And Nathan said to David, "The Lord has taken away your sin. You shall not die cuz you confessed it. For I know my transgressions." Psalm 51:3 and4, "For I know my transgressions. I recognize my rebellion. It haunts me day and night. Against you and you alone have I sinned. And I have done what is evil in your sight. You'll be proved right in when you in what you say. And your judgment against me is just. I can't argue what you said, Lord. What you said about my sin is true. James 1:3-15. Let no one say, including George, let no one say when he is tempted, I am being tempted by God. Can I go as can I go as far as say let no one is no one say when they're tempted when they're being tempted I'm being tempted by succubus or incubus blaming it on the devil. Let no one say when you are being tempted God is tempting me. God has never tempted to do wrong and he neither he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires. Do you see that? It says clearly verse 14, temptation come from our own desires which entice us and drags us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. Let's look at James chapter 1 verse 14 one more time. He says, "Let no one say verse 13, when he is tempted, I am being tempted by God." Can't say that. Can't say that at all. But God cannot be tempted by evil and he does not tempt anyone. Verse 14, I want to look at verse 14 to 15. But each one is tempted when he is carried away by his own lust. Then verse 15, when he's carried away, when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin. And when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. It brings forth death. Flag on the field, passing responsibility. Your temptation may explain the struggle and the battle, but it does not excuse you from failing on the battlefield. Yeah. Yeah. The temptation is real, George. Christians, our temptations are real temptations, but we are responsible. We're accountable for what we do. We are responsible and accountable for how we respond when being tempted. Biblical confession, true biblical confession says, I have sinned. I was wrong. We don't transfer. We don't blame shift. We don't hand off accountability and responsibility. We don't say because you made me mad. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That don't work. When you and I stand before God, we going to give an account for everything we do. And the person who sin is going to give an account for what they do. If they are the provocator, God going to deal with them. But God's going to deal with you and I because we refuse to control our own emotions and our own flesh and bring our own desires and emotions under control. Pastor responsibility does not fly in the kingdom of God. Biblical confession says I sinned. I was wrong. Lord forgive me, brother, sister. Forgive me. I can't say yeah but yeah, but you this. No, no, no. Biblical confession says I sinned. I sinned. That's what you read in the text, right? That's what we saw in the text. I sinned. Not that you made me sin. No, I sinned. And we don't transfer the moral responsibility to a demon, to our mama, to our daddy, to our ancestors, to slavery, none of that before God to try to avoid and try to remove ourself for being accountable and say, "Well, you know, it's because I was brought up this way. This is why I sin." No, no, no, no. When I sin, I have to take accountability and take responsibility for what I do. I can't blame it on demons. I can't blame it on my upbringing. I can't blame it on my neighborhood. I can't blame it on the environment or because I wasn't protected or because my father wasn't around and all that kind of stuff. That may be understood, but it cannot be excused. Now, for those of us who are new creations in Christ Jesus, and that's the truth route.
