Su, 08.23.26 - 2025 Panini National Treasures Baseball Hobby 1-Box Break *PYT* #7
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
In this episode of Jaspies on Fanatics Live, host Joe leads a live break of a single box from the 2025 Panini National Treasures Baseball Hobby set, specifically designated as Pick Your Team number seven. Before opening the box, Joe conducts a pin break to determine which team receives the contents, ultimately deciding to save that specific selection for the next event, Pick Your Team number eight, which is currently available in the shop. The group gathers around to open the box, revealing a variety of high-value cards and unique materials distributed among the participants, including Kyle Teal, Braden Montgomery, Game Gear, and others who secure significant hits from the break.
The highlight of the opening session involves the discovery of Rogers Hornsby-related items, which sparks an interesting historical discussion about the legendary player's post-playing career as a manager. The group learns that Hornsby managed the Cincinnati Reds in 1952 and 1953, replacing Luke Sewell after Sewell was fired following a controversial incident involving fan interference during a game against the Yankees. This story adds depth to the break, as the participants examine a card featuring Hornsby coaching, noting the historical context of his brief managerial tenure before he left the sport entirely in 1953.
As the break continues, several notable autographs and relic cards are pulled, including a piece of lumber from David Ortiz for the Boston Red Sox and a prospect signature booklet for Travis Bazana with the Cleveland Guardians. The excitement peaks when a rare two-color passion autograph card is revealed, along with other significant finds like a rookie rally card for HTX and a triple relic for Jackson Chirino. The atmosphere remains energetic as the group celebrates each pull, ensuring that every participant receives a valuable item from the box before concluding the session with a reminder that the final box of the day will be available for the next Pick Your Team event.

Rogers Hornsby.
Wow.
That's Coach Warren, coach used
material.
Still pretty old school if you think
about that.
We're on to Cincinnati. That is GL Bull
76. There you go. Yeah, it's kind of a
weird one, right? Like Hornsby, Rogers
Hornsby as a as a coach.
I'm looking at his Wikipedia. I mean,
>> he passed away in January of 1963.
At 66 years old, he was born in 1896.
>> He was the Red's manager from 1952 to
1953.
He uh he replaced uh Luke Su in July
after Su got fired.
>> The Reds went 27 and 23 for the rest of
the season.
>> Uh and late in a lackluster 50 1953
season, the Reds announced that he would
not return for 1954.
Um,
>> also previously he had managed for for
half a season uh for the St. Louis
Browns.
>> This is a fun story here. June 9th, he
was fired after a disagreement with uh
with Vique over an incident against the
Yankees the day before. During the game,
a fan prevented Gil Medal of Yankees
from catching a fly ball and the umpire
ruled it was fan interference. Hornsby
did not initially argue the call coming
out of the dugout only on ores from
Vique when it was already too late to do
anything about it. This led to Hornsby
and the Browns parting ways. The Browns
players were so happy about Hornsby's
firing that they gave Vique an engraved
trophy to thank him.
Rogers Hornsby. If some of you who
remember uh one of my favorite baseballs
movies, The League of Their Own, Tom Tom
Hanks at some point, who was a fictional
player, I think was based off of Jimmy
Fox, um
said uh
one time uh
Rogers Hornsby
had like yelled at him, tell him he was
a piece of S or something like that. His
parents had come all the way to It's a

>> She's crying. Uh, there's Shinosuk
Obasara. 96 out of 99 for Last Spot
Mojo, the Nationals.
I don't know who this player is, but HCX

for Cleveland. Five out of 35 prospect
signature jumbo material booklet. That

It's got a really high ceiling. I think
struggling the last couple weeks or so,
but but definitely in the long run, you
want to keep this one. This is cool.
There you go, Ryan.
