Hey, what's going on everyone? We are back, me and Lamont for the drop, a snowfall saga, episode two titled Street Matrix. Wanda gets a new job, but street violence threatens to unravel her music dreams. Leon forced to settle a street conflict. And Lamont, my goodness gracious, was it a street conflict. Guys, this is going to contain spoilers. So, if you haven't seen the episode and you don't want to be spoiled, go watch it on FX. Come back for all of this spoilery goodness. Oh, Lamont, we ended episode one, In the Neighborhood of the Bloods, and Lamar was like, "F it. I don't give a damn. I'm going to play my tape right now and risk all of our lives." And he did that for the better. Artillery came out. I ain't nothing but a rider. And it was nice. I liked it. And I said, Lamont, and we talked about in our recap that, you know, I wasn't just completely in love with the first episode. Not to say that it was bad, but it just wasn't grabbing me the way that I really anticipated, but by the end of the episode, I was like, man, I cannot wait to see what happens next. And I feel the same way with episode 2. It was much shorter, about 40 minutes. in the very beginning of the episode still just wasn't grabbing me. We did get some questions answered that we're going to discuss, but by not even by the end of it, by by the middle of it, I was like, "Oo man, this I'm I'm pissed off. I had there was one character I did not like in that episode, but now he's one of my favorites, and I don't blame him for being so upset." You know, it's probably we talking about Daryl right here. But before we get into all the nitty-gritty, how did you feel about episode two? Did you like it? Did you hate it? Are you somewhere in the middle? Please let us know, sir. I am very, very curious. >> Well, you know something, honk maniacs. No, [ __ ] that [ __ ] I love this episode. I loved it. This was fantastic. Me and B Avery said on the very first review we did that some of these shows, they start out being a slow burn and they pick up the pace very well. And we also both said that if there are two um streaming networks or houses of movie and TV shows that we trust that never miss with TV shows, HBO never miss. FX never misses. Matter of fact, FX was on the curve of being the the the um pioneer of On the Edge TV, and this right here is no different. Ladies and gentlemen, I loved this episode from the beginning to the end. There was a lot of street matrices going on. Hell, you can almost say that the real Matrix was up in this [ __ ] for black folks. And it got really, really good. So, I am thoroughly enjoying this and you guys should just buckle on in cuz this is going to be a sweet ride. And they finally introduce what they're going to do with my boy Leon because I was a little worried. I was a little worried about what they was going to do with his character, but now I see what they're going to do and I am here for it. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm here for it, too. I'm here for it, too. I love how, you know, they're establishing and expanding these relationships uh specifically between uh James, Lamar, and Wanda. You know, they're brothers and she's the cousin. Uh we got a little timeline um uh exposition in the middle of the episode cuz it's been about 7 years since Snowfall. I think Lamar right now in the 1990 is 19 years old and they said that um in the snowfall years he was 12 or 13. You know, Wanda was on crack. You know, I I forgot who the character was, but she she was so far gone she beat somebody in the face with a skate. I know you remember that in like season five or season six. And uh this is still coming back to haunt her because uh Mama G is like, I don't want to have nothing to do with this woman, man. years ago. She did this, she did that, she stole. And I I don't want to I don't want none of that part of my life. It was haunting her in episode one. Is haunting her just a little bit more. Uh well, not as much, but in this episode two. Uh so I like the establishment of the timeline, but the episode starts off just like episode one ends. And they're leaving the Blood's neighborhood. They're leaving Artillery and Dar's house. And uh at first I like Dra. I don't anymore. probably obvious, but we going to get to that. And I want to ask you this first. What is what are your thoughts between Lamar and James, his older brother, because he's doing that tough love? Like, bro, you don't know what you're talking about. You arrogant. Do you realize the situation that we were just in? You're just going to say effort and do what you want to do in somebody else's house. I mean, I don't know. It's It's rude, Lamont, to go into somebody else's home and not say hello, not let yourself be known. But it's also 10 times rude to just be like, "Hey, I want to be DJ and play whatever music I want to." It ended up helping them for the better. But going back to my original question, uh, James is being really hard on his brother like, "Man, you need to stop uh, living in fantasy land and tread uh, softly because you're going to get us killed." Is he being too harsh or is he saying exactly what needs to be said? Man, that one's tough because, you know, I've I've I'm from the hood and I've kind of had my experiences in being in the street and worked jobs that kind of had me in between the street and a legal gig, but you would make more money with street life than you would the legal gig. And so, I understand what Big Brother is trying to say. But I also understand Lamar and I understand that, you know, he's that young kid that's green, wet behind the ear, sees a dream that he wants to chase and he doesn't understand the aspect and the risk of danger in the street because right now all he can see is the end goal of what that dream could be, which you do need some of that in order to chase that dream. And I think big brother's just trying to give him a reality check of the dangers that are going to be involved in chasing the dream. And so at first the big brother was getting on my nerves a little bit, being a little too overprotective, but now it's starting to seem like he's kind of reeling in a little bit and being a little bit more streamlined, way more so than Big Mama G. And I can appreciate where he's at right now. And I think he needs to kind of maintain some of that energy, which it seems like he's still letting you know that these streets is dangerous, but at the same time, I want you to try to get to your dream. And it looks like he might wind up helping Lamar get to his dream. By the way, I love the name Lamar. It sounds very close to Lamont. Cuz white people used to always call me [ __ ] Lamar in the cab when they was drunk. When I would say, "My name is Lamont." They say, "Mamar, I say no. Lamont. Lamar. Lamont. Lamar. Lamont." >> Right. Right, right, right. >> But I like the name. >> Yeah, I I do too. Let me ask you this real quick. He wasn't a pivotal player in this, but I want to kind of get him out of the way. How do you feel about Vance, uh, one of the the the white guy in the suit that's kind of hovering over James like a helicopter trying to keep him in check, trying to, you know, not have him blow up the spot and ruin everything that he builds. I know we like to ask each other how much do we trust a character here and there, but how are you feeling about um how you feeling about Lonard Vance and his involvement of the show so far? >> Oh man, that lawyer eventually I can see him turning, man. I can see him turning like a dollar store blind. His ass is going to turn sooner or later. That's a fantastic actor by the way. I've seen him in quite a couple of things. He is going to turn. And when he does turn, ladies and gentlemen, you can cool believe it's going to be one of those mean turns where you going to be like, "You should have never trusted a white dude in a suit. You let him get too close to all your deep dark secrets. He's going to use that information and be aver." >> Right on. Right on. >> No trust. >> I don't I don't I don't trust him either. um you know he just of course he's only in it for the money and you know in life you know you gota I mean and that's expected you know I wouldn't I'm not thinking like oh he cares about us and he wants to be our friend and you know but still you know um there there is honor in men and it doesn't seem like he has much but I could be wrong but we're we're going to have to see but I'm just like him and don't trust him he got a bulletproof vest on too apparently u that u uh DG Daryl was uh talking about help Let me understand something though. When before Wanda came into the studio, before she came into the booth, they were exchanging money and he was like, "I'm sick. I'm I'm sick of these dudes with these light stacks." What was he talking about? >> He's talking about basically all his anyone he's been he's working with or try to step to that don't understand what it's like to live with big money. So, a lot of people in the street that make a lot of big money like to portray that they understand what it's like to live with big money. But the cats he's dealing with don't understand big money and the ramifications of big legal money. Because when you've got big legal money, it's totally different from big money in the streets in general. And so, I think that that's what he's highlighting that they don't understand what it's like to really be dealing with money. and he would like for them to get their mind right and start trying to be on the level he's on and dealing with real money. >> Right on. Thank you for the breakdown. I I just wanted to make sure, you know, I was kind kind of headed in that direction, but I just needed a little bit of clarification. You know, I may miss a thing or two. What is also interesting to me, man, is the mechanics, the economics, the politics of just having to go from neighborhood to neighborhood un um um um uh I can't think of the word hidden. The bridges is gonna use that right there. so you don't get your head blown off. What I mean exactly is artillery is a blood and he has to go into the Crips neighborhood to have a studio session in Lamar and James' house, but he has to ride in the back of the mailman's truck. And I'm just like, wow, is this really how they how they get down? You know what I'm saying? That's just real interesting to me right there. Hopefully he can get some Vaseline and some Neosporin and rubbing alcohol to take care of his wounds and all of that. But um that that was interesting right there. We see James comes in and he's pretty pissed off as well. Um how do you feel about that whole transition right there, him having to infiltrate and also James uh popping off rightfully so in my opinion because he sees artillery in his bed well not in his bedroom but in his house like how how you feeling about all that in that exchange. Um, Lamar dropped the ball on that one because Lamar had a whole plan where the way Artillery was going to get back was through James and he didn't let James in on nothing. And the reason he didn't let James in on nothing is because he knew James wouldn't be with it. But he felt like James would be with it to get Lamar I mean to get Artillery up out of there because he wouldn't want no smoke coming toward the house. And at the end of the day, I think that James is going to have to keep his guard up, but he's going to have to loosen up a little bit on artillery because obviously you shown that you're okay with your little brother bringing them together with the music and you're okay with artillery himself. Maybe you ain't okay with all the bloods, but you are okay with artillery. So, you're gonna have to use that that guard rail to just help Lamar get the music together, help get Artillery together. And at the end of the day, you know, Big Brother could be the street hood legend that Leon is if he can keep Artillery and his brother making music together because what that'll wind up showing is that there is something that can bring together these two fashions to do something good. And that would be good for James. And I'm I'm rooting for James, too. Like, I like him. I think he's a little heavy-handed. He's a little heavy-handed. >> He is. But I'm rooting for him. But it also makes me think, like we said in the first review, he's going to die >> eventually. I forgot about that. I don't I don't want him to die. I don't want him to die. Something else I really did like about that scene is how Lamar stood up for himself. You know, he didn't he was like, I'm not going to have y'all fighting in the house. Okay, let's make this music. But even when Artillery left and then that other guy, his other friend, um he charged him up like, "Hey man, why you messing up my session?" You know, like what's going on? You tripping. I I like that. And he really stood his ground. He 10 toes down. And so uh of course Lamar is not going to win in a physical fight. Uh but you know, I I I do appreciate the fact that he was like, "Man, I'm really passionate about this. I'm not giving up. You know, you tripping, you know, and so um you know, I I no, this is not going to go down. you're not going to punk me out of a session. So, y'all let us know what y'all think about that, too. Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Let Let me just add this. I like how Lamar has been standing up for himself in his dream against his big brother >> these both of these two episodes. He even stepped to Big Brother, put his hands on him, and I'll say this, I like the control restraint that Big Brother has had toward Little Brother. >> Oh, yeah. >> Because he he could easily whip Little Brother ass. >> Yeah. And he doesn't he shows controlled restraint. He without putting hands on him lets him know the danger of his behavior and what his behavior could cost without per se, you know, destroying his dream. And that's what I was most worried about Big Brother would do. And he hasn't done that. He's been on the edge. Like he's almost been there, but he hasn't. And that is just the telling of some great fantastic writing. Somebody know what it's like to have had a little brother in this situation and a big brother in that situation. Shout out to the writing team. >> Yeah. Yeah. Shout out Shout out to the writing team. Um y'all are doing a hell of a great job. Uh I appreciate I appreciate everything that y'all are doing so far. Now also uh we got to talk about Wanda. Um she got a promotion. She got a promotion. Uh but before her, she's riding in the car with DG and they're going to go see this white lady right here, Miss Jenny. And um and DG, you know, um he has a he has too much pride and uh you know, of course, we're going to talk about what happened to him. Uh but he don't want Wanda speaking over him, but I like the fact that Genie came through and was like, "Hey man, let's just be real right here after she's sniffing lines and stuff." That we would not even be in this situation if it wasn't for this young lady right here. So, why don't you make her the manager or why don't you make her the head of ANR and so we can get this money, get these uh these these contracts signed. I won't give you a full label, but I will give you a single and um yeah, given the tour of the house, probably a few million dollars. Probably it is a few million dollars what I'm talking about. Probably over 10 million. I'm tripping. Definitely. Yeah, I'm that's definitely a $10 million home. Uh how you feeling about Jenny, man? Are you throwing her in the fire with Mr. White Man that you don't trust Mr. Vance or you think she can be her true ally uh in in this uh in this show uh with these characters? >> Well, first of all, she's about to get my first nickname. Junky ass Jenny down there snorting cocaine like she was out there playing in the snow, just making a line. Okay, but I like Junky ass Jenny. We know her weaknesses and we know her motivations. her dad owns the company and she don't produce her dad is going to be pushing her out. So, she's feeling like she's up against the wall kind of in the way a lot of women felt in that early 90s era where if I don't make a certain amount of production, the men who don't really do [ __ ] can come and get my job. And that's what she's feeling. And she's the one who also said we need to take our music more edgy because she saw the future. So, Jenny is definitely an ally. We're going to had to keep her junky, keep her in party mode, and keep her on our side. And Jenny is going to take us from the block to the record contract. So yeah, we got to keep junky ass Jenny from the block helping us. >> Having said that, she is also a buffer for big homie Gail Bean. Shout out to Gail Bean, who is looking marvelous in this role. like them throwback outfits. The way they got your hair, sis, I can't say enough about how great you looking and playing this role. She's going to be a she's going to be a a blocker for this character in this season and that's going to be where we see the girl power kind of do that thing. So, yeah, we got to keep Junkie Jenny be Avery and I trust Junkie Jenny. As long as we know when she's high and when she's not, we can trust her. >> And I I got you. I think that and on IMDb they don't have uh her character name by her profile but I believe this is Genie right here. Uh is Adora Gorster. Uh I don't recognize her from anything else. Um if y'all have let us know in the comments section below. Oh, Grey's Anatomy I saw but I recognize the show but I didn't watch it. Um I didn't watch it. Uh but yeah, man. Uh great cast. Also, one thing I got to add. Um, this whole show just seems so real and authentic, bro. Like, I love the costumes, the makeup, the wardrobe, the music. Even when we're in Lamar's room, like all of his posters on the wall, like it just nothing about this show, this entire production seems artificial or fake. It it really feels like they did their homework that needed gritty and was like, you know, we got to have even the carpet right, the door knobs, like everything has to be perfect. >> And also something else that I noticed about how they shoot a lot of these scenes is a lot of it is the cameras on the ground looking up in a wide shot. And that I don't know, I mean, I haven't seen every movie and TV show that's ever uh been uh uh published or produced, but that just really stood out to me. And so um >> go ahead. what Be Avery is saying, audience and to um the individuals that watch our show who helped make this show, we're giving you guys love. We're giving set design love because y'all did a fantastic job on this time piece. That's what this is, our audience. This is called a time piece and they're doing a great job. Cinematography, fantastic. I mean, you move you move the camera the perfect speed. And sometimes people a as someone who might not be into the nerdy stuff like me and B Avery, we recognize that and you all never get enough credit. And we're going to start recognizing your names, too. You guys are rolling that camera at the perfect speed with the perfect angle so that we get enough, but we still want more. I noticed that the way y'all kind of surface around Gail Bean's face. I mean, my god. makeup, wardrobe, everybody on this show is doing a fantastic job and we want to make sure that folks don't forget that you guys are the ones helping make this thing be magical as well. >> Yes. Uh the writer of the show or creator of the show is uh brother Malcolm Spelman. I just want to give him some uh praise real quick right here. This is what the gentleman looks like. Malcolm is known for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2021 and also Captain America: Brave New World and Belair. And uh just to toot my own horn a little bit, I was able to speak to him uh 5 years ago. I only got one or two questions, but there it is right there for the Falcon when a soldier through Africa. But great job, Malcolm. Uh you're doing a great job. You're doing a great job. Now, um we also uh we got Leon in here, of course, he's coming into the fold and um he is at his legal clinic right now. And so this is where we get some answers as far as where the money that he got six, seven years ago from the end of Snowfall, what he's been doing. And uh I I like that because I was asking like where's the money? You know, y'all y'all had a few million or you know what's going on. But I like the fact that he is trying to invest in his community. He don't want to deal with crack no more. He wasn't into rap at the time. He was like, I want to help my people in my neighborhood uh legally. Uh but he may not be an expert because they're bleeding money. They're paying for appeals out of the pocket for bad cases. Um, you know, with all the gang violence, they're losing donations and this and that. They're just losing cases left and right. But do you think this is the right move for him to try to invest the money in a legal clinic or do you think they should have invested somewhere else? Should they still be in Ghana? How how you feeling about all of this uh that we're learning about Leon and coming into this episode and what what what's going on with the legal clinic? >> I trust Leon, he'll get it right. He his heart is in the right place. But often times folks, we've we're living in MAGA America. >> Just because your heart, your mentality, your empathy, and what you're doing is in the right place, does not mean you always get rewarded for it. >> Often times it seems bad behavior gets rewarded more, especially if you're a white man in America, than it does for um doing the right thing. But Leon is a character that we came to grow love and trust from Snowfall and we will do it again. My worry >> is that >> him bleeding money trying to do the right thing might cost him cause him to go back to the street a little bit which we kind of seen in this episode. Now he didn't get his hands >> completely dirty. I would just say he got his fingers dirty. He didn't get his hands dirty but he did get his fingers dirty. And we also found out that the streets still respect him a lot. >> Yes. A lot. >> And and I do love that he has become the OG of the street. Even though he's still relatively young, he is the OG on them streets. Everybody know who he is. Blood [ __ ] and they respect him. And I like him in this role being the godfather for what these young black folks is doing that's stuck up in these streets. So I I think Lyanna get it right. and I trust him that he'll figure out how to diversify those funds and keep the clinic going, but also maybe expand into that music. >> Right on. Well said. I'mma stay I'mma stay with you, man. Uh we also got to talk about Big Daddy and Mama G. Big Daddy played by Bubba Gump. Uh Mckelty Williamson. He wasn't that prominent in this episode, but I just still love him as an actor. Hopefully, he can get uh more screen time as the u as the show proceeds. And also, Mama G, I don't blame her at all for not wanting to have Wanda uh in her cousin's life because uh you know, she she feels jaded and I would probably feel the same way. Um you know, how are you feeling about that? Do you agree, disagree? Uh where you at on those two characters? >> I mean, boy, like we we are golly, I'm trying, folks. Give me a second to try to put the thoughts together in a way that's fast and concise. Mama G, I'm sure, is a woman of faith. And God is a forgiving God. And you're supposed to be forgiving. That's what that's what you're supposed to do if you're a woman. If you're a person of your faith, you're supposed to be forgiving. Okay? I'm not of the faith. I'm agnostic. And at some point in time, you got to put your foot down and say, you know what? Enough is enough. I've been hurt so much that I can't I might can forgive you, but I don't want to be around you. And I think that's where Mama G is. She can forgive her, but she don't want to be around her for the threat that she might go back to the old ways. However, when she's doing good, and there's no sign of doing bad, give her a little support, Mama G. >> Yeah. >> Give her I I don't blame you for what has happened in the past, but she's doing good right now. And when you can see her coming in and out of your home, you've got eyes on her. You can see what she's doing. Give her a little support. But back in that day, Big B Avery, you know, big mamas like that, they didn't believe in any of these side hustle dreams. They didn't believe in YouTube and stuff like that. They didn't believe in any of the new hustles that could make you rich. They only believed in get your education, marry somebody that's educated, and y'all combine your money and maybe do a dream together or something like that. They didn't believe in, you know, you're going to become a rapper. Oh, that's bull. That's penny. Don't try it. You know, play the safe role is what Big G, Big Mama G is coming from. >> But at the same time, Big Mama G, >> why not be a reason to help >> more so than to push them back to the street? That's what I feel about Big Mama G. >> Right on. I like it, man. You you hit the nail on the head with that. Um right there. Um you know that that's that's that's nice. >> Lamar made a good point though when he was trying to convince her like what was the point of you buying all this music equipment for me when I was young if you don't expect me to you. I mean you gave me to me as a as a gift, you know. So he made a he made a good point there. You know, he kind of stormed off and you know, we don't want to do that. But I was feeling him there and you know, she didn't really have anything to say. Uh maybe you know >> well she wanted him to she wanted him to use it for music to make for the Lord Jesus Christ. >> That's right. You're right. You're right. You're right. >> Why? But why why am I making music for the Lord Jesus Christ and you're not even walking Christ light if you don't want to forgive Wanda and give Wanda that second chance she deserve. >> Right. And it may and it may be um um you know you can forgive somebody but not forget. But I mean like you said you still hit the nail on the head right there uh with that. So, y'all let us know how y'all feeling with our analysis breakdown, whether you agree or disagree. Oh, but Lamont, the crap has hit the fan, you know. Um, DG Daryl pulls up to the spot. He got the contract. Artillery pulls up. Darwin pulls up right afterwards. Hey, man. And I'm thinking this is going to go by as smooth. The smooth as a baby's bottom. No sir, it did not. It went the complete opposite of that. It was a travesty. Damn. Like, um, yeah, Daryl DG is arrogant and he does have a mouth on him. And if I was in his shoes, I probably would have had, you know, my piece of humble pie earlier that morning just to make sure that I can digest it and, you know, it all the nutrients go through my body. But apparently, he didn't do that or whatever. I don't know if he was still sniffing lines with with uh Jenny uh you know between takes or something like that but he kind of rolled in on his hot horse man and um it it ended up getting his ass beat freaking humiliated. Lamont the scene pissed me off bro because I cannot stand somebody that sucker punches somebody. I cannot stand somebody that jumps somebody. I'm a I'm a straight up man-to-man mono emano squir up let's fight and shake hands afterwards. So you jumping somebody is you just a hoe. You just a BTC to me. So I I mean that is like the the level of patience that he had to have. And and this is where Vance came through. Like bro, let's look what you built right here. You know, you moved away from this life. You don't want to get caught back up and you end up dead. But at the same time, I don't I don't blame him, bro. He blowing up W on the phone on the pager. 911. Get over here. I'mma kill you. Now, I'm not saying that he had a right to go to a hammer uh with her on her hand, but I I can understand the frustration. My only nitpick out of the whole uh episode is I wish we would have got like a time stamp or some indication of how long it went from him getting his ass beat, him getting his ass jumped to him charging up Wanda in the studio because I kind of felt like he should have been in a hospital. um you know it seemed like his wounds recovered a bit too early bit too quickly too fast and you know so I was like that was my only time in the episode when I was like that seems like a bit unrealistic but man they beat the [ __ ] out of him bro uh stripped him down to his draws >> I mean he nearly like that that's that's crazy bro I I I I love my people bro I wanted to jump through the screen and help him like I I if they would have got sprayed down. Um, all of them just die. I I wouldn't have cared cuz that's just some hor [ __ ] to me. You What are your thoughts on this whole transaction? You agree, you disagree. Somewhere in the middle. I'm very curious to know, sir. I'm very curious. >> Well, when it comes to Daryl, I disagree because in the same way you were saying you don't like someone sucker punching them. That's some ho ass [ __ ] As you would say, when you sucker punch someone, >> I also look at a man just viciously attacking a woman who didn't do anything to provoke him. the same thing. And >> of course, of course, wait, let me let me hold on. I'm I'm going stop you there. I I had to interrupt. Let me clear that up. I agree with you as far as that's concerned 100%. I don't think that he should have did that. And I'm glad that he didn't. I can just understand the frustration because, you know, you just got your ass whooped, but you still got to have self-control. Um, and I wanted to clear it up because also in our lanterns episode three, you know, some people think I'm a sexist, and I'm going to address that in our episode four, but but go ahead. But I I just had to had to uh you know say that. I'm sorry. Go ahead. >> Well, folks, if you if you must be new here, Be Avery is a OG in the YouTube game. He's always been fighting for the plight of women, especially African-American women. He stands on their shoulders the way I do with them being the most resilient group of human beings in the world. And they never ever get their just justice. and we gonna ride for our black women no matter what. And he always has done that. So if you think that about him, you're Johnny come lately because he's not like that. But I was I was thoroughly pleased with the way DG got his ass beat because number one, dude, you don't roll up in there with the hood. And just because you done made it from a legal perspective, you done got out the hood and now you making good legal money, you almost had an arrogance about yourself like, "Look, you MF is steal the streets. You need to do as I say, listen to me. And if I'm telling you to take this, you need to take it." Now, the truth is he's probably right about that. However, you know that these people is of the street. They're not of the level of education you have now of understanding what it's like to make that legal money. And since you from the street, you should have an idea of how to go in there and not be so arrogant and talk to these people and you didn't do that. And then on top of that, obviously, he's a misogynist. And when Dar showed up and it was a woman, you could easily tell that he thought that he's going to get the tails on her because she's a woman and all that. And bro, to be a woman and to have that much pool in the '9s, we just got finished watching Raising Kanan and we saw how that mama moved in them streets in late 80s and 90s and how she had to be three, four steps better than men. You don't think Dar got a piece of that in her? So, I thoroughly enjoyed his ass whipping. I thoroughly enjoyed them stripping him down to his Spider-Man under rules except for they was like a different color. And it should have been a wakeup call to him that when you move in these streets, you got to do differently. And I'm sure me and BA are going to talk about this, but I'm still trying to understand the dynamic between him and Leon because Leon is the bridge here. And the OG that everybody in these streets respect, apparently DG isn't. Uh yeah, man. I I had to give you the applause. Well said, sir. Well said. You You made some good ass points. Um I I'm still upset he got his ass whipped, but h he deserved it, but at the same time, man. Like, damn. And he did have on some orange underwear. Uh but yeah, you know, um I you know, Vance had to calm him down at the studio and so did Leon. Um I do like the fact that Leon was like, "Hey man, if you put your hands on Wanda, I'll kill you over her." Man, I loved it, boy. This just I'm just letting you know like I understand you got your ass, but I I would kill you for my baby. And it's just >> yeah, we all like [ __ ] around and find out. And we all got somebody. We every man has either had someone they feel like that about or currently have them. And it could be your sister, it could be your mama, it could be your grandma, it could be your baby boo thing. But there is some woman that's significant in your life. Most men, if another man gets out of line, you would put a nail through their hand and then probably two through the eyes if they [ __ ] around and find out. I I I love it, man. Um I I I love it. And I want to see Leon and Wanda together, you know? They've great couple, but at the same time, I'm even with them break with them broken up and we still got to find out exactly why. I love their relationship. You know what I'm saying? U they still love each other. They still got each other's back. So that that's fascinating right there. Um did James have a did Jame was James tripping for getting mad at his younger brother Lamar for already signing the contract? because they at the house. He eating those Fritos. I ain't had no Fritos in a long time. I want to make me a Cheeto frilly Frito pie, man. I'm thinking about that. Goodness gracious. I'mma have to do that next week. >> Dude, you you you on your macros, brother. You can't You can't let that creep in your mind cuz you do. You'll sit there and keep thinking about it till you get it. >> You're right. You're right. You're right. Um, but I like there's change. He was like at the very beginning of the episode uh when they was in the car or maybe it was another point in time where Wanda was talking to James, he was like Wanda, you're not helping my situation out and you gaslighting my little brother. He arrogant. He don't know nothing. And he was like he need Wanda was like this is why I need you. So when he was having his freetos, I like the fact that Lamar did humble himself just a little bit and just be like I can't do this without you. You're the other half. I need your help. They kind of said that throughout the whole episode, you know, we would listen to this music when we was kids coming up. So, what made you think that I couldn't do this? I mean, this is how we grew up. >> And James was gonna come over. I'm like, "Okay, I got you." But he got upset because he already signed the contract. At least Lamar did present it to him. But was James tripping for walking off that way and frustration or can you can you understand where he's coming from? >> Well, if him walking off in frustration prevented him from doing something stupid, uh, yeah, I'm with it. Sometimes when we going through an emotional state, folks, before we do something we regret, it's best that we walk off, try to relax, relate, release, something to that effect. But I can understand him being upset. You signed a contract. Dude, you're a kid. You don't know what's in these contracts. You don't know how you might be getting screwed in these contracts. And then you're asking me to help you, and you are my best interest. You my little brother. I want to see you succeed. You can't be signing stuff without knowing what's in it. So, he's in his right to be mad and walking away to take a pause is a great way to express that anger. >> Right on. I agree. I agree. Just wanted to make sure, you know, or see what page we was on. And so now we we we got to fix it. You know, they still want to make money. They still looking at the bigger picture. They still looking at the long game. And like Leon said, Dra knew that she effed up. She knew that she effed up. She know that there may be consequences and they have to resolve this. So, they're meeting on neutral ground. Um, I I like that. Um, man, man be holding on to beef forever. Dude was in there across from Da talking about, "Man, when I was 6 years old, this 13year-old stole my honey bun. So 20 years later, you know, when I'm bigger, I rolled up a [ __ ] ass [ __ ] you know, and stripped him of all his cash and money and all that." I It was funny, but uh tragic as well. Uh but Leon and Wanda pull up to the spot and they are bold as hell. They confident. David said like, "Damn, they pulling up." Even though it was a neutral, even though it was uh was it Switzerland? Is that the the common term for like neutral ground in Switzerland? They didn't say that in this episode, but I think >> of in some hoods. Yeah, some hoods. They they >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um I I like that. I thought when they first walked into the diner, they were going to get pat down, but I guess that wasn't necessary. Uh but Lamont, not Lamont, that's that's you. Um Leon, he had the 30,000 in the bag. this is what you asked for here or you know where's the contract Leon read that so well I mean he bro he read her up and down like a book like you only acting this way because you don't know how to get the the money and the loan game she looked away you supposed to keep eye contact bro but he broke her down like I I can read you like a book I can see all throughout you and she just straight up like okay how do we do this you know took the At first I was confused like wait a minute why did he give why did take the money back. But you know, cuz he said, "This is just short change for you. This is all you know, you just know short money, you know, corner street money. You don't know the loan thing. Let's get this on paper. Let's get it official. You can be the manager of artillery." I love that, bro. That that was uh that was nice. And mind you, you notice when Leon and Wanda left, he blew the whistle to somebody across the street. Other dude had his AR, his AK in the front seat, ready to pop off if something crazy went down. I was like, "Oh my god, I love this show, Lamont. I love this show." I I just I was over watching like, "Man, Leon is not dumb." You know, he got a backup plan, you know? Uh like I I was feeling the man thoughts, bro. I I I couldn't wait to talk to you about the scene. Break it down for me. Your thoughts. Your thoughts, >> man. Leon was the MVP of this episode, man. They came through. I was I was a little concerned about his screen time in the first episode, but folks, they came through with Leon this episode and let us know that he's pivotal. He's a backbone to this show >> and he still has his ears to the streets. >> Yes, >> he still got loved by people in these streets. They, like you said, the fact that they did not pat Leon down lets you know that they know his word is bond. >> They know that. >> Yeah, he said that too, too. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And and when he educated her on what she's missing out on, it made her think. >> I think that there's a little bit of a she wants some some of Leon panty draws too because she had to stick in there. You doing all this cuz you and and the way she said it and looked at him made me and I was wondering was they going to cut the Wanda showing Wanda with a you know a scowl like >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He mine. >> Yeah, >> he mine. You may have a once, but he's mine all the time or something like that. And Shout out to the actress playing D. Baby, you looking good, too. >> I'm I'm trying to look her up right now. >> Yeah, >> they they got you in that 90s outfit looking hard, looking beautiful, looking intimidating, and the men respect you so much so they will beat a [ __ ] wearing Spider-Man draws ass. So, I love that Leon is going to be that leveraging force. And I still want to know what is the history between him and DG because it seems like Leon in some levels the exchange between DG and Leon seemed like Leon kind of is the one who's got the drop so to speak but then in the end when Leon was walking out DG made it seem like he got the drop on Leon. So, I just want to know more about that story. And if if it came to a fisty cuffs and a battle right now in these streets, I would say Leon got way more pull in the streets than DG does. >> Oh god. Yes. Yes. Yes. Sorry, I got a little too excited right there. But yes, man. >> No, you good, bro. >> I I I I do agree with you 100%. And yeah, man. It was uh it was it was really interesting, too. When they left, Ron was like, "Hey, baby, I love you and I would do anything for you and I think I just excuse me. I'll prove that to you, but don't ever put me in this situation again." And he was direct and he was bold, but he was not disrespectful uh with it or or whatever. So, u that's cool right there, too. I I I did like that. I I did like that. That That was pretty dope. That was pretty nice. Um, that was the end of that scene, but we have the last scene right here. And, uh, it seems like, uh, Daryl DG don't want to let it go. Seems like he has a higher gun that's going to take out all these bloods. I hope it's just an insurance policy. >> But, um, everything has fallen into place, man. You need to let this go, man, and make this money, you know, because at the same time, when they were there at the diner, Dar said, "Hey, man. Um, can do do I have your word on this truce? So, Daryl DG can't come in and messing it up. This is going to be a war. Um, talk about that last scene of him hiring some guns. And what are your final thoughts? Everything DG tried to come into the hood and represent that he's he's higher and above that when he had his first meeting with Dar, he's reverting right back to all that [ __ ] because he's been emasculated. What happened in that scene with Dar was he got that ass emasculated by a woman which sticks in his crawl probably more than him getting beat up. He got beat up at the behest of a woman and not just a woman, a good-looking woman. It just make just all the little things just make it worse. And so right now he's acting like the streets again. And dude, you is properly removed from the street. You got your hair permed like James [ __ ] brown. Dude, stop acting like you in these streets. You're not in these streets no more. You done got your teeth work done. You done got your hair permed. You wearing Spider-Man underwear. You not about these streets no more. And so the fact that you want to you want to revert back to this life just shows that there is a a a flaw in your armor and Leon is about to be caught up in the crosshairs and Leon might be the one to take him out. >> Yeah, we're going to see. Hopefully. Uh hopefully not, man. Hopefully they can uh put it all together. Um, I I even though Well, do I care if something happens to Daryl DG? Maybe not. But y'all let us know what you think. I'm having the hardest time right now trying to find the actress's name that plays Dra. I've Googled it. I've looked on IMDb and maybe it's not out yet because the show hasn't come out.
