Storm's Coming! So Little Time To Collect Amazing Jasper and Agates!

Hello and welcome once again to the Rugged Rock Hound. We are now back at the Jasper spot that Tim and I found last time we were here. Mostly red Jasper with some green in it. So, it was the hill you can see there. But where we're going to be is over here. And of course, the hill where we started where we found, you know, the two baggot and other things as well as that avocado looking jasper, which I do want to try and see if there's more of it up there, but that might have been a rare thing. Anyway, today we want to hit where we know there's more Jasper because Gary really wanted some Jasper and we're gonna go find some Jasper. Here we go. In case you need the coordinates again, here's where we're at. Let's head up. We are now over here. I've found the first little piece of it. Very small. Not what I'm looking for, but it it begins. It was all through there. Hey, look. Deer up there. Got a family of deer. fun. Yeah. So, we went all the way to a little over there last time. I'd like to go further. This is a nice little bot riddle piece right there. I wish it was bigger, but it's nice. I'll take that. Absolutely. So, just a reminder, Allan does have his channel, too. So yeah, getting little pieces of AGOT here, [snorts] but not much Jasper yet, which what it was like last time. Further we went up and the further over we went, it seemed like the more Jasper we'd find. Wind's picking up. Let's see if that's any good. H probably not. I may or may not take it back and cut it. We've got some lowgrade wonders stone here. Nice. Or maybe cut picture stone. I recognize this spot near the end of it. I've had a nice piece of seam agot that was in here. Wonder if I can find some more of that now. Yeah, I think it was somewhere in there. Okay. Yeah, I was literally just filming said that. Looked down and was like, "Whoa, wait a second." That's trying to hide from me. It's kind of a seam. I think some of it seam interesting enough that I should probably cut into it. Yeah, I'll probably take that back. That looks looks pretty good. But some of it's going to be volcanic. Just some of the volcanic rock. Here's this one. Cut open. Please be more agot than volcanic rock. Let's see. Oh, well, decent. That is not too bad. And now we're getting back into it. There's a Jasper there. Little piece there. A little piece there. And what looks like a little bit of seam there and there. Looking very promising right through here. Start with this. Yeah, just a little piece. [snorts] Okay. Another little piece. I'm just going to leave that. It's pretty. They're pretty, but they're really small. It's a little bigger. Okay. Yeah, that's a little bit bigger. A little better. I like the color in that. That's got some good contrast. And what looked like a seam. Yep. It's going to be some plume. And that should be more of it right there. Sweet. Very nice. And that's a very white rock. I wonder if that's anything. Huh. Could this be? No, it's still mostly volcanic. Has some alteration going through it. I can see a little bit of seam on the edge of it. Yeah. Hey, look. I think I know where that seam was coming from. Right here. Here's this one cut open. Yep. I knew there were going to be plumes in this one. Here's this little piece of seam. Yep. I knew that was going to look good. and just up from where you can see the seam coming off. I believe that is another piece of seam. Good size, too. Yeah. I don't think there's much going on in that one, though. There's a little bit of plume from one side. Probably just going to leave that one. That's an interesting piece of the Jasper AGOT mix. Okay. Getting some variety going on. Here's this interesting little thing cut open. And it stays interesting. That looks to be a good sized piece of seam. Is it any good? Let's take a closer look. H don't know. It's very fractured, very white. A lot of it. There's some orange though, which is nice. I'll think about that. I don't know. It's so fractured. I don't know. Here's this one cut open. Oh, more going on in there than I thought. It's not all white. Well, that's surprising. I like that. Well, those might be some more pieces of that, but maybe less fractured. Okay, that's got a little bit more going on right there. Okay. And that one looks decent. And a little piece of it right there. Okay. All right. Here's this one cut open. All right. Got a little bit going on in there. Here's this strange one cut open. Oh, wow. Well, that is chaotic and nice. Found a few pieces of seam there, but they were kind of the traditional clear. This looks a little different, though. Oh, yeah. Definitely got more going on in that one. That'll be a fun one to cut open. Here's this one cut open. Very fractured and nice. Oh, there's something a little bigger right there. Let's discover together. Is it any good? Let's see. Ooh, I'm really liking the look of that. It's good size. Okay. A bit more white than I'd like. Um, I don't know about that one. H. Maybe, maybe not. Here's this one cut open. Very fractured. Oh, huh. That looks like wood texture. Well, now that may actually be a piece of petrified wood. Didn't look like it from the outside, but the inside sure looks like it. So, Gary found this. There's enough green alteration going through it. I mean, you can see it's the volcanic. There's enough going on. I think it might be interesting to cut. So, I'm going to take it back and cut it. Okay, Gary. Let's see what this looks like cut open. I think it's going to look like what it looks like on the outside. Yeah. So, it's an altered volcanic, but beautifully altered. So, you can actually see some of the crystals that were part of the original lava, but there's also other things that have crystallized in there. Well, that is neat. I think I may have had a piece of petrified wood. Let's take a closer look and see. Yep, there is no doubt in my mind that's petrified wood. Okay, where there's one, >> there's probably more. Now, instead of trying to chase the petrified wood cuz it looked like it's been out for a while, decided to come here. And we don't know how much longer we have cuz we might get some afternoon thunderstorms here. So I wanted to keep going this way because last time I was here with Tim, we kind of came down this. So I've never been that way. Just want to check there and then kind of go in that direction. So Gary's still over there in the Jasper area. I came down, followed the wash up to here. I didn't see anything really, so I don't know. Allan went that way. Anyway, I've come across here. Starting to see stuff again. Got a thin seam with some bot riddle. Getting a little bit of that, but not really much exciting yet. That's looking better. Look how dark that is. Like a dark caramel. And I think there's another piece there. Take a nicer look. It is right. That's promising. Let's work our way up. That something. That's something. There's some stagactites on it. Yeah, I think that's more of it. Okay. Oh, following following the breadcrumbs. >> [panting] >> Okay, that one's not as good, but I'll take it for now. Such an interesting dark seam with plumes. And yep, what a neat little seam. Wish it was bigger. Here's this piece cut open. It broke a bit, but we did get that. Look at that. Here's this piece of the seam cut open. Oh, that's decent. Good plumes. The original ones were down there. I came through here and occasionally find tiny things like that. But I finally seeing something a little bigger. Actually, quite a bit bigger. Okay, that is interesting. Does look opal to me. So, kind of an opal seam. Maybe a little bit of agot in there. Here's this one cut open. Okay, that's nice. Another small piece, but it's pretty. But next to it, I think I see a bigger one. Okay, we'll take all these back and cut them because it's a new spot. They look different than anything else. So, I always like to bring plenty of samples from a new spot. Here's this little one cut open. Nice. Here's this one cut open. It broke a bit, but we did get this. Look at that. Starting to get more delicate pieces. All right. I'm hoping there's a good seam up here somewhere. Could this be the biggest piece so far? It could. That is interesting stuff. That'll be fun to cut into. Here's this piece of this seam cut open. It's the biggest one I found of this stuff. And ooh, that is a nice plume. Look at that. Well, now I am very pleased with that. We got something here. Maybe. Yep, that's another piece of seam. Great. So far, the main part of storm is passing north of us, so that's good. We'll see what that does. Here's this piece of seam cut open. It looks good from there. Oh wow, [laughter] look at all that going on in there. Well, I chased it and it just kind of disappeared on me. Last thing I saw was down there. So, let's let's go around the edge of this hill. Maybe loop up around like that and then down cuz Allen's over there, Gary's there. H. We'll see. came around the edge here and I see that nice area. So, I'm going to work my way there and then I'm going to work my way back. Yeah, I want to see what that area's got. Made it over to this spot. So far, nothing of particular interest. Nothing that I want to keep. We'll keep looking, though. The others have already headed most of the way back to the vehicle. I was bit way behind that. So I've come across I'm going down. Saw that. Looks interesting. I'll take a closer look. Okay. At some of that greenish opal mix. Yeah. Anyway, I'll pick up what I can on the way down. But we've got some close closer lightning strikes. So, time to head down. The other side of this shattered, but it looked decent. So, I have found some things on the way down, but because I'm trying to get off the mountain because of the thunder and lightning, I'm just going to do a montage of all the stuff I found on the way down, cut them open. It's not a lot, it's some. But yeah, anyway, here's the montage. Cue it. Here's this piece of jasper cut open. Probably looks like it does on the outside. Yeah, pretty much decent. Here's this little one cut open. Nice. Very nice. Here's this thin one cut open. Oh. All right. Well, we got a few things going on in there. Cut this one open and it fractured, but this is what it looked like on the inside. Really nice. If we could get something large and unfractured, that could be great. And I'm almost back to the vehicle. What an interesting day. So, this was the second video. So, this is going to be kind of a short video because the the thunderstorm kind of chased us off, but yeah, overall pretty decent. Try to find the right path back through the trees here. [laughter] Anyway, so yeah, this will be a shorter video, but still nice. Um, sad to find out that the red jasper is pretty much in that confined area we saw the first time. Um, but otherwise still a decent day. Still found some good things. And yeah, that was that was a bit of a hike. I was running fast to get back down. Hey, almost back. And little piece of seam.
