Video summary
The video features a reaction to the latest Street Fighter trailer released for 2026, where the commentator initially expresses concern over how the franchise is being handled compared to his childhood memories and previous adaptations like *Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist*. While he admits that earlier promotional materials felt like they were butchering the lore of the game he grew up loving, this new trailer marks a significant shift in his opinion. He praises the sound effects and the overall presentation, noting that despite some characters not being perfectly accurate to their original designs, the adaptation is far from bad and actually looks entertaining enough for him to potentially enjoy watching the final movie.
A major point of discussion revolves around the balance between realism and supernatural abilities inherent to the fighting game. The commentator appreciates that the trailer includes iconic moves like Dhalsim's stretching and E. Honda's hundred-hand slap, which accurately reflect the gameplay mechanics. However, he critiques the portrayal of special attacks like Ken's Shoryuken, arguing that while *Assassin's Fist* grounded these moves by explaining them through chi training and physical discipline, this new trailer makes them appear too silly and unexplained. He feels that simply jumping across the screen or shooting fireballs without a logical basis breaks the immersion he values, even if it might be fun for others.
The reaction also touches upon specific character designs and casting choices, with mixed feelings on how they translate to live-action. The commentator is particularly impressed by 50 Cent's portrayal of Balrog, calling it fantastic, though he remains skeptical about Andrew Koji playing Ryu, despite having loved the actor in previous projects like *Warrior*. He also notes some humorous moments involving character interactions, such as Guile questioning who damaged his face or a comment about fighting with a claw hand. Ultimately, while he acknowledges that no single adaptation can please everyone, he concludes that this trailer is the best one so far and suggests that fans should watch the upcoming film to see if it successfully bridges the gap between the game's fantasy and a grounded reality.

Brother, I failed you.
There was darkness growing within me.
>> You're not my brother.
There's something.
>> What are you waiting for?
>> Forgive me.
>> Not that bad.
Like the sound effects.
>> and then you disappeared. What happened?
>> The path I'm on now is not one of
combat. I don't fight anymore.
>> Yeah, it's crazy.
>> That's the stupidest thing I've ever
heard.
>> I like that.
>> is in danger.
>> I spent years living in Ryu's shadow.
Now?
>> I'm going to win it all.
>> I like it.
>> This tournament isn't what you think it
is.
If you want to save your brother,
>> I'm not sure what she's doing.
>> must fight.
>> So, hot acting.
I got to give it to them on the sound
effects.
Wow.
Interesting.
Uzumaki is simply okay.
>> OH, HELL NO.
>> THIS IS ABOUT TO GET INTERESTING.
>> That haircut is crazy. Is that Zangief?
Come on.
>> fiercest, strongest, deadliest spiders
on Earth.
>> THIS IS STREET FIGHTER.
>> [screaming]
>> GOD.
HUH, it's funny.
>> Oops, you dropped something.
>> YOU LOSE.
>> THERE'S MY FINGER LICKIN'.
>> I'm a straight fighter.
I made a promise.
>> Wait a minute.
Hold on. Let me Let me Let me go back.
>> I'm a straight fighter.
>> Dude.
Okay, never mind. I'm like, did he just
purposely run into the kick?
Damn.
>> Lord, you can
>> My business is surviving.
>> The list is to fight.
>> Interesting. Go on.
Literally all the moves.
They're supposed to do, but
>> Who did that to your face, Guile?
>> Oh, I don't know, Dan.
You know anybody in this tournament who
fights WITH A CLAW HAND?
>> I
All right. All right. So, oh, what's
going on?
Uh 2 seconds.
Okay.
I'll be honest.
That is the best trailer.
By far.
If you've seen my other reactions, uh I
think they released two trailers and
then that first look video where I think
it was Ryu versus Blanca.
I didn't like any of it. I'm like, what
the hell are they doing to Street
Fighter? They are butchering the lore,
the franchise, what I grew up loving as
a child from the game and the original
Street Fighter 2 animated movie. But, if
I have to be honest, this is the best
trailer. It didn't look too bad. Some of
the characters
I don't want to say spot-on, but or more
You know, they
As far as adapting the characters, half
of them they did I think they did a
decent job. The half they didn't. Like I
think
was it? 50 Cent as Balrog is fantastic.
Now, I am not in love with Andrew Koji.
Is that his name? For Ryu who was in the
HBO Max and then Netflix show was it
Assassins?
Hold on. Let me let me let me bring that
up real quick.
Where you at? Where you at? Andrew Koji.
I think what what I forgot what the name
of the show was. It was on HBO Max at
first and then Warrior. Yeah, Warrior. I
love him as an actor. I loved him in
that show. Is he right for Ryu? No, in
my opinion. But it's not awful. It's not
like Guile or Ken or M. Bison. But that
did look good. I mean it it it did I did
I mean it looked entertaining. It did.
It looked entertaining. It's This is a
huge leap
from how I felt about the first few
trailers, videos, images, posters, etc.
And
I actually think I will have fun
watching this movie. Will I be overall
satisfied? No, because it's not the real
Street Fighter to me. Yeah, there are
elements, but I want more of a realistic
I don't I don't want to say grounded,
just a more realistic version of Street
Fighter the way that we got in Street
Fighter Assassins Fist that is currently
on YouTube. But they they're not holding
any punches. And no pun intended here
as far as trying to deliver what we got
in the game because we do see Dhalsim
stretching his arms super long. We do
see E. Honda with the 100 hand slap. Hey
hey hey hey hey. We do see him you know,
flying across the
horizontal plane, you know, from left to
right of the screen knocking Ryu out.
And that's accurate to the game. Now, in
Street Fighter Assassins Fist, they had
their own unique way of doing that in a
more realistic grounded reality without
taking away
um
all of the supposed or alleged
supernatural abilities from said
characters. Hadoken, Shoryuken,
Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku, spinning bird
kick, you know, all the all the stuff.
Uh I mean, they're literally adapting
it, you know, from the game to the
screen, you know.
Uh but when Ken is going up in there
"Shoryuken!" [screaming]
Like that like the way he's saying it,
it it just sounds kind of silly.
And Street Fighter has never been si- I
mean, there have been silly elements,
but overall,
I mean, go go watch Street Fighter uh
animated movie if you if you want to
know what I'm talking about.
But let me hold on, let me do this
because
uh
>> You lose.
>> I want to bring up the where Ken did the
Shoryuken.
>> I must take her.
I made a I must protect you.
>> Yeah, that just looks goofy.
This right here.
>> Shoryuken!
>> My business is
>> In Assassin's Fist, they made the
Shoryuken feel like, oh, that's actually
possible. If somebody trains for an
extended period of time the right way,
they can gather enough chi or ki in
their body, channel it through their
legs, and then execute a jump or
uh light skills. And it was explained
that way through the dialogue.
You know, but in this it just seems
like, you know, hey, I'm I just want to
do whatever I want to do, and I'mma
shoot fireballs, and jump across the
screen, and do this, and do that.
Could be entertaining, but again, th-
this is not my Street Fighter, but I
mean, that's okay. They can't
please everybody.
So, I I don't know.
What y'all think about the braids? Just
got them done.
But uh that's my reaction, guys. So,
thank y'all for tuning in, and before
you go, don't forget I'm B Avery. That's
just my opinion. Peace.
I see you next time.
