The Breakout Candidate For Every NBA Team

One of the most fun parts of the offseason is trying to figure out which player is gonna break out. You know, it's gonna be a bunch of them, right? Uh it's so cool to plant your flag and make that prediction. I remember three years ago I predicted Jaylen Johnson's breakout. Now he's an all NBA player. I also predict the window card is going to break out. Still a good player. I just the breakout thing didn't really work out, but it is one of my favorite times of the year. And Bleach Report put together an article, every NBA team's top breakout candidate. What we're going to do today is react to their article, but I also have my own 30 and I want to see what me and and and Greg Schwartz have in common when it comes to predicting breakout players. I got one favorite team. It was actually tough. Honestly speaking, your favorite team might not have a breakout player. And it hurts. It hurts when everybody comes back exactly the same. Don't tell me you picked Dilly. They had to cuz he's on the thumbnail. All right, so starting off in the Atlanta Hawks, I know they're going alphabetical order. My guy for the Atlanta Hawks is Ace New and their guy is going to be Ace Anu. Remind, I have not seen this just yet. So if we have a bunch of overlap, that's just coincidental. And honestly, a lot of teams don't have breakout candidates because some teams are just old. It's rare that you see a 32 year old breakout. It can happen, but it is also rare. As new is one of those guys, you know, uh, coming off a season where he didn't play a ton. So, you kind of are betting that he's going to turn into a rotational NBA player at the end of the day. What does breakout look like for a guy like Asa Newell? I think for Asa, breakout for him is just being a true normal part of the rotation. Next, we got next team we got is the Celtics. I think we're going to go two for two here. It's got to be Ugo Gonzalez. One of my favorite corner crashes in the entire NBA. Uh he showed again just like a lot of people on my list so many different flashes. He was a advanced stats um super supernova as a rookie which is very rare in the NBA. Granted, he does play for the Boston Celtics and Boston Celtics role players advanced stats are going to look great more times than not. But he did show you a lot of different things and I think he's going to be ultra important because you never really know now that you got Paul George on the team what type of health he's going to have. I think Hugo Gonzalez can be one of those guys that is like, I don't know, they're a breakout player. It is one of those teams also that don't have a ton of young players. One breakout player I picked for them last year was Jordan Walsh and he had mo not last year, two years ago. Was that two years ago? I don't remember. Whenever Jordan Walsh first got to the Boston cell, I'm like, "Oo, I like that pickup cuz that guy is a gritty, crazy defensive player." And then he had his moments and I think Gonzalez is like a real staple in this rotation. Next we got the Nets. It's got to be Jagger Jerger. Joerger Drummond got to be. Yeah, I am all in on this this fella. By the way, I watched so much of his tape this offseason. Honestly speaking, in real time, I wasn't watching a lot of Brooklyn Nets. I had prior my priorities were straight. You feel me? If there was two games on and one of them was Nets versus whoever and one was, I don't know, Lakers versus opposite sides of the coast. They were really playing together, but you get what I'm saying. I usually prioritize the other game, but throughout this offseason, I've been craving NBA. I've been craving basketball. So, I've watched a lot of Jagger Dam and I'm all in. Obviously, in summer league, he looked great, too. And what you want from your year two player is to go into summer league and look like he don't he's not supposed to be there and there was many moments of that. Um I didn't know that he was going to be as good of a three-point shooter at he ended up being, you know, in his rookie season. His passing is obviously really good. His vision is really good. I think the the swing thing for him is getting to the basket and finishing at the basket. He obviously has a size to be able to do that. Maybe not the quickness and the speed to beat that first level defender all the time, but I am all in on Jerger Jerger Drummond um going into next season. So so far three for three. the Hornets. This is a different kind of breakout. So far, we've got super young player going into year two. We got basically super young player and we got super young player. My guy for the Charlotte Hornets is not one of them. Oh, he just needs to be a rotational player. My guy is is Brandon Miller and they got to Salon, which I'm sure Hornets fans would love to see a breakout for him because they used what the six pick. Yeah, sixth pick on him a couple years ago. And let's just say it hasn't been amazing. The reason I pick Brandon Miller is because they obviously and he's also a guy that's gonna come up in a different video later this week. Um, obviously when they trade away LaMelo Ball, a lot of the question has to do with like, okay, what happens now? Obviously, they're taking a big bet on Kanipple. They're taking a bit big bet on Brandon Miller. And Brandon Miller, as you know, is a really solid score in the NBA already. He gives you great flashes of defense when he needs to be locked in. But it's hard for me to picture what his ceiling actually is in the current state of playmaker that he is. And with no LaMelo Ball, they're going to be asking him to step up to another level playmaking wise. Like again, they're not he's not ever going to be LaMelo Ball as a passer. But in order for him to hit the ceiling that the Charlotte Hornets need him to hit, he has to evolve on the next level from that part. Um he also has dealt with a ton of injuries. A lot of them he played through with the shoulder injury next year. This is an offseason where I don't think he's dealing with anything. So hopefully he can come in and kill. But when I think about breakout player Brandon Miller, if I'm predicting it, his breakout is like, "Oh my god, he's an all-star conversations." And that's what the Charlotte Hornets are baking on. Next team is the Bulls. I went Leonard Miller. And the re who Yeah, they went Dilly. We saw it in the thumbnail, which we have to talk about Rob Dillingham. I went to Leonard Miller because he basically was a guy playing for a Minnesota Timber team over his career so far. Just competed for a championship, competed for a champion, competed for a championship. Obviously, he's a part of the big time time trade with Rob Dillingham in order to get here in Chicago. And in the 20, 30 games that he played, he was a energy big, even though he he don't look 16 on court, but a true 16 big. He's flying over the court. He's making shots. And I think he went from when he was in Minnesota in limited amount of time, averaging like three points per game, then he got to Chicago, he's averaging like 12. And obviously there's a log gym now that we also got Caleb Wilson on the team. But he just looked like a guy to me that is a real NBA player. I don't know what that means necessarily, but in Minnesota, you kind of question that because he couldn't get PT on a team that was looking for more wings and digs. They got Rob Dillingham, though. As a Bulls fan, if Rob Dillingham turned into anything this season, I am so very happy because right now I got so much love for Rob. Obviously, I think the internet does too, but he doesn't do anything well as an NBA player as of today. He is a a negative passer for his position. He doesn't hit his three-point shots. He doesn't hit his mid-range shots. He doesn't finish at the rim. He doesn't get to the rim. And for a guy to be a point guard, because that's what he is. He also hasn't been able to create for himself at any level, right? All of his his maids made baskets from last season were assisted. So, playing off the ball. And I just don't know a world where a guy that is 6'1, 6 foot even can really play off the ball unless his his offensive output when it comes to scoring is just so high. And Rob hasn't been able to do that. Now, he's only 21 years old, so I'm not giving up hope. Damn it. I want him to become something. But I just don't know how much faith I have in it. Like, when I think about the Bulls core, I rarely think about Rob Dillingham actually being a part of it. I think it's more likely that Rob is not on the team next season when he's, you know, eligible for a restricted free agency than he is, you know, to to to blossom. And I again, I pray he does. I also thought about Modis because this is going to be a really good swing year for Modest. Now, now you're not going to know everything from a year three player, but we're going to see sooner rather than later whether Modus is a 10ear starter in the NBA or a two-time all-star in the NBA. You know what I mean? Like, this is the type of season that's going to be able to unlock to see exactly what we have in Modas Bales. Okay, next team we got is the Cleveland Cavaliers. I got Tyrese Proctor and so do they. Okay, man. Greg has been shooting high percent. Bro, there is a time where Tyrese Proctor actually looked really good and I think Cal Sans would tell you that too. Um, the 22-y old former Duke standout had a solid rookie season to Cleveland, making 35% of his threes, and averaging 18 points, four rebounds, five assists, and a steal and a half per 36 of play. That's basically my argument as well. I also thought about Jaylen Tyson, who they could really use having another step up season after he just had a step-up season. Um, because they're going to need some extra shooting and I think Jaylen Ty can provide some of that, especially if Payton Wash's three-point shooting wasn't real for last year. But Tyrese Proctor was my answer, too. Shout out to me. Um, Dallas Mavs was a tough one, bro. I went with Risha. They went Dererick Lively. It would be so good to watch Derrick Lively play basketball again. It's been a long time, man. Uh breaking out that three-point shot in the final, something I'll never forget about. But because a big fella and foot injuries very rarely mesh well, I'm praying that he can get back to being the impact defensive player that he was in his one rookie season. I went with Reach because there's now that he's on his second team, him being a first round pick is done. A first overall pick is done. Like in the literal sense, obviously it's not. But I mean like his expectation attached to being a former first overall pick is over because he's on his second team. Now he can really find out who he is in the NBA, find out his role. Does that mean he's going to be a seventh man for the rest of his career? Does that mean he's a good starter for his career? Does that mean he blossom into an allstar? I don't know. But I think the pressure on him is just gone now that the Dallas Mavericks basically gave up nothing to get him. This a win-win for the Dallas Mavericks at least. Nuggets. I went, it was a tough one. They don't have a lot. You you can go like Drew Strawther. I went with Dron Holmes and they went straw. I went with Dron Holmes just because with no Valentunis, I know they brought in Marvin Bagley. Marvin Bagley was actually pretty solid last year. Nobody cares though. Um Dron Holmes is a guy that I really loved coming out of the draft. Obviously, he dealt with the injury. Was that his first summer league game or in the offseason workout and since then he just hasn't really had an opportunity to really play. But there he showed me a small flashes in the minutes that he did play that make me feel like he can be a rotational player. There's a lot to be desired on the on the one side of the ball, but whatever. Julen Strawther if he can come in and score the ball. Because he had um that playoff moment a few years back where he like four threes in a game, you're like, "Yeah, Juel, let's get it. Let's get it." And no Peyton Watson. No, Tim Hardaway Jr. This is an opportunity for Strother to really step up. I ain't mad at this pick. Next, we got the Pistons. Got to be Ron Holland. Yeah, another guy that was drafted really high in his draft class just like to John Salon. He showed way more than Toan Salon. I'm not putting them in the same class and like same caliber of player, but when you use a fifth overall pick on a guy, you want him to be more than like the sixth to seventh man on the team. Um, I love what he can bring with his energy and his defense. But my goodness, they really need him to be way more for them to maximize that value of the fifth overall pick. If you squint enough, you'll see that Holland did go 10 of 19 from deep over his final five regular season games. That's what we doing. That's such a small sample size. If the jumper looks better, you can have a breakout year. Yeah, come on, Ron. We rooting for you. We rooting for you. Uh the Warriors, it's a tough one, too. I went pods. I don't want to talk about Brandon Pajimsky. I feel like we do that enough on this this channel, but you know what he has been able to do sometimes. You know, he got his first 30 piece a little while ago. I don't have a lot to say about pods. Next, we got the Rockets. Reese Shepard was on the thumbnail. I also had Reese Shepard. Cool. I think he is a really good candidate for a breakout player because now um I didn't realize he finished sixth and most improved player last season. Huh. Look at that. So, he did jump up to 13 13 and a half points per game, three assists last season. I think another opportunity now that they got Freddy back into that lineup going into this year where Reed can kind of relax us a little bit more and really do the things that we know he can do. I think, man, the 2024 draft has popped up on this a thousand times and that just shows you how bad that class really was on paper and what is it turning out to be in actuality. We need all of the class to break out now. A little tough. Um, Pacers, I went Jarus Walker. I don't even know if Okay, dang. We got so many of the same people, but the Pace are one of those teams that don't have a a ton of young guys. So, Jarus Walker makes a lot of sense. Um, the 2304, we saw a bump in both rebound and assist percentage and his third year while averaging a career-high 11 points per game. Shout out to him. Walker has been a consistent outside shooter at 38% who can play either four positions. They're going to need something like this when that debt piece. Uh, they also brought in Kelly Ubé obviously. So, they got, you know, a three, some threes, a guy that can play some three as well. But, you know, one of them guys is going to be up for an extension very soon. Uh, they're also talking about the contracts where Obi Toppin could get traded because of the money associated with Obi Toppin. And if they have to do that, then Jerus Walker has to be a guy to step up. Jarus is one of my favorite players in his draft class. It has not actualized completely. But I still hold out hope. Next, we got the Clippers. I went with Kobe. They went with Yanick Conan Netherhouser. Not mad at it. Another big fella that's coming off. I don't know if he had a back injury or a foot injury. Um either way, a foot injury. Boom. There it is. Again, I don't like big fellas that have foot injuries, but I'm hoping that that was nothing. I went with Kobe Sanders. Bro, Kobe, Hold on, let me see exactly what his stats ended up being. Kobe Sanders had a lot of moments last season. I'm like, whoa, this guy's a real NBA player. And now that the Clippers are definitely not playing for anything, uh, I think it's an opportunity for Kobe to really go out there. He's averaged seven points per game, two rebounds and assists in the half, 46% from the field, 40.1% from three as a as a 23 year old rookie. So, he's on the older side of things. But my god, I really enjoyed his game. Him being 6'8, which something I didn't even realize in real time as I watched. I think that's my breakout candidate for them. I did like what Yanick Conher was able to do right before he went down with an injury. Uh Netherhauser had an excellent rim protect potential and averaged 11 points. Seven and a half rebounds, two and a half blocks on 66% overall in the six games he played 20 or more minutes. Yeah, get him the minutes, man. Next, we got the Lakers. A tough ass team to pick. Their whole team is brand new. And when you have a brand new team, it's hard to have a breakout player because whatever. Mamu basically had his breakout season last year for the Toronto Raptors. Colin Ston averaged like 24 points a game once upon a time on a bad Cavs team. Uh Quinton Grimes had his moments at the end or the the second half of the season two years ago. He averaged 20 points per game. So who is THE GUY YOU PICK? I WENT WITH BRONNY. DAMN IT. OH, Jaden Hardy. H um Hardy shot 42% from three while averaging 12 and a half points in 20 minutes off the bench. Okay. I didn't really realize he had that good of a run when he was in Washington. Maybe I should have locked into Washington a little bit more. I went with Bronny though, man. Ronnie, go get go get some rotational minutes, fool. Next, we got the Grizzlies. I went with Cedric Coward. They Walter Clayton Jr. I actually saw rumors that Clayton Jr. might get waved because they have too many roster spots or they have have a roster spot for him maybe. I hope that's not the case. I got a lot of love for Walter Clayton Jr. But I went with Cedric Howard. Similar to like Brandon Miller. Obviously, Brandon Miller is a better ball player. But like when I think about breakout for Cedric Howard going into this year, maybe this is my bias he's playing because that's my dog. But he talked about how a lot of this offseason, he prepped as if he was going to be the number one option. He said he wasn't going to be he doesn't know exactly how the how the season's going to pan out, but he's prepping for on ball opportunities and you saw that in summer league where he basically was was a point guard alongside uh Javon Small and I think a lot of that when it comes to development is going to be really important. He had a solid rookie season. I'm a firm believer in his jump shot even if the percentage didn't look good his rookie seasons I think it was like 31 32% where if I think about breakout player for Sedic I'm thinking to myself that's a guy that can turn into an all-star now it might be too early to think about allstar for him because again he's coming off you know a super young season but when I think about breakout for him I'm like oh we going to look at him be like oh he can create for his own self and be the top scorer on a team even if that team may not be great. I got I got belief in the Grizzlies being a solid regular season team though. They Oh, Miami Heat. They went Nicole Yoic. I thought for sure like we got a lot of overlap here. I thought Ple Larson was for sure consensus breakout candidate. Really solid season last year. As you know, as he fans know, the swing thing for Mr. Larson is going to be if he can make a good enough amount of threes. He was a 32% or 33% three-point shooter last season as a team that could use some extra three-point shooting. It wasn't him last season. Maybe this is the year. I watched one FIFA game that he was a part of and I said on the podcast a brother like Michael Jordan. So I'm I'm I'm drinking the juices on Pay Larson and he's just just such a good connector. The perfect kind of Miami player if you would. Like they always find these guys that can just connect and do this and can do that. He plays super hard. Um he he he he yeah he plays hard. He can finish at the rim. All of the things you really need. Nicole Yoic is a candidate because they they paid him a lot of money and he he didn't really play much last season. um which sucks when you give a guy $60 million and he just I won't use the word out of the rotation but let's just say less important than what you wanted him to be and so I guess I can understand but I thought Larson was like consensus. Next we got the Bucks Khar has to be him. I think I saw some rumors that him and Miles Turner are going to start together because they want to do this showcase for Turner and hopefully find somebody to trade for him, get some extra capital and then move KL over to the the five. I saw a stat that Khar was the best above the break three-point shooter at his at his size in the NBA last season, which makes sense if you look at these splits um in his 34 starts a season ago. We're averaged a double double boom boom boom boom and the splits of 53% 40% and then 75%. Obviously, whatever was going on with him was what it was where he would have moments where he played a lot and moments where he played none. I'm having flashbacks because he had a game against the Bulls last season. I don't even know what he finished with in that game, but I felt like I was watching like Dirk at times. And I'm being I'm being hyperbolic, but one of his games Yeah. He had a game in November against the Bulls with the where they put up 143 points on us in regulation, by the way. And in that game, Ko Wear had 20 and 14. He didn't even hit a three in that game. Maybe it's another game against the Bulls where he was even better. Uh yeah. Uh he had another game against the Oh, THIS IS THE ONE. FEBRUARY 1ST AGAINST the Bulls. They win 134 to 91. We only put up 91 points in an NBA game. Disgusting. We were down 21 points going into the second quarter. Right. In this game, Khar came off the bench and in 18 minutes had 17 points. Just came in and said, "Hey, if coach ain't gonna play me, I'm I'mma make it happen." And I think all of that ended up being Yeah. in the second half. Yeah. He's he can he can get on the heater. And I love a big fell that can get on the heater. It don't happen often. Um I I guess the Bucks just got off a guy like that. Bobby Poris is a big fell that can get on the heater and now they're replacing him with Khar, a younger guy at 22 years old. Oh, um Minnesota. I will yawn Baron. They went with Cody Williams. Another second team guy from what draft class? The 2024 draft class. Um he did have a better season. Average 16 points, four rebounds, four and a half assists in his final 19 games. That's what was surprising to me that the Utah Jazz traded him because yeah, I remember, you know, again, I wasn't watching a ton of games in real time when it came to Utah Jazz. But I remember watching the highlights and the moments of him in the second half of the season. He just played with another level of confidence. I think a lot of his rookie season, he just wasn't he just wasn't confident. And you can argue that maybe in his year in Colorado that what he was showing wasn't super real. But I just feel like he came into the NBA and was like, "Oh, this is the big leagues now and I'm not ready for it." in the second half of the season, he was just more poised. And I'm surprised to see him get traded away and now Minnesota can have this thing where they can compete for a championship but have this flyer pick in Cody Williams. But similarly, while Leonard Miller wasn't as highly touted and highly drafted as Cody Williams, they are a team that's trying to compete. And if you are trying to compete for a championship, do you have minutes to give to a guy like Cody Williams who you don't know on one day if he's going to look like an NBA player or not? Um maybe in in in the defense of Cody Williams, they could use just extra bodies in that position specifically in the regular season and they have enough talent around him where even if he's not great in his moments, he could still just give Kaminga and give Trey Lyles and some of these other guys that may plan this four um position a little bit more time, but Cody W is not a bad pick. Um if he does break out by the way, oh my god, the Jazz gonna be really upset about that. Next we have the Pelicans, Jeremiah Fierce. They went Derrick Queen. It was one of the two. you knew it had to be one of the two. Um, Queen again, we all know, is like just a unique player in a sense that he can be a highlight machine without jumping. He can be a highlight machine without, you know, hitting a a low three-pointer. But the passing chops that he has, he's such a smart ball player. He closes out possessions well with his rebound and all of the things above. He even go viral on Twitter talking about, "Do you hate me because I'm flo slow and fat?" which shout out shout out to to Derek Queen. Um, but yeah, he they say right here, Jeremiah Fears and Derek Queen are both reasonable breakout candidates here. Fierce may have to wait another year because of Jordan Pool and then of course Dejonte Murray, which I I like that argument for picking Derek Quay because it is kind of a log jam over there, but uh Jeremiah Fierce, I remember. Hold on, let me pull up the stats real quick. Get a jersey, huh? The man's jersey says zero fears on the back. That's so tough. And I'm almost 30, but that's so tough. Yeah, the last Let's go to last 10 games of the season for Jedi Fierce. For what it's worth, they were one and nine in those 10 games. Um, he averaged 24, five and four, only I'm going to say only 1.8 turnovers. He shot not great from three, but he got to the foul line seven times per game in the that little stretch. So, like I'm just I'm just intrigued a little bit more because he did get an opportunity to start in some of those games because the Pelicans weren't playing for anything, so players were sitting out. And I think he is potentially gonna be good enough where you have to really think about him being a starter sooner rather than later. So I'm not I'm not mad at Dear Queen, but I also like Jeremiah Fierce. Next we have the New York Knicks. It's got to be Mo Diara. It's no other option but him. Everybody else is either old or have already broken out. It's got to be Mr. Fav. I remember one of the first tweets I saw after the New York Knicks won a championship and I wish I screenshotted it and I could give credit. One of the first tweets I saw after the Knicks one was somebody saying, "I'm so happy we won a championship, but the league don't even know we got Ojanobi 2.0 just sitting on our bench ready to hoop." And I ain't saying that's what Mo Diam go, but I really did like him as a ball player when he did play. The 6'9 for has a has a strong defensive skill set and be called on even more while sharing sharing the second unit with Andre Drummond instead of Mr. Rob also connected on 57.6% of his corn and three points last season. proven to be a reliable kickout option for Jaylen Brunson and others. Next, we got the Thunder. I went with Kase. They also Oh my god, I'm actually pissed that we got the same answer. Case is going to be asked to do a lot more this season strictly like no Ludor, no Isaiah Joe, no Aaron Wiggins. Just a lot of K Wallace and all defensive caliber player. If he can shoot the way he did his rookie season, I'm so happy. Shout out to Kase. Hold on one sec. Shout out to Kase ignoring that I need a haircut. Kase Kase DM'd me like a week ago said, "Hey, bro. Would you want a hoodie?" I said, "Hell yeah." So, hold on. I got it looking weird. Hold on. Hold on. Shout out to the boy. Shout out Shout out to the boy. Shout out to Kase and the brand, man. Got got love for you. Also, he asked me if I needed a hoodie. The thing was at my doorstep like 24 hours later. That boy got that expedited shipping. Shout out to Kase and the guys. All right. Orlando Magic. I went Jace. They went Jace. Cool. Um, they they just need Jace to be able to do some of the things he did in college. He was a no um no mistakes kind of player. He hit all of his three-pointers in his NBA, his rookie NBA season. He didn't hit many of his three-pointers. They kind of could use some of that and it would make it easier for them to figure out what the hell is going on with Anthony Black's extension or um Jaylen Suggs's money because they're already one of the most expensive teams in basketball. So, if they can have a guy on a rookie contract in Jace Richardson be a guy that can play real rotational minutes, then it makes it easier to maybe cut salary on Jaylen Suggs or whatever happens with Anthony Black. is actually one of the most, believe it or not, one of the most important players on this list is Jace Richardson for whatever the hell the Orlando Magic is going to do. All right, next we got the 76ers. I went I just went VJ. Yeah, like how who ELSE YOU GONNA PICK? JAYLEN BROWN. YOU YOU GONNA PICK Tyrese Maxi to average 50 this season? It's got to be VJ. If all the reason, you know, I don't need to talk too much on VJ. He already had a really good rookie season. Well, the reason I picked this though because we also had um Tyrese Maxi on the pod and we were asking him about the the one ball thing. You know, the biggest question mark or biggest piece of criticism for people when it comes to the 76 is like, "Hey, Maxi was is a super high useless player. Jaylen Brown super high useless player. LeBron James super high use player. Join B super high useless player." And then you got the fifth guy, one of the better rookies in his draft class. So, who's going to be making these sacrifices? And then we immediately like, well, VJ probably will because he is the youngest of the group. And Tyrese Max is like, "Yes and no." Because he told a story about when he was younger to the league and the 76ers acquired James Harden. How James Harden made it a priority that the young Tyrese Maxi still got his shots and still was able to develop. And Maxi said, "That's what I'm about to do to VJ." So there's still a world where VJ has a breakout year even though he's playing with four other AllNBA players. Is that crazy to say? That's a crazy sentence. Next we have the Suns Maui Watch. It's got to be him. Summer League, he was disgusting. I don't know, bro. I I I really liked him coming out of the draft, but then I I get so I get so taken aback by some of these these super raw centers because when they have a rookie season where they can't hit the rotation or they look awful, I'm like, that's it. GG's. And then the man went to summer league and dominated straight up dominated and hit all of his threes. And now that Mark Williams is out with an injury, it's basically Oso Igodoro and him sharing that that back that center position. And I'm like, bro, it's he's him. Mr. Maui watch, dog. Um, anyway, uh, Blaze have to be Skoo Henderson. OH, THEY WERE DONOVAN. LOVE IT. Love it. Donovan's definitely maybe not. Yeah, he's definitely more important to the Blazers than than school Henderson now that the Blazers got 17 all-star point guards on the team. Um, but yeah, Donovan Klingan needs to have a better season than what he did last year. I'm really enjoyed what he did last season. But I will always remember the Jared Allen game. I will always remember the Jared Allen game where Jared Allen who let's not act like Jared Allen is this super super quick swift on his feet center that is being sneaky around there was a million time how many points did he score bro Jared had a 40point game against this guy and what Jared All was doing was just beating him down the court and sealing he had 40 and 17 he even took a three in that game he was he was FEELING SOME TYPE OF way uh Don Klingan I really I am a big fan of Don Mllaning though one thing. One thing that bothers me. I think I may have talked about this before is the amount of centers that is just like I'm just I'm just gonna shoot him. I'm just going to shoot him. And I know the idea of a stretch center makes so much sense. And listen, Dlingan, he had his 34% on him. So, actually, it's his shot. I guess I'm more thinking about what Edy was doing in his five games that he played. Um, I think there's just more value with you setting off screens and being a presence download than it is for a big fella to shoot threes and not make threes. You know what I mean? But he shot 34% in the sophomore season. So I'm not telling him don't do it. I'm not telling him don't do it. But it it does bother me when like there was one game. I'm have to go through this game long again. Yeah. The last two games of the Spurs series Don Mleing is going to get against Victor Whipyama. Foul trouble. Y'all know how it is. His last two games he shot I'm sorry. Let's just think the whole series. Game one of that series he attempted three threes. 0 for two. 0 for three. Game two he was one of six from three. They won that game. That's when Victor Wyama went down. But my seven foot gazil, seven foot two center, took six threes and only made one. Then game three, he he attempted three threes, one for three. Game four, one of six. Game five, two of seven. He took 25 threes in a fivegame series. 25 of them. And I don't think he's ever had a fivegame stretch where he did that before in his in the career. But be I guess because of the sakes are higher, the defense is more amped up. If you talking about the Spurs in the playoffs where it's like this is a shot I got, so I got to take it. And I just remember watching like I don't like a lot of these shots. Next we got the Sacramento Kings. I went with Sacramento Kings. I went N Clifford. They want Maximian Reno. Uh not a bad candidate. Uh he just had a really good rookie season out of nowhere. 42nd overall pick. I went with uh Nick Clifford because he just feels like an NBA player. Another one of them connecting type of pieces. He one of the older guys that got drafted in his class, but I ain't mad at Rolo either. Dylan Harper is my pick as well because he is a stud already. Um putting putting pressure on what the hell those lineups is going to look like next season. How much do you earn Fox? Do we see a comparison to Dylan Harper? Is there a world where all three of them play minutes together? How do you how do you divvy it up where everybody is satisfied and everybody's contributing? Uh I I trust Miss Johnson to make the decisions at the right time and everything. But Dylan Harper is a stud. You saw that in the postseason last year. The Raptors, I went with Jacobe. They went with Kylin Murray Boils who like I was listening to Zack Losa and they were talking about the center rotation um in in in Toronto and talking about like man if yaka Peru can't bounce back it becomes really thin at that center position and that's true but Murray Boles can also play play the five um him and Scotty Barnes playing together last year in the postseason you saw some amazing stuff and now you add on the fact that Kawhi Leonard is in there too so I ain't mad at Murray Boils he came in as like a really elite level defender already and with another year under his belt, some of those units can be insane. I'm with Jacobe, though, is I think his three-point shooting is going to be super important to the team. He had his moments within the playoffs where I think he had one game he had zero points, he had other games he had 20. So, he's kind of like a feast or famine type of player sometimes. Um, but I do like the three-point shooting that he can provide. And on a team like this, when you talk about Scotty Barnes who, you know, at times afraid to shoot him or just don't make him at all, a guy like Jacobe can be super important. Couple more teams. The Jazz went Bryce. They went Ace Bailey. Of course they went Ace Bailey. He was a fifth pick and now he might be coming off the bench and he was really good second half of the season. 20 points per game, five rebounds, two and a half assists, a block and a half in his final 12. And I like them because they were using him in the actions as if he was Larry Markiner. Like we're talking pin downs, we talking about Tim not be not having to dribble and obviously have possessions on ball as well, but I like that they're like, "Okay, Ace, we know you can create for yourself. You know, we know you can take these heavily contested mid-range, but I want to see what you look like if you had zero dribbles." And they ran him like Larry Markin in a lot of those games where he looked like his best or when times where he didn't have to create. Now, they're gonna need people to create. So, I'm not saying pitch and hold him to that type of player, but I'm happy that that Will Hardy and company's like, let's just see what you can do here. Um, but I went with Bryce Cal because Bryce averaged 24 points per game in the second half of the season. Uh, just just straight up I only see the rim type of player. And it's not a lot of those guys exist in the NBA no more. I've been infatuated with Bryce Cball as a ball player. This is like his second year in the NBA. And this is a team that's trying to compete for a playoff spot nowadays. And I think having a guy to come off the bench that could be like I could give you 20 right now. Could be important. I don't know. I'm just a Bryce sensible fan. And lastly, the Washington I had three players because how can you pick one? They want Trey Johnson. I want Will Riley, Trey Johnson, Keshan George. One of those guys is going to break out. You can argue that Keshan had his breakout moment last year. Um but I think there's another step to him. Trey Johnson, he's one of my favorite play I say that about everybody, huh? He's one of my favorite players in their draft class. I just I I value a guy that could just straight up shoot it. Last year he shot 36% from three as a rookie on five and a half attempts. I'm not mad at that. I'm not mad at that at all. And another team that could use as much shooting as they can get, Trey Johnson can do that. Will Riley in the second half of the season, I'm I I'm a guy that does, you know, fall for bad team second half stats. I can fall for it. I ain't going to lie. Sometimes I think that those could be a precursor to like a breakout. For example, second half of the season a few years ago, Kobe White is yelling. uh Kobe White and it's they playing for nothing. Kobe White averaged like 25 points for the last 30 games and it's like oh my god. And then he ended up being second and most improved player the next season. He should have won it. Maxi, I'm sorry. It should have been Kobe White, but it wasn't him. And in the second half of the season, if we look at the last Oh, he got a two-point game in here, so it's going to bring these averages down. In the last 22 games, the Wizards were one and 20. They were 1 and 21. But in that time, 16 points per game for Will Hardy or Will Will Riley. Will Hardy Will Riley. And that's with a game where he had two points and at one more game we had five points. You get rid of those games, which you shouldn't do, but if you get rid of those games, those averages look crazy. Got to the foul line a few different times. Like I'm I'm in.
