Video summary

Vincent Somi Omalla, Director of Ceragem Kenya (also referred to as Saragem), discusses how advanced technology is transforming spinal wellness by addressing the spine's critical role as a pillar that supports body weight and houses the spinal cord. Misalignments or pressure on this central nervous system can disrupt communication between the brain and organs, leading to severe pain, organ dysfunction, and conditions like sciatica. The company tackles common issues ranging from back pain, bulging discs, and arthritis linked to uric acid deposits to nerve compression affecting leg movement, noting that these problems affect all age groups—from young athletes with sports injuries to mothers dealing with pregnancy-related weight gain. Prevention is emphasized as a key strategy through moderate exercise, maintaining proper posture, managing Body Mass Index, avoiding overexertion, and utilizing ergonomic solutions like the Cabo chair for long-distance drivers or office workers who slouch. The core of Ceragem's therapeutic approach involves specialized thermal massager beds equipped with scanning technology that measures spinal curvature before applying regulated far-infrared heat and acupressure to realign vertebrae without manual manipulation. This process mimics chiropractic adjustments but utilizes controlled intensity that starts low and increases gradually, ensuring safety even for elderly populations who might otherwise rely on traditional remedies like Kaluma or Salama which often provide only temporary relief. To address concerns about radiation from electrical devices, the company highlights its Advanced Human Protection System designed to minimize exposure significantly more than everyday gadgets like phones or laptops, a claim supported by over 18 years of safe operation. The organization also promotes home-use machines approved by Kenya's Pharmacy and Poisons Board after initial consultation and training, allowing users to continue their recovery journey in the comfort of their own homes rather than relying solely on immediate clinic visits. Beyond individual treatment, Ceragem focuses on expanding access through a community-centric model that bridges gaps between earning income and extending services locally via training programs for villages and communities. The company encourages long-term partnerships with regulatory alignment from bodies like the Ministry of Health and Pharmacy Board, offering contracts to operate centers where staff are trained under supervision; while various roles exist within these centers, having a medical professional such as a nurse or physiotherapist is strongly encouraged to provide essential consultations alongside machine operation. Success stories illustrate that clients who previously depended on painkillers due to severe sciatica or slipped discs have regained mobility and functionality after treatment, though recovery is described as a gradual process rather than an instant fix. The organization leverages social media platforms for education on topics like arthritis and hypertension while inviting the public to visit their multiple centers across Nairobi CBD, Eastleigh, Nakuru, Thika, Eldoret, South C, and other locations for consultations or prevention services.

Absolutely, thank you for tuning in and welcome back. Good morning. My name is Bwana Sakwa and you can plug in your answers on our social media platforms at Y254 Channel. The hashtag is still Y in the morning. Now, in this segment, we're taking a look at how technology is revolutionizing wellness, precisely spine wellness. Why is spine health the foundation of literally your overall general health? And Ceragem Kenya is coming in handy, especially when it comes to giving you those integral therapeutic services that you need. And today, we are speaking live with Vincent Somi Omala. He's the director at Ceragem. Great to have you and good morning. >> Uh good morning, uh Mr. Sakwa. And thank you so much for having me on. >> Right. Uh let's get into it. Uh what exactly happens at Ceragem? How did it get birthed in Kenya? >> Uh actually, Ceragem uh is originally from South Korea. And uh they are the manufacturers of uh uh products, health uh products, especially therapeutic products. Uh thermal We call them uh thermal massager. In 2008, Ceragem came in Kenya. We're talking of almost >> 2008. >> They're almost 18 years. >> Yeah. >> And we've been here until today. We are happy that we have many thousands and thousands of people have uh benefited from Ceragem. >> Right. >> Yeah. >> So, maybe generally, if you were to deep dive into it, why is spine health the the the main important aspect of a person's uh general health? Why should it be taken care of? >> Okay. >> And how is Ceragem providing the needed care? >> Uh thank you, Bwana Sakwa. Uh spine Why Ceragem Why we use spine as the main? Because uh Ceragem products can be used in different parts of the body, especially on your tummy, on your back, uh on your foot. But basically spine is the main uh part of the body that we focus on. Why? Because spine is uh the pillar of our body. At the same time, uh spine has the spinal cord, uh which is uh protected actually by the spine or the the discs or the the vertebral column. So, really? >> Okay. >> Now, uh from the the connection between the spine and the brain, and then we have all the nerves. >> Mhm. >> For any organ to operate or to function well, it has to have some message from the brain in coordination through the spinal cord to all the nerves. >> Right. >> So, if the spine is in in good health, that means uh your body also can be in good health. >> Right. >> Uh you uh actually uh spine is the pillar >> Mhm. >> in a way. Because imagine uh the body without the spine. >> Right. >> It carries a lot of weight, your head and the other body. Even for you to be uh stable, uh you need spine. To sit properly, to walk properly, you need proper spine. >> Literally your body posture depends on the health of your spine. >> Perfect. >> Right. For a person who's checking into uh spine wellness center like Ceragem, what does the spine therapy entail specifically if you are to speak one-on-one to a person who's coming in for a checkup or maybe for treatment or maybe to consult? >> Okay. Uh when someone comes in, basically uh spine health does not mean you have to be sick to go to for checkup or to use our therapeutic products. Our therapeutic products are good for prevention, are good for you know, keeping wellness. But especially when someone is not feeling well or sick, especially on your spine or you're feeling pain. >> Yeah. >> Uh when you come in, we need to do a lot of consultation. >> Mhm. >> Uh many people have visited different hospitals before they come to our place. >> Right. >> Which is very good because basically some come with the uh x-ray, MRI >> Right. >> us, you know, how far, what is the problem. >> Yeah. >> Uh >> Maybe still on the problem part before you uh digress. What what could be an issue in someone's spine? >> Mhm. >> And also maybe if you're the coming in at Ceragem, what is the process of them, you know, getting that review? >> Okay. Uh spine has several can have several problems. Uh because there are different sections of the spine. Uh we have the the the upper part, the middle part, and the lower part. >> Right. >> We have the the the the the cervical, the we have the lumbar, >> the thoracic >> the thoracic. >> Right. >> So all those uh parts, they they need to be in in better in they are natural positions. >> Cuz there's bones involved. >> There are bones and there are the discs also. >> Discs as well. >> Cuz those bones not to crash from each other, it is a disc. >> It should be aligned. >> helps uh there is kind of the helps the shocks. >> Mhm. >> Alignment is like in a car. >> Right. Okay. >> Now, uh you know, for some people because of the nature of your lifestyle, maybe you can strain, maybe you carry heavy stuff. Sometimes uh because of maybe you do too much exercise, you can hurt your spine. >> Right. >> And uh even some sometimes you can develop sickness, maybe arthritis and all that. >> Yes. >> Or some infection. >> Or even stiffness cuz stiffness that's right. Now they wake up, they're like you take too too a little bit too much time to stretch and the become easy. So, how do you help them become flawless, so to say, for lack of a better term? >> Uh well, when they come to our centers and what happens is we do a lot we do consultation to find out exactly what's the problem, the extent of your problem. And then we subject you to uh therapeutic services. >> Right. >> Where you will use our product. >> Mhm. >> How much of We have several products, but basically we have a machine >> Yeah. >> which is more or less like a bed. >> Right. >> But it has a projector that runs on your spine. >> Okay. >> Uh the interesting part of our product, especially our machine, it has the intensity. >> Okay. >> So, let's say someone you are you are doing it for the first time. >> Mhm. >> Well, what will happen is our machine will set it to a lower intensity or and then as you use it we increase the incentive the intensity. That basically is the alignment. >> Mhm. >> But that's what we call the chiropractic part of it. >> Yeah, many of your chiropractors, yeah. >> Yes, yes. Instead of doing it with the hand, >> Mhm. >> now you use the machine. >> Right. >> And it does very well, of course with the thermal a bit of some heat >> Mhm. >> which we regulate >> Right. >> and then you can be able to do >> For instance, not back pain or [clears throat] stiffness of the neck or back pain, how do you make the person get into that process of receiving that? >> Now, uh depending with the area of your pain, where you are feeling the pain or where you have a problem, >> Mhm. >> uh we'll set that machine based on that particular person. >> Right. >> If it's the the upper part, >> Mhm. >> uh the thoracic part or that which will is affecting your neck, >> Mhm. >> uh the cervical, we will work on that one also. >> Right. >> If it's thoracic, also we set the machine based on that area. >> Yeah, so you lie in a bed and it's a it's like a scanner, too? >> Yes, our machine is uh a It's It's a bed. >> Right. >> And it has a scanning services. >> Right. >> Where it checks the size, the curvature of your of your spine. And And also your your your height. >> Right. >> So that it adjust based on you. >> Mhm. >> And then it has a what you call a It works on acupressure points. >> Right. >> So when it's moving along your spine, >> Mhm. >> it doesn't just move randomly. >> Mhm. It's detecting and >> based on the your acupressure points. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Right. Maybe as well when it comes to Kenyans cuz I believe this is a very interesting wellness forte that maybe has not been massively explored. If you were to pinpoint, what are the most common spine problems that Kenyans are ailing from or suffering from that very quite often if somebody's checking in at Serene Gym, it's either this or that. >> Uh this uh many of people who visit Serene Gym uh they come with the problems with the back pain. >> Back pain. >> Uh back pain and sometimes maybe they're bulging disc. Uh sometimes a slipped disc. Uh and you know, sometimes it's hard to really tell. Because you can have uh a problem with your leg. >> Yeah. >> Leg is paining but it starts from your lumbar side. >> Yeah. >> And we realize that many people come with the sciatic uh nerves problem. >> Sciatic nerve problem, what does that mean? >> Uh that there's a nerve coming from your lower back. And And it runs down to the to to your foot. >> Uh-huh. >> And that nerve basically it's very it's it's one of the huge nerves that helps your movement of your legs and the coordination of your legs. >> Yeah. >> Uh that sometimes is affected based on your nature of your lifestyle, sitting posture, maybe you are doing heavy work, extra side, sometimes that can develop. >> Mhm. >> So, many people come with that problem. >> Mhm. >> Uh also some people come with nerves problem. >> Right. >> Yes. >> Uh there's somebody who had asked There's somebody who had asked um what is the technology that runs this wellness? Uh you've mentioned you have a machine that offers the therapeutic services, but I understand as well chiropractice come into play. Also, maybe you can explain who is a chiropractor and how do they come in in handy when it comes to offering uh spine wellness services? >> Uh >> [cough] >> Sorry. [clears throat] >> Ceragem >> Uh in in Korea, >> [clears throat] >> which I've visited there severally, they have research centers where they do a lot of research on our products on how they can be able to help people. Uh for a machine to do chiropractic >> [clears throat] >> chiropractic doctor is one who uses hands to manipulate your spine >> Mhm. >> for a patient working on the alignment. >> Yeah. >> To make sure that the spine or the vertebras or the disc are in their natural position. >> Right. >> Uh many Basically, those doctors they they focus on the spine. >> Right. So, they're called chiropractors. Okay. >> yes. >> Right. Medically approved or licensed? >> Oh, of course, yes. Chiropractic doctors Basically, they are approved. They They study to very high level. >> And they're registered and licensed and practicing in >> Ceragem [clears throat] uh based on their research they incorporated chiropractic services. >> Yeah. >> Or what a doctor chiropractic doctor can do >> Mhm. >> a product Ceragem machine can also do. >> Right. >> Yes. >> Uh If you were to maybe categorize it in terms of age bracket, who are likely to suffer from spine problems? Is it a general demographic or does it go as well with age, also with sex and terms of gender, male or female? >> Uh actually, spine problem affects almost everybody. From the quite young age, middle age, and the older age. But of course, the people we realize that young people also because of the sports situation, they do a lot of sports. >> Yeah, so athletes do. >> Athletes. >> Okay. >> Uh sports people, many of them they have they develop some complications. >> Mhm. >> Uh because you know, sometimes there's a lot of contact with each other. Some of them fall on a this natural or a some >> uh accidents. >> our accidents. >> I'm I'm imagining rugby players and the way they hit hit each other during the game play [clears throat] all the time. That could be intensive if you get a spine injury. It's even it even happens in sports too, in football. >> Yeah, that's right. >> Right. >> So, actually currently we are working with the Kenya Volleyball Association and other sports organizations. So, that even we are contacting about basketball so that we can try to work with young people. >> Right. >> So, that they can benefit from our services. But as you asked, who are these people? Who? All all the all the age actually. >> Mhm. >> Uh many people suffer from spine problem. >> Right. >> Why? Because sometimes spine problem does not you don't get the immediate uh if pain. You can get immediate pain, work on it, and it is subsided. But when you as you grow older, that problem can reoccur. >> Mhm. >> Uh especially mothers also. >> Right. >> Uh >> Why mothers [clears throat] specifically? >> Uh you know, you can imagine >> Right. >> uh a mother who having 9 months >> Mhm. >> the baby inside the womb is heavier. >> Right. >> Uh normally that also could affect. But at the same time, when the mother is delivering, >> Right. >> how she's handled, >> Mhm. >> and how she handles herself after. >> Right. >> That could also affect her spine. >> So it determines the future of her spine health. >> Yes. An old lady could have a back problem. >> Uh-huh. >> Maybe at the lower back. >> Right. >> be because of during delivery or it could because of the work she was involved in before. >> Mhm. >> So as she ages, as the time goes, that problem worsens. >> Right. >> And then even about men also, maybe based on the work they did when they were young. >> Mhm. >> So that we actually encourage that people should keep good health and they should not overdo everything. They should need to to keep healthy. >> Absolutely. Maybe do you recommend cuz I'm also picturing in my mind I'm picturing a person who's into fitness. They're always doing the cardio, the band push-up exercise, back exercises. Can there be a point when it gets intense to a an extent that it ages their spine and they have to elicit chiropractic services or come to a spine wellness center to have it checked or treated? >> Uh it's that's very true. These people who are doing sports, uh it's good to don't overdo. Even if you're doing weights, you need to go gradually. Uh you know, some people do a lot of weights that are too much for them. >> Yeah. >> I know that what body can bear. Uh basically you need to go exercises also you need to do moderate ones. >> Right. >> But if you're a sports person, of course you are you have a target to reach. You need to go gradually and you need to have a proper person to to guide you. >> Yeah. >> You know, for For young people uh who are in the village, for example. >> Yeah. >> Uh, even here in some suburbs of Nairobi. >> Okay. >> They make some stones and they put some weight weight this way weight this way. Sometimes this weight and this one is this is heavier, this is lighter. >> of it, yeah. >> Yes. >> So, it affects you as well? >> Of course. >> But you're you're lifting your upper body though. And just the biceps and all the triceps, yeah. >> Yes. >> How is it going to injure your spine? >> The point is how are you doing it? >> Okay. So, it's >> How? >> How and also the balancing of the weight. That's why it's best even when you're going to the gym, you need to have an instructor there to guide you because uh, many many people who develop [clears throat] spine problem is sometimes lifestyle. >> Right. >> Even the way I'm sitting >> Mhm. >> you'll see someone is watching TV and they put the head like this way maybe some people they have some >> It's comfort. Some people they like comfort. >> So, there's a posture, too. What I'm actually hearing you say is that there should be a way that you should sit so that you protect your spine. So, maybe if you are to demonstrate it, what is the correct posture? Cuz I'm also in my mind still I'm looking at CEOs who spend literally a half of their day or maybe the whole entire day seated behind a computer on this amazing comfortable flexible chair. They're always maybe staring into the computer or just seated there. So, maybe what is the best suitable posture to protect your spine, especially if you're a person who is on a 9:00 to 5:00 seated behind a computer and you're watching this conversation right now. >> Uh, actually some people will sit like this. Or some will sit like this. Some of course you are bending too much like this. >> Uh, I think it's called slouching. >> Slouching, yeah. >> Yes. So, you know, you need to sit straight. >> Mhm. >> And of course in a position where you are comfortable. >> Yeah. >> But also in modern technology we have some chairs that are good made to protect your spine. >> Right. >> Uh, like now we are introducing something called Cabo chair. >> Cabo chair. >> is a one that you put on your chair >> Mhm. >> and it can help you to sit straight. >> Mhm. >> It helps on to protect your lower back. >> Right. >> Uh, >> [clears throat] >> you know you know some people not only sitting in the office. Imagine someone who's driving from here to Mombasa. >> Yeah, someone who's driving from here to Kampala. >> Kampala. >> Yeah. >> Those truck drivers, even private people private cars. >> Yeah. >> You know you're driving long distance. Not only that, there's people who do deliveries. >> Yeah. >> Uh, and you know there are people who develop back problems after a while. >> Mhm. >> So, we need to even boda boda people. >> Yeah, boda boda operators. >> Boda boda operators also how they they are sitting they're using I saw some of them even when they are riding the motorbike they didn't they don't sit properly. >> Yeah. Even there should be a posture for that too. >> Yes, even the passengers. You know you when you look on a lady she's a bit heavy or a man is a bit heavy, the way he's sitting >> Mhm. >> You know maybe the road is a lot of corrugation. >> Right. >> You realize that this person is hurting his spine. Even because longer distance >> Mhm. >> you will realize these people develop problems. >> Yeah, but also when you look at people for example person who has uh, let's say body issues in terms of weight like maybe somebody is obese. Does it also determine the health of your spine cuz uh, you've rightly mentioned a person who's going to the gym. I believe there should be some sort of like a body mass index assessment too so that you know the gym instructor or the fitness instructor can determine the amounts of weight that you should carry that your body can bear depending on your strength and the intensity too. What about a person who has either extremely obese or maybe they have physical health issues? >> Yeah, you are very right there Bonaswa. Uh, people who have the obese problem is a very serious issue that affects the spine. Because what happens, there is what spine can hold. You know, based on the size uh or your size also, the spine has uh the capacity. But you know, if you you you you you you've grown a bit you are obese, you are big. Uh and that means you're giving a lot of pressure on your spine. And when there's that problem, you can develop some issue of the nerves. You can develop also the issue of the the spine the the slipped disc. There's a There's a lot of issues that can come because of your base. >> Yeah. So, should the person lose [clears throat] weight or check on their diet? >> That's right. >> Would you recommend that? >> Yeah. So, sometime when you're doing exercise and you're overweight also, you have to be very careful. So, the best way, and that's why you have the BMI, the most body mass index. You need to balance. So, we advise those kind of people, even it's part of our therapeutic work. >> Right. >> We don't just subject you to the machine only. We advise you you need to start working on your weight. Because in our centers, we also work on uh the BMI also. >> Mhm. >> Uh so, once we know your BMI, we advise you you need to work on your weight as you undergoing our therapy. >> Right, absolutely. I agree. Um I'm trying to also picture our grandmothers in the interior so called nyumbani. It used to be in a skin bong or in a nyumba. And then, I think way back, if I remember from my grandmother, there used to be this uh medicine called salama or kaluma. >> Yes. >> So, a little backache and they just, you know, apply uh the the salama I think it's salama. >> Salama, yeah, [laughter] yeah, yeah. >> It's it's a it's [clears throat] it's a thing with grandmas in way way way way back. So, maybe for such uh octogenarians, people who are old aged, uh what would you recommend if uh they develop back issues or back ache issues uh the stiffness in various parts of their bodies because they're in their sunset years and I know your body engine is not that strong. Yeah, but you have to seek treatment cuz you're still alive. You can't just you know reject and get your health. What would you recommend for octogenarians specifically in Ushago? >> They should show something about the boots. I sent it. Actually uh in Ushago I know only Ushago. Basically it's good to seek medical to have medical attention. You can go to the hospital. At the same time for the back issues if you can get a physiotherapist >> physiotherapy >> help you to do exercise and also for people in Ushago you can do they need to do we need to train them on some simple manageable exercises. >> Right. >> Even like walking. >> Mhm. >> But no don't strain. Also you know you know based on for example someone can develop back problem because of the sleeping posture. How? Maybe the mattress is worn out. >> Mhm. >> And maybe the middle part of the mattress or the bed is down and the other side is up. >> Mhm. >> So and also we need to advise them on the sitting postures. So basically the old people about the Kaluma it's okay. You can do it but could be temporal relief. >> Right. >> So it's good to also seek medical attention so that as they go through the Kaluma they can be helped. >> Yeah. >> Yes sir. >> Uh it's interesting this statement originated from South Korea and how and how you've detailed it in your profile. Maybe what makes it not to be common or prevalent in our country Kenya? >> Uh thank you Bwana Sakwa. Ceragem uh is from South Korea as you said. Uh, we we have several centers in the country. And uh, the source of Ceragem product is one center. It's one place. That is our office. But we have several centers in the whole country. Uh, for example, we have here in Nairobi, we have in Eastleigh, we have in Woodley, we have in the CBD upper Trust National Plaza. Uh, we have several places in Nakuru, in Thika. Uh, we have the several places. >> Yeah. >> But uh, the interesting part with the Ceragem, because apart from giving the services, you can get our products. You can buy our product. >> Yeah. >> And use it at home. >> Mhm. >> So, if you can come and experience it first in our place, and then we can advise you to have it, if you can afford to use it at your place. >> Yeah. There's a question >> Or even share use it with your entire family. >> Yes, there's an interesting question here that says, "What's the link between spine alignment and better organ health?" Meaning that having a flawless and a healthy spine, how is it linked to better organ health? >> Uh, now, uh, >> [clears throat] >> as I said, the spine is connected uh, the spinal cord the spinal the spinal the spine houses the spinal cord. >> Yeah. From this diagram, I can actually >> this You'll see that in the middle part, uh, there's the the spinal cord. It's connected to the brain. >> Right. >> And as it goes down to the lower lumbar, there are nerves all the way from the upper part, the cervical area, there are nerves going down down to the thoracic, up to the lumbar. >> Yeah. From the diagram, how would you describe it? Is it a muscle as a muscle that has discs or different bone structure integrated to it? Cuz you can see there's like a some long tail from the diagram but attached to the brain or connected to the brain. >> Yeah, it is a nerve. >> Right, it's a nerve. >> The the the what the the the the spinal cord is a main nerve. >> Yeah, so it's a muscle, too. >> It it is could be a muscle but no muscle and nerves are a bit different. But basically, they are nerves connected to the spinal cord that goes all the way to each organ. >> Right, of the body. >> Each organ of the >> literally. >> Okay. >> And that's where the whole thing is because once your spine has a problem, it gives pressure to your nerve. >> Yeah. >> Some there are some areas like that. So, when it gives a pressure to your nerve, that means the performance of the nerve >> Ah. >> That means the communication from the brain through the spinal cord to the nerve to the organ. >> Right. >> The performance could not be perfect. >> Right. >> And that means the performance of the organ >> Mhm. >> might not be well. >> Right, so stiffness could come in or severe pain. >> Yeah, severe pain, stiffness. There could be a problem with the nerve, also. >> Right, like you can't feel or detect feel pain or pleasure. >> No, you feel pain. >> Oh, you'll feel pain, yeah. >> Of course, yes. When there's a pressure on your nerve, basically you'll feel pain on your spine. But you remember when you're having that pressure on your nerve, that means the organ is not performing well. >> Right. >> So, there's that connection. Actually, we what do we call it? It's the central nervous system. >> Central nervous system. >> system. >> System of the body. It's the engine literally. >> that's right. >> That runs the body. So, how often should someone you know have let's say if if you're for for example, for a person who I want to give it an age cuz you know, it's all about the Gen Zs. Can Gen Zs maybe fit in that category where very often they should go get checkups of their spine see if they're healthy. In the wellness aspect of it. >> Yes. Actually, not only just everybody. >> Literally every human. >> Every human being should be able to uh work on their spine or check. But at the same time, for example, in our centers what do we do? We call it a spine management. >> Spine management. >> Spine management does not mean you have to be sick to manage your spine. You need to keep healthy. Is that is keeping wellness? That you need to do therapeutic, you need to do exercises. So young people, they need to check also. >> Right. >> Yeah. And as they go along, you know, you you don't strain too much. You don't push yourself too far. >> Yeah. >> Uh what are the preventative uh measures that you at Ceragem that you'd say you're deploying across board? And also maybe uh in terms of access, how available or how easy and flexible is it? Preventative measures. >> Uh actually Ceragem we are around all over. Uh what we advise that uh your lifestyle you need to check very well. Because your spine uh you can hurt your spine. >> Yeah. >> And no and also we advise that you need to check earlier. When you find a problem, you can run to the hospital. But at the same time, we encourage preventative measures like doing exercises and also using our product. Our product does not mean you don't need to be sick. You can still use to maintain or to manage your spine. >> Right. >> Yeah. So but Ceragem we are available in many different places. We are at in in CBD here we are at Transnational Plaza at first floor. And as I said, we have several centers >> Right. >> where you can uh meet us. >> Yeah. >> Yes. >> Are there like maybe success stories of somebody who you journeyed with? Because you know, storytelling is now the biggest tool to even spread awareness and have more people come on board. What are maybe some of the major that you're comfortable to share real life stories where you journey with that client or a person or maybe it could be also somebody who's prominent or very close that you could give credit to and say they journeyed with us during their wellness journey and so far so good. Here is where they are at the moment. >> Uh thank you. Actually from 2008 to we have thousand and thousands and thousands of people have experienced Ceragem. And there are many many people thousands of people have bought and they're using Ceragem products in their respective homes. Uh we we have a lot of success stories where people came with a a disc that is slipped disc or bulging disc and they used our product and they improved. We have testimonies recorded in our systems and we have people who sometimes they are even willing to share with us or to share with the other people. Uh you know of course based on medical policy you cannot you can't start mentioning people names or he had this problem or has this problem. But I know many prominent Kenyans uh others political leaders business people uh who have bought our products. I visit their homes uh to even manage train retrain them uh the use of products. >> Right. >> And they always give super testimony. They say someone said if it was not for Ceragem I will not be like this. >> Right. >> Yes. >> Uh I can see your diagram representation as well as running the video visual. But also maybe if as an assistive pointer to as well uh what are the let's say common habits daily habits that you'd recommend for a person to maybe keep on practicing on a daily so that their spine stays in check or to keep it healthy. >> Okay. the >> some of the tips. >> Uh one is walking. Walking is very good for health. So and also uh uh let's say doing some simple exercises. You know you imagine no normally when we we wake up you just wake up and start going. But I don't know if you have lived with animals. >> Mhm. >> A dog a cow after sleeping the whole night or for some hours when it wakes up you'll see it stretching. It's stretching. But as when you wake up you just walk. >> And then the shower >> Yeah yeah some of them just go to work. So you need to also learn habits of a bit some simple stretching. >> Uh-huh. >> Yeah simple you bend and you raise up your hands and all that. In actually our centers we have that advice we advise people and uh most of our centers are also uh uh doing some exercises to keep fit. >> Right. >> Yeah so and also what I would advise people uh uh don't do too much especially carrying heavy weights don't do too much. Standing you need to stand and also a bit move. >> Yeah. >> Uh especially for policemen uh the military people they they do a lot of standing. >> Yeah. >> And uh actually we are discussing some of them that if you you are doing that you need to have a surgeon product >> Yeah. >> to manage to align your spine because time to time because of your lifestyle your spine will tend to tilt >> Yeah. >> from its natural position and when it tilts a little bit it gives pressure to your nerve. So you need something that when you have surgeon machine for example you can lie on it and bring it your your spine into its natural position. >> Right. >> Yes and then everything will be okay. >> Yeah Genesis are also all about you know luxury and I'm picturing massage. >> Yes. >> So do massages as well come in handy or it should be supervised massages, especially when it comes to the back or somebody would say I'm not coming on going to be choked out and then I'm going to get a massage. I'm going to get my muscles to go very tight. I'm going to get a deep massage and get a deep tissue massage or whatever the kind of package of massage that they want. If you are to advise on that route in terms of spine health, >> Yes. >> what would you say? >> Uh actually, a massage is not is good. It's good for health. >> Right. >> And who is doing it and how is it being done? >> Okay. >> So, we we advise people this is good to go for massage. And especially qualified people. >> Mhm. >> Of course. >> A masseuse. >> A masseuse or whatever. Qualified people I would recommend and also physiotherapist can help you. >> Yeah. >> And at the same time, ceragem machine. We offer massage not with the hand. >> Right. >> With the machine. >> With the machine, yeah. >> Yeah. Our machine also does massage, relaxation. Especially this machine, there are some uh we we can set it just for your relaxation. >> Right. >> So, when you have it you are in your house also, a moment you have done the work the whole day, you need to relax. >> Mhm. >> You just you have the machine at home, you switch switch on the machine and you relax for an hour or 20 minutes and then now you can move on. So, I recommend uh masseuse is okay. Uh they can if you do with the qualified people. >> Yeah, with a professional. >> With a professional. >> Who knows, you know, the body structure. >> That's right. >> But also are there extreme cases so far that you'd say if you come and this is the sign of this is the posture of your body, definitely maybe there's brokenness or there's breakdown in your spinal injury. Just to highlight like what are the extreme cases of spinal injury or spinal problems? >> Yes. Uh you know, when someone gets an accident and uh know, that could be very serious also. And uh that basically it affects someone. It you can be a on wheelchair forever. And uh those also could be a problem. And you know, an accident could rupture the the the the the the discs or can uh uh what you call uh the vertebras also can >> Right. >> break because of that. And that actually is very serious. Mhm. >> So, of course uh some people realize for surgery. I don't discourage, but it's good to do a bit others. Physiotherapist, uh you need the orthopedic uh doctors first, and then you need to do physio before you go to that extreme of surgery. But basically, uh there are many other problems, especially accident uh affects someone can fall from the tree, and then it makes it affects your spine. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, so that >> Right. Now, where does arthritis come in then? >> Uh >> Cuz uh there's I think there's a stat that said most old-aged persons, and now it's even coming even to the young persons. >> Yes. >> Uh somebody is still in the early 30s or maybe the mid-20s, but they've been detected to have arthritis. >> Yes. Uh basically, arthritis develops because of maybe too much uric acid and the the acid deposits in our >> uric >> acid >> acid That's an acid uh fluid between >> Yeah. The especially it's acid is in our system, but uric acid >> it's it it it there's deposits in our joints. >> Yeah, fluid in joints. Yes, yes, yes. >> But basically, uh arthritis is a an issue of uh that is uh almost from the it starts from early age these days, but before it used to be maybe 40 and above. But these days there are even young people. >> Mhm. >> Uh what happens is uh it can it sometimes it can start on your fingers, can start on your toes. And as it go comes this way. Sometimes it can go directly to your spine. >> Yeah. >> Uh and that is a serious issue that also people need to work on. Especially you need to visit the doctor and the doctor can help you to do. But it it it has become a sickness that it's there. But what we do is uh you need to do also a bit of exercises and Ceragem uh we we have a lot of clients coming the issue of arthritis. >> Yeah. >> And then they benefit. You know, Ceragem apart from just the massage on the the the machine we have the thermo part of it. This has some heat. >> Mhm. >> You realize uh people have arthritis >> How does that work? >> The thermo thermo is the the heat our product our machines emit some what we call far infrared heat which is good for health. >> Okay. >> Uh >> So it penetrates through the body to the spinal. >> To the to the spinal and you know to the entire system of the body. >> Right. >> Now, you don't you realize people have arthritis when it is at night it's it's very painful. And that comes in because of cold. >> Right. >> So like our products we have so our machine has thermo and we have some mats. >> Yeah. >> Mats that can be used to warm your body. >> Yeah. >> So and that will help uh ease the pain especially at night. Uh so our products are uh uh basically they they have a tory system where you can adjust the temperatures. >> Right. >> Yes. >> I'm actually on your Instagram page. I was checking out some of the highlights. I can see yes you mentioned you're working as well with the uh sports uh sports personalities. I can see the You said it's the Kenya >> Kenya >> volleyball >> volleyball association, yeah. I'm actually checking it out. Uh speaking of social media, how is uh technology revolutionizing uh spinal wellness and how is Ceragem embracing it in terms of now outreach to clientele and to people target people or target persons. >> Uh, social media is these days is a good, way of reaching out everybody because almost good number of people are on phones and on smartphones. And also on Facebook, on YouTube, whatever. So, we we use that platform to educate people. Uh, we have clips that will explain about the spine. We have clips that will explain about the the arthritis, the pressure, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, and medical wellness in general. >> Yeah. >> And uh, you know, through that, there there are people who contact us for an advice or even to for the services. And some want to buy our products also. >> Yeah. >> To use them. >> Mhm. >> So, social media has has been very useful. But, of course, with uh, Y254, >> Yeah. >> it's just lovely because you're also reaching you have many people who watch you the the TV and who really get benefit from this. >> Right. >> So, >> Yes. Sorry to cut you. Have you >> okay, sir. >> At any At any point have you gotten feedback of clients via social media? Cuz I believe when you're incorporating a business into whether it's medicine medical supplies, whether it's entrepreneurship in a way that maybe you have an SME or a startup, if you're incorporating social media meaning that you have an audience too that follows and it's a target either consumer of the product that you're selling. Has there been feedback at some points and maybe what does a feedback look like, especially for persons seeking spine wellness? >> Uh, from the social media, we have many people contacting us. Basically, to come and experience our products. To really come and also to wellness services to improve uh to improve their health. Uh apart from that uh we have a people who have used our product, they also appreciate us on social media sometime. >> Yeah. >> They they talk to us and uh we are happy that they respond well uh given that uh our system is not a quick fix. It's not that you'll come and you just immediately and you heal you recover and you go. >> Yeah. It's a journey. It's a process. >> Yes, it's it's a gradual process. >> Process, yeah. >> And uh with that you'll see a change yourself. >> Right. >> Because uh there are people who come with the problem of 2 years, 3 years. >> Yeah. >> They have been on painkillers. >> Mhm. >> Maybe back problem and uh you know, some of them they can't even bend. But after a while >> Mhm. >> you see this person bending and walking. >> Right. >> And uh going back to work even. Now, there we have ladies who say you know, I was not even taking care of of my house. >> Yeah. >> Cleaning, but now I can do cleaning. >> do it, yeah. >> Yeah, men who say now, you know, things have been very tough. >> Mhm. And for a man specifically, I can imagine if you have an extreme back problem >> Yes. >> consistent uh back problems that maybe comprises of sharp pain, intense sharp pain. >> Yes. >> And it deters you from performing your you know, your natural duties as a man. >> That's right. >> Definitely that's crisis in the house here. >> Yes, we have those kind of testimonies also because a person uh you know, a guy would come and say, you know, apart from just walking >> Yeah. >> I have a problem at home. Uh you know, I can't be able to even take care of my family well, my mom well. So, basically and that, you know, a slipped disc would really affect you. >> Yeah. >> Because you can't move your movement is limited. >> Yeah. >> Even for example, someone has sciatica nerve. You can't move your leg properly. You can't sit. >> Yeah. >> But you know, after using you will realize that the spine now comes is is we bring it to its natural position. Your vertebrae, the discs come now stands to its natural position. Then, slowly by slowly, you can now go back and perform well. And there are many people who have testimonies uh who have used the product. And you know, sometimes someone came with a problem and realized I had 2 years 3 years suffering, but I've used Ceragem for a month or so, and I'm better. >> Yes. >> And that itself, apart from having received the services, now he decides, "Let me have this machine at home." >> Oh, so it's possible to buy it and have it in your house? >> It's possible to buy it and have it at home. >> get it at Ceragem. >> Yes. >> You'll tell us You'll tell us where they can purchase it or where they can have it in just a bit. Um looking at building community support cuz this is like a niche kind of um medicals. Should we call it a medical service? >> Yeah, sure. >> It's a kind of It's a niche uh a service that you're offering. How are you building community support in terms of This is our community, and if you develop these issues, this is how you can reach it. >> [cough] [clears throat] >> Now, I I just want to introduce something because Ceragem, as you say, is a medical device approved by Pharmacy and Poison Board of Kenya. >> Okay. So, that's your regulator, too. >> That's right. They are our regulator. >> Okay. >> Uh From uh there are people who came and used our product. Now, how do we reach out to the community? Uh ourselves, we are trying to open up centers to reach out. But at the same time, there are people also this person had a problem, used Ceragem product, but he realizes there are many people with the similar product problems in my area, my village, >> Yeah. >> or my town. So, how can I reach out that service? He comes to us and we advise them. They come and buy our product. You can buy two, three machines and put it get a center somewhere and then you can use. >> How much does it cost maybe? You said two or three. Is that a bed or a thermal machine >> [clears throat] >> if they are purchasing? >> A bed basically a bed. It's not a a bed for sleeping but a thermal therapy machine like that one. >> That one over there. So you are taught how to operate it on your own? >> No, that's now our work because before you buy Ceragem product, you must experience it first. Okay. And second, you must be trained. How to use, how to operate it. And how to get you know to maximize you know the the benefits of the product. Uh Now as I was saying Uh people would get the product, we train them and when they take them in the village or in the area where they are doing it, we also train them and we follow them up. As they are helping other people, as they are using them at home, we still follow them up and guide them how to use and maximize it. >> Well, so it's like it's also bridging the gap as well. You're not just earning it but you are extending uh the product, the service to to other uh people in your community. Um maybe I I I don't know if you are able to also highlight are there myths and misconceptions about spine health that uh cuz you've been in operation for 18 years. That's a decade almost two decades so to say credibly if you are to give it credit here. Uh what has changed or has rerouted from the time you started since inception to now in 2026 where technology's literally the future of every service right now. Uh You know there there are there's a lot of changes. You know initially uh people used to say uh unaku Uh unaku choma So they there was a problem. People are thinking about how do you put it? You know, there's a radiation because of an electrical gadget. Normally, some of them emit radiation. But Ceragem has what we call we call advanced human protection system. Mhm. And that many of our clients these days have come to understand. Because after using Ceragem for many years, you know, they still they have improved their health. >> Yeah. >> So, advanced human protection system in our product protects people against radiation. And that because of the current technology >> Yeah. >> Uh of course, our phone uh emits radiation. >> Yeah. >> A TV emits radiation. Uh a laptop emits radiation, but they are minimized. But now, Ceragem has done more to minimize that radiation that when you're lying on our machine or on our mat, you are safe against radiation. >> Yeah. >> Because there's a lot of protection. >> Mhm. >> Yes. >> Uh for a person who's looking forward to be a part of this community cuz it's a company too as well. >> Mhm. >> Uh what should they anticipate? I understand this I've just checked out your Instagram page as well. There's clips in there. But for a person who's looking maybe to have like a long-term partnership uh also the alignments with like the Ministry of Health you mentioned uh the pharmacy board that's partly your regulator and which I believe you're also registered with too as well. >> Yeah, that's right. >> What is that journey looking like? >> Uh actually, we encourage Kenyans also because there is a niche given that we can't be everywhere. Uh people who are interested in working with us, uh they can visit our offices and we You train them and they see how they can be able to operate. But at the same time, there are many ways you can do it. How? Uh basically, you can open up a Ceragem center where you have a contract with us. >> Okay. >> When you have a contract with the Ceragem, that means you're operating a Ceragem center. We need to monitor your day-to-day services that you're giving to wananchi. >> Yeah. >> And how you're operating the machine. >> Mhm. >> Uh and that is uh where you will uh how to invest some cash. >> Yeah. >> Uh after the training, you'll buy our machines and then we will train you. And for training, we will train your team. If you have a staff or two, >> Mhm. >> we encourage >> Are there qualifications in terms of uh >> We encourage >> career. >> That's right. We encourage to have a medic on board. If he's a nurse, we train them especially on Ceragem product. Uh we could have a caregiver. Best if you can have a physiotherapist on your team who will do a lot of consultation given their medical background. So, we encourage that when you're opening a center, you need to have at least a medical personnel whom we will train them about Ceragem. And now, that combination >> Yeah. >> of Ceragem and medical >> Mhm. >> uh experience will help the people well. >> Right, absolutely. Now, it's time for you to give your parting shot. So, tell them how they can get to access what you've just said. So, the platforms, a website, a link, a number, an email. You can speak to them in 30 seconds as we exit. >> Okay, thank you. Uh thank you so much giving me this opportunity. Uh Ceragem, actually, our head office is at Transnational Plaza. Transnational Plaza, as you know, is in the CBD, Nairobi. So, I encourage all of you to visit uh Transnational Plaza, first floor. That's where we are. Uh apart from that, we have them in Nakuru, in uh in Eldoret, we have in Thika. Uh we have it in Eastleigh, we have it in South C, and many other places. Uh it's good to keep health, and I know it's good to prevent. Prevention, they say is better than cure, so we encourage your people to visit our centers for even consultation. And we have many other hospitals or medical personnel that we partner with them. >> Yeah, so how can they reach out? The name and email or a number? >> Uh okay. Uh Actually, we have a on our social media, we have Saragem Kenya uh EA. Saragem Kenya EA. >> Saragem Kenya EA, that's the Instagram handle. That's the >> and also the Facebook. >> Okay. >> And apart from that, uh we we we have a our office, you can visit us. >> Yeah, you must have me call at Transnational >> Transnational Plaza >> in CBD. >> CBD Nairobi, uh Mama Ngina Street. >> Mama Ngina Street. >> Yes. >> Right. Thank you so much. I'm sure they've heard it, and definitely people will flock in, and thank you so much for being here and for your incredible insights on this niche topic.
