Video summary
TechSoup Global positions itself as a vital connector designed to help nonprofits and organizations worldwide access the essential resources they need to thrive. By operating as a truly global entity that remains deeply local, the organization tailors its approach to specific contexts rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution. This nuanced strategy involves collaborating with foundations, grantees, and hundreds of technology corporations to identify what resources can be made available to benefit the nonprofit sector. Through this extensive network of partners, TechSoup engages stakeholders at every level to bring them together, ensuring that their collective efforts address both organizational needs and the broader requirements of the communities they serve.
The core function of TechSoup is to learn from local realities, aggregate these insights, and make them accessible to decision-makers who are managing increasingly scarce resources. The organization recognizes that the specific challenges faced by nonprofits vary significantly from country to country and even from town to town, necessitating a flexible approach that understands each entity's unique technology stack and environment. By facilitating the flow of information and developing targeted programs, TechSoup aims to improve investments in civil society, directly impacting hundreds of thousands of organizations and, by extension, millions of individuals who rely on the support these organizations provide.
Ultimately, TechSoup believes that maintaining continuous attention on how nonprofits utilize digital tools is crucial for materially improving their ability to meet their goals. The organization's mission extends beyond supporting just the entities themselves; it is fundamentally about empowering the individuals within those small organizations every day. By helping organizations of all sizes effectively use technology to navigate their specific situations, TechSoup transforms what might seem like an idealistic dream into a tangible reality for countless people globally. This commitment ensures that the digital divide does not hinder the ability of civil society to achieve its most critical objectives in diverse and changing environments.

Tech Soup is here to be a connector to
help organizations and nonprofits around
the world get access to the resources
they need to be better.
>> TechU prides itself to being a truly
global organization. Global yet very
local, very nuance, very contextual
simply because of how we are set up.
working with foundations, we're working
with grantees, grours, we're working
with hundreds of technology corporations
to say, what can you make available as a
resource that nonprofits might be able
[music] to benefit from?
>> That is hugely powerful because we're
able to engage stakeholders at every
level and to bring them together to meet
their needs and the needs of the wider
community. Our role is to learn at the
local level, aggregate that learning and
make it available to decision makers
that are allocating increasingly scarce
resources.
We want to take what we learn and
[music] we want to put it together so
that we can improve investments in civil
society because it's so critical. what
an organization needs and the realities
that they're facing in specific
societies or specific environments are
going to change from country to country,
from town to town.
>> We are part of a bigger ecosystem
[music] and that ecosystem is network of
partners we have around the world. It
>> it's not one solution that will fit all
you know you have specific context, you
have specific needs and each each
organization has a different tech stack
[music] and we have to understand what
the need is. So all this information
flow and the programs that we are we are
working on have a direct impact on not
just the hundreds of thousands of
organizations we work with but I would
extrapolate to that millions of
individuals who receive the kind of
support we offer.
We believe that if we pay [music]
continuous ongoing attention to the
issue of how nonprofits [music] use
digital tools to achieve their goals
will be able to materially improve the
ability of organizations of all sizes to
use technology to meet their needs and
and that's what we're here for.
>> The kind of work that TechUp does, it's
not just for those organizations. It's
not just for those entities, but it's
for individuals. So every day we get to
support these small organizations and by
extension these individuals. I see
myself in that. I mean this it it can
only be a dream.
