Video summary
The video features a tasting of ten high-quality, artisanal organic sorbets produced by Frankie & Sherry's mead, showcasing a diverse range of flavors that span from classic citrus fruits to unique berries. Although the brand has historically created eleven varieties, the cotton candy grape flavor was excluded from this specific batch because the grapes were not in season, leaving the lineup at ten distinct options. The host explains that while the initial fruit selections like lemon, orange, apple, and pineapple were affordable, costs escalated significantly when moving into berry flavors, with blueberries being prohibitively expensive to produce. Despite the high price point of some ingredients, every sorbet was crafted using fresh, organic fruit and required a full day of work, resulting in products that are described as super high-quality and worth the investment for most flavors.
The tasting journey begins with the citrus varieties, where the host notes that the lime sorbet is intensely sour but delicious once frozen, capturing the authentic essence of the fruit rather than just adding artificial flavoring. The lemon sorbet is identified as the original classic flavor, though its taste seems slightly muted to the host after sampling the much more acidic lime first, which temporarily threw off their palate. Following the citrus are the apple and pineapple sorbets; while the pineapple stands out for its powerful, enzyme-rich fruitiness that dominates the other milder options like the apple, both are praised for their ability to deliver a strong, natural fruit profile without being overly sweet or artificial.
The experience shifts dramatically with the berry flavors, which are highlighted for their superior texture compared to the single-fruit sorbets. The raspberry and blackberry sorbets are particularly lauded for their incredibly smooth, creamy consistency that rivals ice cream, with the blackberry version successfully capturing the complex essence of the fruit often disliked by others. While the blueberry sorbet has a strong flavor, its texture is less creamy than the raspberries or blackberries, possibly due to higher moisture content in the fruit. The strawberry sorbet is described as having pure, pungent strawberry essence, and the host concludes that mixing these three berries together creates an amazing combination that showcases their individual strengths while offering a unique mixed-berry experience.
In conclusion, all ten sorbets are deemed amazingly delicious and worth trying, with the exception of the blueberry being considered too expensive to justify its specific price tag relative to the others. The host reflects on the order in which they tasted the sorbets, realizing that starting with milder flavors like apple or orange would have been better for preserving their palate before tackling the intense acidity of lemons and limes. Despite minor issues like texture discrepancies between different berries that might be solved by adjusting moisture content in future batches, the overall consensus is that these organic creations are special treats that capture the true nature of each fruit. As summer winds down, the host hopes these sorbets sell well enough to continue production until next year, inviting viewers to visit their website to enjoy these artisanal delights.

So, we have nine flavors here.
There have been 10 total in the history
of Frankie & Sherry's mead, but uh
cotton candy grapes didn't come back in
season this year, so we never made uh a
grape sorbet. Otherwise, it would be 10
flavors, so
lemon is our first original flavor.
Then, I think we made orange.
After we made orange, we made apple.
Then, we had cotton candy grape,
which hasn't been restocked, as I just
said.
Then, we made pineapple.
And then, I went crazy. Oh wait, no, we
are missing one.
We're missing kiwi.
I knew we forgot one.
So, it should be 11 flavors, actually,
if we had cotton candy grape. Now, it's
10. So,
where did we leave off?
After pineapple, we made the pineapple
with the fresh organic pineapple.
That was kind of expensive, because
these first few fruits were okay, and
then as we got into the berries, it got
really, really expensive, and it was
kind of unreasonable, uh which is why
the blueberry is super expensive.
Nothing was actually that crazy, besides
the blueberry.
The blueberry was definitely
prohibitively expensive, and I I promise
you no one else is ever going to make
that.
So, the kiwi was a really cool one. I
made that flavor, and I was like, "Man,
if we're going to do kiwi, let's do all
the berries, too." So, we did
raspberry,
blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry.
And I think it's really neat
to preserve the flavor of especially
blackberry,
cuz you know, no one really likes the
taste of blackberries. They never seem
to taste good. And we made something
that really captures the blackberry
essence, and is still really, really
delicious. So,
I'll take you guys down the line again,
just cuz it's kind of cool.
Um
all 10 flavors.
A lot of work went into these guys,
super high-quality artisanal sorbets.
Every single one of these was basically
a full day of work for my guys and
probably a thousand dollars worth of
fresh fruit.
Fresh, organic fruit.
Let's get it from the other side without
the label.
I mean, they're frosted up.
Uh not really sure
if we could like put them in the freezer
and take a picture of them in the
freezer. I don't know.
The color's still not going to be right
because, you know, they're frozen, but
pretty neat.
Pretty neat. All right, so I guess we'll
start on the left.
I've tried all these. Um I've never
I've never had them all like at once. I
just tried them while we were making
them and kind of gave them like some
type of nod of approval, so I can't for
certain say which one I like the most.
I do know this lime one was super sour,
so
it's definitely like you like sour
stuff.
Oh.
It's good though.
It's good. I don't know if I can eat the
whole thing, but
it's like
it's not crazy sour.
It's actually really good.
Now that it's frozen, it's a lot better.
When this was um
when this was like right out of the
machine, it it was like a little too
sour.
This is actually
really delicious.
I thought this was too sour.
I think when I talked about this before,
like I was mentioning it offhand, like
I was like, "Oh, don't get this unless
you like sour stuff." But
I changed my opinion on that. I think
this is delicious.
I don't think anyone would like this a
lime sorbet.
And this is such an excellent
Like if you have this in a restaurant,
you'd be like, "Man,
that is the most limy thing I've ever
had."
That's kind of what we were going for
with these. We wanted to
really capture what the fruit is
supposed to taste like.
That is so good.
If I eat that much of all these, they'll
be melted by the time we're done.
So, lime, really delicious.
I mean, I probably don't have to try the
lemon because it's like lemon is the
most classic one, like
lemon Italian ice, it's the first flavor
we ever did.
It's what everyone knows.
They might have put a little too much
water in this one,
but
that's the problem. As it sits
in the freezer for like a few weeks, the
flavor does really change.
I think the problem is
I really shouldn't have tasted that lime
first.
Cuz now my palate's thrown off.
Normally,
you ta- you taste lemon sorbet, you're
like, "Oh, this is pretty sour."
To me, this doesn't taste sour at all,
but I know it is.
Like my pa- I need to
I need to reset my palate because the
amount of malic acid in the lemon is so
much less than the lime.
It's throwing me off.
Definitely throwing me off.
Pineapple,
I mean,
I'd eat this one every day.
This is the one I've been eating every
day myself, it's the pineapple.
I like this a lot.
The fruitiness and sweetness of the
pineapple
really comes through.
It's a real
You know, pineapple is a very flavorful
fruit.
I think that's also due to the enzyme
content.
It really has a powerful flavor.
Like in regards to
in regards to fruit flavor
the pineapple definitely has like a lot
of fruit flavor there. Like it's
more pineapply than the others are limey
or lemony.
Probably the same thing with the apple.
I doubt I doubt the apple can stand up
to the pineapple.
It kind of It's not bad.
Apple's a much milder fruit than
pineapple. But you still get
a lot of apple flavor.
That's pretty good.
Unusual color.
>> [clears throat]
>> I guess that is apple color though.
Like
mildest pink.
I mean it's kind of what you It's kind
of what you'd expect for an apple
sorbet.
Um
I think we can
make that a little more acidic next
time, but
it's delicious.
It has a nice apple flavor.
It's very tasty.
Definitely mild.
Definitely the mildest out of all the
sorbets we've tried so far.
So if you have someone with like kind of
a sensitive palate, starting them off
with apple is not a bad idea.
Kiwi.
Oh, this one smells, man.
That's pungent. Oh my god.
Oh man.
That is pungent.
Very pungent.
It tastes really good, but
it definitely smells weird compared to
the other ones.
Oh, that's good.
Very pungent very pungent flavor
compared to like the other ones. Like
it's it's on level with pineapple. It's
like
a very powerful kiwi flavor.
And this one
has a very dense and smooth texture
compared to the other ones. It's a lot
denser.
Very smooth.
Almost like eating jam.
Like frozen jam.
That's really good.
If you've never had kiwi before,
that's a pretty good introduction to
kiwi.
I like it.
Orange.
I haven't had this one in a while.
Very mild.
I mean
compared to the stuff we've been eating
like
the acid content and the flavor of
orange is just so much more mild than
the other ones.
You know what?
I
I should have really put these in an
order
more conducive to not blowing out my
palate.
I should have had the apple first. I
should have had the orange second.
Lemon and lime should have probably been
last. These ones I tried first should
have probably been last.
Cuz they're the most acidic and
flavorful.
Orange should have definitely been like
one of the first ones.
Mhm.
I don't know how to feel about this one.
If we have to use a different type of
orange to get more orangey flavor.
You know what?
It's pretty good.
It just doesn't scream like orange juice
to me.
That's interesting.
That's another mild one where
it's not as like up front as the other
ones.
So now
raspberry, blackberry, blueberry,
strawberry.
Again, I was really thinking I would
just put all these into one flavor
instead of doing separate berry stuff.
Oh.
That's kind of crazy.
Oh, man.
That's delicious.
This
this might objectively be the best one
just because the texture is so smooth.
Raspberry has a really delicious balance
of berry flavor and acidity.
And this texture is so smooth and airy.
For some reason it held up differently
than the other ones.
That's crazy.
It's like creamier than ice cream.
That's insane.
That's crazy.
Very delicious raspberry flavor.
Not sweet. Not too sweet. Definitely
sweet.
Not too sweet, not too acidic.
Really, really delicious. I think
if you had to try one, that's at the top
of the list so far.
Okay, so
wow.
So, the texture of these berries seems
to be different than the other fruits.
It seems to be very different.
It's much smoother, much creamier.
This black If you've never had
blackberry before or you've only had bad
blackberries, this is you need to try
this.
When you eat this, you're like, "Wow,
that's what a blackberry is supposed to
taste like."
It tastes like pie.
Like eating blackberry pie filling.
This is really good.
This is crazy.
This is good as a raspberry.
Wow.
Really amazing texture.
Phenomenal.
That's really freaking good.
That's really good.
I would say both the raspberry and the
blackberry are definitely on par with
each other.
Okay, this the blueberry is not as
creamy
not as creamy.
I wonder why
the texture of those is so different
than these.
I wonder if it has to do with the
moisture content of the fruit is a lot
lower.
And redu- maybe reducing the moisture
content will make it a lot creamier. We
can try that next time.
But,
blueberry
not as creamy as the blackberry.
I mean,
not as
Mhm.
Like a mild blueberry flavor.
I would say,
if you like blueberries,
get this, but
maybe I don't know, maybe we need to put
more lemon juice in this one.
It's pretty good.
It's just like
usually you don't eat blueberries at
this concentrated.
It's a really strong blueberry flavor.
It's really strong.
It's like
blueberry in your face.
I would say just as delicious as the
raspberry and blackberry, but
the texture isn't as good.
Let's see, strawberry.
Oh, wow.
The texture doesn't look as creamy, but
it does feel as creamy.
It does feel creamy.
And the strawberry flavor here is
amazing.
This is like pure pure strawberry
essence.
This is great.
Really special.
Now,
what I want to do is
I want to have
the raspberry, the strawberry, and the
blackberry next to each other
and try these again.
And I'll try them all together, too, so
strawberry, raspberry,
blackberry.
That's pretty cool, right? All three
on the spoon.
Make your own mixed berry.
Pretty interesting.
Mixed berry is a pretty delicious
combination.
So, we got strawberry.
Got raspberry.
Blackberry.
Man, these are all so good. These are
all so good. They're all so special.
You definitely have to try them.
The flavor of the strawberry
is a lot more pungent than the raspberry
and the blackberry.
You know what?
Blackberry is slightly milder. Doesn't
have as much acidity as the raspberry.
The raspberry is sharp. Has a nice bite
to it. But, it doesn't have as much
fruit flavor as the strawberry.
The strawberry
has a very powerful strawberry flavor.
In regards to like fruit forwardness,
the strawberry has
a lot of flavor here.
I think the raspberry
has the best texture.
And the blackberry is kind of like the
wild card because
you've never tasted blackberry like that
before. So, all these sorbets, guys, are
amazingly delicious. They are all worth
trying.
Um the ones that maybe I didn't speak as
positively about, they are cheaper.
Some of these are around $8 or $9.
The blue The blueberry is the most
expensive.
Is it worth the most expensive? No.
It's just really expensive because
blueberry is expensive.
Um I don't know if it's possible
to match the texture of I don't know if
we could get all the textures like the
raspberry and the blackberry.
I would assume those are slightly drier
fruits. But all these recipes were
pretty much identical.
The recipes were pretty identical, so
I find it hard to believe that the water
content of the fruit accounts for that
much of a discrepancy.
But all these are amazing, guys. All of
them around the $10 price point besides
the blueberry, so I hope you really
enjoy them.
Kind of the end of summer, so we'll see
how they sell.
Um and maybe we won't have to make
another batch until uh until next
summer, but I mean, I'd like to make
them more.
Uh so, thank you guys for joining.
frankiesurfinice.com, we have all these
delicious sorbets.
And uh I guess no cotton candy grape,
huh?
