know if I'll be doing that because my focus is right now on division rivals trying to chase those rewards. But you got all week to get those rush games in if you want to. Now the biggest story from yesterday's content and yesterday on this game is definitely the market. And guys, prices crashing on the market for the first time this year. We're talking about a market crash that's pretty substantial, but not the craziest ever. Now, I think there's a couple of reasons why player prices dropped so much. But let me just show you how much they dropped. First of all, Bradley Barcoola, right? One of the best and actually one of the most expensive Prem left wings, I think the most expensive pre Prem leftwing in the game, went from 112,000 coins to start the day, Tuesday, to 95K. And heading into today on Wednesday, he's down to 85,000 coins. So, it looks like the market is continuing to slide even into today on Wednesday. Now, the big question is why in the world is this happening? But before we even answer that, I think we have to realize a lot of these players that dropped yesterday were actually so high up in price on Monday. Like Monday night into Tuesday, Barcola was 100,000 coins all day. Maybe it's the FC Pro ladder and some of that. Or maybe it was the lack of content on Monday in general that really made these prices go up even more. But then the switch flipped yesterday on Tuesday. And here's why I think prices on the market have crashed, guys. There wasn't a huge crazy pack that was released bringing more supply of Bradley Barcoolas and a whole bunch of other cards to the market. It wasn't a supply market crash. We have those sometimes. This is not that. Why prices have crashed is the fact that people just started panic selling. People started seeing that these cards were maybe dropping a little bit on the market or they maybe just felt like, okay, we have a big promo that's incoming. We got some pretty bigname players. We got a very hyped Keegan Nazareth that's incoming. or they just felt like, okay, the uncertainty of what is happening on Friday with maybe EA releasing more store packs, or maybe it was just the fact that, dang, that Barca's gone up a lot since he first came out, and maybe his price is a bit too expensive. Do people actually want to pay 100,000 coins for that Barca? All of those thoughts probably prompted some of the sales yesterday and then it's a domino effect or a snowball effect because a lot of people saw prices starting to drop and then thought, "Oh my goodness, the market's starting to crash. I got to sell. I got to get out." And with player prices being up as high as they were heading into the full game release and some of the reasons that we just mentioned, the new promo, the full game release, the worries about store packs and what could be happening with prices if EA released those. That probably created a scenario where there's less demand. People are thinking, I don't want to pay 100k for Barca with what could be upcoming on this game. We're getting a lot of leaks, right? The team of the week, the Destined for Glory cards, and all of that. So, if there's less demand, no more supply, but there's just less demand. This card's going to start falling. And then on top of that, you have the panic of people seeing, "Oh my gosh, player prices are dropping. I got to undercut." So, when you have people that aren't buying or don't want to buy, and then people that want to sell because they want to get their coins because they're panicking because they fear the market is dropping, you have this a market crash in which player prices do drop decently substantial amounts. I mean, take a look at Admy. 61,000 coins now down to 48,000 coins. This is a card oop McConnell that I was trading with a lot on the weekend. I remember selling this guy for 78,000 coins, even 80K on like Friday. He went from 61K on Tuesday down to 49,000 coins where he is at right now. Now guys, I know a lot of you bought these cards for even lower prices. We're talking back to last week when you first logged on to the game. Nessie was 30,000 coins. He's still 55K. Nico Williams was 30 to 40,000 coins. He's still 60,000 coins. Cherokee was 30K. He's still 60 to 70K as well. Yes, this is a market crash or a market drop off. But for some of you guys, you're still fine holding because these prices are way higher still than where you bought these cards. And I still think it is definitely a move to hold on to some of those cards that you put into your team. Now, if you're like Nate, I bought oop McConnell for 70,000 coins. He's 49K. What do I do? You don't panic. Is that is what you do because I think no matter what the market does today on Wednesday, this thing is going to turn around tomorrow on Thursday. Now, I want to talk about the market crash just a second more before we actually go into that detail. One of the other things I think prompted player prices dropping yesterday were the fact that so many people are moving towards what's now the meta. Kikin Azerith most hyped card in this game. Getting a promo card, right? This gold is going out of packs. There's a lot of people that invested in cards like a Barcola or a DOKU for their team or maybe another striker or center mid. Well, now that card's getting sold from a lot of people's teams because this is the new card. This is the new meta. This is bringing me Claudia Penaesque vibes with how high this card is going. An 83 rated card for 63k. I know her max price is 100k and she's going on a pack, but this is a card you absolutely want to sell in the hype because she's not immune to a crash as well in terms of her price. But that's where all the focus is going on the these new meta women's attackers and midfielder cards that are the most meta. It's what the pros are using this that and the other. That doesn't help a lot of these other player prices that we did see drops on yesterday. Now, I think we're going to see some more drops today based on how things are going, but those are drops that I think we actually want to invest in. Let me explain. I went back to my video last year, the first Division Rivals rewards of FC26, just to put a little bit of proof to why I think, and I've been saying this for a couple days now, why I think prices will go up on Thursday. Well, they did last year and this year with even more coins and more tradable packs and player picks inside of Rivals rewards, it hopefully will be an even nicer rise on the market. This is 87 Cole Palmer last year going from 42K late Wednesday night, early Thursday morning up to 48,000 coins all in the span of like 12 hours before the content dropped. This is what we're looking out for today on Wednesday. an investing opportunity. Or maybe for those of you who are seeing a card that's in your team drop down a lot in price from where you bought them, maybe this is an opportunity to sell your card at a better price after Division Rivals Rewards and therefore you're losing less coins or maybe you're even making some more coins depending on when you bought that card. But guys, I'm watching the market very close today. As you can see, I've got a lot of my coins liquid after trading a few cards here or there because I want to watch the market today pick up some cards. don't really know what the best moment in time is going to be today to pick some of these cards up. That is always up for discussion. It's probably going to be a different time for a lot of these different cards throughout the day. But what I would tell you to focus on is cards that are 20,000 coins to 75,000 coins. Popular players that people are going to be able to afford after getting their division rivals rewards tomorrow. With that coin injection, you're going to see this market probably flip a script. Now, there might be a few drops at Rivals Rewards. Of course, we're going to have some supply that hits the market. You know what? Somebody might be packing Diamande. List him up. Maybe he's 55K by the time we get to Rivals Rewards. But also, on the flip side, people are going to get coins. People who didn't have the enough coins to buy Diamande are now going to have them. And you're going to see prices like this rise back up. So, again, use this graph as a example of what could happen if you pick one of the right cards. And I think we'll see a decent rise on the market on those cards that are about 20,000 coins to 75K. Now, we might see some players more expensive than that. That move up in value as well because people are going to have more coins and that might mean a card like Vatinia goes back up to 150k where he was instead of being 130 and a D Young or a Celiba or a Mariona who's very hyped, right? And down to 100,000 coins. Those cards might go up as well. But that's what I'd be looking out for on the market today. So, we are in a market crash. the first one of the year because of how much player prices have dropped. But again, we're going to follow it up with hopefully an opportunity for some prices to rise. And then as we head into the weekend with the Destined for Glory promo, it's kind of a question mark for me right now. I'm going to be probably liquid with my coins, not invested in anything, and not anything in my team on Friday just because I want to see what EA do with the store, and that's just something that I want to be careful with. But hopefully we don't see any more huge crashes. As people are starting to get on the game Thursday night, the standard edition release of this game, you'll hopefully start to see some more price rises, too, as there is more demand for gameplay, more demand for building teams as there are new players getting onto this game. So, if you have any questions about the market crash and stuff like that, drop them down below in the comments. Of course, we had talked about maybe some prices dipping, but this is a little more extreme than I initially thought it was going to be. Again, we have a lot more coins on this market this year with so many more rewards just giving coins, but we're still seeing some of the same trends at least a little bit of a dip after the opening weekend like we saw last year and in FC25. Now, let's talk about today. Actually, sorry, before we do that, let's cover a little bit more news that happened yesterday relating to gameplay and demand for that. EA, I think, was scared to put out this tweet. I said this in the stream yesterday. The way this first sentence is worded, they're like, "We know people are liking the game so far, so we're just gonna press send on this tweet because they're going to make the first patch to this game, which a lot of people, myself included, don't really want anything to change with this game." But what they are saying that they are fixing are balance and tuning issues that are very minor, especially like some bugs and glitches. That's kind of what they're talking about here. And if you actually open this link up that lists what they are working on and changing from the patch that is coming out FC27 version 1.01. It looks like they're changing basically nothing. When we get to gameplay, and again authentic gameplay is what is played in career mode and kickoff. This is not inside of Ultimate Team. The only gameplay thing that is allegedly changing is sometimes players using a custom controller preset were unable to perform unintended various stability issues and then an ultimate team section here talking about a filter by evolution option where the ai would have become unresponsive. Seems like a very very small patch. Now, I'm always a little bit cynical when it comes to these because EA will say, "We're changing these very tiny things and we're not actually adjusting anything like big in the game. We're not tuning anything crazy. The gameplay should feel the same after this is over, but then something does feel different." And I hope I hope I hope that nothing feels different after this patch. Now, it says tomorrow, this tweet was put out yesterday. That means today we could be seeing this small update. So, it's going to be very interesting to see if we feel anything different after this small update today. I cross my fingers and hope that we will not because again, it has been an enjoyable start to this game and the game play has been a part of that. EA themselves said that they do not want to patch this game and they do not want to make big changes to this game early on. They said that again it's in the pitch notes and I would say that they are still living up to that word even though they're putting out this post here because they are literally just like fixing bugs. So let's hope that's all that changes. But we know when EA seem to do updates like this sometimes it's more than what they actually say hidden behind stuff or that's how it seems or just like they tweak one small thing and it impacts something else somewhere else in the game that messes things up. So fingers crossed nothing bad happens there today. Also, I want to point this out. We had the future stars card design leaked yesterday. This is going to be the promo after two weeks of Destined for Glory. So, this Friday, Destined for Glory 1, next Friday, Team 2, and then after that, most likely future stars coming for the first time in October. Usually a promo that is in February and even into March. Now, let's talk about today in terms of team of the week, guys, because today's actually a really interesting day for content with team of the week one leaving packs. And while team of the week 1 is leaving packs today, here's what I got to say. Start making some investments on the discard items if you have not. I would also say maybe try to stock one or two of the holographic cards. I just went through here and I bought some of the cheapest 10,000 coin team of the week cards that I could because guys, these are the most rare team of the week cards that will grace this market this year because only a portion of the game's player base is on the game right now. And these are cards that when you look back in a month, in two months, they will be fitting into evolutions. Their prices will be going up a whole bunch because EA will require informs and SBC's and that'll make these card prices rise. you will regret looking back in a month if you don't buy any of these cards. And I'm just talking about buying one and putting in the club. Like I spent probably I spent probably like a 100k which is more than what you would need to do but just buy one or two, right? And also if you have a decent amount of coins, pick up a Lucy bronze 86 rated inform and you know the holographic version of 50,000 coins is a bit of an increase in price and maybe not worth the investment. But picking up an 86 in form for 18,000 coins, this is the type of card that could end up being really interesting for the gallery and for SBC's if we do get a player of the month, Rafinia, who's expected to be the player of the month for La Liga with how much he's cooking. So, I would just say this is last call to invest in team of the week one and hold them for a while. Again, same thing with these cards that are holographics. The cheapest holographic informs are like 12 13,000 coins. If you've got over like three, four, 500K, I'd pick one up, put it in your club just so you have some stock there and we hold those cards until they rise. Now, for the rest of this team, they were impacted by the market crash yesterday, too. Nmentia is on the market. He got a price range update. He was extinct at 250. Now he's 228,000 coins. Rya is still going up. Tram is up. Doure is crazy high. And Lamin is crazy high as well. You can hold these team of the week cards. Um, but I'm just curious to see how expensive these are compared to team of the week two that is coming out today as well. Last mention on team of the week one. If you or anybody you know has a gold card that is going to be coming back in packs today, that means like laminia's gold card even tell them to sell. All right, sell please because Lamin Doue, they're going to drop their gold cards because they're finally going to come back in packs. I tweeted out yesterday 200k soon for this card because if Sophia Wilson is 200,000 coins, this card should probably be about 200,000 coins. Well, maybe 300k, but this card is going to get packed. She has very, very little supply since she had the team of the weekend packs. And that's going to make those cards drop. Now, this is team of the week 2 that is coming out today. Official stats. Big team of the week. I mean, big names. Oise, Sophia Wilson, Rafiniah, Mo Salah, Marquinho, Seño, Toiso is in there as well. Marco Roy even with a very solid card and Jonathan David actually looks pretty decent as well. This is a very good-looking team of the week. Claudia Pena did not make it in and her card actually was panic sold yesterday because she did not make it in. But this is a very solid looking team of the week that we will want to invest in as well. But the gold cards for these informs, that's what we need to talk about. As you saw on my transfer list, I took the cash on Muhammad Salah. I know this guy's going out of packs. I understand that. But after seeing cards like Admi, Konate, and others that were very invested in for this very specific, not very specific situation, this is different than Admi because he got a price range update. But cards like this get overinvested in, especially in the early stage of the game. I would recommend selling into the hype today on any of the gold cards. Maybe except for Oise and Sophia Wilson or Rafinia, but even those cards could potentially drop after content today because people will think that oh my goodness, Salah gold card is out of packs immediately. He's going to go up and when that doesn't happen, people start panic selling and the price drops. Now, this could actually create another investing window. If, and it's not a guarantee, but if Salah drops back down today, let's say he goes back down to like 17 or 18,000 coins, this could be another opportunity to invest because he will be out of packs and the people who are panic selling those investments will be out of those and you'll have that card slowly start to rise during the week as again, Salah is still a player that a lot of new people logging onto the game might actually want to use. So, that's one thing to watch out for today with this new team of the week. And the last thing to discuss with the new team of the week today would be store packs. I know we didn't get one last week on Wednesday. We got it on Friday. But just to kind of make this known, Wednesdays in the future could be days where EA put packs in the store because they know people will want to open packs for the new team of the week and try to get those cards. So, that is one thing I would watch out for. Could that impact the market a little bit more today with some supply? It could. It's not a guarantee. It is just a possibility with the team of the week today. Now, also for today, Wednesday's content, I mean, hey, we've got an SBC every single day so far of this game. Hopefully, we would get something else today, whether it's a challenge pack SBC or maybe a player SBC. We're still looking out for some aerodyizzy squad foundations. That's kind of all that I would expect. Maybe an SBC and that team of the week coming out today. Don't know if we would have anything else happening in objectives or evolutions. We will just have to see. Today is the last day though to get those rivals points in and done. And it's going to be sweaty. It is going to be rough out there trying to get 30 points. So, I'm going to try to get my 30 here. We're on hot streak. I'm going to try to get into division six as well for a little bit of an increase in rewards. Division five is where it does get a lot better. But guys, watch the market. Today I will be investing all of my coins between today and the morning on Wednesday and then tonight late Wednesday night before Division Rivals Rewards. I might be trading in between those times a little bit too. Maybe with some of these hero cards that are super rare and fluctuate super crazy in price, but I will be buying some golds, maybe some team of the weeks. We'll see today on Wednesday. Make sure you come by the stream because we'll be talking about it all. And if you have any questions about the market and why it dropped, make sure you drop them down below in the comments. If you enjoyed this video, drop a thumbs up on it and subscribe to the channel if you're new. Guys, have a great Wednesday. I will see you in the stream today. It's been Nathan. Have a great one. Peace
