Stressful Times Landed me in Urgent Care

Video summary

The speaker describes a period of extreme stress caused by an unusually high workload, which has led her blood pressure to spike dangerously high and exacerbated symptoms from her multiple sclerosis, including dizziness, burning feet, and numbness in her hand. Despite working long hours starting at 6:00 AM until late into the night for two weeks straight, she felt compelled to visit urgent care after realizing she could not sustain this level of anxiety without medical intervention. Although her manager was supportive and encouraged her to take time off once she informed him of her situation, the primary focus remained on managing her physical health through medication adjustments and getting a second opinion from her regular doctor who is located far away in another state. After visiting urgent care where she received hydrocortisone for inflammation rather than the stronger anxiety relief she needed due to regional restrictions on prescribing controlled substances or high-dose medications, she made an appointment with her trusted physician back home. Her long-time doctor, whom she has known for several years and enjoys spending time with despite his distance, explained that state regulations limit what can be prescribed at urgent care facilities but offered support once they could see each other properly. The visit also revealed nasal inflammation causing poor sleep, leading to a prescription for prednisone alongside her anxiety medication, giving her the necessary tools to finally rest and recover without feeling overwhelmed by work demands or family logistics. With today off from work, she plans to focus entirely on self-care, including getting groceries at Walmart for her son JB who has outgrown his clothes due to puberty, picking up food orders, and relaxing with a movie marathon while waiting for the weekend to pass slowly. She reflects positively on her relationship with her ex-partner, noting that despite their separation they maintain a healthy dynamic where he financially supports them both without any romantic tension or awkwardness when dropping off JB at his father's house. This balance allows her to navigate family responsibilities and personal boundaries effectively while preparing for the upcoming school year and celebrating her birthday in peace rather than chaos. Looking ahead, she discusses how artificial intelligence is becoming an integral part of her daily life both professionally and as a homeschooling parent, using it efficiently to generate learning objectives, course descriptions, and educational projects for her sixth-grade son without needing deep expertise in every subject area. She acknowledges that while AI will reshape many industries including law where her son hopes to become a bankruptcy attorney, she believes the key is teaching him how to leverage these tools rather than fear them. Ultimately, taking this day off allows her to reset mentally and physically so she can return to work with renewed energy once the stressful period subsides, proving that setting boundaries and prioritizing health are essential for long-term sustainability in a demanding career environment.

Hey y'all. How are you guys doing? How's my glasses doing? Child, I'm broken now. But it's okay child. It is high stress for me right now. And y'all, it I'll get into the details. I can't be long away from my computer because it is a lot going on. Now, mind you, I am not um one who walks away from work where I know I have to do a lot more than what's in is not normal. Um in my opinion, um and baby, when I tell you I'm tired and stressed, I am extremely stressed. like I'm trying to monitor my blood pressure. It is extremely high. I make sure I take my medication. I had to contact the pharmacy to make sure my anxiety medication I get that now. If this goes on for another day, I'm going to go to my doctor and request a little bit of volume cuz I can't continue this high level of anxiety this long. It's not healthy, especially at my age. even any age, but this is definitely not healthy. So, I need to get my blood pressure down. I need to go to the doctor and I need to get, you know what I mean? Like, I need like some freaking volume to help me right now because I'm over the top. Like, I start work I purposely start work early before he starts. So, I start work at 6:00 and I've been seeing people working until 11 o'clock at night. Yeah. Off. No, I know I'm putting in at least 12 hours a day and I've been doing this for two weeks. So, let me go ahead and make an appointment, y'all, to see if I can get in and see someone to get me some medicine because I need it. I need to go see someone. I I do. Okay. I'm at urgent care. Thankfully, it's early. It's only 9:00 and there's no one here. Honestly, this urgent care there's I don't think people are aware that there's an urgent care here. So, there's no one here. So, I did let my manager know that I'm going to urgent care. I didn't tell him the details. I'm not like that. But, but he is like, "Please take care of yourself. Don't worry about it." But yeah, he's like, "Take care of yourself. Don't worry about it. Do not check in or anything until you're done and you're good." And of course, she my blood pressure. was extremely high. And I took my medication today. So, girl. All right. All right. All right. All right. And of course, my MS symptoms are heightened. Like, I feel dizzy. My, if y'all don't know, I have multiple scerosis, too. My feet feel like they're burning. It feels like someone has a lighter under my feet. My hand is going numb. I got to get it together, child. That's I was at the the doctor. Um I need to make a list of things that I have to do. I need to schedule a mamogram and a colonoscopy. Y'all in too much, I know. Um but especially for my family, for me and my family, I know I'm really big into my family history. It's really important that I get those two done. Um because uh breast cancer, hormonal cancer runs in my family. So, and I've had two cousins that have had colonoscopy, colon cancer, excuse me. So, you guys, my the um urgent care look, I was really hoping for some value. They they're not they're not going to they didn't give me value instead. So instead, they gave me hydrocyzine, which is basically I'm on my way to the pharmacy to get my medicine. Um, I did check in with my manager. I let him know I forgot to take my put my trash out, y'all. I'm just all over the place. And he's basically like, um, I don't need to know the details, but are you okay? I'm like, I will eventually be okay. He's like, if you need to take today off, go ahead. Like, take as much time as you need. I'll do everything today. Bet. That's all you have to say. I'm taking today off, y'all. Today off. I don't got to bra. I mean, we we launched yesterday. Um, and so, you know, we're good. But still, my anxiety, my Yeah. Um, I even went to go sit with my neighbor yesterday just to calm me down. I saw her little doggy, Peanut Butter. He's so cute. Cute little doggy. She has a um albino Pomeranian. She's so sweet. She uh was basically like, I was going to come over and see how you doing. I said, please don't come over here cuz we both have stairs to get into our house. I'm like, "Please don't do that. I will be freaking out if she came over. I may have to delete Slack while I'm Y'all." Seriously, I am on the way. I'm taking going the wrong way. There's a lot of houses for sale in this neighborhood. I am going to like not do anything today. I'm literally going to relax. I'm going to go get my medicine, start on that. Um, that's cute. They I may get She got a chair in her front. That's kind of country though. She got a lawn chair out here front. But that's cute though. I may do that even though I don't I sit in the backyard quite a bit. And my whole plan was to get my backyard together. Meaning I want to go ahead and get a grill and I want to get an umbrella. Um, I know one of my homeboys, he came over and visited me last year and he was like, "You should really do this backyard up because it's nice out here." I say, "I am. I am. I am. I am." So, hey Christine. Hey, Christine. Christine. Christine. I still check in with my uh old coworker. She's my friend, too. Um, I was letting her know I'm stressed. I check in with my good Judy Nick. I said, "I am done. I'm stressed." He said, "Sounds like your manager needs the damn value." Child, where we going first? Let's go get this dang on medicine. I've never been on this medicine before, but they don't want to. The doctor was like, "Child." And he's when he started talking, I said, "Where are you from?" He said, "I'm from New Orleans." But but he doesn't sound like this is the thing like a lot of people automatically think that everybody in New Orleans have that New Orleans accent and they don't. Not everyone do. So he doesn't have your stereotypical New Orleans accent. But he said that that's because he has been in Texas for 30 years. But he doesn't sound like he's certain words he was saying I was suspect. But overall, no. Let me go ahead. You guys, I don't know which place. I think my drugs, my medicine is at CVS. So, let's go ahead and go. One of them is already done. You know what's so funny? I He's a good Let me tell you something. I prefer old ass doctors. like I need for you to be you need you need to be almost retirement or you know you need to make you you need to be to the point to where you have a wheel and you've gone over your wheel several times because you don't know when you going to drop off. I need that type of doctor. So this doctor was like you know what I checked your nose and your cuz of course they always ask you you know how's your sleep? He said, "I check your nose and there's some inflammation. So, you may be going through like a nasal drip and that could wake you up without even noticing." So, he's like, "You're not getting our EM sleep because your allergies are inflamed." So, child, he got me some Pinazone for that bone. I got me some Pinazone. Child, CVS is across the street. What the hell? I got me some Prednazone. I got me some um hydrochlorine for that thing. And there was something else he gave me, too. But girl, volume, he even said, he said, "You know what? Um unfortunately, states are really hunkering down on volume." So he said, "Especially with this being an urgent care," he said, "Now your doctor can give you volume, but and my doctor is way out in Barney." And the only reason why I go all the way to see her fluffy ass is because we be kikiing it up when I go see her. She's a um she's a younger chubby old uh Filipino girl. She's sweet. And she's like she's like, "So, how's anxiety?" I said, "Girl, it's not good." She said, she said, "I know what you mean. I always spend a good 30, ma'am. Um, that's not a that's not even Elaine. Anyway, I always spend to get 30 40 minutes talking to her cuz she's so cool. But she's been my my doctor for five, six years. Yeah, I can get another doctor. But y'all, once I find someone that I like and we have that rapport, I I want to keep going to them. But for me is far at this point. But yeah, y'all, I'm glad I take I'm taking a day off. I'mma get all my damn medicine. I'm going to get my Chipotle. I'm gonna slip back into my night gown and I'm gonna lay it down in bed. I'm gonna I'm watching The Fall again with that fine ass 50 Shades of Crazy as hell. I hate I did not like that movie. I don't know why everyone's like, "Oh my god, it's so good and erotic." I was so bored with that movie. I'm like, "This is boring." like no. Okay. I am glad to have today out. But yeah, I'm going to do this. Oh. Oh. Oh. My burrito baby. The hair is up high. The titties is Okay, Vivian. I'm so sorry, y'all. I'm so sorry y'all. It's Sunday. It's the Lord's day. Um, I need not to be acting like this. Oh, child. The weekend is going by fast, which is why today I need to slow down. Slow down. I so forgot to put my trash out this past weekend. It is overflowing this past week. Hopefully, it won't get too much. So, y'all, school starts for these kids for JB next weekend. I mean, next week. And while he was out, um, I was packing his stuff for to be with my ex, with his daddy for the past two weeks, he's been with my ex, and they were just up here in Fate, which is only 15 minutes away from me. I'mma get into that cuz that negro thought he Let me get into that. No, it's it's good. It's good. We We on good terms. It's not like that. But anyway, um I was looking at JB and I'm like, "Why are you flooded?" I don't think they even use the word flooding anymore. So, of course, he had no idea. I said, "Baby, those pants are too little for you." So, I'm looking at the children's place this morning, permanently closed. I'm like, "Why the hell y'all permanently closed?" So, I'm on my way to Walmart to buy him some pants, some pants to wear because the ones that he have are way too little now. Um, those pants only lasted a year. So, y'all know how it is when they're going through puberty. Clothes only last a year, especially for boys. JB's 56, 120 lbs of just foolery. So, where is Walmart at, girl? So, I'm on my way to Walmart. Yesterday, we had a grand old time. We went to Irving. At first, I had wanted to spend a night out there. I'm glad I didn't. I glad I I sucked it up and drove back. It was We went down there and we were down there by 12:00. No, by Yeah. 11:30 to 12. Um, baby, we ain't get back to this part of town till 4:00. If y'all live in the DFW area, please check out the ranch in Los Kolina's. They have a special going on now. I didn't get it, but I was asking the the person next to me what the hell was she eating cuz it looked good. She Excuse me. When I go to a place, I always order the same thing because I just want to make sure I know what's good and so I tend to order the same thing. But this mama had a bunch of foolery. I said, "What is it that you get?" God. She said, "Oh, I got the I think she said it was the mommy treat, the mommy plate or or the wife, something like that." Oh, the women's plate, girl. Mommy plate. The women's plate. It came with a steak. I really don't eat steak like that, but that look good. It came with a steak, fries, a Caesar salad, a lemon drop martini. I'm like, "Oh, for $30, that's good for a place like that." I'm like, "Oh, that looks good." She said, "You should order it." I said, "Well, I'm trying to break down these onion rings right now, mama." So, she started laughing. Um, so we had a grand on time yesterday eating out and um yeah, so like I said now I'm on my way to Walmart. So JB was with his father um the past two weeks or so he's been with him. I just got him back a couple of days ago and like I said in my ex's and fate which is right over here is where JB school used to be at. And so I dropped him off over there and I dropped him off with my ex. And those you don't know my ex and I we are on and this is a conversation my mama and I had like this is why it's really important that you're very careful who you have kids with and yada yada yada cuz you never know how things are. And I can say to this day even though my ex and I are not together, we will never ever be together like that again. We are a type of people, we know that we are better off as friends. Like I could call him up, he can call me up and we could talk about something and we'll be cool. Cool. Done good. Whatever. Um, what's the point, girl? But no, my mom and I was talking about that. I guess who are we talking about? Um, just like let's just say for example, if you need some money or you are needing help, my ex will will hold me down. He'll give me money. Like when I was looking for a job, when I was laid off from my previous job, he was giving me money every week, a lump sum of money at the end of the month, and then he was giving me money every week. So, baby, he was giving me, I don't mind to tell y'all, close to $1,000 every month until I got another job. Even now, if I ask him for a lump sum of money, he'll just give it to me. He's paid for JB school supplies and for his clothes every year. I He just gives me money. um when we were together he was like that too. I actually when we were together I had his checkbook and so I would just go write check. So that right there is not a problem. And according to him like he always says he says that um I have no problem making money. You can always make money. There's he's like I can get a job you know take my time and get a job. So right now he's in between jobs. So anyway, what's girl, get to the point. So I dropped him off over there. Now I I will admit. Um I was looking extra cute because it is what it is, you know, because I was out running errands, doing stuff, and so I was I like to dress myself up. I was looking extra cute. Girl, get over. Girl, get over. So I was looking extra cute. So on my way out, no. When I was dropping him off, on my way out trying to leave, he grabs my hand. I'm like, "Oh, no, no, no, no, sir." I said, "You know what?" I said, "Do you got cataracts? Why your No, y'all. I'm laughing because I'm like, do you got cataracts? Why your eyes so blue?" He said, "My eyes have always been blue." He's like, "Where are you going?" I said, "I'm going home." He said, "You think I said I told him I said let we going this back for?" I said, "You need to let me go." He said, "You think that you can come over here looking?" What did he say? You think you could come over here looking like that and don't think I'm not going to try to do something? Baby, I got out of that uh What is he in? He's in a a town home. I got out of that place so fast. child. He thought it was funny. He was laughing. I'm like, "This I said this is not funny. I'm glad you not." I said, "I'm glad you think this is funny." It's just It's just cute banter, y'all. It's nothing like that. I'm like, "I got to go right now. I got out of that town home so fast. Baby, you ain't got to tell me nothing." Um, so what's the point now? I'm on my way to get the baby stuff. He ain't no baby, but y'all know what I mean. and I did a pickup order. Um, there are a couple of things that are going on with other people in my life that I'm going to really start. I know I'm changing subjects real quick. So, um, so y'all saw the post I made asking for a prayer and peace at my job. My manager is extremely highrunk. He's from upstate New York and I know him. So, I know, but you're right, girl. One of you was like, "You need to set boundaries with him." And I was even talking to my mama the other day about it. And my girl, my mama, she's like, "You need to give him the same energy that he puts out to you." Like, I said, "But I'm not like that." She said, "Well, what I need to do is I need to have a heartto-he heart talk with him, y'all. Like, this is too much." Now, he calmed all the way down towards the end of the week, but it doesn't make any sense for you to be calling me on the weekend. Excuse me, texting me on the weekend saying, "I know it's the weekend. I know it's Saturday, but so, baby, come Thursday, I was checked the out. I was show checked out because at that point I've been working like I started work at six o'clock in the morning only to get to give me I do this anyway before I even started working there. I like to start early before people get in so I can get a head start on what's going on. Right. So I started work early but then I'll be working off and on until 5 or 6 o'clock in the afternoon. Baby, I saw people the next morning. I've been seeing people working at 10:00, 11:00 at night. Let me tell you something. And I get it. This is probably going to be shortlived for the next 2 or 3 weeks, but this is not me. I I I don't know if this clothes going to fit, but I have some time to, you know, switch it out just in case it doesn't. Um, my birthday is in two more days, you guys. I'm going to really normally I take off for my birthday, but it is what it is. But I mean, the stuff I did this weekend was for my birthday. You know what I mean? Like going out to eat, you know, celebrating with JB. Normally I make my own birthday cake. I'm not going to do that. I am going to get my free nothing butt cake though for my birthday. I already got another, you know, I'm not going to do that cuz I already have a nothing butt cake in there. Thank you for >> Hi. I'm I'm going to get a cinnamon um a cinnamon sugar bagel with honey almond smear. I'll have that toasted. After this, I'm going to go to McDonald's, get JB some food, go get my pickup order. Um I may have to pull over and go on her and go to the bathroom. Yeah, I don't play around having to go to the bathroom. I when I need to go to the bathroom, I stop immediately and I find a I find a wash a toilet to go to the bathroom. Like I'm going to go ahead spin specialist. I'm going to be drinking this liquid and I got two more places to stop by. Actually, I got three more places. I got to go um Oh, y'all. I got to go pee. Oh lord. Yeah, I got three more places to stop by. I got to stop by. Um, girl, come on. Unless you got like a I got to stop by, get my medicine. I got to be doing the pickup order. And then y'all are too slow and McDonald's donuts. Oh, girl. Oh >> tip for the day. >> Hello to going to be 1057. >> There you go. >> Thank you. I need to wash my hair, but I don't have time today. I really don't. All that hair dye dried out my hair. Thank you. >> Awesome. Thank you. >> Have a good day. >> You too. What are you looking at? Is he looking at my belly? Yes, I'm chubby. The hell you looking at my belly for? Now y'all saw me do that. Now I'm going go ahead. What the hell are y'all? Dang it. Oh Jesus. All right, you guys. I am done with all and we got 30 minutes to noon. We're done. Um, all right. I'm just going to put everything up. I'm not going to even start dinner till I have time till 4 or 5 and just relax. And tonight also, I'll get ready for the next week. Well, all I need to do I need to make sure JB can wear these dang on clothes that I bought a child. Um, so yeah, about the school thing, you guys. Um, JB wants to be a bankruptcy attorney. It's not funny, but he's always been intrigued with why companies have had to they don't make it and they've had to file for bankruptcy. Those you didn't who know who been following me for a while, JV was absolutely obsessed with Blockbuster and Kmart when he was young. When he was younger, he was obsessed. Like he would be on the sofa singing the Kmart theme song. First of all, I didn't even know Kmart had a damn theme song. So I'm like, "What are you?" He He's We got something something shopping. Shopping at Kmart. Is it the best sit discount? Okay, fine. He would turn our den into a Kmart that's going out of business. I mean, it was so cute, but I would be so damn annoyed. I mean, there would be uh liquidation signs. There will be signs for liquidations. Oh, that would go in there. I'm like, "Baby, what's going on?" He's like, "Um, well, we were open for for one month and we're having issues." I'm like, "Well, what type of part?" He said, "What?" I said, "What happened, baby?" He would say, "Walk." I said, "What?" He said, "Wall, mama. Walmart happened." I said, "Oh, Lord." So, I just want to make sure that he positions himself in a way. First of all, the good thing is that bankruptcy attorney, that's one of those fields that honestly, thankfully, is AI resistant. However, it's my job as a parent to set him up to where he can utilize look into utilizing a AI to strengthen. So, there are new um positions coming out due to AI. And y'all, this is the thing. AI is going to be around here. is here to say there's no, you know, getting around it. I use AI almost every day at my job. How do you do that, Vivian? Okay, thank you for asking. So, I have a course that has a course description. I don't have time to think about learning objectives. So, I take the two or three paragraphs of the course course description from the syllabus. I'll then plug it into AI and I'll ask it, please give me three learning objectives for this course. Boom. Then I'll also ask it, give me a one sentence for the shopping c description. Boom. And then I'll just plug it into our spreadsheet. Um, I even used AI for homeschooling JB. I wanted him to do a project on the JFK assassination. So I asked AI um I am homeschooling I got very This is the AI prompt. I am homeschooling my son for sixth grade as part of a social studies. I want to be able to um create I know create for me a project include a rubric include essay information and boom m will do it or something that was really fun I would say oh look at him he so cute hi baby help me to get the groceries out okay in the back or I would say sorry y'all I would say JB's cousins are named Bunny and Troy create a one-page reading prompt or one page story on this and it will create the story and then I would say create four to five sentence uh four to five questions for reading comp. And I actually shared that with his cousins while they were there and they loved it.
